We came here for breakfast. It was very good. Ordered 2 eggs over easy with ham, home fries and toast..Everything was fresh and prepared well. The ham was amazing and so was the coffee. We will def be back!
This is a must try place!!! So good! Have to try the cheese curds. A little pricey but its well worth it, excellent service and excellent food!
Awesome food, perfect for date night. Ann's fried chicken with homemade gravy is to die for! I would be here every night if I had the money!

My husband and I stopped by on the spur of the moment. I love the ambiance of the place. Mismatched furnishings, antiques and quilts give it a quaint feeling of someone grandma's home. Service was good. I had the cider baked chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, vegetables and their mushroom rice soup. The soup was amazing...thick and hearty with tons of mushrooms. The vegetables were fresh, the chicken was delicious and the mashed potatoes were great. I have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow. My husband had the "lite" meatloaf dinner. This was a slab of meatloaf, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables, salad and he was very pleased, as well. So much better than the mass produced food you get in most restaurants...such a pleasant meal...and then the dessert. We ordered the bread pudding that came with warm caramel sauce and whipped cream. I took the first bite and I was overcome with delight. My husband described it as the "Disney World" of desserts. It was a lovely evening. Thanks to all.
The food is delicious, but overpriced. Interior and decor are stunning, but service is really slow sometimes.
We have been going to this restaurant for many years, the last two times have not been what wea re used too. We went there on Prime Rib Noght which was a Saturday and they were out of PR at 5:30--seems odd on a specialty night to run out before most diners are out. The chicken pot pie, which we loved, had sauce so thick it was like congealed soup, the gravy so thick you could almost stand a spoon in it. We know they had some change overs in staff, but we were disappointed. We love this place, the service is usually excellent, but these times were diappointments. We are hopeful things will revert to the normal great food standards.

Had rookies Cater my rehearsal dinner for my wedding. The food was absolutely AMAZING! My guests can't stop talking about the twice baked potatoes! They made everything super easy, I never had to stress out about anything. Staff was great and accommodating to anything I asked. Highly recommended! Wishing I would have picked a wedding venue where they could have catered that as well!
Unbelievably awful service. There were half a dozen dirty tables in Rookies this evening and not one clean table. After waiting fifteen minutes, I finally tracked down a server and asked if we could be seated. She snapped at me, "We're working on cleaning one for you." We waited ten more minutes. When no progress was made on cleaning a table for us, we gave up and left. The whole time we stood waiting, all we heard was grumbling about the slow service from the lucky few who managed to snag a clean place to sit. As we walked back to our car, we saw two Rookies employees standing outside talking and laughing like they didn't have a care in the world. They clearly aren't too concerned about losing their customers. Hard to believe this place is owned by the same guy who owns the Shoe Box in Black Earth (which is where we were headed when we stopped to eat, by the way). The service in his two businesses are polar opposites.
I'm going to keep it really simple with this review of Rookies. Food - 3.5 Stars The pretzel bun burger I had was arguably the best burger I've ever had with a soft pretzel bun and gooey Wisconsin cheddar over a beef patty. Still the menu's offerings were pretty typical of just about any sports bar so I can't give it higher than this. Atmosphere - 5 Stars If you're a sports nut you'll love this place. Floor to ceiling memorabilia, including bathrooms that are done entirely in sports cards. Outside they have a stadium for wiffle ball that makes you feel like you're in the big leagues. Overall - 4 Stars
