Very good food! I would recommend a cheeseburger with fried onions and the restaurant is also kid friendly it has a game room.

Burgers were fantastic! Might be about the best I've ever had. Kind of odd to not get a plate though, and instead eat off of a paper napkin. A five cent paper plate would go a long way to improve the experience. I will say that the service was horrific. It started off on a bad note when my wife asked if the iced tea was sweetened and the young waitress responded "I don't know, I don't drink it." Wow. She never checked on us throughout the meal, never refilled beverages, and never brought my French fries! In fact she spent most of her time talking to her coworkers in the kitchen with her back to the actual restaurant. The only time we saw her again was after a more seasoned waitress informed her how unhappy we were and then this young waitress unceremoniously presented us the bill and went back into the kitchen. Had the staff not split tips we wouldn't have left any gratuity. My advice would be to sit at the bar.

Decent burgers. Nothing life changing, but they were fried and I prefer grilled. 35 minute wait for 4 burgers. Granted they were busy, but it's just burgers. As another reviewer said, would not go out of my way for these burgers.

One of our staples for a good burger. We are regulars (not sure if that's a good thing!) and though they are well-known for their burgers, everything on the menu is great. Of course try a cheeseburger with fried onions but give the chili a try as well. Make sure to save room for a piece of homemade torte - you won't be disappointed! Don't expect fancy, no plates, just napkins...it's great!

Went here about a month ago with a friend who lives in nearby Dykesville. The cheeseburgers are good - delivered literally dripping on a napkin to your table. So I get tradition and all that, but how about a paper plate? The burger was very tasty and even better when washed down with a cold barley soda. Is this the best I've ever had? Not by a longshot but still decent. I'll return if I find myself off the beaten path again. If not, probably would not go out of my way.

Best burgers in Green Bay bar none. Well worth the drive. Nice, friendly atmosphere and service!

This place has been a landmark for my family and friends for over 15 years. Many generations of us continue to meet here every year on our trips up to Door County, Packer games, and any other excuse we can think of really! They have ample seating in the bar area but it can get busy at times. They have a back room with a pool table and a few arcade games and more tables (that can be moved around for larger groups), and a decent sized patio as well. The food is very good - as other reviewers have mentioned, the burgers are their staple item. Everything on their menu is worth trying - I recommend trying the chili and cheese curds. They have a few desserts (the pie... oh, the pie) too! Also, check out their shot list! They also have pitcher specials and a decent selection of alcohol at great prices. The service is great - they try hard to please their customers and make it feel like home. They have always been accommodating to our large groups and our families. We'll be coming back for many years!

The Burgers were very good, but I wouldn't consider them "the best". I guess I've had a lot of amazing burgers in my life. The nook in Saint Paul, Redamak's in New Buffalo, Michigan. Nick's Tavern in the South suburbs of Chicago. Top Notch burgers in Chicago. Redamak's is the best of the best. The place is in a cool location though. Really off the beaten path. Really clean, Friendly waitstaff. Prices are really great.

I was appalled to learn that Joe Rouer's charges for soda refills, even if the customer buys food! $1.50 for a pint glass (filled mostly with ice!) and that does NOT include free refills! That is shocking to me, considering how inexpensive fountain soda is to a bar/restaurant. I have NEVER been to another bar/restaurant that CHARGES for soda refills, even if the customer is not eating! This is foolish for a place that has such good food. You WILL alienate people. You have lost our business, but I guess that's okay with you: We are not locals, and only visit once a month or so. That is most likely not the customer you target.

Excellent burgers! Good prices. Great drive from GB out there, especially on a motorcycle. Glad I finally got to get out there.

Best burgers you can find, try a cheese burger with fried onions and an order of cheese curds, it doesn't get any better than that

Best burger i have ever eaten! Out in the middle of nowhere but worth the visit for those in search of the perfect burger. The chicken booyah is good as are the chesse curds. Lemonade is from fresh squizzed lemons. Be warned that it is a bar that serves food and a country bar at that -and sometimes the language used by the customers is a little "blue" but again a must destination if you love burgers and comfort food

My all time favorite cheeseburgers. This was always a Saturday or Sunday destination when I went to Saint Norbert College. Now, we stop here everytime we take a trip to Door County. I think I've had burgers here over fifty times now at least, and never once was I disappointed. Great place. Ask to see the shot list!

No frills, no plates, napkins only, quite possibly the best burger ever! Burger is 5 star, no frills drop it to 4!!! Great stop on the way to Door County. Very reasonable prices, almost too cheap!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BURGER, MAN!! I am a local and remember going here when I was young. I haven't gone lately, but I plan on it. All I have to say is... this place is the Southern Door local's burger hevan!! When a good burger is brought up in a conversation, Joe Rouer's Bar MUST be talked about!!

I'm really surprised I am the first to review Joe's. In my opinion they knock out the greatest cheeseburgers. I have searched high and low and nothing compares in my mind. I have been going here for years and it's always packed. They make their burgers from scratch. They are hand formed and are pan fried with a lid on top. I think that's what separates them from a lot of places. Grilled and dry burgers don't do it for me. I also like how they aren't too thick. Slop some fried and fresh onions on there and my lord you're set. Get some fried curds and a Baumeister root beer and the world makes sense again.

I love places that do their own thing and serving burgers on napkins is your own thing. As the other review says they are made from scratch and the place is generally packed. They have a limited menu but it is all good. Their cheese curds are excellent.
