As the 'showcase' restaurant of The American Club, The Immigrant has (almost) all of the standout components you'd expect from a DiRoNa award winning fine dining establishment... 1. Exceptional contemporary cuisine 2. Experienced and knowledgeable waitstaff 3. Expert Sommalier 4. Extravagant sweets 5. Expensive price tag Apparently I like 'E' words... and yes, I also really enjoy The Immigrant as my fancy night out while visiting the Kohler establishments as well. My dinners are always flawless and immensely tasty to boot. Upon my most recent visit, the new Spring menu had been unleashed and my meal looked a little something like this... To Start: Sevruga Caviar served with toasted pain de mie, clarified butter, lemon and chives. First Course: Truffle Honey-Lacquered Quail Breast Mid-Course: Black Truffle & Artichoke Soup w. fried Quail Egg, Lemon and Pepper Mousse Entrée: Assiette of Colorado Lamb Tenderloin, Shank, and Sausage w. Vegetable Profiterole, Sweet Onion Marmalade, Stone-Ground Mustard Sauce Cheese Course: Evolution of Cheddar: Fresh Curd, 90 day, 1 year Aged Hook's-Mineral Point, WI 3 year, 5 year, 7 year, 10 year and 12 year Aged My favorite by far was that lacquered quail breast... holy moly... distinctive with such a great unique mix of sweet honey, crunchy skin and salty truffle undertones! Mmm. I'm salivating a little just thinking of it... to whom it may concern, please bury me with numerous servings of these savory treasures when I go. Thanks. The lamb was also pure decadence; so flavorful, moist and served with a gorgeous presentation of veggies en croute... it was not light fare by any means, but when in Wisco, right? The caviar and cheese, of course, are just decadent add ons but totally worth the splurge! Caviar served with butter? It's like Cheesecake served with a side of Foie Gras. Pure unadulterated gluttony. They obviously saw me coming a mile away ::snicker:: So why the 4 stars, right? Solely based on décor, Kids. The restaurant is divided into 6 rooms that are designed to reflect the European style of early Wisconsin settlers. Conceptually, I get it... the resort is old, the history is significant, but seriously... the look is total snoozeville. Dark, conservative, unadventurous, old-fashioned... oh and super quiet... with no music playing in the background and everyone in hushed voices, after all of the spa massaging and relaxing this place puts me right to sleep! Plus with the division of the rooms and the restaurant rarely at full capacity - there are 8 other resort dining options to choose from - it gives off a bit of a vacant vibe at times. Knock down those tea pot clad walls, update everything with muted tones and modern touches, match the contemporary look of the spa to the forwardness of this cuisine and you'd have a 5 star total package.
The Immigrant offers a first rate restaurant experience: surrounding space, service, menu, wine list and ultimately, taste. It's well worth the price (about $120 pp including bottle of wine in the $60s). The restaurant is located in the basement of the American Club; yet not for a moment do you notice that you are in a basement. The decor and the separation of the dining area into small intimate rooms is ingenious. The staff are knowledgeable, polite, friendly, accommodating and absolutely not overbearing. The menu is well designed and has something for everyone. Plate after plate we enjoyed superbly prepared dishes with premium ingredients. After our dinner we stopped at the adjacent Winery bar for an after dinner drink. Overall, a very enjoyable experience at one of the finest restaurants in the Midwest.
Friday seafood buffet, third time in as many years. Excellent quality, service and beautiful decor. The fresh seafood is my draw - the oysters our evening were almost better than what I had in Boston and Maine. We seem to visit in September - the drive is pretty too.

Wonderful Sunday Brunch. Overall food was Amazing!! Its not a huge buffet but they offer everything we want in a good quality brunch. We were not as lucky with our server. She was never around and never took our plates away. I had to pile them up on the side and call her to bring me more coffee and juice. She sounded like a robot trying to be polite and repeat what she was trained to say to the guests But still, it is worth to try this place. I highly recommend.
Amazing brunch. Smoked shrimp, muscles, walleye best we've had. I loved salmon (wife thought just good). Roasted portobello and little bruschettas were special and lastly the French toast and deserts were also some of the best we've had. Pricey @$30+/person but if you're looking to splurge - well worth it! Great mimosas included. 4.5 overall
OMG OMG OMG. This place was AAAAAA-MAZING. First, the staff is SO polite and attentive. You feel like a guest in their house. They treat you like royalty. My wife and I had dinner and Sunday brunch buffet. Our dinner was off the chart. The butternut squash soup, the meat platter, the char, and the short ribs. One better than the next. The short ribs were the best Ive ever had. If you can find me a better short rib, Ill pay you $100. A huge portion of the most tender short ribs. They give you a knife, which I found funny. I could cut those with my finger. SO tender. The carrots and brussels sprouts were divine. OK, now brunch buffet. What can I say? Creme brûlée french toast. Shrimp. SOme of the best prime rib ever. CHEESY. HASH BROWN. CASSEROLE! Amazing pastries, chicken salad, eggs, sausage, and on and on. The only downside was that we had a short time to eat because of our spa schedule. But maybe thats good, because I could have ate for hours and gained 20 pounds. I wanted to challenge the french toast chef to see if he could make it faster than I could eat it. Thank You Wisconsin Room for an amazing birthday weekend for my wife. Cant wait to come back!

Most amazing place to eat.....EVER!!! The salmon was amazing. Cooked to perfection. The service is the best! You never have to ask for a refill.
Only plus..is view of the gorgeous golf course while sitting at the patio. Dishes were overpriced and our waitress was just over eager. Ofcourse they have too assume that anyone that dines here is on a pleasure trip or vacation.
Best French fries ever. We went there for lunch. Started with Wisconsin Bloody Mary (with horseradish-infused vodka.). Very good. The corn /sausage chowder is thick, creamy and flavorful. If you get more than a cup you can forget about eating anything else. I had the walleye sandwich which was on toast and had just the right amount of extras - mayo, lettuce - to be good. Hubby had the sandwich special w/ ham, bacon, peppers, provolone and more and he loved it. I think their beer-battered French fries are arguably the best fries I have ever tasted. I'm not an expert, but I do work with lots of restaurants and I recommend that you try these for yourselves. They are awesome - for once I didn't need ketchup!

Cucina is nice... Especially if you can eat outside on the patio next to the lake. I have eaten here before and it's always super tasty...though I wouldn't say it's a healthy option. They have a few vegetarian options on their menu marked with a V. Pretty forward thinking for Wisconsin. ;) The service was super slow today...maybe just lazy Sunday or something, as I don't remember it being an issue in the past. Our server was super sweet, regardless. The patio connects to the bakery/coffee shop...so it's a treat to grab coffee and treats afterward. We definitely enjoyed our leisurely afternoon here today!
Came for dinner while in town on business. Was very pleased with the decor, attentive and friendly staff, and the food. The squid ink linguini was delicious (a bit spicy) and their pizza was also very good. I'd go back.
Seeing that everything in this area gets booked up so fast I was actually thinking to myself "wow if its that busy then it must be good"... Service was wonderful. Our waiter looked a little too young to be serving alcohol but whatever. Still very nice staff. The food was great but the drinks were horrible. They really need better drink options and someone more experienced behind the bar. The scallops I ordered were cooked perfectly but there was no side dish. I wish the waiter would have mentioned that. It was just scallops on a plate. Not cool especially for the price! Dont think I would return on my next trip to Kohler. Step up the pasta game guys!
