Yes, go. I was really surprised by how awesome the food, shakes, and even the fries. Usually these places are oozing Sysco frozen fares, but the burgers were great, charbroiled to perfection, the shakes creamy and flavorful, and the fries were the real surprise. I was convinced by their appearance that is would be mushy Sysco fries.... so I didn't order any. I tried my wife's, and then ate them all. Order the BIg Burly. Do it!

The frozen custard here is amazing! So good. Try the caramel cashew in chocolate custard. It's great!

I never have anything but ice cream there, but it is the best ice cream around. Not super cheap, but it's worth it. Its another of the 4 drive ins in Kenosha. I like to hit them all on occasion, but I will never buy ice cream anywhere else.

I've had the ice cream here before and it was ok but I've never had the food. After looking around for a place that had hotdogs on a Sunday we decided to go here. I've only used the drive through before but It was a nice evening out so we choose to eat outside and walked in to place our order. We all ordered the Chicago style hotdog and onion rings and then waited for it to be ready. There were a lot of families getting ice cream and shakes but we were the only ones getting food. After 15 minutes of waiting I started to wonder if they forgot about us but I continued to wait patiently. Now 20 minutes had passed and out from the back comes our food. Now being from Chicago I know what a Chicago hotdog should be and this was NOT a Chicago hotdog. Sure it had the poppy seeded bun and what looked like a Vienna but didn't have the snap the a Vienna hotdog has. The tomato's they put on it looked like they got them from Taco Bell and everything else was just blah. Now on to the onion rings. The large onion ring consisted of 7 onion rings.... yep just 7. I can only imagine how many are in a small. I won't be eating the food here again, that is for sure, but on the interesting side their marquee says they have breakfast now. If anyone is looking to eat here I would pass on by and go to Culvers or McDonalds down the street.

This place drives me crazy.... they don't advertise their "flavor of the day" so cars see it and drive right in. They need to buy some crayola markers and write on their windows!!!! They could have so much more business THAT THEY DESERVE!!!! they are sooooooo........GOOD! Last night BANANA-NUT OHHHH SO YUMMMY. Their daily specials are wonderful. I love Wednesdays Breaded Pork Sandwich And Saturdays Steak Sandwich. Daily Specials come with Sandwich, Med. fry and med. soda. Gotta go it's time for lunch I am going to Shirl's.

I've found my new Fall Favorite! Nope, it's no longer visiting a pumpkin patch/apple orchard, oooor hitting up Fright Fest at Six Flags, oooor even haunted house hopping... I've moved on to Shirl's Drive-in's PUMPKIN CUSTARD. Forget about the local Culvers custard, or Kopps for those in Milwaukee, Shirl's has been family-owned for over 50 years. I'm not sure if there's any connection between the Waukegan and Zion Shirl's locations, but all I know is that if you want something quick to eat that is tasty and cheap, drive on through. They also have free wi fi for those who are webaddicts like myself.

My fiancé and I tried Shirl's for the first time just a few weeks ago. Just had a milkshake, chocolate cone, fries and onion rings as an afternoon snack. Everything was delicious!! Everything else on the large menu looks great. We will be back soon!!

My husband and I just went there with our 2 sons and the food is local nothing out of the ordinary. I went back in to get an iced late and there was no flavoring in it and when I asked I was told by one of the staff who had plenty of teeth missing that I had to shush because he didn't want his customers to know I was complaining. We won't be back!

DELICIOUS!!!!! Have been going here since I've been a baby boy and their seasonal pumpkin custard is THE best I've ever had in my entire life. And trust me on this one guys, I love and know good custard

Hands down the best custard ever! Try anything with bananas - its crazy delicious. Worth a trip from Chicago and vastly superior to Culvers. Great food too. My wife loves the Butter Pecan. By Chicago or Milwaukee standards, not expensive either. Great flavors of the day. I cannot wait to get back there.

Yummy and cheap, what more can you ask for?! Have gone her a couple times and had good experiences both times. The service is fast and friendly and both the ice cream and custards are yummy. Tried the Crunch and Cotton Candy dips and the Crunch is by far my favorite it has sprinkles and candied nuts, very good and not too sweet. The Cotton candy one is not for the faint of heart, it will send you straight to the dentist! :-) Great service, great ice cream, great prices...can't wait to go back! :-)

Shirl's is always worth the drive. The ice cream is amazing (love the malts) and service is friendly. The fries are perfectly cooked and I've had great luck with all of the sandwiches. But my nostalgic fave is a cheese grub. Horrible name, I know. It conjures up turrible images. But I assure you of it's tastiness. It definitely earns top honors in my favorite Drive-In food.
