I'm not a huge donut and pastry guy but when I'm in the mood this is the place to go. Fact, I live about 15 miles away but when you have to satisfy that weekend sweet tooth it's worth the trip. The donuts are not too heavy nor too sweet. They have several different creative pastries as well. The only real downside is that there is no place to sit down and eat it, but there is a park about a mile to the west and who doesn't like to eat alfresco every known again?

We had the cyclops, a couple of donuts and bought a loaf of italian bread. I get why this place scored so high, it doesn't have any competition. If I ever get up to Kenosha again... ill hit this spot again.

Seriously, why have I not had a Cyclops before now?!?!?! A great little bakery in Kenosha. You can call your donut order in ahead so you know you'll get what you want, especially helpful on those busy weekend mornings. The Cyclops is one of their signature treats, your standard donut covered in chocolate with a big helping of cream in the center. Not too sweet, hits the spot. The people there are super nice. Definitely worth a stop if you're in K-Town. I always buy two Cyclops'. No regrets.

My parents were both from the Kenosha/Racine area but moved up by Green Bay before I was born. When we would come down to visit we always had to have Paielli's donuts before we made the trip back home. There are many amazing donuts there but I have to say my favorites are the cyclops and cronuts. Also the long johns have the best custard filling that I have found anywhere. I would also recommend their pizza dough. We always have to buy some to take home with us. I would recommend Paielli's to anyone and I have actually already recommend it to people who head down that way.

Listed in the top 10 places to go to in Kenosha, we stopped into Paielli's bakery and we were not disappointed. While my family is use to good bakeries where we are from in the suburbs of Chicago, we were not necessarily expecting the same quality when in Kenosha. We were pleasantly surprised when we stopped in to Paielli's. High quality baked goods and extremely reasonable prices pretty much sums it up. Like any good bakery, get there early as they sell out of popular items throughout the day. We tried a variety of items and all were top notch. I was extremely surprised when at the cash register I was given a total that was less than half of what I would have paid for the same items near my home. If you are ever in the area and have a sweet tooth or need some baked goods, this is definitely the place to go.

Pretty much everything here is good. There's a few things they do great, but I've never had anything bad. Not much better on a weekend morning than some fresh donuts...

I have been here several time to get bread, tiramisu and donuts. Tasty and fresh.

Paielli's has the best tiramisu I've ever had outside of Boston. The people who work there always make nice conversation (as the Midwestern rule book dictates I suppose) and their donuts are fresh. They carry ice cream, cakes and fresh bread. They've been in business for more than 80 years and are pretty much a Wisconsin staple in my book.

I used to live near this place, and certain times of the day the aroma is just heavenly when you're in close proximity. Anyway, this place is probably one reason why I was a chubby child! Their doughnuts are spectacular. My particular favorite is the Cyclops! They also do wedding cakes and make a few unusual items like scones. Let me caution you, stay away from their "kringle" and key lime pie. The key lime pie we one time had there was utterly disgusting! Their version of kringle was very bland (stick with the Danish bakeries in Racine, it's authentic there). But as far as doughnuts go, they are the best!!!

Disclaimer: Paielli's was my first job as a teenager, growing up in Kenosha. Before working at Paielli's Bakery, my family and I were regulars. We went to the bakery every Sunday morning after church for doughnuts and a loaf of bread. Paielli's has the best doughnuts I've ever had. The yeast doughnuts are light, fluffy, flavorful, and sweet. Try the cyclops (a chocolate-frosted doughnut with a generous dab of butter cream on the top) or the chocolate pershing (a cinnamon swirl doughnut covered with chocolate) or their caramel-pecan rolls or custard-filled long johns. Arrive early on Saturday and Sunday to get the best pick of their many varieties of doughnuts. I live in Milwaukee now and cannot find doughnuts (also, I haven't found them in other cities) that compare with theirs. If you live in Milwaukee, a drive to Kenosha to visit the bakery would be a worthwhile trip. Paielli's also makes a vast array of Italian butter cookies. The cookies are homemade and perfect for the holidays, large parties, or weddings. In addition to their butter cookies, they are also always stocked in the Italian cookies, gennetis and biscottis. Gennetis are an anise-based cookie that is softer, but firmer than a cake-like cookie. Biscottis are the traditional Italian, anise toast cookie perfect for dunking in coffee or espresso. Their bread is also very good. On Saturdays, they offer a variety of hard crust rolls, from sesame to poppy to rye. Their bread is soft with a hard crust and flavorful. It's paramount as far as American-Italian bread, and is great with a sandwich or plain with butter. This bread is special. You cannot find Italian bread like this in grocery stores or in most bakeries. Paielli's is an institution in Kenosha. It has been in business for over 75 years, and the family is still an integral part of the bakery. It is a tight-knit community of people and family that offers a wonderful, historical product to the community. I will say with confidence that their baked goods are some of the best in Wisconsin. And, their doughnuts? Maybe some of the best in the country.

We were served by a teenager with a very hard voice. I don't know if she was being rude or what. Anyway, Paielli's does not ship. My dad grew up in Kenosha and on Sundays would go with his family to pick up a kringle. So everytime he visits he buys three. They freeze very well. So that's what I did. They are always fantastically tasty. It's going to be difficult to finagle their survival on the return flight. Next time I go, I'll just ask for a box per kringle, fold it up around and stack them. Then some string. It will have to be my carry-on.

Krispy Kream can just give it up! No one's got anything on Paielli's!! Grew up on their pastries. Try the Cinnamon bun topped with Buttercream and toasted Coconut.... such a great dessert that even my Sister (who didn't remember it) instantly remembered from just ONE BITE after 16 years!!! Make sure you get up early though, cause they run out fast!!

Best Italian bread in the world, without exception.
