I've now made two visits to this place under the newest ownership. While I'm glad someone is willing to keep this place alive, IMO they still have some kinks to iron out. Overall this is really more of a 2.5 star rating but I'll give them the benefit of the other half-star for making a good-faith effort to keep this place up and running.despite several previous owners struggling to do so. First visit was for a quick appetizer while I had a short window of opportunity to grab lunch. Despite the fact the place was 3/4ths empty, it took them half an hour to get it out to me. I saw two other parties walk in after me, order, and receive their food before mine came out. And when it did, a couple of appetizer bites were still frozen on the inside. You took half an hour to get it to me, you couldn't keep it in the fryer for another 45 seconds to make sure it was done? I was tight on time so I didn't have time to complain; I just paid up and got out. Second visit saw a similar theme of trying my damnedest to get service while others around me were attended to. I ordered soup, and waited. And waited, and waited, and waited. 20 minutes later the couple right next to me ordered the same soup, and theirs comes out right away. Several attempts to flag down a server to get my soup were unsuccessful. Finally, when the waitress asked the couple next to me how they were doing, they directed her attention to me. I'll say this though, once the soup finally got to me, it was very good. Along with the soup, I ordered a pizza, and at least it came out within a reasonable time. Not quite as good as that from the previous owners, but still a very serviceable tavern-style pie. I'd order it again, but only after trying a burger on my next visit. Menu selection is pared down and simplified compared to the previous iteration, which probably makes sense as the previous menu seemed maybe too up-market for a small-town shot-and-a-beer tavern. Tap selection had some decent offerings such as a couple from New Glarus, New Belgium Fat Tire, a Lienenkugel's seasonal... not a wide selection, but some good alternatives to the standard Bud/Miller/Coors options you usually find in a small-town watering hole.
