Bricks Neapolitan Pizza Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Eric and I were looking for family-friendly Hudson restaurants for a late Lunch/Early Dinner with our families. We independently chose Bricks, which is no surprise; we both manage to find quality places. Bricks is on Second St in downtown Hudson, a small vibrant little town which is just over the St. Croix River from Minnesota, about 35 miles from Minneapolis. The facade is nondescript. The interior is tastefully understated. There's some marquetry on the wood walls. On to the food! Thin crust pizza, red sauce or white. Sadly the sausage is bland. The dough is perfect. Good salads, which are free 4-6 PM M-F with a pizza! Great beer selection (local stuff, like New Glarus' Spotted Cow), Peroni (Italian,) decent wines by the glass. Very good service. I'll be back and recommend it!

This is my favorite east metro pizza place... I live 1/2 hour drive from it but it's worth it! The pizza is really delicious and their salads are downright amazing. You need to try a side salad with your pizza-- you won't be sorry. And since it's in Hudson, they serve Spotted Cow too. :) If you've never had Neapolitan style pizza, try this place out. I like it better than any other Neapolitan pizza place I've tried in the metro area.

This is the second time in three weeks I ate at Bricks. Today, my wife and my 6 year-old daughter went with me. I like the warm feeling that the wood interiors bring. Today, I had the Focaccia di Robiola and the Siciliana enhanced with Pizza Fiume. I chose a glass of Salmon Creek Cabernet Sauvignon. The overall combination was a good mix. Portions were just the right size. The atmosphere of the restaurant blends comfort, warmth and family friendliness. My only recommendation to the restaurant owner is to make the person who waited on us more friendly. Fast service is better when staff is friendlier.

My family and I love this place. We ALWAYS get the Artichoke Gratin dip w/flatbread. Could eat that for the meal alone and I'm a long way from a vegetarian. We usually get Pizza di Bricks which is always consistent. Have tried the Ricco, Pesto, Crema & Moda pizzas also (cream based sauce) which is good for a change but we always somehow go back to the di Bricks. Once while dining with a large party they gave us complimentary Gorgonzola Salads which I would probably not have ordered but now get whenever we go back it was that good. For the money, the best restaurant in Hudson for me.

Authentic as it comes. My wife and I ate at Punches and really enjoyed the pizza. We also tried the Caesar salad which we thought was delicious!! Eating at Bricks and Punch pizza is what I imagine Italian pizzerias to be like.

Best pizza in town! Fast friendly service. Delicious Neapolitan pizza and salads. Have been here about 10 times to date and never been disappointed. For pizza, although all are extremely delicious... I recommend the "Pizza Di Bricks." Toppings on this pie include Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, fresh basil, and mushrooms. (They are kind to omit the mushrooms and replace with kalamata olives). The Gorgonzola salad is yummy. Included with salads are 2 scrumptious rosemary sea-salt flat bread wedges! Their website, which includes a menu is simply: eatbricks.com The fact that you are enough of a foodie to use "Yelp" when seeking out restaurants probably indicates you are keenly aware of what "Neapolitan" style pizza is... but, in case you're not... here is the simplified version: Pizza made by preserving the tradition of the pizza as it began in Naples, Italy including using a special oven operating at approximately 900 degrees to "flash cook" the pizzas in less than 2 minutes. The other key component is using only fresh, all-natural, non-processed ingredients. Admittedly I'm biased because, as a Hudson resident, I claim Bricks as my own. It's nice having this superb restaurant so close at hand. Better than Pizzeria Bianco!... There I said it. You can't beat the 7 days a week special from 4 to 6 pm... complimentary small salad or glass of house wine with pizza purchase.

The day after Christmas and we are on the road home. On recommendation from a foodie who lives near us back home, we decided to try out Bricks. wood-fired pizza seems to be all the rage and why not give this a go. We checked out the menu online and decided it was the place to go for our celebratory goodbye dinner before a very long drive ahead of us. We were sat immediately just before a bunch of people came in. What we didn't realize (though should've expected) was the slower-than-usual service. We ordered a salad to share while our pizza was cooking. We were happy to do so since we could get caught up, but we also were a little worried that our order was not being filled. In fact, others who arrived after we did were getting their pizzas. We chalked it up to the holidays. When the pizza did arrive, it was delightful. Cooked to perfection and, with the salad, a perfect light meal that was easy to share. You'll enjoy the atmosphere, which could almost be mistaken for the lobby of a high end lodge in some ways. It's beautiful.

My review for Bricks is quite simple: -Delicious pizza. -Great price. -Excellent beverage menu. -Attentive service. -Manager Wes is great.

I went with my aunt to Bricks because we both wanted to try something different and I had recently returned from a trip to Italy and wanted to compare experiences. The service was a little slow, but the food was good. The main problem I had was with the wine selection. They only had one wine from Italy on the list, and it was a red. While it was good, I was surprised that a restaurant that does so well on it's food would shirk on the wine list.

The two of us went there for an early Sunday dinner. My wife and her friends had Brick's pizza a while ago and she never forgot the wonderful crusty pizza. I'm glad she suggested the place for us; it's all she remembered it to be. Bricks is not a 'red pizza' kind of place. It's one of the 'woodfire' restaurants that has a bona fide brick oven -- flames and all -- in the back. Don't expect greasy, mozzo-casein calamities like Pizza Hut's fare. Do expect a genuine flat bread crust, quality cheeses and subtle flavor. The place has sandwiches, antipasti, local beers, wine-by-the-glass and pizza. The pizzas are ten-inchers, meant for a single person. They also have a 'white pizza' list. We each started with a salad. Not a leaf of iceberg in the properly-sized bowl. Instead, there was an assortment of fresh greens with two still-warm wedges of flat bread brushed with rosemary-olive oil. I had a 'citrus' salad with cranberries and perfectly browned slivered almonds. The citrus was mostly grapefruit, but mildly sweet and delish. I was pretty happy, considering i am not a fan of grapefruit. I also had a bottle of a only-in-Wisconsin beer called 'Spotted Cow.' Cold and smooth. It hit the spot. My main course was the 'Moda' pizza from the 'white' menu. Perfect flat bread crust with Italian sausage, roasted peppers and silky smooth, fresh ricotta cheese. I think I tasted a bit of lemon in the cheese.Yum. Moda was pretty and perfumed of sausage-fennel. It was gone in a handful of minutes. I had nothing to take home. I uploaded pictures of my pizza and salad. The storefront is more art gallery than 'Italian Pie.' All blond wood and subtle touches, with a big swoosh of metal-lights on one side. Definitely NOT a Buca de Beppo. Service was attentive and friendly. Other exceptional points: 1. They offer black, cloth napkins that are free of polyester. 2. Wi-Fi signal, for free 3. Fresh red pepper flakes. Two tips: 1. If you get there before 6:00, they offer an 'early-bird' deal: a free small salad like I had or a FREE glass of house wine. 2. The restaurant is just up from the water front. Take your sweetie there for a romantic meal at their little tables, then make your way down to the river to stroll along the jetty and watch the sun set.

I have my own pizza oven at home & have gotten into Neapolitan pizzas. This place is the real deal the pizza is excellent it's really woodfired and their salads are awesome too. It's the best woodfired Pizza east of the Mississippi. if you want a lots of greasy slop and salt on a piece of dough don't go here. Go to Pizza Hut.

Good pizza made with quality ingredients. Expensive for what it is, though. Also, the centers of the crust are always a bit soggy. I've found this with many pizza places in the midwest, so I don't know if it's more then standard. Either way, it's not my preference. I adore their prosciutto-wrapped asparagus.

Went here with a friend this Friday after San Pedro had an hour wait :(. The service was pretty good, nothing spectacular. I got the GUSTO, itialian ham, roasted peppers, blue cheese. It was ok. There was hardly any blue cheesy flavor though. Overall I might go again but I think there are other neapolitan pizza is a lot better. The wine was good too. The menus were kind of dirty also which almost made me leave for some reason.

Me likes my Bricks! We've been coming here since it opened. This pizza is for those that appreciate a great pie. My only negative comment about Bricks is that I wish they had more to offer for drinks. Beer, wine and pop. When Bricks first opened they offered Italian sodas which were like lemonade (various flavors actually), with fizz. I don't like soda pop and you don't always want wine or beer but are bored out of your gourd with water. A tip, I wouldn't order a pizza to go. It gets a little soggy in the middle. Eat it at the restaurant and enjoy!

This is the best pizza I have ever had. Priced very well!!! Also the salads are so good! Service could be a little more friendly. I have eaten the sandwiches as well and LOVE them.

nice ambience...great place for a date IMO. Pizza was really good...top 3 for the Twin Cities area according to me for true neopolitan pizza. Just looking at couple of reviews...it seems people don't know that this type of pizza is meant to be lightly topped and not caked with ingredients.

  • Toonce V.

First time eating here and I must say that the pizza was fantastic. Hot, crisp crust. Very balanced sauce. The toppings evenly spread across the pizza. And just the right amount of brick oven char.

A little full of themselves and the prices are high for what it is. I will take Punch over this place any day. The pizza taste good but they are stingy with the cheese as one reviewer already mentioned. Service was top notch ---a gem of a gal with a great sense of humor. Wine and beer only and the wine is around 7-8 for a small short glass bottle beer is 5.00 for new glarus so it really adds to your tab. Also the atmosphere does nothing for me. I spend 35.00 for a small personal pizza and a glass of wine and a beer...I felt a little cheated with this experience. Probably will pass on this place in the future. It is not the only option in the area.

My husband is a born-in-Milano Italian and we have eaten many pizzas in Italy. This is the real thing--and in Hudson, Wisconsin! Woo-hoo! We often go to Bricks with the in-laws, who tend to be purists and stick with the pizza margherita. However, we have been here enough times that we've branched out just for variety, and we've never had a disappointing pizza. Their salads are fresh and generously sized; I'm nuts ;-) about the gorgonzola-pecan salad. The atmosphere is sophisticated without being haughty. Servers are friendly and accommodating, and prices are reasonable.

I still travel here frequently from Minneapolis with my friend whenever we have a pizza craving that we can't itch in the cities. Luckily for us, 45 minutes (or less, if I'm driving) and we're there menus in hand drooling over which pizza to get this time. today it was the Capagnola, with perfect sun-dried tomatoes, tangy goat cheese, mushrooms lots of fresh basil and salty proscuitto. The crust is always doughy and chewy (in the best possible ways) and on the thin side without being crispy at all. Love their gorgonzola salad - a must order in my book - was a perfect balance of bleu cheese, crunchy and sweet walnuts and crisped proscuitto. The dressing is a light vinaigrette giving the salad the tart acidity that it needs. I love coming here and am always surprised to see how few people are dining whenever we're there. We asked the waitress if they delivered locally and she said that they didn't. So, I implore you to come take a trip to Hudson's cute main street and check out this tiny pizza place with the best pizza for miles. To further tempt you, I learned that Bricks is one of a few restaurants that is VPN certified. This mean that they have been approved by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana and have met their strict guidelines for pizza making. Sounds official and super fancy to me. But you'll have to taste this for yourself to know exactly why this certification is very well-earned.

Couldn't get into the busy restaurant down the road and decided to eat here. We were all pleasantly surprised. The pizza was very much like the pizza in Italy. Mine was a bit soggy in the middle but could be because of the toppings. The flavor was still good though.

Simple, straightforward, delectable Neapolitan pizzas and great salads. Split one of each with a glass of wine and you have a great beginning of a date night or lunch. Not expensive - much cheaper than a trip to Italy! Not Pizza Hut thank goodness!

My girlfriend and I went there on an off-hour time and still received great food in a great time. The bruschetta was awesome, and the pizza was even better. The prices are great, and the theme is very modern, not childish (which everyone seems to associate with pizza, sadly), so eating at Brick's is very enjoyable. With that said don't think it's stuffy or snooty, either. Customers will also enjoy brand consistency through the decor, music, and print, as the logo and theme fit perfectly within the restaurant, which kept me looking around and taking in the feel up until we got our food. I highly recommend Brick's for anyone.

We got there at 5 and were the only ones there, albeit a Monday. The pizza was very good, they had generous use of tomatoes, tasty crust. When we were there they were offering specials with purchase of each pie, which we happily accepted. It is too bad you can't really see the brick oven from the tables, but maybe I'm being picky. The salads were great too!

Better than Punch? Debatable. Good Napo' style pizza but much more sauce than cheese, which is not exactly how it is made at Punch. The sauce is quite nice, though. The server goofed up my son's "bambino" pizza and it had to be re-made. While the rest of his family ate their pizzas. 12 minutes later his pizza returned to the table and was incredibly hot. He was hungry but we cautioned him not to eat it right away. So after another few minutes of nothing he got to eat alone as we all looked at him. I almost expected his pizza to be free, given all that drama, but Brick's left it on the bill. Instead of disputing the bill I paid and we left. The salads are quite wonderful at Brick's. Wish I could say the same for the service.

Great pizza! I order the chicken one every time. Pair it with the citrus salad, glass of red wine and you have a perfect meal.

When it comes to Neapolitan style, Punch is the gold standard with which I will compare all others to. The free salad with happy hour was an awesome deal, and the salad was delicious. Pizza was crispy, but needed olive oil. Punch was better, but I would recommend.

We opted to spend our Black Friday in Hudson and traded shopping for eating at at Bricks--an excellent idea all around. Bricks offers Neapolitan pizza in the Punch vein, e.g. pizzas topped with quality ingredients emerging from a wood fired oven. As Tim noted in his review, Bricks is VPN certified, which means you will be getting the real deal (check out the restaurant's website for a detailed list of what is entailed with VPN certification). We started our meal with the Gorgonzola salad, which mixed romaine with Gorgonzola, bacon, pecans and a sweet dressing. The sweetness of the Gorgonzola bounced off the salty bacon and sweet crunch of nut, all to our mutual dining pleasure: We left no salad behind. For pizza, we shared the Salsiccia, a zippy little pie sporting Italian sausage, olives and roast red peppers. It being Black Friday, we opted for the DOC upgrade, which bought us fresh buffalo mozzarella and a drizzle of EVOO for a couple of bucks extra. The fresh mozz added a buttery smoothness to the spicy sausage and savory olive flavors, and the pizza too was eaten in a flash. The overall goodness of the food was complimented by the extremely friendly and skilled service as well as the pleasant and attractive design of the physical space. Next time you're in the area, take a detour from the usual Hudson dining choices (typically some variation on "a burger and fries") in favor of the fresh, woodfired pizza mirth offered at Bricks.

Atmosphere was excellent - a mix of families with children, young & old, couples & tables of friends. I had the stuffed mushrooms, which were spicy, perfectly cooked & hearty. I also tried the Verde pizza, with prosciutto & arugula. The crust was perfect, chewy, crusty, with that fire stove earthiness to it....I only wished there was more arugula on top. I was happy with their wine list, too. All in all, I was surprised at how unassuming the place was, for how excellent the food was.

Fantastic pizza. I would put it next to Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix anytime. I had the Bricks special with Italian sausage, basil, red onion, re pepper and mushrooms and the flavors went so well together. The crust was perfectly baked. I couldn't believe that this place wasn't lined up out the door but it was Monday night and I was glad it wasn't. Thanks to the top reviewer for the recommendation.

The deals at Bricks are too good!!!! I regularly visit Bricks even from St. Paul not just because we love the pizza, salads, and divine stuffed mushrooms....we leave very happy with a bottle of good wine (10 bucks!), 2 pizzas, and 2 salads with focaccia for under $30. For a night out with your honey and a short drive, you can't beat it.

My son took me to this restaurant for my birthday lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I was surprised at how small the place was but it was clean and the service was very quick and friendly. We each had our own pizzas, the names of which I can't remember but you could tell right away that the ingredients were very fresh and the taste was outstanding. My favorite part was the kalamari olives that they use on the pizzas (if you order them), very tasty! I would definitely go back. If you are expecting fast food pizza, this is not the place to go.

Finally! I made it here. The pizza was pretty darn good, the waitress was a little so-so but sweet, and the interior was a bit too hard (too many hard surfaces=loud as heck even when it's not that loud). But all in all, I've never had such a tasty, light pizza in Hudson before. Definitely a good go-to place for a light lunch from now on. (I was a little disappointed in the pizza margherita though... not enough basil and too much cheese... although, when in Wisconsin, etc... Man. I never though I'd think "too much cheese"... I am ashamed!)

My mom and dad introduced me to this place a month or two ago, and I can honestly say that I would drive all the way to Hudson (from Minneapolis) to eat here now and again even if I weren't meeting them. It's delicious!! They were pretty understaffed when we went, but it didn't seem to phase our server at all. (It was a Sunday night and we weren't in hurry either.) We each had a salad and pizza. I completely overate and couldn't have cared less. The only thing that convinced me to share was getting to try some of everyone else's too. Prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was nice. If you ever find yourself in Hudson - or need an excuse to go - find your way to Brick's!

Have been there a couple of times. The vibe is quiet and sweet, and the food is tremendous. The last time I was there, though, my friend was waiting for me, and already had a drink. We were the only two there, and our server took it upon herself to yell from the kitchen area to our table (across the entire room) to ask me if I wanted something to drink. Shocking. She proceeded to surprise us with her lack of professionalism, finishing by asking if she could eat our leftovers for lunch. The food is the saving grace, as the acoustics are a little rough (especially if there are kids there) and the ambiance is lacking. I like the non-profit aspect of the place. It's a sweet place, just needs some sweet servers... I'd definitely opt for take out next time.

Went for lunch, order the artichoke dip - to die for!! They give you pizza crust instead of traditional chips. My wife and I split the Gorgonzola salad and artichoke panini, both were fantastic. A little on the high side, not your everyday lunch spot, but worth checking out. We will go back.

We went here last Friday, a group of five with two small children. I found the atmosphere nicely comfortable and the staff perfectly amiable / friendly. We didn't have to wait any more than to be expected. While looking over the menu I worried that there would be no options for the kids, the waiter pointed out that I missed the Bambino which is a kids-size cheese pizza, which was perfect for my two (5yr & 3yr) to split. Everyone left well-satisfied, and we would all return.

Great pizza and I love the salads , and I am not a salad person but here I will have only a salad if I go for lunch , small place with a great friendly staff , you have allot of choices when in Hudson and this is a can't miss

What is going on in downtown Hudson? Who thought it would be a good idea to bring good pizza to the people of this fine area? Tractors and rusty pickups don't know what basil is. With my nose high and my top hat tipped just so, I strolled into Bricks. Mind you, I was also just at Punch in the city, so I was ready to punch some bricks?... *crickets* I digress. We tried a artichoke dip starter and 2 pizzas. The dip was good, it wasn't super greasy or salty. The bread was a tasty focaccia instead of french. The pizza was a classic fire cook pizza with the normal stuff. I thought it was pretty darn good given where I was at. It would like growing up in a one horse town, and for some reason someone put a really upscale NY cafe there. why? beats me, the place was completely dead when I went there. But if you live here or are passing by on your way to Minnesota or Wisconsin, stop by! It's worth it!

I'm surprised there is only one other review for this place. I'd like to see it talked up more. The first thing you need to know about Bricks is the owner donates the profits from the business to Compassion Now, a charity that "serves underprivileged children in developing countries." The second thing you need to know is that it is, like Punch, a VPN-certified pizzeria. For more information on VPN, go to: verapizzanapoletana.org/… When I ate here the first time, shortly after it opened, my first thought was that it was a direct rip-off of Punch. The menus are very similar to the extent that the pizzas have identical names and toppings. What Bricks has over Punch is the selection of other menu items. Also, with the exception of the Caesar, Bricks' salads are better than Punch's. Between the two, Punch's pizzas have a better flavor, particularly with two of the most important ingredients: the crust and mozzarella. For those who are concerned about portion sizes, Bricks' pizzas are slightly smaller than Punch's. Service is friendly and attentive but unobtrusive. Since we live about the same distance from Bricks and the Highland Park Punch, we alternate between the two restaurants. I no longer think of Bricks as a rip-off of Punch. I see them more as a supporter of the tradition of Neapolitan pizza, and we are lucky to have a wealth of such places in the area. The charity angle also makes them an appealing alternative.

In ten reviews no one has given this place less than 4 stars, yeh, it's that good. Definitely the best Neapolitan pizza in the Twin Cities, and downtown Hudson is like a little mini weekend getaway location. It's cute. It Brick's the best pizza in the Twin Cities . . I think it is number two behind Snap.

I love Bricks. It is perfect for a casual dinner with friends and even more perfect for lunch. The pizza is authentic neopolitain style -- only a handful of restaurants in the country can officially say they make this kind of pizza, this is one of them. It is excellent and appropriate to order one pizza per person - just as you might in Italy. My personal favorite is the Artichoke Gratin Dip -- it is hands down the best I've ever had. They also offer a wide range of excellent salads (my favorite is the gorgonzola with candied pecan) and paninnis. My only disappointment is that they serve wine in regular glasses. I know this is done occasionally in Italy, but I love to have my red wine in a wine glass with a long stem and big bowl. The atmosphere doesn't promote romance, so if you want romantic in Hudson, try a table at Pier 500 near the fireplace.

  • Nikki B.

I would definately go back to Bricks again. The pizza is not what I am normally used to as they didn't have sauce on them, but I definately thought it was very good and would recommend the place to anyone. Pizzas were a nice size, since my husband and I were STARVING we each got our own. I ordered the bianca and my husband ordered the Pollo e Crema. Both were very good. It was like they had butter as the sauce and then they topped it with different cheeses. The types of cheeses on your pizza depended on which one you chose - Iknow that mine had goat cheese and some other cheeses. The restaurant was located right on main street in Hudson, make sure to watch out for the black BRICKS sign, as we drove past it the first time.

I've been here several times now. Every time it has been excellent. The salads are some of the most creative and delicious I've ever eaten outside of a fine dining restaurant. In fact, Bricks' salads was just written up as the number two best dish in 2008 by a critic at the Pioneer Press. I haven't eaten anywhere else on the list but I can't disagree with the writer. Very impressive! The pizzas are great too. They are true Neapolitan pizzas like Punch. They are just as good as Punch - probably not better but just as good. I've tried several kinds and they were all excellent. One pizza is just about the right size for one adult but not so much that you wouldn't want a salad as an appetizer. One tip: If you get there before six like us (we have two young children), you get either a salad or glass of wine free as a early bird special. How many places that you know of do something like that? Do yourself a favor and pull off of I-94 as you're heading to/from the Twin Cities and grab yourself some pizza, if you're in the mood.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
