Horrible experience. The house special fried rice had no flavor and barely had any meat the only good portion of meat was the shrimp, so basically I got a box of unseasoned rice, the fried wontons were super hard and over fried the meat inside looked black because it burned, not only that it took a while to get order from a very unfriendly front clerk/cook

Now that it is Xiaos kitchen it's not good . Fried rice is plain rice in sesame oil . Not really fried rice. They offer it as an option when you order but then he charges extra for it . Meal is supposed to come with egg roll he didn't include . I asked and he said next time . Really ? Food is mediocre . I don't think the Chinese would eat this .

I disagree with the previous review. It is now Xiao's but the large sign still says Chen's. I was suspect when the new owner took over. But the food is still excellent. This place is carry-out only. Although you could eat in, the atmosphere leaves something to be desired. The owner works his butt off, with no help. Nevertheless, even though there is an occasional error on the order, the quality is very good.

I used to live in a heavily Asian section of Los Angeles so I was skeptical when I moved to quite literally the middle of nowhere and discovered a Chinese restaurant directly behind my house. My skepticism quickly turned to pleasant surprise however. In fact, they are easily the best Chinese food I've ever eaten. I live in Chicago now and I really miss their PHENOMENAL Crab Rangoon (among other things). I only hope this wonderful mom-and-pop restaurant survives. With food that good, they could easily thrive in a large metropolitan area, but they provide authentic and delicious cuisine at a very affordable price to an area that otherwise lacks ethnic dining options. Two thumbs WAY up!

Best Chinese takeout in the area. They will deliver to Mayville. Try the Szechuan Chicken. Yum.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
