What a discovery for Chicagoans in Harland, WI!! Our first experience at Zesti was awesome!! From the modern rustic decor to the eclectic European inspired menu to my incredibly moist salmon encrusted with ricotta and herbs, everything was delightful. All of our choices were befitting of the name...Zesti!!

We have been here 5 times (lunch and dinner). It has great food and a decor. Reminds me of some of the places we visit in Brooklyn NY which has terrific new restaurants. It was fun to have the big windows opened on a warm night. It can be loud sometimes and gets very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.

Husband and I went for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The place was packed; which to us was a good sign that the food would be excellent. It was. The presentation was gorgeus; the portions large; and the taste was out of this world. The menu holds so many different food choices to choose from, it was hard to decide which one to try first. Our server's name was Drew and he went above and beyond to make sure we had the very best of service. HIGHLY recommend for the food, service, and fun atmosphere!

Our visit to Zesti came after much anticipation and excitement. If I could sum it up in one word, I would call it "underwhelming." Granted, it's still an extremely new place, and with that will be growing pains while the restaurant works out some kinks, but ultimately, we were far from blown away. The place looks great, though; I'll give it that. Like many others here have mentioned, the place is very, very loud. I don't think it's quite as bad as some make it seem, but it's definitely not a place you can have an intimate conversation. The service was average, at best. Our waitress quickly took our appetizer order, and literally 2 minutes later, came back and asked if we were ready to order the entrees too, which of course we were not, as we'd just been seated several minutes prior. Oddly, all of our food was actually served to us by someone other than our own waitress. Our appetizer was brought to us by one of the bussers, and our entrees by another waitress. ( * Side note: Let me take a moment to commend the busboys here. They were really, really great. There were several, and they were all extremely attentive, friendly, asked how everything was, thanked us for coming, etc. Busboys don't get much credit for what they do, but the guys here were outstanding and, frankly, did a far better job than the actual waitstaff.) Okay, on to the whole reason for the visit: the food. The menu has a nice concept, with a variety of dishes from all over the world. For the appetizer, we chose the frute di mare (a seafood "symphony" with shrimp, scallops, mussels and clams). The seafood was pretty good, though we've certainly had better - and fresher - elsewhere. For the most part, I liked the taste of the white wine tomato broth the seafood was swimming in, but it was a bit watery, and just really didn't taste all that special or different. So, while pretty good, this was kind of underwhelming. For our entrees, we ordered the veal schnitzel and the tortelloni. I'm a big fan of veal, and unfortunately, this veal was underwhelming (Noticing the trend here?). It was cooked well enough, and was indeed tender, but I'd call it average. There just wasn't anything that set it apart from any other veal I've had. It came with some caramelized cabbage, red potatoes for the starch, and a mustard and lemon aioli, which worked pretty well with the flavor of the meat. The "hero" dish (and truthfully the only one that was genuinely very good) of the night was the tortelloni. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and was stuffed with ricotta cheese, herbs and chicken. It came in a creamy Dijon-style sauce, which was quite good, and complemented the dish perfectly. All in all, we'll likely come back to give Zesti another shot, but let's just say we're not in any real hurry.

I honestly can't find any thing negative about this restaurant other the fact that it took us a week to get reservations, which in my opinion simply validates how good the meals are at Zesti. We look forward to going back to try something different. If you are wondering what cactus tastes like... Green peeper consistency with very little taste. Call days in advance or use OpenTable to get a reservation. BTW... the larger overhead garage doors on the front of the building will be open once the weather turns warm. Look very much forward to it. Happy Eating!

Please don't go to Zesti. Truly. After three visits in (roughly) three weeks, I feel compelled to request that you stay the heck away. Because it's small. And I want to be sure I can get a table. Why? Well, Feker's home run of a menu, for starters. It's rare that I can find more than a few entrees to tempt my palate. At Zesti, I could only narrow the field to eight possible options. That speaks to the breadth and ingenuity of the inclusions. Highlights to date include: Starters: Filet de bœuf (Beef and chicken and delicious meatball served on the creamiest polenta ever.) Polpetta (Tenderloin. Pommes Frite ... heavenly) Salads: Insalata di Buratta (Buratta = swoon) Insalata di Farro (Cauliflower AND Prosciutto?! I'm in.) Main Courses: Spaghetti Bolognese (Family recipe I might be willing to kill for.) Côte de bœuf (Shortribs and savory veggies in a burgundy demi-glace - NOM) All the above and more are served in a rustic atmosphere with cool details, accompanied by a solid wine list and tasty cocktails. (Try the cucumber martini - believe me.) For the gluten sensitive, Zesti is a home run. The vast majority of their menu is available gluten free! Service is still gelling a bit, but that's to be expected in a restaurant that is brand new. They're off to a roaring start, so I have every expectation that minor wrinkles in timing will be ironed out. Everyone we've encountered has been friendly and courteous. Brunch looks like it's as amazing as dinner, and I will update once I have an opportunity to try it!

Good food and I would definitely go back! Our party of four had two apps, three salads, and a pasta each - we never made it to their 'main course' or dessert options and certainly left full. This restaurant was packed for the two hours we were there and as others have mentioned very loud. I think they would have to take half the tables/people out to make it any less noisy and I doubt that's going to happen. The service was a bit slow, we had to wave two people down to get our check... yet as I mentioned, it was packed. Price-wise it was about $40 per person before tip with one cocktail each....

Opening day and the brunch was fantastic. Great variety of food on the menu from all around the world. Chef came out to greet us and the staff was very personable. We look forward to coming back for dinner soon. Best of luck and congratulations to the entire staff.

The food is amazing, however the restaurant was extremely loud-- people's voices carried and echoed. Our party left with headaches due to the noise. We won't be back unless it's take out to go orders. Our party had the lamb entree, beef stew, seafood Mac and cheese, and the lasagna. All were excellent. The Caesar salad could have used more dressing.

Just had dinner at Hartland's newest restaurant Zesti Service was very good and our waiter made some outstanding recommendations. He shared a big bold red wine for $35 and when we inquired about two menu entrees, the lamb shank and the braised beef short ribs he said they were both outstanding . We ordered each and agreed with his recommendations. We had tiramisu for dessert which was a large portion leaving plenty for sharing. Very nice rustic atmosphere with some interesting light fixtures. Only complaint about Zesti was that it was a little loud. Could have that a large group was cocktailing at their table and perhaps should have stayed in the bar area until they were ready to sit down.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch last week Friday. I was under the impression it had been open for a couple of weeks as a couple of friends had mentioned they ate there recently (one was a private event). I was a bit surprised when I heard that it had just opened that week. Clearly some kinks need to be worked out, but nothing major that can't be overcome. Service was slow (hour and 20 minutes for lunch) and two of the tap beers I wanted were out. The room is very loud, but I like the decor, so not sure what they can do about the noise. We waited a very long time for our soup (wife) and salad (me). My wife's soup (potato leek) was good, my salad was fine, nothing great, nothing bad about it. I had ordered the bahn mi sandwich and it was OK. I'm not an expert on this sandwich, so I can't comment on how authentic it may or may not have been, but it certainly didn't seem very authentic to me. But it was good enough that I polished it all off. My wife ordered their version of a cobb salad and she was disappointed. It was obvious the chicken had been grilled long ago over a wood fire that clearly generated way too much smoke. The rest of the salad was fine, but the chicken had a very unappealing taste to it. I am certainly willing to try eating here again as it was, as I mentioned, soon after its full launch. Certainly saw enough potential to be willing to come back.

My wife and I had dinner at Zesti last night. It was the first "official" night of being open after their grand opening celebration the night before. We were anxious to have Michael Feker's talents out in Lake Country with some new flavors and new ideas. First off, the restaurant is quite nice inside. It used to be an old office space and they have done a very nice job pulling an industrial look together. From the Edison bulb chandeliers to the rough-dawn board paneling, it looks very good inside. The downside is that all of the hard surfaces makes it very loud inside. Also, the glass garage doors will be great to open when warmer weather permits for some great tables along the sidewalk. We had a reservation, arrived early, and decided to check out the bar. The bartender (Brian) was neither warm, nor welcoming and seemed put off by the simple request of asking for a wine list. Not a great introduction to a brand new restaurant. No mention of any recommendations, specialty cocktails, or anything else. The Zesti Old Fashioned (with brandy of course) was done very well with their own bourbon soaked cherries. The sparkling wine by the glass was a California Brut, but was actually quite sweet in flavor. We were seated in the dining room next to the garage door windows. It was a bit odd to have high-top tables in the dining room as you were then 2 feet above the other diners. I see why they did this as the garage door windows are higher than a normal tabletop, but you felt like a lifeguard of the dining room sitting at them. Our server Angie was great throughout dinner. Attentive without being intrusive, helpful with recommendations, and did a good job pacing things. Now, let's chat about the food. The menu offered a mix of Feker flavors. Some middle eastern, some Italian, some Mexican, and some in-between. We started with the Zesti version of the Caesar salad which pairs up a normal Caesar with crumbled bacon, crispy Spanish onions, hard-boiled egg, grated parmesan, and a light Caesar dressing. I ordered it without the egg. When it arrived, it had tons of egg, but no onions. I sent it back and Angie then brought out a fresh salad with no egg and no onions. Not sure if there was a communication mixup or if the coveted Spanish onion was out of season, but would have been great to have the onion flavor to complete the salad. I ordered the Pollo Infundido, a 12-spice boneless chicken with cilantro black beans and grilled cactus over a tomatillo and ancho sauce as my entrée. My wife ordered the special of the evening which was wild-caught Scottish salmon with polenta over a chimichurri and ancho sauce. Both entrees were lukewarm when they arrived, but the good news is that they were delicious. The chicken was done well. Not too juicy, not too dry and the spices worked with the sauce to give it a bit of heat, but not too much to overwhelm. The beans were lacking the cilantro as-advertised and there were very few on the plate. Would have loved more. Overall, it was great. The salmon was done very well without being dry, and while the sauce seemed an odd choice for salmon, it worked very well. The polenta was flavorful and very good too. The sidecar ordered during dinner was very good with a unique and different twist on an old classic cocktail. The Cherry Cosmo my wife ordered tasted much like a rum punch you would get in the Caribbean, not a balanced mix of flavors and Kool-Aid-like sweet. My wife also ordered tea which was great except that the water was warm at best when it arrived at our table. We didn't try the desserts as we were offered tiramisu, chocolate/hazelnut cake, and crème brulee. I saw later on the online menu that they had a featured gelato and sorbet that we weren't offered. Would have been nice to have a lighter option offered after a big meal. Overall, after a cold welcome, the food lived up to Feker standards. Could have had a bit hotter entrees and a few minor service gaffes, but for an opening night, it was very good overall. We look forward to trying it again for their lunch and brunch options and are glad to have another fine choice in Lake Country.

Came here a couple of weeks ago for an impromptu lunch. I the the chianti risotto with beef tenderloin. It absolutely fabulous and I still think about it and find myself craving in weeks later. My entree came with a salad with a house dressing, some terrific and crusty bread. The wine list was good with several by the glass selection. For dessert I had that days special of a pear in puff pastry which the perfect end to such a wonderful meal. Zesti is fabulous and a must add to everyones list but now I'm afraid I may not be able to get a table the next time I go.

Fantastic!! The Harland area really needed a place like this, I've ate lunch there twice now and each time the food was wonderful. I love the fact you get a salad with each sandwich and everything is so tasty. The prices are very reasonable and i would highly recommend it, I'll be going back many more times. Carl T.

Excellent, it is great to have a restaurant with a more complex and unusual menu in the area. Cool atmosphere, attentive staff. It is going to be a repeat. We had stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer which were wonderful. Both mine and my husbands entrees were very good!

Oh no....no.. no.....! With great expectation I awaited Chef Fecker coming to Hartland. Still GREAT Fecker food..but the environment...oh my. It was so loud...so...so loud that I pushed to leave our dining experience early. The restaurant is very small and needless to say the ecoustics stink. I am so disappointed. I will still stop in for a drink and maybe an app...but I don't think I could do a dinner there. Darn it! I love chef Fecker!

Loved the salad that came with my lunch and the neat atmosphere. Our waitress recommended the Croque Monsieur. It was fine, but nothing too spectacular. Will come again though as overall I think it is a great addition to Hartland.

I waited to write a review until I could experience brunch, lunch and dinner. Let me start with brunch. It was delicious. You start out with homemade bread and a cinnamon butter with a strawberry jam type sauce. I had a Bloody Mary, which was amazing. My husband and I kind of shared it. They have a Bloody Mary bar set up. You take a plate and stack a bunch of food on it to dip into your Bloody. They had at least 10 veggies (asparagus, mushrooms, pickles, olives, carrots and so on). The shrimp was some of the best shrimp I have ever had. Most places that offer cold shrimp just don't do it right. This was perfect. They also had chicken and another meat, I believe, too. And they give you a small bottle of Miller Lite beer as well. I also ordered the Argentina. Although, the Bloody may be enough for most people, as it was really filling and I was terribly full when I left. The brunch entrees are small in my opinion. For $11-13 each, I thought the plates would be larger. But I suppose it's just brunch. And as I said, if you get a Bloody too, you will be really full, almost overly. Anyhow, the Argentina was delicious. The empanadas were perfect. I couldn't even recall what was supposed to be in them by the time I received them, but it was amazing. It only came with about one small new potato cut in half and 2 grapes and 1 piece cantaloupe and watermelon or something similar. The spinach was a nice serving, as I am not big on spinach unless it's spinach leaves in a salad. My husband had the France. Now some may assume it is a duck quiche. It is not. It is a nice portion of shredded duck and a tiny quiche next to it. My husband did not enjoy the dressing on the salad as much as the dressing on the lunch salad we had. Not sure if it's the same and just a different batch or if it was different entirely. He did enjoy his plate though. We went around 11am and it wasn't completely full, but almost. It wasn't terribly loud either. Lunch was our favorite. We would most likely go back for lunch or brunch over dinner. You start out with a soup or salad and a slice of homemade bread. We both tried the salad. It was the best side salad, starter type salad, we have ever tried. It had a homemade oilive oil, herb and vinegar dressing that was soooo good. Dip your bread in it, you won't be disappointed. The salad itself had greens with some matchstick type carrots and some cucumber chunks. No onion. I hate raw onions with a passion and was so happy to see that they didn't have any on my salad. I had the France. It was delicious. I am usually not big on ham on my grilled cheese but this was so good that it didn't matter. I also enjoyed the "tomato soup" dipping sauce because I am a dipper when it comes to my grilled cheese. The french fries were so good that I did not use ketchup or any other form of sauce or seasoning on them. They had parmesan on them I believe. Plenty of flavor. My husband had the Vietnam. He loved it. He also loved the fries and didn't feel like they needed anything extra. We went on a weekday about noon. It was pretty packed but not too noisy. Dinner was our least favorite. Not so much because of the quality of food though. First of all, it was really packed on Friday night at 8pm. I believe every single table was booked, including the bar seats. It was so noisy that I could barely hear my husband talking when he leaned into me and spoke by my ear. I really think it may have been the noisiest restaurant I have ever been to. I don't know if it was the crowd that night or the acoustics in the building, but it was bad. They start you out with homemade herb bread and an olive oil with a garlic "spread" in the middle of the oil. A little of the garlic spread goes a long way. I ordered the seafood mac and cheese. There was plenty of lobster and shrimp. I felt the proportion between the pasta, sauce and seafood was perfect. The cheese was not your usual kids cheddar. I couldn't make out what it was exactly but it was delicious. I felt that it was almost a little too much compared to the entrees my husband and son ordered. My husband had the lasagna. I realize that usually at most places it is only a small slice and that is what it was here too. BUT it was also $16. My husband loved it and felt like it was a good size. But I felt that it was too small per the $ amount. My son ordered the France entree. It was a small braised short rib on a small amount of mashed potatoes for $20. Yes, the food is excellent, but I just question the prices for how much you actually receive. AND they don't give you a soup or salad with dinner. I think it's odd to give the soup or salad with lunch and have really good prices and tons of food. No one wants to fill up on lunch. I would recommend serving the soup or salad with dinner and removing it from the lunch menu. This way I can justify spending $20 on that short rib, knowing a salad or soup came with it. Zesti is our new favorite restaurant in Hartland .

Great service and great food. My wife and I ordered the stuffed eggplant to get started and it was fantastic. For the main course we had the spaghetti and seafood pasta - again, the portions were perfect and the food was amazingly flavorful. Cocktails were good but pricey ($10 -$12), we tried the mojito and the brandy old-fashioned. I would highly recommend Zesti, but as other reviewers have stated, this restaurant was packed and quite noisy. Make sure you grab a reservation well in advance!

Had a few drinks at the bar to start. Good service and ok drinks. Went to a table for dinner, didn't care for the waitress; seemed to be annoyed with us. Didn't care for our menu questions and requests for more water. Food was ok but not great. We never were offered dessert. Parking was an issue but I expected that. Have heard good and bad about this restaurant so they will get another chance and an extra star today.

I travel a lot and understand things get lost in transit. Yet sitting on the Zesti' patio I can see the kitchen, so how the hell did my food get lost? While our server was apologetic waiting an hour plus for pasta and chicken blows me away! Atmosphere - great People - great Food - still waiting

This was our 3rd time to Zesti. Food is great and atmosphere isn't bad either. My wife and my favorite on the menu is the bolognese. Chef Feker actually cooked this for one of his Sunday cooking shows and I attempted to replicate at home. I give myself 3 stars compared to his at 5 stars. Only down side is the load dining area. Better to sit in bar as it's not as loud. Enjoy

The food and atmosphere were very nice and we were seated immediately. However the service was extremely slow and did next to nothing to accommodate a dairy allergy. She told us that she would check with the chef, and then did not, she also gave almost no help with making suggestions to accommodate. The dinner that was chosen in the end, that we were told was dairy free was not. It also took almost a half hour to get our drinks from the bar. We could see our drinks at the bar and I considered getting them my self since our server was not bringing them. There was a very small selection of beer to choose from as well. I was excited about trying a new restaurant in town but that excitement diminished quickly

How fantastic is Zesti?!?? We were seated (without reservation) right away and Owner Michael Feker greeted us with a joyful "WELCOME TO YOUR ZESTI EXPERIENCE!" Things got even better from there! Our server was outstanding, very funny and engaged (I'm sorry, I think his name was John). We had sat in the bar area and enjoyed a cocktail, the Vegetarino pizza and wings. My wife told me three times to figure out how the Cucumber Cosmo was made. We throughly enjoyed the food. The crescendo of the evening was when the bartender stopped our table, she had made a latte with baileys and kahula that was not ordered. My wife said it was the best coffee drink she'd had on a long time!!! We can't wait to go to Zesti for a full meal, it is a fantastic place!!

We went for brunch. It's on the small side but I get that based on location. I had an omelette which was just ok. It seems like they are trying so hard to have a very unique menu or something. That seems to have taken priority over the food a bit. So all in all it wasn't bad, a bit on the expensive side, but not bad. It won't be my favorite place.

Nice place, everybody at my tables enjoyed their meal. Bu mine I misread the menus and ordered the fettuccine and it was not to my taste. The incredible thing is they asked me if I didn't like it. I didn't answer; they saw that I hadn't even touched it so they took it off the bill without even telling us. Incredible customer service.

Zesti is, in a word, adequate. I was pretty excited to hear that Mr. Feker would be opening a new restaurant in my neck of the words. Il Mito is a pretty reliable dining experience, so I had high hopes for the newest member of this restaurant family. It's clear that somebody spend a lot of time, effort and money on the decor inside the restaurant, though it is a bit of a hodge podge with the modern crystal chandelier in one corner, the octopus-looking light with vintage bulbs, and the steampunk gas pipe wall sconces. It is a comfortable space, though, albeit loud. When I took a seat at a bar table, the caps of the pleather buttons had fallen off and the exposed sharp metal snagged my pants; just blue jeans, so not a big deal for me, but clearly a cheaply made barstool. The cocktail menu was a little froofy. I like dark liquor, and I didn't see anything but an Old Fashioned that would suit my preference; a lot of rum and vodka drinks, martinis, mojitos... I would like to see more bourbon, rye, even more gin cocktails. I did order the Old Fashioned, and it was good, but I ended up switching to wine anyway. I didn't eat an entree, only a few small plates, including stuffed eggplant, a meatball, and I think mushroom caps? They were good, but they all tasted the same... The classic Feker red sauce he puts on everything. We capped off the night with a Créme Brûlée to share, which wasn't very good. The custard was too warm and there wasn't enough of it, and the sugar crust was really thick. Service was great all night, which is enough to make me want to try it again and see if I can find something new and unique on the menu, at which time I will update my review.

The wait was not nearly what they stated, New restaurant and trying to get a feel for how tables turn. Food was excellent pumpkin ravioli, creamy with a good texture in the noodle. Downfall, they have no sound barrier walls in place or drywall to pickup the echo, don't plan on chatting over wine you will be saying what all the time.

WE live just 7 blocks away and have eaten at Zesti two times. Both times I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese, an old favorite from Il Mito in Tosa. Both times it was fantastic. The restaurant is still too loud. Too many hard surfaces. Other than that, always a great experience. Drinks were well prepared. I think Drew was our server both times. I am a big fan of the Chef, through the years his restaurants have always been well managed with exceptional menus. Zesti is of course no different.
