I went to Palmer's Steakhouse with my family to celebrate my parents birthday & anniversary. We had a reservation so we were seated right away. The server greeted us & got our beverages right away. They have a great menu with a wide variety of steaks (and other things like lamb, ribs, seafood, etc). Some of the things on the menu came with salad (or soup but I'm not 100% sure). I got a salad but my only complaint was that there was too much dressing on the salad so I would recommend getting the dressing on the side. They also give you bread - and it was warm which was a bonus! I ordered the ribs and they were fantastic - the meat fell off the bone and very tender...just how I like it. My husband had the lamb chops and said that they were very good. My dad had a steak (although I can't remember what cut) but said it was delicious. I would definitely go back and try something else on the menu because all the food was so yummy!

A good steak house if you are looking for the same menu, day in and day out. Nothing unique but everything is always good. We go about once a month. For the price I think the steaks are as good as any other in the area. A great place to take Grandma and Grandpa!

Went to Palmer's for dinner tonight with another couple and seriously had one of the best dining experiences I ever had! We had 7pm dinner reservations so we arrived around 6:15 for cocktails. The bartenders greeted us and we very nice and suggested some great drinks! They had a wonderful drink menu, including a whole page of Moscow Mules! YUM! I started with the Minty Peach Mule and then had the Melon Mule - they both were fantastic. At 6:58 the hostess came and asked if we were ready for our table. I could NOT believe it. The entire building was full and this place was running on time, on a Saturday night?!? Awesome! Shortly after we were seated our waiter came by, told us the specials and refreshed our cocktails. We started our with a couple appetizers: Eggplant and some Oysters. They were both delicious, but lets be honest, this place won Milwaukee's Best Steakhouse, and we were all here for the steaks! My husband and I both ordered the Filet Mignon. I had the 6oz and he had the 8oz. They both arrived with mushrooms on the plate (at no extra charge!) and with our included side! I had a baked potato and he had french fries. So how were the steaks? Ummmm - AMAZING! That was the most tender piece of meat I ever had! I wish I ordered the jumbo 12oz filet so I had more for lunch and dinner tomorrow! Not to mention, both were under $30! Any other restaurant these would have been like $40 and $50 a piece. Our friends had the Porterhouse and New York strip and they both agreed, they were among the best steak they ever had! That wasn't the only great part about dinner - the wine to go with our steaks was fantastic! This place has an amazing wine list! I must chuckle at the people/reviews who say their wine list is expensive. That is like someone used to driving a Ford seeing a Ferrari on the lot for $80,000 and calling it "expensive" when it would be $150,000 anywhere else. Seriously, just because a place has great wine, doesn't mean it is expensive. They had one of the best wine list I have ever seen - and that is for selection AND price! We had a bottle of Meiomi Pinot Noir with our appetizers ($44), and for our steaks, a bottle of Caymus Cabernet ($110). I am still in awe by those reviews, so I had to do a quick check to make sure I wasn't the one loosing it...lol and I wasn't....ha For comparison - that other steakhouse in brookfield Meiomi $55 +25% higher Caymus $160 +35% higher It still boggles my mind how people say this wine list is expensive....either they are competitors of Palmer's or just know nothing about wine..... Oh, and this was perhaps the most interesting thing of the night. On the way out, I asked if they had a huge day planned for tomorrow since it is Mother's Day. There answer shocked me. "No we are closed tomorrow." She explained the owners close the restaurant so everyone can spend the day with their family. I don't think there is one other restaurant in the city closed tomorrow!! Every greedy restaurateur will be open to cash in, just like stores being open on Thanksgiving! Palmer's you are in a class above the rest! We will be back!!

Our favorite neighborhood steak house. The dishes are always good and confident! The staff is sweet and very helpful. It's a place where friends gets together and have fun! Love the seasonal decor in the bar with 2 big, wide screen TV ( great place for watching any sports event!) You will come back here for the good food and friends you made while dinning here. Inviting fireplace in the dinning room and lovely outside tables along the Bark River when the weather is nice. Your kids will ask to come back again simply because they become friends with the waiter and waitress who serves you. FREE WIFI to keep your kids busy!!!

I'm a steak snob, so for me to give any steakhouse more than 3 stars, you know they earned it! I was a little weary about the rating and lack of reviews, but then I looked at the filtered reviews at the bottom of the page and it quickly gave me confidence that Palmer's is a 5 star steakhouse - read them for yourself! I made reservations a few days in advance because I heard this place fills up fast, and thank goodness we did, when we walked in at 7pm the place was full! The hostess greeted us immediately, and to my surprise, took us directly to our table - running right on time - Kudos Palmers! Shortly after being seated we were greeted by a warm smile and a friendly hello from our waitress. She was very friendly and very professional. She took our drink order. I had a glass of wine and my fiance had a margarita. OH MY - You have to see there wine list! It's one of the best I've seen in Milwaukee! I choose the Clos du Val Cab. They must have 40 wines by the glass - its a wine lovers dream! For dinner I ordered the Filet Mignon and my fiance ordered the nightly seafood special. The filet was one of the best I have ever tasted. It was prepared exactly as I ordered it and it was so tender! My mouth is watering thinking about it as Im writing this! My fiance loved her seafood - I even tried a bit - it was delcious. Each entree comes with a choice of soup or salad AND a side item. How nice is that - any other steakhouse you will get ala-carted to death on those! We each had a salad and for my side I had a baked potato and she had the vegtables. After the meal they brought out the dessert tray which looked amazing, but we had to pass - we were stuffed! Our bill came out to be around $95 for one of the best meals of my life. I gladly left a 30% tip. We will be back Palmer's! I also noticed there seemed to be a patio and the hostess told me they have outdoor seating over a river - Cannot wait to come back and sit outside!! You must try Palmer's!

I've eaten at Palmer's about a half dozen times over the last couple of years, including date nights with the wife and dinner with the kids. We've also dined here with friends, including this past Saturday evening. Great steaks and the cream of mushroom soup I recently had was one of the better soups I've had in a long time. Service is always top notch and I can only recall very minor issue one time in the dinners we've had in the past. Most dining experiences here have been 4 or 5 stars. Consistently good.

A popular local joint with classic steakhouse appeal, you can count on a great steak at Palmer's. Ambiance is over-the-top kitsch that you can't miss. The place practically explodes with color every season. The food is spot on. Wedge salad, amazingly flavorful filets and all the requisite sides (including very tasty truffle fries) make dinner a delight here. Service is sufficient - no real problems, but nothing to write home about either. Improving the experience in this area would really take Palmer's over the top. Come in the summer and you can sit outside and enjoy live music. Bonus!

Had a fatty check and wanted some great steak I knew there was one place to go Palmers. The resturant is a bit snug but a warm home feeling. The waitress seems like a robot not having to look a paper seeing what the special were keeping good eye contact and with a smile. I had 8oz steak took a while but the bread they give while you wait is superb. The steak and mushrooms was mouth watering. The best way to describe biting into the mushroom is if you were biting a fine cheese. Though I can't afford this place as often as I want when I have the cash this is my go to spot for steak.

I wish I had better things to say about Palmers. I try to root for our local places but no more for here. Previous outings have been marginal but passable. This time, my friend's burger was overdone, the beets for my salad were from a can, our server was not all there. So disappointing. The wine is very overpriced as well. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, sadly.

Great NY steak and sides. Good beer and wine list and service. Pretty pricey I think but I wasn't paying.

Overpriced and boring. The food is very outdated and too simple, especially for the prices asked. I can make everything on the menu myself, which is pretty disappointing. The vegetables are drenched in oil/butter, and the presentation is poor. It's not a terrible place, just stuck in the past, but this seems like one of the restaurants that people frequent when they are looking for fine dining, but don't know much about food.

Had a great meal with good service! Bone in ribeye with a great char perfectly cooked sides also very good! This will be my steak place from now on. My wife had a great filet special with a potabella sauce that was outstanding. For dessert we split the oreo cake a sweet moist treat! Can't wait for next visit!

My husband and I went here for a Friday dinner here recently. I ordered the Friday fish fry special and he ordered a fillet. One would think since it was Friday and it was their special the fish would have been at least marginally good right? WRONG! It was awful! The breading tasted awful and was coming off the fish. My husbands filet was overly salty and horrible quality. I remember this place being good years ago? Step it up palmers!

Palmers is fabulous. The steak is the best around. The service is excellent. The drinks are superb. My husband and I have been here 5 times and each time it's been a great experience. Yes the parking can be difficult, yet it's worth the hassle.

We enjoyed dinner here with good friends.ate on the outdoor porch at night while it was raining. Lovely location even if we got a bit damp. Food was good. Iced tea was not home brewed but tasted like powdered and came without ice. Service was not the best. Salad OK with special wasabi something dressing - mostly iceberg, a little romaine, a slice of tomato, a couple slices of cucumber, and a bit of onion. Bread served in a bag and late. Steaks tasty. Sides ample. Veggies non-descript. Not cheap. But it was open on a Monday evening and that was a good thing.

Great wine with a great steak! Service was just okay, and ambiance was nice. Look forward to going back when we can sit outside!!

I had the filet and it was tasty and reasonably priced. The menu is small and could only find one thing I wanted which is unusual for me. The steak was cooked perfectly and the server was nice, but didn't check back after we got our food. She disappeared. The bar tenders drinks were expertly made. I so often get a drink that's too weak or not balanced, but this isn't so at Palmers. Best cocktails I've ever had. So if you want a few drinks and a great steak I highly recommend Palmers.

On January 28th my husband, son and I celebrated a birthday at Palmers. Our experience was so pleasant. It started with a warm greeting at the door, then, we were promptly seated. We had a terrific server. Lisa was polite and very knowledgeable about all the menu options. Although there weren't many vegetarian options, being a steakhouse and all, she did have a good suggestion for the non steak eater. Most of all, she was a very good listener and without being told, picked up on the fact that it was my husband's birthday. Although we didn't have room for dessert after our wonderful dinner choices, she surprised us with a big birthday cupcake wrapped up and ready to take home. It is these unexpected pleasures that make dining out such a treat. While it isn't a trendy food adventure, it is a warm and comfortable place to dine.

The service was horrible, app took 45 minutes. In the past the steak is never cooked medium, it is rare or overlooked. We explicitly asked the steak to be a true medium. The steak, when it finally came out, was well done. Terrible, so bad we left and went to McDonald's. We spoke to manager who was not even apologetic We won't be back.

So, not bad. Service was respectable. The wine list is pretty good. The steak was good-- but less salt would have made it great.

Came here for a business dinner. The food was solid and reminds me of traditional continental food from the 80's and 90's. Nothing wrong with it but don't expect fancy descriptions of like reduction, confit, etc... I had the steak which was cooked perfectly. Sides were good and again nothing specially prepared which is fine. The others in my party also enjoyed the food. Seems like the dining room was an older crowd while the bar had a pretty hip scene and a nice vibe.

After all the hoopla from Dennis Getto (Milwaukee's infamous, and now deceased, food critic) I decided to check out Palmer's for myself. Steakhouses are a dime a dozen, but Dennis said this was better than the rest. So off I go with my wife and daughter to give it a spin. First is the parking, or lack thereof. Street parking only....but wait..I spot a public lot over the river and through the woods...literally. How does this go over in the middle of winter? Hope they shovel the wooden bridge. Atmosphere is not upscale (that was my expectation) and had some cheesy Christmas lights up in several spots. Figured a "higher-end" steak house requires a little spiffier outfit--NOT. No dress code here. Plenty of steaks on the menu in the $20-30 range, so I asked the waitress to make a recommendation. She said try the Porterhouse. Done. Wife went with a fish selection and my 12 year old had the chicken strips. I ordered the French Onion soup, not baked version, which was good, but not great. I'll just comment on my steak, cuz that's what I tasted the most! For a $25 steak I was disappointed with the texture and marbling. Cooked to order Medium, but was a bit difficult to cut. Taste was above store-bought quality but to me, it tasted overly salted. More gristle (sp?) than I expected. Desserts were good, presentation good too. My wife had 1 mixed drink, my daughter and I each had a lemonade. Total bill was $85 which included a 15% tip. So in the end, I wouldn't go there again. Too many other places to check out. And too many places offering a mediocre experience.
