Food was very good, everything was made in house. Pleasantly surprised especially with the marinara which was very rich and tasty! We all liked our entrees; ribs (the beans with it were nothing to write home about), chicken parm, salmon and spaghetti. Being kind of hard to find, it is not surprising that it was not very busy. Added bonus was that all bottles of wine were half price, which put them at roughly retail price. Two down marks are slow (but very friendly) service and the outdoor seating is not even worth considering, it is literally two tables in the parking lot right by the AC units, not good. The inside seating is very nice however. We will be back!

I'm so glad we went to church this morning because we all needed the patience. By far one of the WORST experiences we've had for a family meal. We had reservations for 1 and got seated at 1:15. It's also a good thing that we had 4 no shows because they barely had room for the 7 that we had show up. After 15 minutes of no one attending to us we were finally asked if we wanted drinks. 30 minutes later we got our first round of mimosas for 4 out of 5 adults but neither of the kids Orange juices. The hostess left 3 mimosas sitting on the table next to us and came back 2 minutes later. When we told her we were missing a mimosa she looked at my girlfriend and said she was 16 and then handed her the mimosa. After that fun debacle we asked again for the kid's orange juice and the lady said she would have them right up. 10 minutes later I went downstairs to the bar and got the Orange juice myself within 1 minute. The funny part of the experience is another table got up and left after telling our waitress that it was one of the worst experiences they have ever had and another table looked at us and laughed on their way out and sarcastically asked if we had enjoyed the food. We waited almost 60 minutes for French toast, scrambled eggs and an omelette. Executive chef and owner Jeffrey Slough should be embarrassed about the brunch they put on. We did have a good laugh when we left and the hostess asked us to wait to give us Mother's Day roses and we said haven't we waited long enough today? And laughed even harder when she handed my "16" year old girlfriend a Mother's Day rose.

Pike Lake House was a great blend of natural Wisconsin friendliness and really good food. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the service was excellent. You can count on being greeted quickly at your table by a wonderful basket of warm, freshly made bread. Everything in this restaurant is hand made-not processed. Quality of ingredients was excellent. Of particular note is the flourless chocolate cake. While my husband enjoyed the bread, I have a gluten allergy and have to be quite careful. Our server, Leah, worked closely with the chef to make sure that I had no issues during my meal. If you are gluten intolerant and like dessert, you've probably had your share of flourless chocolate cake as it is a restaurant "go to" for this issue. This cake had a silky feel and an unbelievable delicious chocolate/nutty taste, crowned with home made whipped cream and a few in-season raspberries. Honestly the best I've ever had. If you are anywhere near Hartford, WI, I recommend you stop in!

I am going to jam 2 reviews into one. I had dinner here last night and brunch on Sunday morning. PLH might be the best kept secret in the area. I had stopped in for a cocktail and bar food in the past, but decided to try the upstairs menu this time. Whoah! Here goes. Dinner was awesome. I had one of the specials which was a pasta dish with shrimp, scallops, a perfect mix of spice and a white vodka sauce. It was incredible. Super surprised at the creativity and quality. We also had ribs which were fall of the bone good. The bar staff was super friendly and kept the beverages topped off. Next was brunch. I was greeted by the hostess and it felt as though she was inviting me into her home for breakfast. A great start. My server was enthusiastic and had a smile that lit the room. Really, really good people working there. I had the stuffed hashbrowns which was an explosion of unique flavors in my mouth. Totally wasn't expecting that level of detail in my brunch experience. The textures and combination of flavors were nothing short of spectacular. All in all, Pike Lake House is like fine dining in a super relaxed and friendly atmosphere at a great price. I had no idea.

Excellent atmosphere. Food is pretty good too. I've been there for brunch, lunch, dinner and friday fish fry! Never had a bad experience. Even used to work there as a lunch waitress years ago. Was kept very clean. Recently changed owners and noticed a few changes...some good some bad. But overall a great place. My husband recommend their fish fry to all our friends.

I came here for a Sunday brunch. My brother in law had received high recommendations from his boss, who is a reported "foodie." I certainly never would have never found this place on my own. We barely found it with GPS. But it is definitely one of those hidden gems where value meets quality. For the very affordable and reasonable price of $14, we got a drink of our choice (Bloody Mary, complete with a fried mozarella stick, thank you very much), a basket of fresh-baked pastries (loved the popovers with homemade blackberry jam), a plate of fresh fruit, an entree from a wide array of choices (smoked brisket and blue cheese eggs benedict) and Colectivo coffee. There was only one waitress while we were there, but she was a total sweetheart. I don't get out this way often, but I would recommend this place to anyone who lives in the area or is looking for a nice Sunday drive.

Really really good local restaurant and pub. I'm from Atlanta and found it on yelp. Food was very very good and the people and service were excellent.

What a nice little unexpected gem! Stopped on the lower half (bar feel) for dinner on a Friday, and everything from the beer selection to the Rueben and Baked Cod were really nicely done. Zero complaints. They even got the sweet potato fries 'just right'. Will definitely be back, perhaps to try out the second floor (supper club feel) when we're feeling a little fancier...

Four stars for the upper level dining room. We live nearby and this is a nice place to bring friends from out of town. Have never been disappointed. We tried a morel mushroom appetizer last spring that was just incredible!

We were visiting some friends who just purchased a new house in this area and decided on the short trip to the Pike Lake House Inn for dinner. There were three couples all together on a Saturday night. We did call ahead for a table and upon arrival our table was ready and waiting, refreshing for a Saturday night! There are two eating areas, the "Pub & Grill" is located on the street level and the "Upper Deck" which is for the Fine Dining on Friday and Saturday nights. We dined in the Upper Deck which was casual attire and offered a very comfortable eating area. Drinks were very good, we enjoyed several beers and cocktails, all priced in line I feel. We started our dining experience with an appetizer - Duck Strips - since none of us ever had them before. They reminded me of fried calamari and were very tasty. Of the six of us, three enjoyed the 12 oz Boneless Rib eye which is one of 20 or so Friday/Saturday night-only dinner options. The steak was excellent, done to perfection. You have an option for $1.50 to add sauteed mushrooms and onions and that was money well spent. The steak was smothered with the shrooms/onions. I also enjoyed the seasoned fries with my steak, others had the traditional baked potato. Another person ordered the Walleye Pike dinner which was a huge portion of fish, and prepared to perfection. One individual had the Pecan Crusted Pork Chop and another the Prime Rib, no complaints in site. All dishes were well proportioned and I noticed four of the six of us took "doggy bags" home. Other items on the menu that sound very tempting were the Grouper, a "house specialty", Flame Broiled Pork Chop and all of the pasta dishes! All dinners come with the traditional "night club" go-withs; bread, vegetable of the day, starch and house salad/homemade soup. Three of us had soup, three of us had salad - no complaints all around. The staff was very friendly and helpful with their menu and specials for the night. The restaurant itself could easily be placed anywhere up north, it has that cozy feeling and fits naturally along side a lake. The restaurant is located off the main roads in a mostly residential area, very quiet. While we chose this location based on the proximity to the new homeowners location, we will certainly be back to try out the other dishes on the menu. Even during the week when the Upper Deck is not open, the menu displayed a wide variety of burgers, wraps and sandwiches to satisfy any appetite.

I had just read an excellent review of this restaurant on JSOnline and was excited to try a new restaurant. I was also impressed that the Owner/Chef (Jeff) was the chef at North Hills Country Club for 30 years! You don't last at a country club for 30 years if the food is terrible. The menu in the review and on the website looked great, so we decided to go for brunch today. Unbelievable! The brunch starts with a platter of fresh fruit and a basket of fresh homemade bakery, the chef said he was baking at 5:00 a.m. The fruit was super fresh and the bakery was excellent, we didn't leave anything in the basket. You choose a starter and an entree to complete your brunch. The starters included options like a smoothie, bloody mary (excellent) and others I don't recall. There were probably 10 options for entrees. My wife chose the eggs benedict and I had a cajun shrimp creole omelette with grits. I have not had a breakfast dish this good or grits in Wisconsin this good. Everything was absolutely incredible, but the best part of this all is the value. The brunch was $13.00 per person! A bloody mary, fresh fruit, fresh homemade bakery and an entree for $13.00, that is a crazy good deal. You all need to patronize this place so it will be here to enjoy for a long time. I am anxious to get back for dinner after reading other reviews.
