I was pleasantly surprised with my experience here. The Brass Tap is located in a strip mall - and it seems kind of odd at first. But when you walk in - it has that hometown corner bar feel (with that fresh new feeling). It was a little confusing as to where to go to get seated. But we figured it out. We just walked to the back of the bar and found a server. Easy enough. There was a short wait, so we decided to partake in one of the 80(ish?) taps available!!! An off duty bartender was helpful enough to find us a menu and give his suggestion. Very kind indeed. The food menu is Appetizer heavy. Decent items here! Pretzels, nachos, spinach dip, hummus, wings.. all your pub food favorites. We got the buffalo chicken dip. Really cheesy, creamy and delicious. For dinner I opted for the Chicken BLT wrap with french fries. Solid! It met my expectations! I didn't mention the beer list. The one thing I noticed was that they really had a great selection of IPAs. I would say compared to the other offerings - there were more IPAs available. I'm not sure how often they'll rotate stuff out, but I was very pleased with the selection available. Overall - I'm a fan! Lots of TVs, friendly service, delicious pub food and a great beer selection!

I went to The Brass Tap to watch the Badger game and the NCAA selection for March Madness. Parking is somewhat of a pain. They share the parking lot with all the stores in the strip mall. We originally had to park on the other side of the strip mall. Your typical sports bar look with bench/table seating along the back wall and a mix of regular tables and bar tops to fill the space. The bar is a huge L shaped. Has plenty of beers on tap. Too many to list here in the review. But I was plenty satisfied with the 5 beers I had. You can also ask for a sample before buying a full beer to make sure you like it. My group was not disappointed. Flat screens and a projection line the walls and would be a great place to watch any sporting event. They have a good bar food menu as well. I had the wing platter - $11.95 - comes with 8 wings (I had the spicy garlic), fries, and slaw. The wings were cooked nicely and was not over sauced. Had a great balance of spice and heat. I would come here for the wings alone. Overall a good experience. The only negative was the waitress we had. She didn't care to be there and barely checked on us. Plus she made a mistake on my friend's food order. She entered a flat bread instead of a bacon cheese burger. She did make up for it by taking $5 off the bill for it tho but the rest of the group was done with meal when he just got his burger. One little annoyance was when we first order MKE Brewing Company's Ogii, it came in a pint glass. All orders after that came in a Stella type glass. My guess is to lessen the beer intake since they are so high in alcohol content. I will definitely be back...maybe during March Madness.

The next candidate on the chain craft beer restaurants, Brass Tap has a nice beer selection all the way around. The bartender was nice, and as we went through the menu he tried helping us find a beer style we like. Although most people who go there may require help, we definitely do not and after a few minutes of talking to us I think he figured that out :) We had some awesome beers and some nice small plate meals. I love the concept of these places but the location makes it hard for parking. If I am in the area I would stop here again for food and beers.

Unlike Kyle K. I am not a beer snob. I have tried a few craft beers in my day but I and my friends were blown away by the choices offered at Brass Tap. Living in a community of mostly bud lite drinkers I found this new and awesome place to be a beer drinkers paradise. Without the bar keepers help I would not have known where to even begin! I liked being schooled in the many different types of beers (good job bartender) and samples were given before making the tough decision on what to drink! I settled on ESB Goose Island Ale. Next up was Wiscinsin Ol' Reliable (who knew) a Lager. The place itself is awesome in decor and has a really nice vibe. I did not try the food but I will next visit now that I know what Brass Tap is all about. They even have a beer club you can join. Perhaps the beer snobs already know everything there is to know about beer but I bet a lot of people don't either. So thanks little brother! I will be back....need to further nt education.

Stopped by for a couple of beers. All I can say is, Wow! They feature a wall of beer taps, with an equally large selection of bottled beer. The beer list is a bit overwhelming, but our server did have a very good working knowledge of the beer offering. They also offer mixed drinks for those non beer drinkers. They do also offer a food menu. You may have to read another review of their food, as we did not sample any of the food. I have also heard on Monday nights they offer specials for those in the public service profession, ie..teachers, firefighters and law enforcement.

My husband and I stopped in here on a Friday night for an after dinner drink. I had heard good things about this place and was anxious to check it out. They have an amazing selection of beer. Ale's, Belgians, Ciders, Lagers, Lambics and more: there's a beer for every palate here. They also have some rather unique beers such as vegetable and herb & spice ones. I absolutely loved the long line of beer taps behind the bar. The Brass Tap also offers a decent selection of bar food. The staff here is very nice. For being in a strip mall, it is a very spacious establishment. Parking can be an issue at times, with sharing a lot with the rest of the strip mall and all. But that will not deter me from coming from back again.

Tap beer selection is amazing! The food is good and do have my favorites, like the Pepper Jack Mac, Chicken Taco's, Prime Rib Nachos, Mexican Flatbread, Spinach Artichoke Dip, oh and they just started a brunch menu and the triple decker and pizza looked really good. The atmosphere is really nice, clean, lots of TV's, bright with windows in the front letting in the natural light. The patio is new for summer, and really nice! Based on the 80 tap beers to choose from they will let u taste what interests you, before committing to a beer you may not enjoy. The bartenders are knowledgable, friendly.

I visited The Brass Tap for the first time this past Saturday, April 11th. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was the impressive wall of tappers. It's litterally an ENTIRE WALL of beautiful beer tappers! Quite a sight! My group of 4 got sat promptly even though it was a little packed inside since there was a live band. So that worked out for us! The food selection looks great! I definitely want to go back and try many more of their options. On this first visit I tried the bacon sampler and the fish tacos. The bacon sampler is three pieces each of applewood smoked, jalapeno, and maple flavors with maple syrup for dipping. This was delicious all around! Next, I would have to say the fish tacos were some of the best, most moist and flavorful fish tacos I have had to date. For my beer selections I chose the Wells Banana Bread Beer and the New Holland Brewing Company Dragon's Milk.

We had stopped in here to try some of the beers on Friday and the bartenders/beers were great. Some of the food items being served around us looked tantalizing so we thought we would go back Sunday and give the menu a try. Bad decision. Even though the place was empty we waited 15 minutes for drinks. We ordered food, and after another hour wait asked the waitress to cancel the order, paid for the drinks and left. Inexcusable service as the place was empty. There were two tables of folks playing poker, but they weren't eating. When we asked the waitress what was taking so long, she said the kitchen lost our ticket. Somebody needs to tell her that is her job to keep up with her tables, especially she had nothing else to do. Totally clueless. Go for the beer, but eat elsewhere! After the above comments the manager contacted me with an offer to make the situation right, so I will amend my review to 4 stars until I can get back and try the food.

I typically have a rule about chains in strip malls. The type of ubiquitous place that is like a worm hole. You walk into an Applebee's in Milwaukee and you're in an Applebee's in Texas, Missouri or Oregon. It's the same damn place. It says nothing about where you're at and you can always do better with a local spot. The Brass Tap is in fact a chain in a strip mall. It probably looks about the same as any of their other locations. Where TBT excells is in their focus on local beers. Of their 100 taps, at least half were Wisconsin brews from the likes of Karben 4, New Glarus, Central Waters and so forth. Many of the others were from Midwestern breweries like Solemn Oath and Three Floyd's. Do they make good beer on the coasts? He'll yes, but we don't need 'em. Midwest Til Death! The service was friendly, but I have one minor gripe. In an increasingly beer literate community, I don't need a lesson about every beer I order. I know what it is, where it's from and I've probably made a beer of the style myself. I'm almost certainly making a mountain out of a mole hill, but I don't think it's the server's job to assume the ignorance of the customer. Let's have a chat, exchange opinions but I'm on a barstool, not in a classroom. Not what I'm here for little brother. Gripe out of the way, this place is a very welcome addition to an area that is, to me at least, bereft of quality drinking establishments. If they keep bringing in quality craft beers they'll have no problem finding success.

After visiting here a few times I always received prompt and excellent service. The beer selection is fantastic and a new beer menu is printed every day. A great place for a beer enthusiast to visit.

I'd give this place a 2.5 star review if possible. Beer selection and setup of the bar is probably a 5 star. Food was a 3 star. Service was 1-2 star. Doubt I'll be back for a meal but appetizers/drinks/trivia is a possibility. Service started off pretty well as we were welcomed to the restaurant by the bartender. Upon sitting we promptly received menus. We ordered drinks and when the waitress returned she was ready to take our order. As it was the first time we were at the restaurant we asked for another minute to order. Whoops, our bad. Waitress didn't come back for a good 15 minutes. We had to waive her over as she was putting together menus. We ordered, food arrived quickly, and the waitress delivered the food. This was the last interaction with her we had for over 20 minutes/until we were done eating. My drink was just about empty when the food came but I didn't have a chance to order another one. As for the food we had asked for ranch instead of blue cheese with the buffalo chicken wrap but still received blue cheese. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to get it corrected. I ordered the Mac n Cheese burger. It's described as "1/2 lb. of fresh Angus beef served on a butter brioche bun and topped with pepper jack mac and bacon." The bacon is bacon bits (see picture) but that wasn't apparent from the menu as the side is pepper jack mac, with no mention of bacon. Fries were substandard and not really appetizing. Ketchup came in a small container and was clearly an off brand substitute. Ketchup is a big thing to me and I hate off brand stuff, especially when the food needs something more. Burger was ordered medium, came out grey, but extremely juicy. It appears the patties were frozen as it was standard circle and had a marinade injection of some kind. It wasn't off putting, but wasn't natural. Lastly, waitress brought the check and we had ordered tap beer which is suppose to be 25% off during happy hour. They were full menu price, but we couldn't get the attention of our waitress to correct the issue, so I paid in cash and took off the drink difference from the tip. It would easily be a 1 star service rating; however, the waitress was friendly, but just completely clueless. It appears to be a great place to get a few drinks, catch a game, and hang out, but I'd recommend eating elsewhere first. Also, parking is really a pain being in the strip mall. Read prior reviews and thought how could that be, but we ended up driving around 5 minutes on a Thursday afternoon at 5:30pm to wait for a spot to open.

Love this place! It has a great selection of beers on tap & good, reasonably priced bar food. While the caprese flatbread had too much pesto, the chicken nachos were delicious! The serving is huge, so I would recommend sharing. The environment is very comfortable & has a lot of nice TVs. It would be a fun place to watch a game!

Amazing selection of beers. Can't go wrong with 80 on tap. And the food is actually good too. It's always fantastic when you can get a good meal at a gray bar.

Great new place for dinner and drinks. The beer selection has to be one of the best around. With 80 beers on tap and over 100 bottles there is something for everyone. I liked the variety of food as well. Not just your typical bar food. The panini I had was really good. My husbands burger was ok. Said it was a bit bland, but not bad. Parking is a it tricky due to its location in the strip mall, but we just parked a little further away and walked over. Overall I will be back if not just for the beer alone.

First off let me say that this bar has a very cool concept. It has a great selection of beer. It is very new and the atmosphere is nice. However, with those things being said, there were a lot of kinks that still need to be worked out. When we went to this bar we went around 5:30pm, we got a table right away. Because we were impressed with the menu that we saw beforehand on the website we wanted to have a meal here. But the bar has too many tables in the small space that it has. I was sitting back to back with the person at the table behind me and it was very uncomfortable. All of the tables only hold 4 guests comfortably. We had 5 total and there was hardly any room for all of our meals when they came. Take out 2 of the tables in the bar and it would help considerably. The food was fair. We had 2 of us order tacos and they came with chips and salsa. The chips clearly came out of a tostidos bag in the back and the salsa was out of a jar, no doubt. The reason I know the chips were from a bag is because they were the perfect circles, at least if you're going to use store bought chips buy the restaurant style chips so they are more "homemade" looking. I shouldn't know you are using store bought anything. I had a burger which was okay, it definitely was very salty and round, so it most likely came from the freezer. The idea of having the menu they do is great but the actual food was disappointing and seems very much like an after thought to the whole bar's idea. Next, I would like to note that the parking is very difficult. It is in a pretty small strip mall type building but there's a Panera in the same location and the parking lot is not very accommodating to Panera's customers let alone 2 restaurants. I think that it has a poor location. And lastly, our service was horrible. Every time we ordered a drink it took forever to get it. Not sure if this was really our server's fault because I believe she had to wait for the bartender to give her the drinks. If you are going to make your bartenders pour all the drinks and take care of guests sitting at the bar you better be quick or have multiple bartenders to take care of it, one just didn't cut it. To wait 10 minutes for a refill on a glass of water is crazy. We ordered 2 beer flites and an appetizer that had 3 different flavors of bacon, the beers came with a list so you could decipher the different beers, but the server told us that the list started at one end, but once we started tasting we found out she told us backwards of what it really was. When we got the bacon appetizer all the pieces were just thrown on the plate with no labels or ways to decipher what each flavor was, we asked our server, she told us what she thought was the order but again, after tasting she was wrong and we had to figure it out on our own. When it came time to get our check we asked the server for it and then had to wait at least another 10 minutes, and we watched her stand around and chat it up with a fellow staff member. When we finally got it we tried to hurry and get our card ready so we could just hand it back right away, we didn't catch her fast enough and had to wait. The table behind us was also waiting with their check and eventually started waving it in the air to try and get the server's attention. Our server definitely needed fewer tables and a lot more training. Overall, this bar could do great! It has a nice concept and a great menu, but now it needs to match the menu with the actual food that comes out of the kitchen and improve on the service. It would make a world of difference. I'll definitely give it another try, but I'll be waiting a few months to see if that gives them the time to work out all the bad things I mentioned.
