Fresh, tasty and affordable lunch buffet. I should know, I visit it nearly once a week with my co-workers. For $6.50 you have your choice of crispy crab rangoon filled with cream cheese, savory sweet and sour chicken, fresh fried rice, an assortment of beef, chicken and shrimp dishes and desserts including Chinese sugar donuts, fruit, cookies, jello and soft serve ice cream.

I'm writing this one based on a take-out experience. What's up with Chinese restaurants around here closed until 4:00PM on Sundays? Maybe there is a reason, but the only choice within the immediate area to grab takeout was at China Kitchen in Germantown. The dining room underwent some renovations awhile back to accommodate a hibachi following. Typically known for their buffet (that looked good with peel and eat shrimp and a plethora of other tempting items) we chose take-out to get a feel for the land. Have you ever heard of placing an online order for Chinese take-out? I don't mean to sound discriminatory, but it was very cool to jump online and easily click, select, and submit an order. I would challenge any establishment to embrace technology to increase sales. They have it figured out. It clearly is helping them otherwise they wouldn't exert the effort. The hot and sour soup was really good. Tofu, tons of mushrooms, and egg whipped in a slightly spicy base. I would argue it to be the best north of MKE. Chicken fried rice seems to be a way to measure the calibur of food without spending a lot of money. If you can't cook rice good than you got some probs! Chicken fried rice was excellent. Lots of white meat, bean sprouts, veggies, and not dry. They know how to work a wok- I need to take lessons. I look forward to trying their buffet next time. It's clean, and full of options including sushi. Great experience all around.

Very satisfied with both the food and presentation for the lunch buffet! The food was yummy, and the food was fresh! There was a good variety of entrees, sides and desserts. There was even a grill where you can get your food prepared (meats/veggies) fresh in front of you!! The restaurant was also very clean. Worth the ~$8!!

Enjoyable experience... Great customer service. Order take-out online, fabulous trait. The mixed wonton soup was excellent, very tasty broth and too-die-for homemade wonton noodles stuffed full of the good mix. I ordered a rice noodle dish that was their specialty and much better than most in the North Shore. Looking forward to trying more.

I went in pretty late but the hostess was very nice and helpful. They have a good selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. The sushi was good, the grill folks were nice and made good food. They had a good selection of Seafood, Chicken, Vegetarian and Beef entrees. The taste was not too mild, but not spicy as well. Had good balance. The ice cream were a little too frozen and didn't taste well, may be they are a little old stock, but that's probably the only downer I saw. The service was very nice. I recommend this place.

We went here for lunch on a random day, looking for a quick bite to eat. It was unexpectedly good. They have a great lunch buffet with a ton of delicious food, including sushi. I stayed away from the sushi, but heard no complaints from anyone who tried it. And... it was unexpectedly clean. I only mention this because I've been in identical restaurants where you felt like you may bring home something you don't want. That was not the case here. Solid lunch.

This place is consistently a fun place to go out with my friends. For 8.36 you get access to a hibachi grill, and a multi layer buffet! What more do you want? Also the building is a neat design with all the lights and such. All and all, just an enjoyable dining experience!

I would have to say that the General Tso's Chicken from this restaraunt is by far the best I have had ever. The pork fried rice has a nice flavor from the pork that is roasted on premise. I think many times the Chinese restaurants use a precooked pork and this is far different. The chicken and sauce was equally good. I ordered the dish extra Spicey and boy did I get it. The dish made me sweat and I had to stop and wipe my brow and dab my eyes. I've had the dish twice now. Perfect both times. Also tried the beef London. Not bad but I would have preferred larger noodles and it seemed strange that a noodle dish also cam with rice? All in all a good job. Order online and get 10% off.

Totally awesome. They have a great spread... Sushi is good. General tso's chicken is good. Veggie stuff good. Crab Rangoons so good. Ice cream is really good.. Like, real ice cream, but if you are not into that, they also have soft serve. Place is clean, staff are nice. All for a really decent price. I did get a somewhat foreboding fortune cookie tho: "something unusual will happen at work next week." Yikes!

Really good for the super affordable price (less than $9 per person for all you can eat buffet) You should try the Hibachi option plus the sushi rolls. You can eat a salad, a soup, main dish, dessert and drink, everything is included

I have mixed feelings about this place The food selection was ok and had the usual variety of food. Sushi and Mongolian BBQ was available. I didn't try the sushi nor the Mongolian BBQ. I did not like the tables as it was made out of granite or quartz or something which was soo cold. I am sure this is no biggie for most others. The place was clean. The food lacked any flavor i mean good or bad . I wish the food was more warmer. Pluses compared to other buffet places. -drinks included - coffee options included

Went here for lunch, the remodel is great and that made the restaurant better. I usually don't fonts many buffets but this one was worth it. The food is made by hand, you can tell and it tasted generally better than fried and breaded chicken dipped in "oriental sauce" which is what you normally see at a Chinese buffet.

I have been going to this place for 10 year and have always had good experiences. They added a full buffet and sushi and mongolian grill (which they advertise as hibachi, but it is not a sit at the grill experience, more of a put your ingredients in a bowl and hand to someone who cooks for you, then you take back to your table.) My two visits to the new buffet were very forgettable, but to be fair, I am not sure I am really a fan of premade banquet/buffet chinese food. My family has continued to make this our carry out choice and we firmly believe the food is just as good as it was before. I would suggest the Mei Fun and the Lo Mein... both great choices. They are also good with spicy dishes. They also do a great job on steamed pork dumplings. I never thought their egg rolls were very good. I would say either order off the menu or take it carry out, but skip the buffet.

We always go here for the lunch buffet. Very tasty, wide selection, and I too am a fan of the General Tso's Chicken. I try something new every time, almost everything is great. Tried the Hibachi Grill today, nice variety of veggies, shrimp, beef, chicken, noodles, and you can add eggs if you wish. Love the egg foo young, and the fresh mushrooms in a light gravy. The restaurant is clean, along with the restroom. They offer a senior discount, too.

First time experience, lunch buffet. Very clean and a nice ambience, conserative selection of items, however they were fresh and well cooked, the vegtables were hot & still crunchy, the meats were of a decent quality and not overcooked, their Hibachi/grill had a good selection of meats and vegetables to make your own style, and the sushi was fresh and good. Definitely be back, was a good experience and the service staff were friendly and efficient

I made the trek to China Kitchen a few times over my lunch hour. Overall, pretty much what you would expect - familiar decor, lots of booths and tables, etc. It was clean, and the staff was nice. The food was fresh (my dish was made to order, as the last time I was there I did not eat off of the buffet menu - for whatever odd reason it just didn't occur to me). Lunch buffets get very busy - so if you can work your schedule before or after the lunch hour, I would recommend it. (also, avoid the days the Social Security checks get delivered, as it seems to be REALLY busy on those days). Solid 3.75 stars for China Kitchen.

My dad called me and said that some of the family was going to this place for lunch, so I joined. I had never been there before, so I was not thrilled when I walked in and saw that it was a buffet. However, I was already there and I wasn't about to turn down a free meal (thanks dad!). As I looked around, I saw a mongolian grill and sushi, as well as the standard buffet. Keeping in mind that I was in Germantown, my expectations were not that high. But, I grabbed a plate and headed over to the sushi. It looked decent so I started loading my plate up. I passed on the Mongolian grill. Then I started to make my hot food plate. I wasn't too awfully impressed by the hot food items. It was lunch so the food was probably pretty fresh. I wish that I could say more, but it was a Chinese buffet in the suburbs. What can I say? If it means anything, I didn't have the urge to vomit when I was looking at everything. And it all tasted pretty good. For dessert, they had about 8 or 10 different tubs of hand scooped ice cream. That was yummy. I wouldn't go out of my way to return. But, if my dad ever offers to buy me lunch at this place, I'll accept the offer.

This is a Chinese buffet. I am going to attempt to review it on the standards I have established for Chinese buffets. I am not going to attempt to review it according to standards above or below a CHINESE BUFFET. (I really just had to get that out of my system. Been reading a lot of reviews by people who found themselves sitting in a Greasy Burger Joint promising Greasy Burgers, when they wanted Anthony Bourdain and baked brie en croute. Sorry, but you're actually more apt to find Anthony Bourdain in a Greasy Burger Joint, and he'd wanna put his foot up inside you somewhere for being such a d-bag.) When you enter China Kitchen, you are greeted by a strict Asian somebody who wants your order for take-out, or your money for the buffet. It seems a little overkill, but he's trying to keep things moving. He's also likely the owner. Or the owner's brother-in-law. Either way, he has better things to do than watch you hem and haw over whether or not you want something off their set menu or a couple plates from their buffet. I've never had anything off of the set menu because I was always glamoured by their dining room. Inside their dining room you'll find their sparkling buffet. So like a hungry, eggroll-seeking zombie, I handed over my money, wandered into the gently-lit dining room, ducked into a tall-backed and private booth, and figured I was in for a treat. The mongolian grill Sergeant glared at me when I asked him questions about sauces available for my plate of uncooked pork, noodles, and vegetables. He also answered me in broken English that only one sauce was available: he would tailor it to the ingredients I'd chosen for my stir fry. I didn't regret his discretion. I was shocked and it was delicious. From the buffet I was able to satisfy my White Middle-Class American cravings for "Chinese food" -- I understand China Kitchen must offer dishes appealing to a broad range of diners, so when their BBQ pork skewers were such a delight, my shock deepened. Other aspects of the buffet that pleasantly surprised me included hand-carved prime rib, fruit sushi, HOT FOOD served HOT, and COLD FOOD served COLD. The servers in charge of clearing our plates were bothered only when they would lift their faces from the mountain of edamame they were cleaning just a few tables away. Whatever. My table was big enough for me to shove my dirty plates sufficiently far enough away from myself so that I didn't feel like a fatty. My mom wanted to take my dad here for his birthday last summer. When we did, he received a hand-drawn "Happy Birthday, Birthday Man" place mat from our server's daughter. She helped her mom take our order, refill our drinks, sing the Birthday Song (which was also played on through out their restaurant when they came by with my dad's lit birthday candle), and bring our change. She couldn't have been any older than eight years old and she was the most adorable thing we'd seen since Cuteoverload.com . My dad was in tears he was so happy with his Birthday Dinner. And he had as much sweet'n'sour chicken and vanilla soft serve ice cream his 56 year-old heart could ever desire. So. As Chinese buffets in southeastern Wisconsin go, this one is a gem. It's clean, it's charming, it's DELICIOUS. Go there and ask for the eight year-old waitress.

This is a wonderful place to eat. It is about 26$ (w/ tip) for two, to eat dinner here (ca. 6th of November 2012). It is wonderful. It has basic American-Chinese food, Sushi, as well as plain ole American food. It give's to all. It actually get better every time you go. The wait staff is extraordinary! Their English is kind of shaky, but who's isn't. My English is horrible!!! However, they are really nice, after the fifth time going. They get to know you. It is one of my faviourite places for that good ole Chinese food (and Sushi!!!!)! Enjoy!!!

This is a very good Chinese buffet. There is plenty of selection. They also have a sushi bar and a mongolian grill where you can select your own ingredients. They do a good job of keeping the buffet stocked, and the service is good. It is what it is, chinese buffet food. And they are good at what they do.

Actually, clean, reasonable and offering a very diverse variety. Kids are charged by age. The addition of the Mongolian Grill is a nice complement to the buffet. There were ample meat and fowl dishes. Seafood in these kinds of places is usually heavily battered, and this was true here. They did have the soft-serve machine, but the addtion of 8 scoop-your-own ice creams was nice. Kids had fun there with all the bangels and sauces that could be put on the ice cream. Great place to take a family. We'll take our grandchildren this week.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
