Bang for buck one of the best places in that area! It's in Franksville. So there isn't much competition but Dons is a great place to grab a bite. We use to come here for lunch back in high school. It was cheap, filling, and most importantly good!! At that time you got a whole friggin bagful of fries for a buck to go with your sandwich or meal. The sandwiches are good. Pick your bread, meats, cheese(s), veggies, and dressing. It's like subway only fresh, better, and made by someone who looks like your mom :) They will also grill up a fresh chicken breast for you If that's your decision. I often ordered this in h.s. As a change up from my all meats carnivore sandwich. Now that we're older we can drink in the bar and it makes the fish fry more enticing. It's usually pretty busy on fish fry Friday. I also remember them having bluegill available which is on of my preferred fish choices. This place is totally worthy of a try if you are in the area

Don's is the bomb! I lived in Racine when I was a kid, and used to drive over for subs on lunch during high school. The subs were so good that I used to drive down from Milwaukee to pick up bags of sandwiches for the guys from work. One day the doors were closed and I assumed they went out of business, a little part of me died. One day, I was driving down a country road, and there they were! They are cheap and tasty, go get one right now!!!

Why go to subway when you can get a bigger sandwich with fresh deli meat and cheese for $6? All their food is fantastic and dirt cheap. Friendly small town atmosphere and recently smoke-free! A+

The name is a misnomer. It is a bar and restaurant. I was told they have a tremendous Friday Fish Fry. Soooo, checked it out. Yikes! The fish menu is extensive: perch, blue gill, cod, shrimp, haddock. It comes fairly well seasoned. There is a choice of potato, slaw, and you can go to the bread and salad bar. The bread consists of rolls, white bread, wheat and rye. The salad bar is potato salad, tuna and pasta salad, slaw, radishes, celery and carrots. Don's attracts a lot of people. And the problem begins because it is free for all seating. This is very uncomfortable since customers are lined up around the restaurant like vultures ready to pounce once you get up from the table. It is also a SMOKING joint, so expect to come out smelling like fresh, stale cigarettes. The fish was pretty good, the potatoes were acceptable, but the ambiance, crowd and smoking brings it way down. Don's offers a steak night on Saturday. I would try it but the smoke is off putting. Two girls behind me had a big pizza (half peperoni, half sausage) and said they always come here for the pizza. The menu offers pizza, subs, and other items, but on Friday night it is almost universally about the fish.

I usually go to Don's for the hot turkey club sandwich with bacon, but I decided to try their 12 pc.chicken with choice of 3 sides. For my sides I decided to go with mashed potatoes and gravy, potato salad, and pasta salad. Seriously, this is the worst chicken I have ever had and the sides were horrendous!!!! The breading on the chicken didn't even stick to the skin. The skin was so disgusting to look at. It made it hard to eat the rest of the chicken. The mashed potatoes were mushy and the gravy was clumpy. The pasta salad was alright. I didn't even give the potato salad a chance when my fiancee said that they were disgusting. Next time, I will just stick to my regular sandwich. It is sooo delicious and reasonably priced. I guess, I should have known better when I asked the guy taking my order if their chicken was good and all he said was, "It's chicken".
