Surprise! The outside has kept me away for awhile. It looks rundown and dirty. But the inside is cozy and clean. The dinner was great! I had the chicken amore my bf had the steak mozzarella. We were both happy. Great for kids their only complaint no crayons to destroy a kids menu. The cost is superb! Definitely one of my new favorites!

One of the best Italian restaurants in the Milwaukee area! From the pizza to the chicken parm to appetizers like the calamari, you just cannot go wrong! Tonight my companion tried the seafood ravioli and it was off the charts outstanding! This is a MUST TRY for any lover of Italian cuisine; make sure to bring your appetite as you WILL need it!

Don't let the outside fool you! Order the Veal Mozzarella (amazing sauce) or Chicken Amore. We went on a Wednesday night and it was nice and quiet. Also saw the largest pizza of my life 16"x32"!

Good selection, good prices, nice atsmophere. I've had only lunches here but the selection is ok and the food is above average.

Five minutes ago I put a leftovers container from Toscana Italian Ristorante in my refrigerator, and I've been filled with regret ever since. I know, I know. You're thinking - and rightly so - that life is too short for regrets. And as right as you are, there is also the fact that I walked right past a perfectly good garbage can with said leftovers container. It ain't right. OK, so maybe I'm being harsh and snarky. But let me back up. On the heels of a week of vacation that was riddled with life/home improvements but also with a terrible, nagging chest cold, getting out of the house today was a must. But it was a cold, windy, dreary, rainy day and a movie with two of my best girls was about all that No Frills Jen (no styling of hair, no eye make up, loungy clothing) could muster up. So after the movie, we were too busy drooling over Matthias Schoenaerts (good lord that man is dreamy!) to make a reasonable decision. Enter Toscana Italian Ristorante. Our blood was clearly not near our brains during the decision-making process. But in our defense, the Yelp reviews were decent and were hovering right at four stars. We started with some breaded zucchini (meh), had a pre-dinner salad (doube meh) and then had pasta entrees - two opted for spaghetti and I had a pasta/alfredo/weird chicken patty/frozen vegetable combo (triple meh). On the upside, the waitress was a sweetie pie, the menus were meticulously laminated, the prices were outrageously good (topping out at $12.99 for a seafood-based entree) and although we didn't try it, the pizza looked like it might be decent. All of that being said, I can assure you, I'll never be back. I don't live anywhere near Franklin, I really don't even ever go anywhere near Franklin (except for tonight, apparently), and my standards are higher than what this place can accommodate. But for tonight? For tonight, No Frills Jen and her girls had a great night out...in spite of this not-so-ristorante restaurant.

When your business hours are listed through 9PM, don't refuse to seat customers at 8:25 because "we will take too long and be there past 9:00." I've worked in the service industry and we sat people through our closing time. It's too bad because it looked promising. Unfortunately the owners are rude and could care less, because they were all just sitting around talking with their coats on when we came in.

Place was busy and our server said they were short staffed. But it seemed to run smooth except for refills on beverages taking a long, long time. I had the chicken dumpling soup which was very good. The garlic bread was okay but I've had better. I like more butter and garlic flavor. My entree was shrimp mozzarella with angel hair pasta. I really liked it. Sauce had fresh flavor. Odd that shrimp came with tails on. Didn't want to dig into sauce to remove them and was difficult to remove just using fork & knife. Seems like it'd be lots easier for kitchen staff to remove. Four of us shared a piece of their chocolate cake. Presentation was good as was taste. Since I told him we were going to share, he brought extra forks and napkins. That was nice. Atmosphere is not great but you get good value for good price so I'm not complaining.

To start, they were very friendly on the phone, delivery was prompt, and the prices were more than reasonable. However, the quality of the food was very obviously lacking. The portions were very generous on the bright side. The food is bland, generic, and not quite worth the good prices.

Drove past this restaurant quite a few times after recently moving to the area and never thought to check it out due to it looking pretty run down and dingy. Customer service was not great when my boyfriend and I went (around 5 on a Tuesday). Walked in and waited a few minutes to be seated but no one came so we grabbed a booth ourselves. Still no one came to wait on us. I noticed they had menus piled up front so I went and grabbed some for us. Finally a younger waiter noticed me and came over to ask what we'd like to drink. I ordered the mozzarella shrimp and my bf ordered the chicken fettuccini alfredo, both came with garlic bread and soup or salad. They only had one soup option, chicken dumpling, which is what we both had. Both meals were good portions, well priced ($11 & $13), and were VERY tasty! Food definitely made up for the not so great service. Make sure to check out their website for coupons! We had one for "buy an entree and 2 drinks and get a 2nd entree of equal or lesser value for $1". Great deal!

Cozy little family style Italian restaurant. Not too stuffy, but certainly not too shabby. everything I've ordered has been good. Most entrees are $11, or $8 on special. The service was good too. I'd come here before I would go to a bar and grill chain. I'll be back.

Yummy pizza! Crust wasnt my favorite, but ingredients were so fresh! Staff was really friendly, and inside was so cozy. Great family dinner spot.

Friendly waitstaff, tasty food, and good prices. They offer a good array of Italian dishes. I usually go for the pizza, or a Caesar salad, and eggplant strips as an appetizer. The decor is not fantastic, but I usually go there with family, and it's not a big deal to us!

This place is a friendly cute diner that has an Italian mom and pop feel. I have only been here for breakfast for the skillets, and they never seem to disappoint. My favorite is the banquet skillet. The service is very friendly and attentive even though it only seems to be two people working in the kitchen, you can hardly tell the difference.

Another place I've never actually been to, but I use their delivery service. They are quick and friendly and their pizza's are really good! My favorite is Mediterranean Pizza with Pomodoro Sauce, Spinach, Gorgonzola, and Feta Cheese. As I write this I am craving one for Dinner tonight!

Other than a craft store, I don't think I have seen this many fake plants in one place :) That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by Toscana. Coming from Chicago, the prices here are a dream, it was $4 for my glass of wine!!! Do NOT let the outside fool you, take a chance and come inside. The staff is polite and prompt and the food is good. Most the reviews recommend the pizza, I cannot speak to that but I can tell you that my boyfriend LOVED his Chicken parmesan! My pasta dish was decent, originally it was to be served with a cream sauce but they happily switched to a marinara for me without any issues......yay! I was worried it would be a problem. Should I ever pass through this area again, I will be sure to stop by and dine. Next time, I will be sure to try the pizza.

Searching for that nice place for a family meal we stumbled across this gem just south of the airport. This is certainly NOT one of those chain places that crank out cardboard tasting pizza. Our grandson best described this pizza "wow that is a big pizza!". The 16x32 pizza was worth the trip and was plenty to feed our crowd of five. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. The sauce was mild but tasty. This family owned and operated place has many other Italian dishes so we will leave it on our list of favorites. The dining area is very nice. A large screen TV graces one end of the restaurant but this is NOT the place to watch your favorite ball game. Good service and remember to check the website before ordering as the coupons will save you CASH!

This restaurant serves many different pizzas made-to-order, lasagna, ravioli, egg plant parmigiana, and many other delicious entrees and specials to pick from. Surprisingly, they even serve breakfast, here! I really enjoy their La Toscana Skillet. It comes with 2 eggs, toast, and hash browns mixed with ham, green peppers (not for me), mushrooms, mozzarella cheese and onions. IT IS DELICIOUS!!! If you are lucky enough, they even offer a great number of coupons! Some of the coupons offer, BUY ONE MEAL, GET ONE FREE, others are special prices on their PIZZA, LASAGNA, and CHICKEN MEALS. The coupons can be found on their website - toscanaitalian.com Also, the waiters and waitresses are always very courteous, friendly, and bring you service with a smile! =)

I used to love this place. Bought a pizza on average twice a month. The prices for pizza is a great deal. The last time I went, the bacon on the pizza tasted gross. I couldn't eat it. I called to inquire about it and I was told they only use fresh ingredients. No offer of a refund or accepting any responsibility. So I don't order from there anymore.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
