My 2nd 5 star review in the last two days! We were looking for pizza. I yelped and found a few places but most were Chicago style which I am not a fan of. I found another place and we were driving to when we past this place. I liked the outside and they did nothing but pizza (and calzone) so it has to be better than the place we were going to. Glad we stopped. I told the owner his place didn't come up inYelp. We had the Letterman with sausage pepperoni green peppers onion and black olives. Checked in at Yelp and got a free soda. Chopped salad as well. Thin crust and crispy. Excellent! All fresh ingredients and you can tell by how the ingredients were cut up it was probably by hand. The sauce was a sauce I have had at other pizzerias. Simple and not over the top or over done with spices. Because of that it didn't over power the toppings. Friendly service. We were greeted immediately and the apologized for the smoke but even the smoke smelled good. If you are looking for wonderful pizza that isn't deep dish you need to check Pie High. Across from Pizza Hut. This is what thin crust pizza is about. Not pie style sliced line NY like but I like it cut square because I know the crust is crispy. Check them out and support a locally owned restaurant.

Came here for a quick bite on our way out after Forth of July weekend with friends. Pizza was ok. Agree with other reviewers crust was good. Very kid friendly. Walking distance from the Abbey resort. Would go back.

While on a mini get away to Fontana WI, hubby and I dined in at Pie High Pizza. Pie high pizza met our expectations and then some. Hubby and I shared a sausage calzone and cheese, fresh basil and feta pizza. Both were delicious, crust was crispy, tasty and flaky. Venue is small but friendly atmosphere, theme is high school which makes it inviting. They have a shelf full of board games that you can play while waiting for your food. Kid friendly too! Will definitely return.

We were staying across the street and Pie High delivered. It was excellent. Lots of cheese! Excellent pepperoni.

Wonderfully crispy crust no skimping on the toppings. Easily best pizza we've had on the area, puts places like Pino's to shame. Friendly service and fun vibe. Can't wait to try their other menu options

If you're hungry and order delivery, don't expect it to come. I placed a single pizza delivery order last night over the phone at 5:00pm...it's 2:00pm the following day and no pizza, no call, no nothing.

It's not Chicago style pizza ..... But just as good!! Crust was nice and thin, basil and feta cheese was excellent!! Shared my calzone w/the wifey ... Forgetaboutit!!!

We came with a big crowd...4 families...everyone loved it! I know they're famous for pizza, but my burger was delicious!!!

This pizza was terrible. A soggy mess. The toppings were all over the place, not even close to 1/2 and 1/2 as ordered. I have an iron stomach and left this place with a bad stomach ache. Insult to injury, we ordered a $12 pitcher of Coors Lite, which was smaller than an average pitcher, and then noticed the Miller Lite $2 bottles sign. Thanks for pointing out the specials when we were ordering. Will never go back.

Excellent pizza, and friendly service, but man, this place is PACKED with FIBS! My kids loved it, but I guess we'll wait until the season is over before we go back, I don't think I could take another dinnertime of loud, rude, obnoxious tourists.

Three and half, only because I've only eaten here only once. I had the Letterman pizza. Decent crust, generous toppings, good sauce. They offer several beers, mainly New Glarius. Prices are reasonable. One plus is that it is right across the street from the Abbey Inn.

OMG! One of the dirtiest places I've ever been to. My family and I went there for Saturday lunch at noon, so place wasn't open for long. Food crumbs, dust, and layers for dirt all over tables, chairs, and all over the floor. The place was empty for a while until the cook came out of the back with flour covered hands to take our order. I paid him cash"hope he washed his hands" probably not.... Guy behind the bar more interested in the basketball game than wiping the dust coved bar or straightening up disarranged furniture. Looked like he rolled out of bed. I think he was the manager???? Food was just ok. Even a blah pizza is edible, this was one of them. A 14" is more like a 12"....close enough for this place, I guess. My wife was so disgusted by the conditions of place, that she e-mailed shortly after we left. The manager John agreed with us, and contemplated opening that day at all due to a new wall being put up. It was a Saturday, who would build a wall on a Friday night.....his comment was he ordered his crew not to clean up that night cause it was just going to get dirty. No apologies, just excuses that made no sense. Pie high pizza has no pride in what they do or serve. This place needs a visit from the health department. We will never go back here again and will not be surprised when it goes out of business. Not slamming this place for no reason, it's really disgusting.

I've eaten here more than a few times and figured it was time to share. Nice staff, comfortable seating, convenient location near the Abbey. But the best part is the pizza! My fave is the Bonfire, lotsa spice and flavor here. But the other pies are superb as well. It's very family-friendly so I'm comfortable bringing the wife and kids along, but I can still enjoy a cold one without feeling like I dragged 'em into a bar. Very clean, a great addition to the local scene in Fontana. I love that it's not a chain place and 9 times out of 10 the owner is right there working the ovens. Or call and they'll deliver!

This is our new favorite pizza place in the Geneva Lake area. They serve excellent thin crust pizza. The crust is flavorful with just the right amount of crunch; ingredients and cheese are fresh and plentiful. Our favorite is the Friday Night Lights -- a nontraditional pizza with an olive oil base instead of tomato sauce, tomato, mozzarella and killer fresh garlic. Normally, when we order pizza we like extra cheese, but at Pie High, they are very generous with toppings and it's not necessary. We also love the Letterman. It's extremely casual, with a fun high school theme including a basketball scoreboard and those old-school maps that your teacher would pull down over the chalkboard. It's a good place for kids. There's paper covering the tables and crayons so kids can color on them. There are also hula hoops and a Toss Across game outside to keep them busy. Finally, the beers on tap usually include Wisconsin-made Spotted Cow and one selection from the outstanding Geneva Lake Brewing Company. We've always had nice servers, but at a place like this it doesn't bother us to walk up to the counter to order a beer refill. We have not tried delivery yet.

Stopped in on a snowy day and so glad we did. The pizza had a nice crisp crust, good proportions of toppings. The calzone was yummy. Nicely baked. Ingredients were fresh. The hamburger was nicely cooked. Our group was well fed and will be back. Good sandwich menu to try.

Been in twice with others picking up food. The dirty bar towels in view was enough for me to opt for a beer in the bottle while waiting. Ick

Very good calzone. Chicken sandwich was decent as well. Can't speak to anything else as that's all that we had,but would eat here again.

Being from chicago and having "chicago pizza", I read some reviews and got a bit worried, but when I called, the guy was friendly and the delivery guy came within an hour and he was great- offered us paper plates and napkins knowing we were staying in a hotel! The Rib eye sandwich was great- my boyfriend said it was not fatty at all and super tender, said one of the best cooked pieces of meat he has had... pizza was great too! Really thin, but super delish! We got cheese and garlic there was a ton of garlic (which we LOVED!) Great place... super friendly and will be sure to visit again when we are back in WI! Great Job!

I placed an online order from Pie High at 6:59 pm. It's 9:25 pm and after calling them a 3rd time I was told by the manager that they just decided not to deliver to me. I have never spoken to a more rude manager ever. I live 1/4 mile from your store and somehow you couldn't find us. My phone has been on and I have a signal but somehow your driver doesn't have a phone. He certainly NEVER left a message. Now after I called a third time I was told that you will not even try to deliver. HORRIBLE

Our party of 4 stopped here on a Sunday afternoon. The food quality was less than average and service was pitiful. The place was empty (our first clue). It appeared that there were at least 6 people working, but they seemed only interested in the football game airing at that time. They were definitely not interested providing quality service. We were seated outside and we saw our server once which was when we received our food. We needed several things (think silverware, napkins, ketchup), my husband and I took turns going inside to ask for assistance. I do not recommend this place for anyone.

Nice pie! No skimping on ingredients, pretty good crust...they did a really nice job making ours just the way we asked - fast delivery as well - I'd recommend when making a visit up to the area!...

I love that the ingredients are fresh, the dough is made daily, and the restaurant is family owned. The atmosphere is hip, fun and friendly -- you could go on a date, with the kids, or alone -- and you would be at home. The piece de resistance: the taste! The owner operated successful pizza kitchens in Chicago for many years before relocating to this quiet, tourist town. Our good fortune, Fontana! Oh, and they will deliver to your home, boat, beach -- whatever. Another plus. Just call me "Norm" of Pie High. :)

FINALLY, great pizza in the Lake Geneva area. This place has the perfect thin, crispy crust . They make sure the ingredients go to the very edge. It's the perfect place for families. Very casual atmosphere. They serve wine and great beer. I would recommend the BONFIRE PIZZA. HOT! They have mulitiple tv's, so it's a great place to watch the games with friends and order up a couple of ZA's. Don't miss this place! It's right across from the Abbey. And they deliver!

Yeah! Yummy pizza in the Lake Geneva area! It's a wonderful family friendly restaurant. Very casual atmosphere. The pizza is great. Fabulous crust and they don't skimp on the cheese. They offer beer and wine as well which is a big plus for moms and dads. They also deliver! If you are in the Lake Geneva area, I highly recommend Pie HIgh Pizza.

Had two pizzas from their Lake Geneva shop on Williams... Simple 10 inch for grandson Calvin....he liked it! Sarah and I had the Letterman....16 inch.,...sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, onions and black olives. Was quite good...thin crust; lots of ingredients; very good. Will be back...

The place smells like a sewage dump. We ordered a pizza and waited about 5 minutes and the smell just hit us. We felt sick just being in there so we left. Save your appetite for a cleaner place.

Not bad pizza, I suppose. The crust was very thin and chewy, but was seasoned nicely. Honestly, it tasted better cold the next morning.

While visiting a near by B&B we wanted to order take out pizza, we had driven by this place on the way into town and it looked like a very inviting place. We placed our order online and then went to get our food not too much longer. It was ready right away and the staff was very friendly. The pizza crust was a little different than I had ever had but absolutely wonderful. The only downside was I would have liked to see field greens instead of iceberg lettuce in my salad. But I would definitely order from them again if in the area.

  • Ryan G.

Yikes, what's with all the bad reviews? My wife and I are new to the area and really enjoyed our experience. We ordered wings and a small pizza and it was the perfect amount of food. The price worked out to be just about right for a place like this so I was pleased. I'm happy to have a fun little restaurant close to home that is intentional with decoration and menu items. The website, which I think is a third-party service is having a couple of ordering issues on iOS 7 but I am sure those will he sorted out soon. We had the Friday Night Lights and hot wings. Both were yummy!

We stopped in on a whim today because our daughter saw the big, smiley tomato on the building. When we walked up we commented on how cute the outdoor space is (shared with the Coffee Mill next door). Through the window we could see, and hear, a large group of employees (6 or 7 of them) gathered around the bar talking. They dispersed before we got in the door leaving one girl running the front. She was friendly and helpful but pretty aloof -- giving us the lowdown on how to order. We picked 2 "freshman" pizzas (10" each), a chopped salad to share, and one Coors Banquet. The total bill came to $35. I thought this was high but reserved judgement for when the food came out. As we waited, we took in the atmosphere. Our daughter loved the games shelf and the paper on the tables to draw on. The atmosphere fits the theme of a high school hangout but is clean and comfortable. The high school theme seems to carry through to the staff though. It seemed as if there wasn't a person working over the age of 18. Though I may be getting old because since when can high school kids grow such epic lumberjack beards? The group of employees seemed bored and spent a lot of time leaning and laughing. We received the chopped salad promptly and I liked it. It was a decent size for the price. We asked for plates and forks to share it and the girl came back with 2 plates and 1 fork, which was odd, but we made it work. A few minutes later, the pizza came out. They looked good but small for the $23 price tag. Now, I'm a Sconnie girl and rarely complain about too much cheese... But on a thin crust pizza it can be the death of a crispy crust. The center pieces were all soggy and limp. The toppings were great though. We got a bbq chicken and one with pepperoni, sausage, and giardiniera. The crust flavor was ok. The bottom had a thick crust of burnt cornmeal on it, but once we brushed it off it was better. This was honestly going to be a two star review until the epicly bearded kid walked by and casually asked if we liked the pizza. It was the first time we felt like any of the employees cared that we were there. Overall decent. Our daughter raved about it, so there's that.

When we walked in on a Sunday night, were told there was no alcohol, appetizers and pizza would be between 45 minutes to an hour, as they did not have enough staff or someone old enough to serve alcohol....guess what...we walked out and will never go back

It's alright, but they could make some improvements. My spinach mushroom calzone was $9 after tax and HUGE! But like some have mentioned about the pizza, it was watery inside, and needed a more flavor. It was served with marinara on the side but needed more on the inside. They do use fresh mushrooms and spinach so I was happy about that! The chilly attitude from the young woman working there was kind of a damper on the "fun little pizza place in a small cutesy town" experience... Had my first New Glarus beer, the Spotted Cow cream ale on draft for $4.75 after tax. Loved it!

Took the family to The Abbey Resort and we felt like pizza for dinner. Pie High had good Yelp reviews so ordered a Hawaiian and a Cheese Calzone. We were unfortunately really disappointed. The crust was like cardboard and tasteless. The sauce and cheese were OK but the cheese slid off the crust. Isn't that Pizza 101? Maybe the regular cook was sick tonight? Staff was nice, but not a memorable meal. Don't know if we'd try again next time at the Abbey.

Went in for pick up on a Sunday evening. We ordered two large pizzas and were told on the phone it would be 40-45 minutes. We went there at 40 minutes and had to wait, no big deal. No one asked if we wanted to have a drink at the bar while we waited. However, at about 50 minutes, a young (teenage?) employee came from the back holding two pizza boxes COMPLETELY SLANTED. I think everyone knows what happens when you hold pizza slanted, and I would expect better from a pizza place employee. She then dropped them on the counter WITHOUT saying a name. We stood there another 5 minutes before asking if they were ours... of course they were. Seriously, you see people standing there and you don't ask? Anyways, got the pizza home and it was a sloppy mess and tasted very mediocre. The squares were also cut into about an inch by inch. Weird. As close as it is, probably won't go back.

Enjoyed some great think crust pizza at Pie High this last weekend with friends. Small location and I am sure gets busy and hard to find seating but, we lucked out with meeting friends who grabbed a table for our party of 6. Young, friendly staff who let us know the pizza wait would be a little longer since they were busy...so that was helpful and we ordered appetizers to tide us over. Had a garbage pizza and a pep and cheese....very flavorful and will definitely visit again. Only two wines...one white, one red...so if your a wino like me....just a head's up.....Larger beer selection...and they no longer serve pasta FYI. You order at the counter but, the staff comes to check on you for more beverages....pop is self service. Good service, great food!

Normally are loyal customers of pie high. The pizza used to be great but in the last few months the service and food quality has gone down quite a bit! You think being a customer who orders sometimes twice a week but I don't think we will order too much from here anymore :(

Easily the worst pizza I've had in several years. My teenagers didn't even make a serious dent in their pizza. The meatball sandwich was one of the saddest things ever...

  • Jen O.

My family and I just moved to the area from Chicago, and my kids love the pizza. They host many gatherings for schools, and my kids enjoyed the pizza slices and atmosphere. I personally cannot have pizza, so I get the Chickenopolous, which was delicious. It is a pita filled with grilled chicken, green peppers and grilled onion. Yum! You can tell they use fresh ingredients. Definitely recommend!

Ordered a simple large pizza half pepperoni with half sausage. When I got home, it was burnt and had no sausage. I waited an hour to pick this up. When I called, they just offered to give me my money back. This doesn't help me feed my kids, who were hungry now. We don't want two free pizzas down the road. If you are too busy to put out good product, then stop taking orders. The girls up front were frazzled and do not care about the customer experience. Why would they if the owner doesn't care. They never offered to run one over which is really the correct remedy. I actually brought the pizza back so they could see what a crap pizza they boxed up and tried to serve. At the end of the day, places like this lose a customer here and there and wonder why they went out of business a few years later. I say call Pino's. They are alot better. Their number is (262) 275-6698.

We ordered a pizza to the abbey near this pizza place. I tried on line twice and it errored. I called to place the order. I was told that it would be here in less Han an hour. At an hour and 20 minutes we called to check on the status. We were transferred to 3 people and told it was on the way. I have now waited another 21 minutes and still no pizza. Cannot even comment on the pizza that I have waited an hour and 42 minutes to get. Just be honest and then I can plan accordingly.

I rest my case. Another terrible response. Sums up the experience. NEVER again. Lots of other places to buy pizza where customers are valued...and orders are taken correctly. Hmmmmmm. Maria F.'s review is suspicious. A stooge for the owner? Possibly, a totally made-up review? Interesting that "she " waited an entire day to post it...and only after my review was posted. Very suspicious. And, why not post right away if it was that big of a deal? There are also several inconsistencies in the story, "Maria." Pathetic..... Score another one for Pie High Pizza!!!!! :-) Can't wait for "Maria's" reply! LOL!!!!!!

After reading mixed reviews on Yelp (some pretty petty) my boyfriend & I decided to give this a go after passing it a handful of times on our drives to & from Fontana. The decor is really cute! High school cafeteria themed more or less, with a score board & little Pie high banners. Super family friendly, paper & crayons on the table for kids while they wait. Also a corner with board games and the like. We ordered a calzone to split and it was enormous & really good. I'm looking forward to coming back next time were in town.

Neat little pizza/sandwich shop. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was cozy with some nice decor and TVs. The prices were a little high and the pizza wasn't amazing but it was ok. The chicken sandwich and Italian sausage is great. Spotted cow on tap is also a definite plus.
