I had to show the wife (from Cali) what true Wisconsin cheese is all about so we decided to go here, it was about an hour and a half drive from where we are staying but totally worth the drive. We went here for the cheese curds, which were made freshly and they had about six different flavors( we got the original and the jalapeño) but the steal of the day is the chipotle cheddar, we got a sample before we decided on it and it is one of the best cheeses I have ever had. The place has a really friendly staff and as many Nick nacks as you can count, all and all, it is really worth a visit if you're close.

I went to college at UWRF, but had never been to the Ellsworth Creamery until today. I really missed out when I went to college; their cheese curds are truly the best. I have never had cheese curds that fresh; every bite squeaks. Their soft serve ice cream is also wonderful; it is rich and creamy. I would definitely recommend making the trip. Also, a previous reviewer stated the entrance was difficult to find; I thought the retail entrance was well-marked.

Ellsworth is the Cheese Curd Capital. This isn't just a title given to this creamery oasis that still makes the curds and other cheeses fresh daily. This title describes the experience from purchase to chowing down on these delicious morsels. Any day of the week you can go and grab a few bags of the tasty curd nuggets ( in many different flavors ) and they will still be warm. It's all int he flavor but a true curd nut like me knows it's all about the squeak to determine freshness and quality. I'm so fortunate to have a place close by where I can go and get these heavenly bites. They have a variety of other goods as well. They have brats that are made with local meats and filled with cheese curds inside the casing. So hard to say anything other than YUM! They will ship curds out for you so that your friends or relatives that don't have it so good to have a creamery close by. These people are magnificent but there products are far better =) The new store location is a bit difficult to find but well worth it. Now, go get your squeak on!!

Stopped on my way back to Milwaukee from MN. The shop had soooooo much cheese, I came home with a bagful. Te staff was super happy and polite and let me wander for a while before asking if I needed help. They have their own cheeses as well as other creameries. So much to choose from and such a clean facility!

Great cheese curds, of course. But the new entrance to the sales shop is hard to find and makes one feel as if he is starting a shift there, not going in to buy goods. After you've walked around trying to find the way in for a while, go in the unmarked door over by the gigantic tank in the parking lot. KEEP IN MIND YOU ARE IN ELLSWORTH. The picture YELP uses for this place shows the old, easier to find entryway. Fresh curds after 3:00 PM each day if you want to get them while they squeak.

Yeah you gotta check this place out. Cheese city! The curds are fresh and there is a good selection of other cheeses and everything else. There's a lot of good cheese in Wisconsin I know (trust me) and this place would be best for the fresh curds. WOW! Kinda a weird smell when you walk in the place. Sure it's the whole place from making all the cheese! Service seemed good and there was plenty of parking. I am for sure going back again and again. Check them out if you're in the area! You'll love it.

Ellsworth, Wisconsin is home to the best cheese curds in the world. This is a fact. Not just my opinion. & where would you find the freshest cheese curds in town? @ the creamery, of course! This place is fantastic! The best cheese curds you will ever eat. Ever! Can you sense my excitement? For those of you not from the midwest, a cheese curd comes from the cheese making process & yields a chunk of cheese (curd) with a creamy cheese taste. The curds are so fresh that they squeak against your teeth when you chew them. This sounds weird & unappetizing, but this trait is distinctive of authentic down-home midwest cheese curds. Yum! The Co-Op offers every flavor of cheese curd you can imagine: plain white or orange curds or flavored with hickory bacon, garlic, ranch, or jalapeno. The Co-Op also sells serving plates, kitchen utinsels, & deli fare. Absolutely worth the drive. Yum, yum, & more yum!

Make this place a regular jaunt when you want a taste of Wisconsin from local dairy farms in what I think is the most beautiful county in America, Pierce County. A former governor deemed Ellsworth the cheese curd capital of Wisconsin and for good reason. They are known to most locals for their bovine growth hormone-free dairy products such as fresh cheeses, Wisconsin butter for about $2 a pound (last time I was there) and famous Ellsworth curds that you can buy in major retail outlets like Cub. But here the curds are for much less per pound. Plus they are fresh as the place makes a like several million pounds a day. A&Ws across the country and Miller Park in Milwaukee serve them battered and deep fried. You can buy them lightly battered, too, if you want to give your deep Fry Daddy a workout. The cheese curds come in several flavors: ranch, taco, regular. And if you hit it just right, they will have the cheese curd crumbles, or "seconds" not big enough to make it in the regular curd offerings, at like $2 a pound. I think they are curd-worthy to eat by hand if you don't want to eat so much because they are so addictive. Sold as "great for cooking," the crumbles are a tad smaller and good for guilty consciences. There's always a special sale price on a particular type of cheese too. Check the hours on its web site, because they close early on Saturdays ellsworthcheesecurds.com . It's less than an hour southeast of St. Paul.

I'm a native Wisconsinite, and I moved to CA -- where most people don't even know what a cheese curd is. I'm infinitely thankful that they deliver these squeaky little morsels from heaven nationwide. My boyfriend is too, as they were part of his birthday gift. And the recipe for the batter on the bag is AMAZING.

This is a local creamery in a dairying region of Wisconsin. They make cheese, and, especially, make cheese curds. (A cheese curd is the result of the first step in making cheddar cheese: Basically, it's a milky, mild, squeaky, wonderful-tasting thing! They make them plain (my favorite) or with flavors -- garlic is great, also. At 11 am each day the day's fresh curds are brought out (people come there just to get them still warm from the vats), but chilled curds are always available. They also carry a wide variety of other local Wisconsin goodies: Cheese from many other source, honey, jams, etc. Try them and see why Ellsworth proclaims itself the Cheese Curd Capital of the World.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
