CJ's Kountry Inn is about as good as it gets for country breakfast. They're only open early, like 5AM-11:30AM, so you have to get out of your drunk bed on Saturday morning if you want to enjoy their excellent food. The breakfast is a generally American style, with a few special dishes. Specifically the "Plates". The "Plates" are heaping mounds of mixed skillet fare. I prefer the "John's Plate", which, if memory serves, is two double yolk eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, mushrooms, cheese, some peppers, etc.. It comes in Full, 1/2 and 1/4 sizes, and trust me, 1/4 is about the size of a normal meal and 1/2 is pushing it. I've seen many a hungover man try and conquer a full "Plate" and fail. There are several types of "Plates" available, along with more normal stuff like pancakes, waffles and the like. Best thing is, CJ's is inexpensive all around to boot. Even sides like english muffins and so forth are non-confiscatory. Love this place.

This is classic small-town, home-cooked eats. While off the beaten path, unless you happen to be at Kettle Moraine state park, this is a local gem. No fuss. Inexpensive. Delicious. The menu is standard diner-type fare. I took the advice of another review to have the Jon's Plate. As a disclaimer, I eat great quantities of food - especially when hiking. Having finished 10 miles in 95 degree heat the previous day, I was ready for a serious breakfast. A half-order of the Jon (sounds racy, but here refers to a piling of hashbrowns, ham, cheese, eggs, etc.) with a half-order of made-from-scratch biscuits and gravy followed by coffee and OJ amounted to a full meal...and then some. All for about $12. The order took some time, because a) it was cooked-to-order, and b) the regulars got their food first - you can't blame a truly local place for this: it's how they survive. Everything was delicious; definitely greasy spoon, but absolutely in the way you would hope. Attentive service by the congenial man who appears to own the place. Oh, and the decor is exactly right for the place. M&M memorabilia in every nook and cranny. An entire display of Campbell's soup cups and bowls within an old hutch. And photos of family and friends everywhere. Taking all this in, you can't help to feel relaxed and at home. This is worth the 5 minute detour off I-43. Then take a little time to drive a couple of miles south into Elkhorn proper. Lots of charm.

Excellent breakfast. We had Country fried steak with amazing sausage gravy, choice of potato (we has very crisp American fries), choice of toast and 2 double yolk eggs. And Hobo O'Brian - crispy hash Bronson loaded with onion, green pepper and ham; topped with 2 perfectly done over easy eggs.

Alright first off I'm not sure if this is a restaurant with a craft store in it , or a craft store that serves food . They have their own home made jams , but they don't serve them at breakfast they are available for purchase only apparently . The service is pretty lame , impersonal and just plain sucks . The food is ok . I would much disagree with the other reviews .
