I love this place. The owner Chris does everything right. The fresh cut fries, beefs, dogs and gyros are delicious and the merkts Cheddar burger is a Wisconsin favorite. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous.

This is authentic Chicago at its finest. I would put this beef against any in Chicago. Tender meat, great juice, seasoned to perfection. So good i went twice in one day!

**Mainly written for Illinois expats/visitors** Portillo's is to heroin as Brodie's is to suboxone. I moved to Walworth Co. from Chicagoland four years ago and this place is by far the closest taste of home I've found anywhere in a 30 mile radius. You'll get a lot of the same food at Brodie's as you would at Portillo's (burgers, dogs, beef, etc) but I have to say the latter is a clear winner. With that said, I'm shamelessly biased and Brodie's still easily gets me my fix. I'm still waiting for the day I get one of their Chicago dogs with that perfect Vienna Beef 'pop' and I doubt the buns are S. Rosen's... but it's close enough given our circumstances. My personal favorite is the Italian combo. However, if Chicago food only reminds you of tire boots, tollways, and Jay Cutler, there's plenty of regular sports bar type food on their menu too. Everything I've tried tastes pretty damn good but some of their new fried side items sound f*****g awful. The people behind the counter are always nice and everything's priced fairly. I eat here about 3x a month. Hope this helps!

I needed to boost my iron and thought immediately of Brodies. I'd been here before, but never tried their Brodie Cheddar Burger (burger, egg, and cheddar). I came in Sunday afternoon and waited in an 8 person line to place my $5 order. Ten minutes later I exited with burger in bag in hand. I was pretty disappointed when I got home and realized they forgot to slap on the cheddar, and then extra disappointed when the charring of the burger overtook the taste, especially since the burger was well-well-done and I'm a rare-medium kinda gal. Oh well. If there's a next time, I'll have to double check my bag. I like to support local, so I'll probably try again and offer an update.

Not a bad place, food is slightly above average good place to go for an Italian beef sandwich, They also have some unique specials available as well. Also have a good assortment of appetizers/sides which is always nice when you want to change it up a little bit. Owner is nice and friendly, he also usually has cubs tickets for sale which is pretty nice. Good sports themed place with good food. People complaining about waiting for food should relax a little bit and enjoy some fresh cooked food.

I love this place! I don't think I've had fries soo good at ANY Chicago style joint. Some complain and say they are old but rest assured that fresh fries that aren't chemically enhanced don't look the same! I ordered a beef and cheddar and it was absolutely perfect. Chris the owner is a really nice guy who appreciates his customers, you really gotta try it out. Next time I think I'll try out their dogs.

Stopped by for lunch on the way to work and after reading the reviews thought I should give it a try. The place was relatively empty for mid day. The lady at the counter was friendly and menu had a decent variety of food. I decided to try one of the burgers......it was just like the stars say A-OK. If it weren't for the patty itself, it would have been excellent. The meat was just way overcooked, over processed, and lacked any real flavor. It is kind of sad, because the toppings and bread were excellent. Even the cheese had a real smooth meltyness that would have been perfect if the meat it covered tasted good. For a $6 burger I expected a little better quality of the meat. I would like to go back and try some other items on the menu. They appeared to have gyro meat and seem to emphasize there hot dogs on the menu. Other patrons appeared to be content with their meals.

My first time here. The previous reviews are enough to scare someone off, however I'm craving Italian hot beef so here we go! Place is clean and staff was very friendly when I came in. I preferred the Italian hot beef just the sandwich not the basket and a water. Water is fresh and clean no black things in ice. Onto the food! Bread was overly soggy. Very greasy presentation( not a bad thing) perfect amount of cheese beef and peppers, and messy in a good way. Don't let past reviews scare u. This is good food at a fare price

Under new management, the decor has changed from the sports memorabilia to nostalgic commercial signs. It's lost a bit of their "Chicago Dog" feeling. Overall, service was good. Food was relatively fast, we had a craving for Gyros and thought of Brodie's! Their hand cut fries were piping hot. The food was presented nicely, and was made to order. It was actually better than we anticipated! I would recommend it for a casual lunch.

Had lunch here last Friday. Ordered the Italian beef and fries meal, with giardiniera. A little pricey at about ten bucks with a drink but not unreasonable for the quality. Bread was fresh and sturdy, meat was tender and juicy, fries were hot and crispy. Ordered ahead, however, and waited 10 minutes once we arrived 20 minutes after I ordered or this would probably be a 5 star review. Would recommend.

Ok, so I used to eat at Brody's and were never that impressed. However a new owner has taken over and I have to say that they are running this restaurant fantastically! The food is so fresh! I have been having the gyros and they are so fresh, juicy and tender meat. I'm addicted! They are so friendly when you order and the owner always goes around checking to make sure all is well. I love when they do that! Looking for a great dinner or lunch? Go now!!!!

Where's the Beef? As it was my first visit to Brodie's Beef, I ordered the Beef sandwich basket (Beef Sandwich, Fries and a Drink) which cost me $8.85. What I got was more bread than meat and what meat there was, was tough and chewy. The Fries were old, likely reheated in the fryer. Service was adequate, but nothing special. Overall this was an overpriced for poor food experience and one I'll not partake in again. I'd recommend passing on Brodie's Beef.

Tonight my husband and I went in here for dinner. From the outside the place looks like an average, almost welcoming, fast food stand. Upon entering, the mood changes for the worse. We were "greeted" by a wisp of a look, no words from either the man or woman "working" there. No one else was in the joint, yet no one seemed to care we were waiting in line to order. Finally a man walked up to the register. He didn't offer a "Hello", didn't bother to ask "Do you have questions about our menu" or any other common respectful greeting. Just a blank stare... I asked how much a Chicago dog was with no fries. He gave me an attitude and pointed at the menu above his head. WELL. PARDON. ME. Next I went to pour water into a cup from the machine they have there. When I went to pour the ice it left a black slimy spec in the cup. CLEAN YOUR MACHINES. We paid for our order and had a seat in their "dining" area which consists of a handful of tables and "arcade" games that aren't even plugged in. We only waited about five minutes, so high five for their speediness. The quality of the food was poor at best. The bun was soggy, the pickle was obviously old, and the tomatoes were thin. There were hardly any onions... way to skimp on the ingredients. The frank wasn't anything special either. My husbands chili dog was a waste as well. During our dinner, the woman came out and was messing with the fuse box. Next thing I know, the lights were out in the dining area... "Ooops." This place is rude, unclean and they certainly don't make up for it with the quality in their food.

I have never been here, but the smell brought me in. I wasn't sure what to order so I asked the owner to just fix me something. He fixed me a Italian beef sandwich with handout fries. I know Yummers isn't a word, but that it the one that comes to mind. The flavor was great without it being heavy like some Italian beef sandwiches can be. It is definitely something you can eat for lunch without feeling like you need a nap afterwards. Great place with a sport's atmosphere.

This is my go-to place when I'm in Delavan. It's been at least two years since I've been here but I have a good memory when it comes to burgers. I'm a very picky burger eater but Brodie's has always been satisfying. Love the burgers... good, quality meat, cooked to perfection. Not too burnt/charred, not too raw. Get it with the Merkt's Chedder. O...m...g. Awesome addition! I also love the fried mac & cheese bites that I get instead of fries or onion rings. They have some salads on the menu if you're health conscious, but this isn't the place to go if you're looking for a healthy bite to eat. Can't pass up those burgers or the italian beef (never tried, but it looked fantastic). This isn't a quick in, quick out burger joint. They take awhile to cook the orders. I've waited ~20 minutes before even when it wasn't overly crowded. Nonetheless, it has always been worth the wait in the end.
