Great Cumberland original. It's always packed so plan on waiting in line if you don't have a reservation. Must try the ravioli!! (Either one is awesome). Take out is available and always fresh and ready. A must stop if in Cumberland.
I grew up in Iowa, and our favorite Aunt lives close by in Clear Lake, Wi. I have been eating here my entire life. It's delicious! I am now gluten-free, so I can't enjoy their pasta. However, I LOVED their ravioli and cavatelli as a kid. Their sauce is absolutely perfect--I wish I could recreate it. When I go now, I take my cooked GF pasta, and they serve it up with their sauce and a side of sausage--which is to die for. This place is a little hidden gem. If you're in the area, make sure to stop in. You won't be disappointed. I am going to nominate it for Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I would love to see this small town standby on the Food Network!
I was very unimpressed by the food My wife and I stopped by, and ordered the sampler platter. We tried the cheese and raisin ravioli, pizza, salad, and cheese bread. It was edible, but thats about it. The marinara sauce which was put on everything tasted like it came out of a can. The salad was just a bag salad, and the pizza the crust was like cardboard. I would not recommend this place at all, the only thing it had going for it was the service as there was only 2 other people in the place.

Point anywhere in the menu and it will be an awesome meal. This Cumberland original now is a must see from what it used to be. With a great history behind it makes this a must see in Cumberland. In the summer the cocktails are so good you may need more then one.
We just had the most awesome meal at The Tower House. The service was fast and attentive. The homemade bread was a treat. The 3 cheese Ravioli w raisins was so outstanding i almost ordered a take home portion. There is a small, well stocked bar and easy wine selections. the home was built in 1882 and the new owners have meticulously restored it inside and out. I can't wait to come back in summer to sit out on the patio!!!!
I don't know that I can add a great deal more - except to say - it so refreshing to have a really nice place to enjoy good food. Great staff - attentive. As Dave says ... A great discovery. Bring your parents or friends for a dining experience you usually in get in a more metropolitan area. The vintage (not junk) interior and smell of garlic will pull you in. Enjoy! Next stop - if I am ever hungry again - The Corner Bar.

Great out of the way spot. We have always had great food! They make a great old fashioned too. The deck is a great place to have a drink and listen to some music..
I had a fabulous dinner here a year ago, but what a difference a year makes... and not in their favor. We ordered the Steak Delmonico and the special of Rack of Lamb. Both were order medium-rare and both came out medium-well. The steak was not as delicious or as tender as the previous year. The lamb had very little meat on the bones. A total disappointment. The service was great and that was their only saving grace, sorry to say, we won't go back again, not worth the drive.
We have been here several times. Only twice have we had good food. Unfortunately, last night was again one of the bad nights, and sadly it will now be the last night. Summary of our food: I had the steak and lobster $44. The lobster was so salty, it was inedible. Even my husband (who is very forgiving of all food:), could not eat it. I sent it back. Fifteen minutes later (we had completed our dinner by then), I received a new lobster....again, salty to the point of inedible. I did not eat it and was given a $20 credit on my bill. As far as my steak, it was dry, tough and overdone. It was also supposed to be about 6 -7 ounches, except it was only 3 ounces at best. My husband ordered the 'triple something' entree. It consisted of dry, tasteless chicken tenders, a small half rack of ribs that were pretty good, and boiled, tasteless (here they forgot the salt) shrimp. The shrimp were billed as "Jumbo & Broiled." Not so much. Much of the lettuce in my salad was turning brown. My au gratin potatoes were very bland and dry. The french onion soup did not taste homemade and was watery. However, my husband loved his clam chowder. It was our 35th wedding anniversary, and they said we were going to get a free dessert. I'm sure it was supposed to be a mousse, but rather it tasted and looked like whipping cream with chocolate powder. In an effort to re-do our anniversary evening, we went to Porterhouse Seafood & Steak in Little Canada, MN the next evening. I had steak and lobster again. This time the steak was a tender, juicy filet mignon at a full 7 ounces, and my lobster was twice the size as what I received at 5 O'clock. Not to mention all of the sides were absolutely fresh and delicious. My meal there was $45.00. So for a dollar more I got twice the quantity and 100 times the quality. However, our server was an absolute delight, and the outside seating is beautiful.

Disappointing. We remember back in 2011 how great this place was and they had lost a great cook. for a few years it wasn't very good but recently we read they got an old chef back and was hoping it was the same guy. Unfortunately it wasn't. Went there and ordered the fish fry with baked Potato and poppyseed chicken salad. The fish was overly battered and had no seasoning. Baked Potato must have been reheated. Tasted burnt and was mushy. Salad was taken from buffet line and chicken added. Mediocre at best. Online menu said they had filets but hadn't evidentially switched over yet, pretty much sandwiches and Friday fish fry. Was really hoping this place improved.
