They no longer have malts or milshakes and the last two times we went in, it felt like the waitress was bothered by having paying customers. Food isn't as good as it used to be, just OK. There's not a whole lot of choices in this town but we'll look for something else.

We picked the wrong day to go. The fryer was broken so we couldn't have anything fried. So, no french fries, no taco salad, no chicken salad...you get the idea. (It blew my excitement since they didn't have shellfish on the menu) I had the mushroom swiss burger, canned mushrooms of course, and a slab of partially melted swiss cheese. The American fried potatoes that I had were undercooked and just not tasty. Pretty disappointed because we were excited about the price. Burger was under $5.

Had breakfast there yesterday. Very good service, owner and staff seem like great people. Denver Skillet. Shaved grilled ham, green peppers, 2 eggs over hash browns. Ham was amazing but not enough of it, peppers were well sautéed, hash browns weren't cooked enough for my liking. Over medium eggs were perfect. Cup of sausage gravy(average) and rye toast, with coffee (not hot enough). This place for breakfast, is average.

My other half and I stopped in this place for breakfast on our way to Rhinelander. Good food with a nice small town atmosphere.

The food is very good, and (for the most part) appears to be made from scratch. The prices are very reasonable (a dinner with soup and salad is usually about $8.00), these days it costs $8.00 to eat at McDonalds. The size of the meals are adequate to fill you up. The salad bar is adequate for the size of the restaurant. The restaurant does make a very nice effort to provide quality food, and a decent price.

Nothing fancy, yet too good to be considered a greasy spoon. 5 stars for my delicious biscuits and gravy, my husband's savory cheeseburger breakfast skillet (their bacon is mighty tasty), the perky and attentive server, beautiful wood table, quaint atmosphere, and the fair prices on the menu. We pass through Crandon at least once a month, and we'll definitely be back. Other breakfast joints in the area are underwhelming, but this one is just right. I didn't try the coffee so I can't comment on that.
