Excellent products and efficient friendly service. The croissants, pains au chocolats and other breads and pastries are to die for....The only thing missing in the store is an espresso machine so that customers could enjoy a latte or cappuccino with their pastries, breads or snack. Parking and seating can be an issue at times. Cedarburg is a town with lots of charm and Boulangerie du Monde is a perfect fit.

This is a true gem, we actually moved house to be near this place. The bread and pastries as well as the staff are wonderful. If I could convince myself that anything on the menu was low calorie I would have breakfast in here every single day.

In my opinion, as a bakery, this is as good as it gets. #1 - the people - they are super friendly. #1 is a Tie - with their Sugar Croissants. I write this review, reluctantly, because they usually run out of their Sugar Croissants. If more yelpers go, they might run out of sugar croissants more quickly.. but in the interest of good will, I write this. Years ago, I used to be a fan of Krispy Kreme. Not anymore - because they cause rapid weight gain - DUH! :) I eat sugar croissants from Boulangerie and they are not at all damaging to the waist. I have not figured out why.. but I am pleased with the result! Very rarely, do we come across tasty foods, which don't damage our fitness goals.. This is one of those products - Believe it or not, I don't care.. but it is just my opinion - now guessingland - probably because they use the best ingredients.. and are made fresh, without any preservatives.. Caution: They are very addictive! I go almost every weekend.. I have tried their cupcakes - they were not to my liking but others might like them. They are not bad but I decided, they are not worth the calories.

Spectacular bread and pastries, easily the high point of the Cederburg strip for me. The Russenzopf cinnamon roll (literally, "Russian braid") is tender and slightly nutty. The pain d'epi ("wheat-stalk-shaped bread") hits my penchant for pull-apart rolls, and makes a beautiful presentation if you can avoid breaking the chain. Despite the large surface area, it lasts longer than a baguette --- good the next day, but not after that. My favorite part --- they were running out of items in the afternoon, which usually indicates they've baked the right amount and don't carry things over to the next day. Definitely takes me back to my European bakery adventures; this place is the real deal.

Boulangerie du Monde has been around for a few years now - it's nice to see that Cedarburg has a true French bakery. I visited a little over a year ago and then again today for a quick snack. On this visit, there weren't any pastries or macarons on offer, which disappointed me a little. To be fair, maybe those come out toward the weekend vs. a random Tuesday which I can totally understand. I did try their version of the macaron on a previous trip and thought they were "ok" - well sized, well priced but they were flavored with almond flavoring, which I didn't care for. The atar here is really the bread - baguettes, rolls, croissants and other gluten filled delights. There are a few "sweet" choices like Danish, bear claws or pain au chocolats but this isn't a donut bakery - it's a bread bakery. (The French strongly believe that either you are a bread baker or a pastry maker which is why there are boulangeries and patisseries and there's not too much crossover) Anyway,I grabbed a pain au chocolat on this visit and it was delightful. Buttery, flaky and just the right amount of chocolate. I might have liked their version of this treat a wee bit better than Rocket Baby's version as the crust didn't shatter into 1,000,000 pieces and get all over my shirt. Overall, great bread, great croissants, great location. Selection is so/so compared to Rocket Baby.

Fantastic bread and pastries! Crusty bread that's light and fluffy inside. Closest thing to real French bread I've tasted in the Milwaukee area. The morning buns are amazing. And the mini brioche buns are perfect for sliders and sandwiches - They freeze really well too!

Where do I even start...it's all really amazing! When we moved to Cedarburg over a year ago, I was so excited to find this gem. The store has a variety of breads and pastries. Some of them, I had never heard of before! The Gibassier is such a treat - a pastry made with orange blossom and star anise. It's out of this world! I do wish they would offer a few more dessert options - they have macarons and some cupcakes, but not a huge selection. But their pastries and breads are extremely good. This is my go to place when I have people visiting from out of town and I want to get them something special for breakfast :)

Love this place. I go in for bread or rolls - and always walk out with more! Great place to order rolls for parties and get togethers.

This place is amazing. No, I haven't tried their bread or rolls (yet); but their macarons? Astounding, addictive, and priced just right at a dollar each, I could have eaten a dozen in one sitting. The lemon macaron is the perfect treat on a hot day.

Worth a trip to Cedarburg on its own. Closest to the taste of Europe, with a scent and texture that entices. Core breads are wonderful. Pretzel rolls are a snack on their own.

Delightful bakery right in the middle of downtown shops. They have a few tabes and a few beverages avalable as well. Apparently they have a Facebook page for promotions, more information, etc.
