RTH is a Lomira staple. You can't visit this town without stopping here (as there isn't much to Lomira..) During the week you'll find that it's a very popular place for Quad/Graphic's employees to stop in for a drink/food after work as it's just down the street from the plant. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the inside is surprizingly nice, clean, cozy. The drinks are pretty cheap and they have different specials throughout the week which is great. I've only eaten the nachos here, but they were awesome. They come in really large sizes and a 1/4 size could easily feed two people.

I've been to this place dozens of times since it opened (6+ years ago?), and have known the owner forever. The main reason we went there was for the wings. The "Rock your World" wings were (emphasis on were) some of the best tasting, heat wings I've ever eaten. And I love the $h*t outta' wings!! The last 2 times we visited in the past year, we noticed there's far less heat than they used to be. Not a deal killer, but not a "hey, lets drive 20 miles to get those wings". Cuz that's how far away we live. My wife & I drove out last Friday, and vowed this would truly be our last visit. The owner (Karen) continues to be hospitable, and a great host. The rest of her staff doesn't seem to carry that same concern. We stopped in around 6:30 - high time for Friday Fish Fry night. Place was half empty. Unless you counted the staff. I counted 6 people in the kitchen at one time doing God knows what. It's all deep fried food for God sake! I ordered a 4 pc. Pollack & my wife order Jumbo, fried shrimp. I expected the Pollack to be just "so-so", and it met my expectations. The fries were so black and almost "leathery", they were difficult to chew. My wife's "jumbo" shrimp were actually, "average or less" sized shrimp with so much batter on them, it made them look like prawns. They weren't! Long & short is that this is an operation in disarray. I'm guessing they have steadily lost business, so they cheapen up the food quality. Yet, the owner insists on scheduling staff as though there will be people falling out the windows. They're not! If you want a cold drink & able to tolerate less than stellar bar food. Rock the House is your place. If you're looking for something better, stay on the highway.

Typical small town bar/restaurant. Fairly small. Service had always been good & friendly. Food, seems to change based on who is cooking that day. I've had some good meals & some bad meals. Our last visit our French fries seemed to have been dropped back in oil to reheat then forgotten about. They were burnt & dried out. Our server did offer to bring us a new basket of fries after we said something. However second batch wasn't much better. They weren't as burnt but still horrible tasting. Not sure if their oil is extremely dirty or what issue was. The rest of our meals were poor as well this last visit. Was really not worth the $50 for a family of 4. may not return.

Was traveling to look at some of the stone quarry's in Fond Du Lac, when my family came across Rock the House Pub and Grub. Bathrooms were very clean, service was good. My dads chicken Parmesan sandwich was fantastic. My mom loved the homemade french fries, and the barbecue sauce was delicious. We would definitely make the two hour drive back to this place in a heart beat.

Rock the House is a typical rural midwestern roadhouse/watering hole/restaurant. Adjust your expectations accordingly and you will have yourself a great time. Ambiance: it's a tavern. Lots of TVs for the sportsminded; unfortunately, when we were there on Saturday evening, all of them were on the Golf Channel instead of the Stanley Cup finals. Tables are the high, bar-stool style instead of what you'd find in a restaurant. Food: tasty and plentiful, especially the haystack onions. The full order of haystack onions is approximately the size of an actual haystack, so groups of 3 or less should probably think half-order. The menu is typical pub grub, with steaks and prime rib tossed in (as well as the obligatory Friday fish fry). The chef clearly knows how to prepare steaks; my 14oz ribeye was very tasty, if a bit gristly in places. On the down side, he's got a heavy hand on the salt shaker -- our fried onions were definitely on the salty side and my wife's prime rib was as well. Service: Quick, friendly, and attentive (despite switching beers on me when asked for a refill -- when your customer is drinking Shock Top Honeycrisp Wheat Beer (yummm), don't bring him a Leinie's Summer Shandy (yick) by mistake. The management was very nice about correcting the situation, so no stars knocked off. All things considered, we had a nice, enjoyable dinner. If the bartender was on the ball and put the hockey game on the TVs, we could have spent most of the evening there. The next time we're in the area, we'll be back here. If you're in the Lomira/Brownsville area, you should eat/drink here.
