the food is always good, and the service, but the place looks dirty, and greasy, u wonder if the inspector has ever been there....also we had a coupon they wouldn't honor for 10 dollars we had purchsed earlier.........makes them look bad

I was at this homey restaurant with two friends coming back to Iowa from the apple extravaganza in Gays Mills, WI. We all felt fortunate to find this gem in a small town. Everything we ordered was very tasty, especially the fried potatoes. They were sooooo good! Our waitress couldn't have been nicer to us. 9/27/14

I have visited this establishment numerous times over the years and will say this, it is very hit or miss. The service and food quality varies from visit to visit. With the exception of the Friday Fish Fry, which I must say is pretty good. The salad bar is excellent as well, but I believe is only used during the Fish Fry. Also, when giving a choice of potato, chose the hashbrowns, the fries aren't great. Honestly, I think they use the same fryer for everything and it shows up in the taste of the fries.

Went for lunch and had fried chicken, coleslaw, and American fries. The latter were disgustingly greasy. Coleslaw looked like it had been in frig over a week. Yes, you received plenty of food, but why would you want to eat it? Walls covered with interesting paintings from a local artist. However, they couldn't compensate for the dirty walls and general grime. Whole place needs a thorough cleaning and remodeling. Never again. Yuck!
