This is a hidden gem. From the appetizers to the service it was all excellent. Their garlic and white bean spread was delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the risotto was very good. Also served excellent wines and have a good selection. The service was on point all night and we enjoyed each course on our time. I love a place that makes you feel you are welcome to be there and stay as long as you like. Met the owner's mother, the owner, and the chef, all of which were very gracious. Thank you for a great meal.

Gem of a surprise in the tiny town of Barronette, Wisconsin. The cuisine is 5-star in a very understated setting. We had salmon and baked walleye. Both were excellent.Hope to try the prime rib and pasta dishes another time. Very accessible from Rice Lake, Turtle Lake, between Cumberland and Shell Lake on Hwy 63.

In tthe middle of nowhere is this fabulous restaurant. Jack & I were in rural Wisconsin visiting our nephew, his lovely wife and their adorable son. They took us here together with his best friend, wife and daughter. We had a fabulous time. I had one of the best Puttanescas ever. So, the sweet waitress didn't know what a kir royal was, but she did send over the bartendress who knew enough to tell me they had no creme de cassis. For where it is it was great

Service was excellent and the food was out of this world, found this little gem via yelp! Family owned and operated, the chefs mom was our waitress , love this place, I would pit it against any place I have been around Chicago

Amazing restaurant. We had the sous chef and were still wowed. The chef is one of the owners. Price performance ratio is unbeatable. $75 for a bottle of reasonable wine, exciting salads & fabulous meals for two. Ask for the reserve wine list. Great service. Thursdays are the chefs experimental night. Seafood is same-day-shipped; chef orders in the morning and you get it for dinner. They are clearly interested if you have any feedback on the meal too.

What a surprise to find a place like this in the middle of nowhere! After a week of eating nothing but fried and grilled food, nice to have an option for something different. The scallops were among the next I've had, my wife's cavatelli was amazing, prices were quite reasonable, service was fantastic, in all a great dinner on our last night in Wisconsin.

Needle In the Northwoods Haystack! What a gem of a restaurant and a beautiful drive from Rice Lake. Their menu has traditional as well as more inventive offerings, so everyone should be able to find something to their liking. I had the pan seared scallops, very delicious with a side of au gratin potatoes. Dinners are generous with soup or salad and focaccia bread included. My husband had the Panko crusted tilapia with risotto which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. They have a Friday night fish fry that looked great too. Also a whole page of more casual offerings for dinner with sandwiches and salads. Very cozy atmosphere and large bar area. We'll definitely be back the next time we're visiting family!

Cannot stress enough how good this place is. Went for dinner on a Friday night. Appetizer combo platter was delicious. Calamari was top notch. Seafood jambalaya was served with a wheelbarrow load of shrimp and scallops. If you live or are visiting anywhere in the area, this place is a must.

Wonderful dinner in this little gem of a place in the middle of rural Wisconsin. Had the tenderloin kabobs and could not believe how incredible it was. Served with a huge encrusted portabello over mashed cheddar potatoes. To die for.

You have to stop at this little Italian bistro. In a town of 50 people it's amazing little secret.

Still love it! We were in town to visit family and made it a point to dine here again. The food once again was outstanding - from the focaccia bread served with herbed olive oil drizzled with rich balsamic vinegar to the dessert, which was an amazing bananas foster. Absolutely top-notch!

Great service and a nice break from the fried everything in this part of Wisconsin, family owned and very attentive to regulars. Try the Friday fish fry, the risotto, pulled pork & kimchee sandwich, or chicken pacatta

Excellent food and service. We had the prime rib, wild mushroom and Cabernet soup and wild rice. I was impressed by the hospitality, in depth knowledge of the food and wine pairing and of course the excellent cuisine. Easily comparable with any fine food American/Italian restaurant in the twin cities. We will certainly be back when ever we are in town.

As. Manufactures Representative and a foodie it is often hard to find innovation, atmosphere & upscale dinning ! Bistro 63 acomplishes it all. The wine list is more than acceptable, the Pasta Cabarnera was very tasty & with quality ingrediants! When I visit my factory with customers I will definatly bring hem here! John Bender is the chef- Great job. The only improvement I suggested is that they upgrade there wine glasses to accomodate thier Wineaux customers like me !

We have been traveling from Minneapolis to Hayward for over 25 years. Have stopped at easily 75% of the eating establishments along the way. This is by far the best. Great food and great service. Wine list is a little lacking, but hey, this is the north woods.

Wonderful! In a word that says what we just experienced at Bistro 63! Who would have guessed that such a great restaurant could exist in little Barronett, WI? Not much more than a wide spot in the road....this place houses one of the best restaurants in the Midwest. It was my wife's birthday and boy, did we celebrate with the restaurant's extras ...like having the evenings guests (Thursday evening and by 6:30pm the place was nearing full) sing "Happy Birthday" to my wife....followed at the end of the meal with a fabulous Bananas Foster including ice cream with a candle in the middle! Oh...I had a great brandy Alexander. My main course was the scallop linguine and tasty French onion soup....all seasoned just perfectly, and scallops done to perfection. Bev had duck breast with Parmesan risotto...cooked perfectly. With 2 drinks each, plus 2 after dinner drinks...the bill was pleasantly low....and service was great! Listen folks....this place is well-worth a trip from the Twin Cities....or just about anywhere else...!! Want wonderful food? Just find Barronett!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
