We found ourselves traveling through Ashland unexpectedly and were relieved that Kelly and Mark had a cancellation so that we were able to stay at the Second Wind. Upon arrival we were wowed by the beautiful vistas and animals on the property. Our room, Northern Lights, was spacious and tastefully decorated. The rooms were very clean. We enjoyed an evening fire pit campfire as we watched the sunset. Kelly's breakfast and smoothie were out of this world. We had to buy a mug as a remembrance of our peaceful stay. We were traveling due to a family tragedy that resulted in the death of my husband's twin and his wife. We are so thankful for the tender loving care provided at Second Wind and we hope to return someday.

Absolutely beautiful bed and breakfast. It snowed about three feet during our stay and we found ourselves stranded away from the inn. The owners saddled up a plow and came to our rescue. Phenomenal people running a quaint, yet luxurious place to do just what the name implies, catch a second wind.

Truly a "second wind" - this beautiful country inn was just what I needed to get away from it all and feel refreshed! Warm and friendly hosts - good food - spacious rooms (with heated tile bathroom floor) - great views - and a veritable menagerie of farm animals. I was delighted to see a question on the breakfast card -- "Would you like us to wake you if we see northern lights?" Now THAT is a sign of a great B&B!

We stayed in one of the lofts at Second Wind, using a Living Social deal for a total of four nights at the inn. There are some wonderful aspects to the inn, all of which have been mentioned on numerous reviews, including Kelly's incredible breakfasts and desserts, the beautiful country setting with very charming animals (we could not get enough of watching the donkeys and goats play), and our room was a spacious, charming and bright loft with great views. However, for personal reasons, we were very uncomfortable during our stay. The welcome letter has a paragraph that says "...we have found a life and a peace that can only come through a relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the source of our peace and we live to glorify Him. We would love to talk more about this should you have questions." Many of the books and magazines (probably 60-75%) in the inn and in our suite were Christian books, including some (e.g., a book on marriage by Dr. Laura Schlessinger) that we would consider very conservative. In addition, during breakfast one morning, one of our hosts introduced politics into the conversation, which I have learned is something one does not do among strangers. While we wholeheartedly support Mark and Kelly in creating a getaway that reflects and embodies their beliefs, we were surprised that there was nothing on their website that would indicate this, so that people who might be uncomfortable in this setting (e.g., for religious or political reasons) could make an informed consumer's choice before booking and paying for a room. We were so offput that we found we could not really relax; I did not sleep well during our stay. It was not the romantic, relaxing, get-away-from-it-all weekend that we were seeking, and if we had not prepaid for our room, we likely would have checked out early.

This was a great B and B and Mark and Kelly were very kind and welcoming. You were able to chose a breakfast time which really helped us to relax on the trip and enjoy our rest time. Kelly made unique and delicious breakfasts each day and always had great recommendations for daily activities and dinner spots. Thanks Kelly and Mark!
