Where do I begin? The last time I was here, (June 7, 2014) I ordered a deep fried walleye sandwich. I didn't think It was possible to screw up a deep fried dish fillet. I was wrong. Overcooked trash. The server asked us how "everything was?", It was so bad, I didn't even lie to him like I usually do with bad food. I told him I was very displeased. Didn't even ask for new food as I was fairly confident it would be sub-par. Lobster Bisque had absolutely no chunks of lobster or any seafood for that matter. It was also very salty. The only thing that was even close to edible was the appetizer. Crab Dip. Once again no meat. Nearly 100% cream cheese. For some reason my mother likes this place. This is the only reason I was subjected to this culinary abomination. Will never come back. Beautiful place, great location, disgusting food. And I mean, truly disgusting. This was my third and last time here. The final straw. I Can't believe a place with such tasteless, poorly cooked food is still open. If you are all about atmosphere and not good food, dine here. Waste your money in a different fashion. Burn it. It will be much more satisfying.

The building and location is an absolute gold mine; unfortunately the food does not live up whatsoever. It seems prepackaged and just microwaved. I question if anything on this menu is made from scratch. The pecan salad was an absolute joke having 5 short little strips of dry, plain, unseasoned chicken with some ground up pecans dropped loosely on top. This salad was $11.99! I expected MUCH more. The BLT was just okay. The tomato basil soup and french onion soups were actually good. I would say that next time we go there I'll just order the soup... but after many previous poor food quality experiences at this restaurant and its sister restaurants in Appleton (Good Company, Beefeaters) there will NOT be a next time. I could make any prepackaged meal from the grocery frozen food section and it would taste much better and cost far less.. We only went this last time to use up a gift certificate that we had received. Done!

Decent Food. Server seemed like she had been working there too long, not friendly and seemed pre-occupied. I don't think she smiled once. She asked what sides I wanted with dinner, and when my dad got the bill, we were up charged for them. She made it sound like it came with the meal. It's not the extra money, it's the principle. I study wine, and have worked in restaurants all my life---the bill was still well over a $100 for 4 people. I was home visiting my family for the first time this year, and it while my dad was understanding; it left a sour taste in my mouth of the place. Poor practices for someone who looked like a seasoned veteran.

It was okay, but on the pricey side. Serving sizes were small. It wasn't very busy, which should have told me something since since it was Airventure weekend. Go someplace else and get better food for less money.

My family ate at Pullman's on Sunday, we went at 4:30 to avoid the rush and to sit on the patio. We were placed at a table with no umbrella and when we requested some shade we were told that table was not available because it was being held for parties of 8. It was a round and oblong table placed together under an umbrella. No one was ever seated at the table while we were there. I took us 20 minutes to get our first drink order and we also ordered our meal at the same time. It then took at at least another 30 minutes for the meal. Other diners came and went while we waited. When one of our party ordered a rum and coke we were told it would take a while because the bar was busy. After 10 minutes we requested just a coke because of the wait time. The waitress was able to bring the coke immediately interestingly the rum and coke was delivered as we were about to leave. The food was good but portions are small for the price. They California Chicken sandwich is 9+ and it only had chicken breast on one side of the bread, the fries that were delivered were warm, not hot. I have eaten here on other occasions and have found the food to be good and the service ok. The food prices are a bit high, the drinks if you go to the bar cost less,(which they do not tell you) and you get service before table drinks are filled. The only saving grace was that it was a beautiful night and the weather was perfect.

I've enjoyed Pullman's every time I've been there. I had the perch dinner with the loaded mashed potatoes. So very good. My martini (something blue) was particularly delicious. Our waitress was very friendly.

My sister ordered some bruchetta and it had a petso sauce on it which looks like something I've bought at costco. I then ordered the caprese salad which had the same pesto sauce on it. I wasn't the only one in our group that was less than impressed with the food. Not only did the price seem unfair the food wasn't even remotely impressive beyond what you could get at a a low class dinner. We also had some slow service. I'm not sure if it was because the waitress was new, they were understaffed or if we were just a big table.

Great place to go. I love making the visit when I'm in town. Great food and solid prices for what you get.

Went here with my girlfriend recently, and was impressed with the food, but less so with some other small things. Service from the wonderful Abbey was impeccable, with a smiley, cheery demeanour and the skill of checking up to see that drinks were topped up and food tasted right at exactly the right moments, without being annoying - Something a lot of wait-staff really need to learn! The addition of a 'Thank You!' with her name on the receipt was a nice touch to show your gratuity was appreciated. I like when wait-staff personalise the service like this, instead of being 'fake nice' in order to secure a good tip. The food was great, and decently priced. The bad: We were seated outside, and while I understand the change of seasons to summer may bring about some bugs, dead bugs (and dead bug stains) littering the concrete outside is not pleasant. A quick hose-down each morning (including the tables and chairs) would work wonders. The cutlery I was supplied was not cleaned properly, and had dried leaf (lettuce) stuck to it. Most likely from being washed in an industrial washer without being properly rinsed first. The table was wobbly, as the plastic foot for one of the legs was broken off. It was nearby and I re-affixed it, but really, things like this should be checked when the tables are set up each morning. The table looked pretty worse for wear, and the shearing point showed it had been broken like this for some time. I witnessed another staff member watering hanging plants next to a table that had people sitting at it, with the water splashing all around the ground next to to the table. It didn't hit the people dining, but really? Is it not possible to do this when people aren't sitting a just two feet away? While I may be harsh, when people go out to nice places to eat, they don't go for a meal - that can be had at home. People go out to nice places to eat for an experience. With a couple of refinement improvements, this place will be a much more pleasant one.

Aka Trolley Square. Walk into the building to go back outside for patio seating overlooking the Fox river. The service is hit or miss. I only had myself a Woodchuck Amber Cider. Friends had the Bond cocktail and a Long Island. Super sweet beverages. There is only two fire pit tables. The other areas are currently for wedding occasions.

Lied and said their kitchen was open until 11, Turned us away when we got there at 10:15. No apology... Horrible service.

I guess the great location makes up for the bad food. Why, why, why Appleton can we not have both!? The food was weird (garlic bread on my onion soup and coleslaw on my Reuben?). Seemed like too many shortcuts on an already average menu selection...

The current chef is revamping the menu. Look for the nightly specials to see what they are up to, I find it to be improved and delicious. Awesome atmosphere. Location down by the locks during the summer provides for a relaxing setting.

Not recommended. The service was shotty at best. You know when your server has her hair all disheveled, no makeup on and talks like she is conversing with her best buds?? Doesn't make you feel confident in your service for the evening. (BTW, addressing a couple by "Guys" doesn't fly in a seemingly nice establishment like Pullmans) When the girl brought out the bread, there was no butter. Strike 1. When she brought our food (which took 34 minutes for two chicken entrees), the plates were stinkin hot, but our food was cold. Strike 2. My date asked for a beverage which she never brought out. Strike 3. The food quality was mediocre. I could have cooked it myself and it would been better. Your chicken marsala needs some help. Perhaps revisit the recipe, I think you're missing something.

My roommate's family visited us in Appleton yesterday (we're summer interns), and we were looking for a place to eat. Asked for recommendations from three people on the sidewalk - they were together, and all of them said "Pullman's" simultaneously without even looking at each other. So I guess that made me expect something way better. The food was pretty good, but I feel like my mom could make something more delicious. I had the Chicken Marsala - a new item on the menu. I was disappointed that it wasn't hot. Not even warm, really. It wasn't enough for me to ask them to reheat it since I've eaten many home-cooked, room-temp meals before... I'm used to it. Besides, they had a packed house that night. The dining room and the outdoor seating was pretty full. (I guess I'm pretty forgiving?) The flavors made up for it. The portobello mushrooms were good, and so were both of my chicken breasts. They were fairly tender but not juicy. I was just happy it wasn't dry. My roomie and the three others with us really liked their food though - Bruschetta Chicken and Tenderloin. I enjoyed their desserts (we got the Tuxedo and the chocolate cheesecake) more than my entree. The sugar snap peas I got on the side were yummy too, nice and crisp.

Over priced food and sub-par service. My last visit to Pullman's was nothing short of a disaster. As a result the manager gave me a gift card for my next visit. We were greeted by our waiter that seemed to be more interested in getting done with his shift than getting his tables served. I ordered an old fashioned, and the other person at my table ordered a beer. My old fashioned was obviously made from a premix bottle. The soda was flat as well. We started with the Asiago Dip with Pita Strips. The dip was fantastic, one of my favorites. However, the pita strips that were served with it were bad. Half of them were soaked in grease and very chewy. The other half was burned to the point that they crumbled when I tried to dip them. For dinner, I ordered the Surf 'n Turf and a bowl of Lobster Bisque. A 10 ounce tenderloin ordered Medium, with "stretched and Thai'd" shrimp and fries. The Lobster Bisque was fantastic. Very flavorful and full of lobster pieces, real lobster pieces. The seasoned fries were very good. Well seasoned and crunchy. The shrimp were fantastic and the dipping sauce (the Thai part of the dish) has quite a punch! The steak, unfortunately, fell short. It was cooked perfect, but served cold. There really wasn't much flavor either. It was served with a cup of...something. The waiter couldn't tell me what it was either. I asked, and all he could say was, "I don't know, maybe a sauce for your steak?" I thought maybe it was aujus, but it too, had no flavor. Throughout our entire meal, the waiter never stopped back to check on things. I would have asked for a bottle of steak sauce to help with the steak. After serving our meal, then next time we saw our waiter was when he brought the bill. He did ask how things were, and I told him it was just OK. He asked about deserts, which we declined. I did find it odd that he had our check printed up already, as if he expected us to say no. As we left our table and walked past the hostess station toward the exit, three hostesses were standing there glued to their cell phones. Not one of them looked up to say "thank you" or "have a good night". I thought, for the price of our dinner, we would have been made to feel more like a guest, rather than an inconvenience.

The patio is great, right on the water, but they allow smoking out there, just something to be aware of. Service was slow, but that was kind of what we were looking for, so maybe it was one of those crazy like a fox sort of things from our server. Food was very good- perch plate was very good, fries are seasoned. The jumbo shrimp were excellent, and the crab was outstanding. Don't bother with the bread- it isn't heated and is kinda crappy. It is sourdough, too, fyi.

Great atmosphere and fairly decent beer selection - after that, I'm afreaid it's downhill. The owners of this establishment really think that image is everything and although it is important to the dining experience, having some substance is equally if not more important. Their waitstaff on several visits were poorly trained and did not know their menu items. Food is generic and predictable - Honestly I wouldn't recommend.

Over-priced food with under-tasted dish. If a restaurant with an extensive bar establishment could only offer me a Miller 64 bottle when I asked for a light (in taste) beer, I should have just driven to a fast-food restaurant and pick up a 6-pack on the way home. I ordered a Mahi tuna for meal but my tuna overcooked. The view was very beautiful, but the dining experience didn't justify it. Sorry.

I ate at Pullman's as part of a group event. I was pleased to see their gluten-free menu which, while not creative, was sufficient. Items included steak, fish, bunless burgers, grilled chicken. I ordered the petite tenderloin with steamed broccoli and found it nicely done and tasty. The restaurant is in Trolley Square, which means it's served by the Downtown Cool Trolley. It runs every 20 minutes 6 days/week (no Sundays), is free, and is lots of fun to ride. There's also a huge parking lot and seating on the patio by the Fox River as well as indoor seating. Service was great and I was pleased to see actual new development alongside the ever-less-scary Fox River.

We went with a group of 6 people for dinner on a Friday night. The place has a very nice view of the river with outdoor seating as an option. Other than that, everything else about this place needs to be improved. There are too many great restaurants in the valley that will give you better service and food for your dollar. Our night began by registering with Lana, the hostess and the manager of the restaurant. She gave us a buzzer to alert us when our table would be ready. After 45 minutes, I returned to Lana and asked her how much longer our wait would be. She asked for my name and she was not able to locate my name on her list. I pointed out to her where my name had been written down on the paper. It was apparent that the paper with my name had been thrown away in the garbage. Not good, especially if you are overseeing the restaurant and you are the hostess and manager as Lana said she was. At this point, Lana put our name back on the list and she told us she would buzz us as soon as possible. Everyone in our group was willing to stick around. When our buzzer went off our group proceeded to the hostess. We were told they had a table for 2 people not 6. I explained that when we originally registered we registered for 6 not 2 people. We were told at this point it would be another 10 minutes before we could be seated. After what we had been through we were never offered an apology. I asked Lana if she would be willing to give us a complimentary drink as we continued to wait. She said it wasn't her fault and she refused to give us any complimentary drinks. At this point we decided to leave and never return to this establishment due to their decision to treat us the way they did. What is unfortunate is we know who the owners are and can't believe they would allow something like this to happen. Hopefully This behavior will not carry over to their other restaurants, Good Company and Beef Eaters.

Local chain with nothing special to it. The location is nice and the building is nice space but the food is just OK. Everything is very heavy even the pasta dishes.

You'd be crazy to complain about this place. Its a decent addition to the choices of brewery restaurants in the Appleotn area. I enjoyed the beer selection, views, spaciousness, comfortable decor, fish and sticks, bruschetta, asiago marinara dip, and a variety of main courses. The staff is friendly, its free and easy parking, and compared to what I'm used to paying in many other cities --- its a bargain.

I was about ready to give this place 4 stars, but a few things detracted from my dining experience. 1st: I asked my server what was on tap - she listed a number of out-of-state brews, but when I asked about "anything local" she neglected to mention SPOTTED COW! I've had the cow in WI before, and it's my favorite beer of Wisconsin. Instead the only beer she remembered was an irish stout, which was ok, but was no spotted cow. I found out about their cow after waltzing past the bar taps. Ok, that's strike 1. Strike 2 was my 2nd beer: spotted cow. It had a soapy flavor. I had to send it back. My replacement spotted cow tasted great. Strike 3 was my dinner order. I ordered the west coast burger but asked to have tanglers on it (shredded fried onions). The west coast burger's guac was just a green hue instead of a layer, and there were no tanglers. Other than these 3 strikes, the restaurant was a pleasant experience. Nice venue and atmosphere.

I was really kind of disappointed in our visit to Pullman's. The establishment is nice, and there's a gorgeous patio/garden area. Looks like it would be a nice place for a banquet/wedding/event with the private rooms they've got. As for the food - it was just .... meh. I ordered the "new reuben", and read the description a couple times to verify there was NO mention of cheese (I'm kind of odd and ALWAYS order my reubens with NO SWISS CHEESE - sorry, I just don't like cheese that smells like feet covered in paint). When I didn't see a mention of cheese, I assumed it wasn't on the sandwich. Afterall, it was a "new" reuben. Meaning, they pretty much changed the sandwich in it's entirety (ie: different meat (turkey and ham instead of corned beef), different garnish (cole slaw instead of kraut). So I figured NO CHEESE was just another difference. Boy was I mistaken! Thankfully I was able to pick off BOTH pieces that were located on the TOP and BOTTOM of the sandwich. And really, the sandwich was just okay. My daughter ordered the kids cheeseburgers, which she said tasted weird and she didn't like. My son got the kids chicken tenders, which he seemed to enjoy okay. My husband ordered the bbq bacon cheeseburger which he said was good, but he was not given an option of how he wanted it cooked, so he said it was too well done for his liking, and a bit too dry. Overall, just an okay experience.

Location is great and if you're looking for a place that's family-friendly where you can sit on the patio and listen to the water, Pullman's is a good choice. Highlights: giant kids' menu, plenty of outdoor seating. Lowlights: kitchen is SLOW. Each time we have gone in it's been weekend, lunch. Each time it has taken about an hour for our table to be served.

Down by the locks, basking in the sun in the outdoor seating you too can enjoy your very own bowl of lobster bisque. Trying to go a "lighter way" in my fare selection this Sunday afternoon, I think I made a mistake--oops. The lobster bisque is good, but not great, the outdoor seating with a view of the locks, however spectacular, has the unavoidable eye sore of the freeway passing overhead. Have a bloody mary or two and you'll barely notice the concrete monster.

Our service was a little slow, but our waitress was doing her best & she maintained a polite, friendly demeanor throughout. Their menu is huge, great selection. The drink list was fun, too. On nice days they have an outdoor seating area right near one of the locks of the Fox River. The place was beautiful inside & out. I only had a grilled chicken salad, but it was great. My boyfriend had a burger & an appetizer ("crabsquetta," which I wasn't a big fan of, but I don't like a lot of seafood.) and he loved both. I'd go there again... in fact, I'm thinking of going there tonight ;)

I have to say I was a bit leery of hosting our 25 wedding anniversary (25 people) after speaking with the manager over the phone. He wasn't giving me a warm and fuzzy feeling or offering suggestions. But we really wanted the atmosphere of the back patio/waterfall setting. We're we surprised! They were very accommodating with our beer and pizza theme and our waitress (Aliyah) was exceptional... the beer was cold and the pizza was delicious (Pizzalad was a hit). My only complaint all night was the waterfall wasn't running which was a little disappointing but not a big deal...

My family and I have eaten here several times. My 89 yr. old Mom loves it! The food is always good and the waitstaff is friendly, patient and well trained. They need to be when dealing with a party of 14, who all want separate checks. The food is along the lines of a Chili's or TGI Friday's. The restaurant itself is very wheelchair accessible.

Cool little joint out in the middle of downtown Neenah. Scenary is really beautiful, being thats its right by a river, the fox river, and the restaurant is in Trolley Square. The building is really cool, with old memorobilia about the trolley's. So we ended up eating here, and service was really good as well as the food. I ate a garlic spicy shrimp pasta that was really spicy and really good. Sauce was good, a good amount of shrimp, with lenguine noodles..very good. Tried the Tiramisu, and oh man, was it good...MMMMmm.. You got to try it if you are ever in the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin.

The location is great, plenty of parking. The food menu is decent, a large variety. Wait outside and you can hop on the trolley to head down to college ave, which is an added perk. The outdoor seating arrangement is pretty nice. There are a select number of seats with fire pits next to them. Drinks are an OK value considering the view of the fox and the overall atmosphere. The place does have a large chain feeling to it...even though I think this is the only restaurant with the Pullmans name around. The place is quite large, maybe that has to do with why it feels like a large chain restaurant. Food is good. There really is not anything on the menu that screams at you to try, rather a large assortment of sandwiches and fish. I think the location, atmosphere, and level of service are what keeps me coming back.

Our first time here. Although our service started out a little on the bumpy side given the waitress said it was her first time serving by herself, it was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, atmosphere was pleasant. Still was waiting to see some lobster in the lobster bisque soup which the waitress served with the meal instead of before, but I was polite with her being her first time. Portions were more than expected. I had the perch platter and it had 5 pieces on it along with the very large baked potato. My wife had the chicken cordon blu and it was very delicious and like with the perch was more than enough. Would definitely recommend it and will return. Map on yelp has location northwest of actual location.

This establishment is located inside a gorgeous building in Appleton, WI. It's obvious they spent a lot of money creating a comfortable, soothing atmosphere, right on the Fox River. It's a damn shame they didn't put the same effort into their food. We were disappointed, to say the least. On Tuesday, August 12, 2014, around 6:00 pm, we met 2 friends there for dinner. Hadn't seen them in a year because we live in SC (tho we're from the Valley) and were in the area for our annual vacation. Drinks were ok, then it pretty much went downhill from there. Service from the kitchen was slow. Took too long to get my lobster bisque soup. Waiter apologized and said "some items take time". Huh? It's soup, already made...just heat it up. The soup tasted just ok. My husband had the New York strip. Not a good cut of meat which tasted like they overly seasoned it to compensate. And boxed mashed potatoes, or at least that's exactly what it tasted like. Awful. Really, Pullman's, BOXED?? Go to your room. My entree was shrimp alfredo. It was so bad I don't know where to start. Very manufactured tasting. Pretty sure they must have gotten this from Chef-Boy-R-Alfredo. It was just terrible. And where were the shrimp? Not even a shrimp scrap. I didn't send it back because at this point, everyone's food was lousy so I had no right to expect something tasty from that kitchen. I boxed what I didn't eat then tossed it in the garbage. One of our friends ordered lobster ravioli. Again, really bad. Main problem here was the doughy-pasty ravioli shells. I don't know if he finished it or not, but he sure had issues with it. Forgot to mention that the shrimp in my shrimp cocktail was on the tough side. Overcooked. Oh, I got a $1 credit because it was pasta Tuesday. Yay! Now where's the pasta? A friend of mine recommended Pullman's and when I gave her the report afterwards, she was embarrassed and apologetic. Felt terrible. So in wrapping up, PULLMAN'S, step up your game. Get a (talented) chef and fine-tune your wait staff. You have a gorgeous, stunning venue and people will come in because of it...one time. I'll check back with friends later to see if you've made improvements. If not, you may consider us one of those one-time customers.

I'd go there again... in fact, I'm thinking of going there tonight ;)

My sister's hyped this place up, saying they heard great things about it. The location is very nice. Our server was helpful and attentive. The food was only okay. I ordered fried fish and there was nothing special to it. Nothing special to the sauce I dipped it in too. I also ordered a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer, it tasted better than my fish. The only thing I didn't like was that one slice had nothing in it. Okay, so it wasn't entirely nothing. It did contain at least one chunk of chicken and a little cheese. I also tried the potstickers, nothing special there. I've had better at Chinese buffets. The mixed drink I got was not very tasty either. Overall the food and drinks here didn't match all the great things people were saying. I might have had a different opinion if I didn't hear how great it was before going.

Sorry.

Good food. Really unique and pretty. Trolley car in lobby gives a nice touch. Must be beautiful in the summer being right on the water. Waitress was attentive. Just a really nice place to enjoy a nice meals. Menu has large selection and good choices. The steak was perfect and tasty.

I guess the great location makes up for the bad food. Why, why, why Appleton can we not have both!? The food was weird (garlic bread on my onion soup and coleslaw on my Reuben?). Seemed like too many shortcuts on an already average menu selection...

The current chef is revamping the menu. Look for the nightly specials to see what they are up to, I find it to be improved and delicious. Awesome atmosphere. Location down by the locks during the summer provides for a relaxing setting.
