Very good value. Great steak included the soup soup and salad bar. Northwood atmosphere. Efficient and friendly staff. Half price on quality bottle of wine. Can't beat it around here.

Great food and great value for the 34 years we've been coming up to the cabin! Even when under new ownership, this place remains our favorite!

Place is now called "Swartzendruber's". Dining here was somewhat surreal, as there where only 2 couples in the dining room when I arrived. Shortly thereafter, I was left alone in the dining room for the rest of the evening. All meals come with the salad bar (minuscule) and soup bar (three crocks on a table). I had the potato soup which was pretty good. I expected to order some good German food, well at least a weiner schnitzel. To my surprise this "German" supper club only serves a limited German menu on Thursday nights. The rest of the menu looked good, but given the EMPTY place, I was skeptical on the freshness and overall quality of the food. Maybe watching too many "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" have scared me for life. I had the full slab of ribs, which actually arrived on my plate as three 3-4 rib "slabs". Not sure how that adds up for a full slab, but the overly rich sauce and meaty ribs got me full real quick; I ended up not finishing the portion. For a side, I had the twice backed, which when served on a plate looked like a joke, Basically two perfectly round scoops of potato on a rock hard half shell potato skin. I imagine they make these sometime early in the week and nuke em throughout the week. I had a few bites and quickly stopped. Unfortunately not too many dining options in town and maybe their menu has good food, but the place was empty while the mediocre Refuge had quite a few cars in the lot. The Mexican joint in town also had a few cars in the lot.

Horrible! Mother's Day brunch started at 10 am. We had 10:30 reservations. Foolishly, I thought if a place said they had brunch, there might be some sort of breakfast food. No! The salad bar was the best part and it contained ice berg lettuce, red onion, dried whitish carrots, cucumbers, peas, Bacos sunflower seeds. It did have fancy crouton bread. The buffet was vegetables cooked in a white sauce (I couldn't identify the type of veg as it was super creamed), mashed potatoes, fried chicken, amazing salty stuffing, and ham that was floating in water!!! What is this madness. Then , the 'carving station': the gentleman carving what I thought was a ham (shaped like a ham and under the dark red heat lamps, colored like a ham) turned out it was pressed turkey meat product. Not a breast, pressed dark and light meat. The other meat was rare roast beef. There were also shrimp at the end, the kind you peel yourself. The desserts were on a separate table, plated on styrofoam. There was a runny brown thing that may have been cobbler with now bottom, pound cake with add your own strawberries and non-dairy whipped topping, and pumpkin pie. The most interesting thing was this bright white squishy bar with blueberry swirl on tip and graham cracker bottom. I couldn't tell if the white part was supposed to be cheesecake or meringue or what. The crust was good. So $15 for a crust and an iceberg salad. In summary, Brunch is a combo of Breakfast and Lunch to most people, but not here!

Swarzendruber's. Interesting name eh? My wife and I were traveling here with my mother and sister for my mom's family reunion. She was born here in Antigo some 85 years ago. So we spent the past several days "seeing the sights". Today we attended the family reunion at the Neva Town Hall. I have to say, the food was plentyfull and home made. Good 'ol comfort food. Spectacular actually, and we had a great time. So, please keep that in mind while readng my review of Swartzendruber's Supper Club. We arrived at perhaps 6pm on a Saturday night. The place was busy but not full. (how-ever several more families came in) We were immedtately greeted by the gentleman behind the bar and promptly seated and a nice table. I stolled over to the "beer wall" to select of couple bottles for my wife and I. The selection is large, one of the best I've seen here in Wisconsin. Sis had a Bloody Mary, it was huge and she enjoyed it. Mom and I ordered up the Prime Rib, her's being the 12 oz. and mine the "medium" 16 oz. (medium size appears to mean HUGE) Sis had the Porterhouse steak and my wife ordered up the broiled walleye. Food came in good time and was prepared perfectly as ordered. And it was all very tasty. Our waitress was great. Cute local girl that gave us flawless/transparent service. Very pleased. So again, reflecting off the food and atmosphere at the family reunion, I can only give this place a "Yay! I'm a fan" otherwise it may have been "Woohoo! As good as it gets". Hope you enjoy as well.....

This place is nice. A real supper club atmosphere. The owner makes sure we are noticed when we first walk in, at the bar, and when our drinks were empty, they are majically refilled. :) He notices people and remembers them. He remembers my mother coming in there with us like a year and a half ago, and she's even from a different town. The food is really good 80% of the time, and the prices are decent as well. The customer service is exceptional! Go Leffel's!!

We went to Swartzendruber's for Mother's Day Brunch. To me the word "brunch" implies the availability of some typical breakfast foods with the addition of some non-typical breakfast foods. (Perhaps pancakes and eggs and bacon but also ham or chicken - you get the drift.) We had reservations for 10:30 am. The Brunch Buffet consisted of their normal salad bar - they have wonderful blue cheese dressing, but nothing low-cal, not even cruets of oil and vinegar visible. They used to have homemade liver pate on the salad bar, but this time it was just braunschweiger spread - like the pink stuff you get in a tube from the grocery store lunch meat shelf. Main course was: fried chicken, hunks of ham floating in some liquid, mashed potatoes, gravy, a vegetable combo of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots in a thick cream sauce - it was very "gloppy", stuffing, cranberry sauce, turkey that was the pressed kind so each slice had some light and some dark - it was very salty, peel and eat shrimp, prime rib type beef slices that were the color of the ham. I was disappointed on so many levels. Most of the food seems to be pre-prepared and warmed up. There was nothing that you could choose that was a little on the low-cal side unless you had a lettuce salad with no dressing. Oh and about half the bin of the carrots on the salad bar were dried out - had a little white showing. Better to have the carrots floating in water and let the ham be on a platter. There was a dessert table with an assortment of pies and something that may have been apple crisp plopped on a plate. There was a big container of cool whip or some type of pretend whipped cream and a big bowl of thawed or canned strawberries in sauce to use on slices of pound cake. We were there with my daughter and granddaughter and our husbands. So 4 adults, one child. Thankfully they did not charge the 4 year old. The moms got a carnation - lovely gesture although my daughter's was starting to wither and mold. I have eaten here numerous times partly because it's one of two "nice" places to eat in Antigo. The food has ranged from wonderful to not so good. There have been a bunch of owners in the last 20 years but it has always had a similar menu. The people who work here are super friendly and nice. But this brunch fiasco was the last straw for me. (None the less, I overheard at least two people in the restaurant who were raving about the wonderful food. IT WASN'T BRUNCH!!) I'll go to Country Kitchen's brunch or Great Dane in Wausau next Mother's Day!
