Great little place in Algoma! Actually has seating for quite a few ! 4 of us had drinks, 2 appetizers and 4 lunches for under $75!!! They were slightly understaffed in the kitchen so it took as while to get our lunch but it was well worth the wait. Try their wings and their cheese curds! You won't be sorry you picked this place-- whether it's for a drink or 2 or lunch or both, you found a great place to support!! Don't understand why yelp reviews aren't better!!?

This place sucks! I have give it multiple attempts and the service is always terrible! Everyone working here hates there life and it's apparent! Food is very mediocre!

Decent bar. Neat layout, game room, overall appearance. DO NOT EAT HERE! Service is outrageous, slow is an understatement, food is mediocre at best. Walked in at 645 and sat quickly (of course it's empty), took 5 min to get menu, 5 more to order drinks, 15 min drinks to show up(not all drinks either), we ordered when final drinks arrived. The food took 40 minutes(wings, burger, chicken wrap an nachos) 1 hr and 20 min to get typical bar food(in a nearly empty seating section). Ordered 2nd round of drinks before the food arrived and was completely forgotten (as in they never arrived? ). Whoever owns or manages this place has a great bar but is missing out in a big way. I will never go back.

Worst experience ever at a bar/food place. Food came out about an hour after ordering... We ordered the perch with onion rings (came out with fries...), cheese curds, and 1/2 order wings. At any other place this would take 20 minutes max to get out but here expect to wait at least an hour. I had ordered one drink and then asked for another but it never came. BUT it was on the bill... the place was not busy at all. I waited tables for years and would have been able to take care of the whole place. There were two waiters on staff. I do not blame our waitress though, I blame the bartenders who looked lazy. At any other place I've been to the bartender makes all the drinks for the waitresses... Here the poor girl is making all the drinks and running food, and the bartenders are just sitting there chatting away doing nothing. Can say I will never come back to the place unless it is just for drinks and I can go straight to the bar (pending if bartenders will actually do their job). It's sad because the bar is actually nice inside, if they switched management and expectations maybe it would change and be a good bar? Who knows...

Stick with the good beer on Tap and the free popcorn. Food is overpriced and greasy. Our family has a good variety of the menu items and the disappointment with the food was unanimous.

A nice place for a quality meal. We came here because we had a pluming issue and wasn't able to use the kitchen. Why no other place in Algoma was open I don't know, but it brought us here and it was all good. Nice décor, friendly bartender. I ordered the Steelhead signature pizza, my wife ordered the honey BBQ chicken wrap. Our food was up in a reasonable amount of time. Don't understand the reviews about slow service. Must have been summer tourist season. The pizza was a home run in my book, and I'm a pizza snob. The crust was light and crispy, a little light on the sauce and heavy to toppings. It was cooked to perfection. My wife was pleased with the chicken wrap. We both had to take a box with the generous portions we got. I was impressed with the entire menu. There are bars with grills, this is a grill with a bar. My biggest thrill came when I found out they deliver. We'll be back for sure or they will be delivering to me. Either way this will not be the last time we enjoy their food.

Slowest and most careless service ever! We walked in and there was no one to seat us and it was very confusing. The waitor didnt seem to know what he was doing. A waitress was preparing food with her bare hands while also playing with her hair. After ordering, we waited for 30 minutes for our food. The waitor came back and asked if we would like to order anything else while we wait for our food. He told us that our food would be out in 5 minutes, so we decided to wait. He came back 10 minutes after that and told us that we would have to wait another 15 minutes. After wasting an hour waiting for our food, we decided to just leave. When we were about to leave, our waitor told us that he would bring us the check for our drinks even though we only had water. This was the worst experience and I will never come back.

We came here for a drink and sat at the bar. The place was very dead for a Friday night in the summertime. The bartenders were nice. We enjoyed looking around at the random/odd decor and people watching. We order the stuffed portobello mushrooms and they were delish! Filled with garlic, bacon, Italian sausage and a mixed cheese blend. My boyfriend said the tap beer selection was a bit weak.

It's a bar with bar food...I ate 15k calories in a matter of minutes but that's my fault not theirs. I'll go back, I always do...

I was in Algoma visiting family from Portland, OR and was looking for a nice place to eat lunch before the rest of the family rolled into town. I was pleasantly surprised by the neat Northwoods decor coupled with a slight warehouse feel. The food is pure Wisconsin. I had a brat with sauerkraut and a few Millers. The food was great and the beer was cold. The staff was attentive (despite complaining about how the menu want current), and made sure I was well hydrated. In a small town like Algoma it was really nice to see such a well kept establishment that offered a comfortable setting for anyone.

Can't say I've ever eaten here, but I usually end up drinking at Steelhead when I'm in town. And I often end up running into a relative. Friendly bartenders, reasonable prices, decent draft beer selection (Leinie's Summer Shandy right now...mmm). There is plenty of space, a jukebox, pool table, dart board. And it's actually well-lit and clean. With all the wood it has sort of a lodge-like feel, but still managers to be more modern than the other bars in town.

My husband and I came here when they were pretty new still- and we had the worst experience ever- we waited for 1 1/2 hours for our food. His ribs were burnt and I got the wrong food. Long story short- we asked to be compensated for our food and complained to the manager. So we decided to try again. We walked in and asked the bartender if we could seat ourselves- he said yea so we did- no waitress in sight. We sat down and waited maybe 5 minutes and she gave us menus and took our drink orders. Then we waited 10 minutes for her to come back. Then she brought our food ( we both had a sandwich...shouldn't take long right?) it was 18 minutes. (yes we timed it- especially after last time.) which was ok- especially since there was a table of 7 who had ordered before us. But- overall not impressed. Food was ok. But service was lacking and it was still slow. Probably because there was only one waitress working in the whole restaurant. Still- she took a long time for everything. I don't know if we'll be back.

Love this place. I live in Chicago but visit Algoma regularly. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is fun. The appetizers are good and there is an air hockey table. The place gets busy on the weekend with the all you eat crab and prime rib but it's worth it. Special shout out to (Dustin and Mandy).

    * My husband and I loved Algoma when we rode through a few months ago so we made a weekend of it (June 29, 2012) and stayed at he Algoma Beach Motel (LOVED that place) and tried to eat at Steelhead. What a joke. The place had about 4 people at the bar drinking and a few other tables of 2 and one party of 6. It took 15 minutes for a waitress to come over, even though 2 others saw me desperately trying to make eye contact. They'd just look away and pretend not to see us. We finally got a server and I actually ordered TWO PBR's because at the glacial pace of service I figured I'd save myself the hassle of a wait for a second beer. My husband ordered a tap of Blue Moon. I got one PBR about 15 minutes later, he never got his Blue Moon. I went to the bar TWICE but was completely ignored by the female bartender. I finally had to loudly say "Excuse me?!" before she would even look in my direction. It was funny that 3 people sitting at the bar mumbled "good luck" to me under their breath. We order buffalo wings and burgers. We wanted the all-you-can-eat crab legs but knew instantly we'd never see more than one serving so begrudgingly got burgers. Our food took forever. My husband's a Chef and I was server all through college (albeit 20 years ago) so this level of pathetic service and food wait was just a joke to us. So she brought the wings WITH our burgers (even though we ordered them as an appetizer). The burgers were awful. THIN, and both our buns were soaked through with grease -- my patty was cut in half and falling off the bun. I said what the heck and my husband said that poor cooks cut it to check how far along it is but they usually try to make inconspicuous). They have a "fixing station" where you can dress up your burgers with condiments. But every single thing was in packets. No ketchup bottles or mustard bottles. Mayo...everything in packets. So annoying. Our server never brought my husband's beer, or my second beer and she never once checked back on us during our meal. Another 10 minutes trying to flag her down for the check and we couldn't wait to leave. I never saw so much effort put into NOT having to wait on your customers. Again, let me reiterate that there were about 10 customers here. I'm a firm believer that you deserve what you pay for. No one offered us free food so when I get that kind of awful service and awful food, I have to tell people about it. I'm disgusted with that place. I left a note on the receipt that said "You seem like a nice girl but nothing you did for us constituted any kind of tip. The food was way below par but the real insult was your service, or lack thereof." In fact, I'd have complained to the manager but to no surprise to us at all by this point, she was clearly intoxicated. One thing was clear and that was were in good company. 2 other tables of 2 near ours were expressing the exact same disgust and frustration and we commiserated with each other silently across the room with our eye-rolls and "what the hell" shoulder-shrugs. No one was happy that day.

So disappointing! VERY SLOW waitstaff. Poor quality food (including low grade/cheap cheese, ketchup is HFCS and corn syrup with only tomato flavoring). A number of the items on the menu are no longer available. They said they are switching up their menu, but in the meantime, they haven't crossed anything out or changed their online menu. When in Algoma again, I will stick with Caffé Tlazo. Algoma really needs a quality restaurant.

We decided to drive to Algoma for the day and try this place out for dinner. The SLOWEST service I've ever experienced. We sat at a table and it took us 20 minutes to get a beer and place our order. The waitress was not very pleasant and didn't seem to know what she was doing. After waiting for our food for 30 minutes the waitress informed us that they were out of the all-you-can-eat fish special - it was 7pm on a FRIDAY and it was the daily special they had advertised all over the restaurant. How are you out of the special at 7pm? It wasn't like the place was packed, there were probably 10 people at the bar (including the manager knocking a few back) and 5 tables for food. We had to RE-ORDER and after sitting for another hour we decided to just leave because the waitress never came back to get us more drinks or check on us or anything. Three other tables of customers did the same thing after waiting forever too. The manager was very unpleasant when we explained the situation and seemed to not understand why we were upset with the service. I'll never return to this restaurant. I hope other places in Algoma aren't this unfriendly because it really was a neat town that I'd like to visit again.

One of the high points of every trip to Algoma. We love the Steelhead, great food, excellent staff and awesome decor. This is one of the best Pub/Eateries in Wisconsin. Their new expanded menu is awesome, as is Becky the Bartender!
