Wow! So delicious. One of the best desserts out there. Much better then the normal soft serve ice cream that is out there. The custard has a very rich and creamy texture. My favorite is the Royal Turtle that adds in candied pecans and fudge plus caramel.

I read about this place in a magazine, rated as one of the best 'ice cream' joints. Something about them being on the east coast but I google anyway and low and behold.. there is one on Mill Plain in Vancouver. Yeah, it's a long drive from PDX west hills for ice cream but let me say.. their strawberry shortcake sundae is wonnnderful. Their homemade shortcake biscuit, strawberries, dip of their frozen yogurt (which is great) and whipped cream. Go

I prefer frozen custard to soft serve ice cream and frozen yogurt 1000x over. Sheridan's custard is totally worth the trek across the state line from Portland. The vanilla custard is just fantastic. It is fine plain, or with any number of toppings. The chocolate custard is also tasty, but not as good as the vanilla. There are a trillion options like sundaes and shakes, etc, but the custard really does speak for itself. Service is quick and friendly, and there is a punch card for earning free custard. Parking is ample, and there is bench seating perfect for warm summer nights. The prices are a bit on the high side, but then again, where can you find this kind of custard around here?!

So good! Some of the best frozen custard I've ever had. I recommend a concrete with cheesecake!

  • William H.

Hmm. I do have a sweet tooth, but their custard is too sweet, especially the grasshopper. And I am pretty sure they over charged me for my mocha almond concrete. The texture and taste seemed more like icy frozen yogurt than smooth thick custard. I did like the fact they had honey roasted almonds.

  • Todd C.

Still amazing what else can I say but Yelp wanted an update. Try their anniversary concrete with sprinkles! They are for winners and losers.

Regardless if the weather is cold or rainy ... or colder and rainier ... I can't resist smooth, rich, and dreamy Frozen Custard. On a recent cold night when the temperatures dipped below freezing, I found myself wanting an even colder dessert because, like Elsa, the cold never bothered me anyway. Well, ok, it bothered me a little while standing in the wind at Sheridan's Frozen Custard walk-up window trying to decide what to order. So, of course, I did what any sane person would do ... I got back in my car and went through the drive-thru. Whoever, invented drive-thru frozen custard deserves a raise. I went with a "Create Your Own Concrete for $5.39 with Vanilla Custard blended with toppings. The first topping is free and then additional toppings are $0.95 each. Cool toppings for my concrete on this cold day were Chocolate Syrup, Peanut Butter, and Peanut Butter Cups. It was frozen magic that would of even impressed Olaf and Kristoff. Four frozen stars for Sheridan's Frozen Custard.

Sheridan's holds the distinction of being the ONLY eatery we've visited three nights in a row. Sheridan's custard is simply superb. Sikly-smooth texture, brilliant flavor, and a huge selection of menu items all add up to an excellent experience. House-made waffle cones are super crispy and flavorful, too. There is no dining room: you order from the window, and grab one of the three outside benches if they're not already occupied. Alternately, you can go back to your car and eat it there. While a dining room would be great, the quality of the custard is good enough that you won't mind eating it in the car.

I have never had frozen custard before so I was very eager to try. The girls working there were very polite with good service. The taste was good, more thicker then frozen yogurt but software then ice cream. It melts pretty fast too. We order a cup topped with strawberry and chocolate , on the menu it states fresh, but it seems frozen to me. We enjoyed it. For a small cup, it was 6.55 with tax. It is a bit expensive .

Got the mocha almond concrete and it was awesome! Can't wait to try it again. Absolutely would go back. Not super sweet. Got the regular which was enough for me.

The serves is just fine but that flavor is amazing!!! I always get plain chocolate in a cup nothing else. Because it's so good! But recently I tried concert with banana and I couldn't believe how amazing it was. I'm a sucker for any one who can combined those flavors well I think most other places tend to have banana over power the mix. Or it doesn't taste like either but here they nailed it. Probably because that Chocolate custard base is so amazing!!! The vanilla is on point as well. Creamy cold and deliciousness! I defiantly definitely recommend it!

  • Amy L.

Having tried here and other fast food chains for ice-cream I'd say this is average. I had the mini buck-a-roo. Berries and bananas taste decent and somewhat fresh. What really fails for me is the custard. There wasn't a strong vanilla or eggy flavor at all for the custard. The most enjoyable part was the fruit flavoring the custard. Overall I wouldn't drive out of my way for this place.

  • Jamie C.

I've been here way too many times to count. Grant's grasshopper is my favorite but they are all delicious. It's pretty expensive and that's really my only complaint. The staff is always very courteous and diligent about making a good treat.

  • Minnie M.

I've always wanted to try this place, and finally got to today and yep it's a good choice. I got the mini chocolate concrete with oreos and boy, even that was a lot for me. SUPER creamy and it's veryyy sweet and filling. I'm glad I didn't eat dinner beforehand. Next time I want to add more toppings- it's def worth the extra calories :D

I feel that, unlike many of my fellow NW natives, I am more of a custard expert than most having grown up on St. Louis's own Ted Drewe's - even the owners of Sheridan's can appreciate the mark Ted Drewe's has made on the frozen custard community. Having said that, Sheridans is AMAZING! When my husband and I first drove over from Portland to try out the local custard we were skeptical and not expecting it to measure up to Ted Drewes BUT we were ever WRONG! The concretes are always the way to go with frozen custard. I like to make my own with mixing different cookie ingrediants, and I ALWAYS go with vanilla custard. I am so happy there is such a wonderful frozen custard place so close to home! Thank you Sheridans family for opening in the NW and bringing us this amazing treat! PS - the staff is very friendly and the stand is clean. (wear a jacket in cold weather)

This frozen custard is out of this world yummy! When I introduced this place to my sister and brother-in-law they were hooked. The only bad part is if you've had bariatric surgery this might not be the place for you :-( I was in so much pain (not the restaurants fault) Now I just watch my family enjoy the yummy custard and remembered how awesome it tasted.

Ordered the royal turtle it was really good and will be returning!

Totally not a $. It's a $$1/2. Very good. We go with the family after dinner when we can all get together for a big dinner(1/monthish). Go for a mini if you're concerned about over eating or calorie counting.

If you come across the river into Vancouver do yourself a favor and stop at Sheridan's Custard on mill plain. Excellent staff. Super friendly. Also pretty quick service for a little drive in

This is a review by a vegetarian. It may not be Ted Drewes ( yelp.com/biz/ted-drewes-… ) but it's pretty damn close. Outdoor only seating or drive-thru for your frozen custard. It must be eaten immediately because it melts and also because it's delicious. I had a mini Big-Kahuna concrete because that was the one in the biggest typeface on the menu. Possible 5-star upgrade coming if I return after a long WA side hike and try the caramel pretzel thing or one of the house made waffle cones.

Roughly one year since my last visit, I returned to Sheridan's in late October for one of their seasonal treats. A spur-of-the-moment decision, really. Turned out to be an awesome choice. When fall hits, always be on the lookout for the seasonal specials. For the first part of fall, three specials hit the menu. For some reason, I passed on this part of the menu last year, so I guess the cravings exponentially intensified in 2012. The Chocolate Voodoo Pothole ($5.28 regular / $5.98 large) is the chocoholic's dream, blending brownies, chocolate chips, and hot fudge with their signature chocolate frozen custard, then filling it with dulce de leche. Apple pie lovers may love the Caramel Apple Sundae ($5.19 one size only): slice of apple pie, scoop vanilla frozen custard on top, caramel drizzle, and whipped cream. Pie a la mode got kicked up several notches! The panda loves pumpkin, so the Pumpkin Pie Concrete ($4.79 regular / $5.39 large) was a no-brainer. Having just finished a nice lunch, I opted for just a regular size this time. Think about it, blend a slice of pumpkin pie with that velvety vanilla frozen custard. Looked like whipped cream on top with pumpkin pie spices. Whomever thought of something like this should win a Nobel Peace Prize. After taking a couple of pictures to intentionally make my friends jealous, I dug in, and I immediately wished I'd have gotten the large. Didn't matter that it was 50 degrees outside. It's panda logic, after all. I'm a sucker for pumpkin pie anything, so it basically was an auto-win from the start. I liked the silky texture of the frozen custard, and ultimately, the small pie chunks just sold me. Whipped cream and the pumpkin pie spices made for an awesome presentation. Last year, I lived at least an hour away. Now, it's a few minutes. My stomach just may be seeing this place more often. There's a ton of items to try, but maybe I'll be able to make a dent over the course of time. But all hail the mighty pumpkin pie concrete!

The Caramel Pretzel Crunch is my favorite. It is INCREDIBLE! My family has been there several times and everything we have tried has been fantastic. Great place for a sweet treat on a warm evening. :)

Came here at 10:55pm on a Friday night. To my surprise not only were they open, but happy with smiles. I commend them for being open, not closing early the Friday before super bowl Sunday. When I'm looking for my ice-cream/custard fix I'll be here every time! Thanks everyone there for providing quick, accurate, and friendly service. The Carmel, pretzel concrete did not disappoint!

  • Michelle S.

don't overcomplicate the mixes. the plain vanilla is so out of this world good. when you add too many mixers and sauces, you can't taste it. I like it with just some pretzels to add a little salt flavor.

Now, I know I like my Froyo and I always stick to that, but today I decided to try Sheridan's again because my palate was craving a nice spoonful of decadence and silky smooth custard that you just don't get at a Froyo restaurant! I ordered the Special for February called the Red velvet Oreo smash, they blend up a whole PEICE of red velvet cake and real cream cheese frosting in vanilla custard and then add some Oreos and blend those up in there too and garnish it with chocolate chunks that where so rich and flavorful It was a deadly combination haha! The place looks SUPER clean and never in a rush the atmosphere is very factory like and they have no restaurant to sit in so you either have to sit on the picnic tables outside or Alope to your car to dive into your sweet, guilty pleasure which was fine by me because it was sunny but cold out! All in all its so yummy and rich I only have it about twice a year if even that. But every time I have it the quality is still there! Sheridan's means "no compromises" and they defiantly stick to that!

This place has really good frozen treats. I really like the caramel pretzel. It is pretty average prices when it comes to fast frozen treats. It's definitely worth a try if you are in the area. I think you can design your own ice cream creation with a variety of different flavors and toppings

    (4)
  • Marjory B.

I had the caramel pretzel crunch and it was ok, definitely nothing special. Boyfriend had the mango dango and he hated it. I took one bite of his and had a hard time believing those were fresh mangos (as their menu advises they are). They looked and tasted like the kind that come out of those fruit cups with the weird syrup. They may have been "fresh" at some point in their lives but they were pretty much nasty on top of that frozen custard. Really wanted to like this place but we'll probably just keep going to menchie's. Never disappointed there.

I was excited to try their custard since I haven't had frozen custard in years. I got a vanilla concrete with cookie dough. I was unimpressed, but that could be because I remember the custard back east being amazing. Sure, this was very creamy, but the lack of good "custardy" flavor and the overpriced items won't have me running back.

We went to every ice cream shop in Vancouver in order to find the out who makes the best ice cream. Click here to find the results... totalepicness.com/5-plac… I think Sheridan's makes some killer ice cream. And the drive thru window is really nice. I would give them a better rating if they weren't over priced and if they had some indoor setting. Brandon totalepicness.com

My wife and I absolutely love this place! Having recently moved to Vancouver we discovered Sheridan's and love their frozen custard! It's better than any frozen treat we've ever tried. A must go! If I only had one wish...is that they had an indoor seating area but that doesn't factor into my rating.

Seriously. This is the place that A takes me when he's screwed up. I'm not even joking. "What did you just say?" "Ummm that I'm taking you to Sheridan's?" "That's right." Frozen custard is like the baby of ice cream and soft serve and he happens to be a playboy (smooth & rich). I will crave this place even in the coldest of weathers. I've stuck with a couple of favorites. The wedding cake concrete (for those cake batter lovers out there). There is literally a slice of white cake smashed right in. Yes! When I'm craving a bit of sweet & savory, the caramel pretzel crunch it is! The pretzel bits stay crunchy & it's just the right amount of salt to make the caramel swirls divine. I love this place & I can't wait for A's next screw up. Did I say that out loud? Shh!

Don't you hate it when you go to compile a list, and a review you thought you'd written just WASN'T there? You were so sure it existed. Did the elves run off with my review? But I digress... For several years now, it's been my family's ritual to stop at Sheridan's on the way back to Seattle from Portland. It's out of the way, but we consider it worth it. We think it's so worth it, we sometimes sneak over here in the middle of our trip to Portland. Sheridan's Frozen Custard is THE best I've found in the Northwest. I'm a bit of a custard fanatic...so believe my sincerity, this place ROCKS. My favorite item is a Royal Turtle, this is a sundae with fudge AND caramel and pecans on vanilla custard. Here is where I will disgust you with my gluttony: I turn this into a concrete (think of a DQ "Blizzard" vs. a regular sundae and you speak my language), and add pretzels. Really huge, rich and soooo delicious. Of course, I could be a purist (or wimp) like my kids and just eat plain, old chocolate custard. But, you can't call yourself a glutton if you do that... Another popular item with our family: Grant's Grasshopper with mint, oreos and chocolate chips. Combo possibilities are endless here, they've got tens of mix-in to choose from, and I think that's one aspect that makes Sheridan's #1 in my NW frozen custard black book. True to midwest custard stands I've visited, Sheridan's has no inside seating. You stand outside or go through the drive thru...and you don't really want people staring at you as you eat that giant sundae...do you?

Wow!.i eat ice cream about once a year as it's just not something I m fond of. This is the second time in 16 months since I ve ( just around the corner) lived in Vancouver. This custard is DELICIOUS! The staff are super friendly and both times I ve been impressed with how genuinely I felt welcomed and valued as a customer. I don t usually leave reviews but this place DESERVES to be acknowledged.

I think I found my new home. It is 14389 SE Mill Plain Road in Vancouver, WA. If they will take me, I'd like to move in. For those of you that know me I am a big big fan of frozen custard. Let me say that better. I am a BIG BIG BIG BIG FAN OF FROZEN CUSTARD. CAN YOU HEAR ME? Sadly the one place of that I knew in Portland (turns out there is another that I have yet to try) that had frozen custard went out a business a while back. That was a sad sad day in the history of this country. Ok, maybe not. Maybe just in the history of Portland. Probably not that either. Anyway now I have to go up to Washington State (just across the border) to get my frozen custard fix. Sheridan's has craved my fix at least for a short time. I took a friend up here who had never had frozen custard in his life. I think his life now is much better. Probably not much different than it was previous to this outing, but I'd like to think it is a touch better. Rainy weather might not be frozen custard weather. Hush your mouth. No weather is bad weather for frozen custard. The custard here is really good. They lose a star with me because they don't do soft serve custard. I am a big fan of the chocolate/vanilla swirl. They do scoops of custard here which seems odd to me. It isn't bad, it just isn't what I'm used to. Saying that, it wouldn't stop me from coming up here again. The custard is made fresh daily and although in scoop form as opposed to swirled form it is still pretty phenomenal. Looking forward to coming up here on some nice sunny and warm days next year. Custard is good in any weather (I said that already), but a bit more special when the sun is shining.

What the heck is frozen custard, you ask? Well according to the staff, it is ice cream that is supposed to be "higher in milk content, more dense, smoother and served in higher temperature (so it doesn't freeze your taste buds)" After that description, I HADDD to try a couple of scoops to see what Sheridan's has to offer. Got 2 waffle cones, one chocolate, one vanilla. First of all, the cone was stale--not even remotely crunchy. What a disappointment. /= Additionally, the frozen custard was very ordinary. Didn't seem smoother or richer by any means. I also felt jibbed, the scoop was uber small and at $1.99 each, I wished we went to MickeyD's instead where you KNOWWW the vanilla cones won't disappoint.

  • Lindsay B.

Love it! This was my 3rd time to Sheridan's. I am not sure I can explain how yummy frozen custard is. Doing some research on their website, they say it's made with less air than ice cream which gives it its smooth creamy texture. Sheridan's greatness goes beyond the custard. The toppings and the array of concoctions on the menu make it great. The custard is made onsite, it looks like frozen yogurt when it comes out of the machine, but then they freeze it at a certain temperature that gives it a scoopable texture. They make vanilla and chocolate. If it's your first time, I recommend trying a simple cup or a cone so you can truly taste the custard. The restaurant is designed to look like a drive-in with walk-up windows and a drive thru. The kids that work there are just that...kids, they don't add anything to the experience, but with some patience, they'll get you what you need.

We found this place just driving by and it has become a regular stop for us. The custard is amazingly creamy and rich, and there are so many sundaes and combinations to try that you never get bored. I don't recommend the cake milkshakes as the cake gives the custard a gritty feel but everything else is fabulous!!

I heard there is a secret code word to get a free topping. Apparently if you ask them about "the old custard factory promotion" it gives you one free topping. Disclaimer* I haven't personally tried it but a friend swears up and down about it* As for treats get the one with pretzels and penutbutter and stuff.

Better then ice cream in every way. If you have never had frozen custard you really need to come to Sheridan's and check it out. The customer service is top notch and its always clean. Highly recommended.

So I came here craving something sweet and yummy, the server was funny he was definately a character, that is something I like in service where they make you laugh and enjoy yourself. He recommended the manager special, which was Lemon Custard with Brownie mixed in. I was a little leary, but I said "sure". When I tried a bite of this custard I was hit with lemon, then the chocolatey brownie, then lemon again. This was something very new, very interesting and it worked. The flavor of the lemon, the sweet of the brownie it was a winner in my book, it was very delicious and I would honestly get it again.

Rich, creamy alternative to soft-serv ice cream, as popularized in seasonal outlets from Minnesota to Buffalo. Sheridan's has a thick, satisfying base custard and a splendid array of concoctions from sundaes to concretes (think DQ Blizzard). And while everything on the menu is good, the location has two drawbacks that prevent the restaurant from qualifying for 5-star. There is neither adequate seating nor customer restroom on-site, and as an establishment surely inviting families, those are significant constraints to keep in mind.

  • Kiennah B.

Tasty and satisfying. Kinda spendy but not outrageous. Best part of this place is its location. My fiancé and I walk here a few times during the summer and it makes for a quick summer time treat. Perfectly located in the middle of the McGillivary/Hearthwood neighborhoods. We often see other couples/families/kids that have walked and biked here which is kind of a nice change of pace.

We happened by this place because we went to tint our car windows and we passed it on the way up. Frozen custard!? Some things just sound good together like bacon wrapped steak, fried anything, and frozen custard. You've piqued my interest! I had a Grasshopper "concrete" off their menu. It was composed of frozen vanilla custard, mint, chocolate chips and Oreo. How can that NOT be good! I would compare it slightly to a Dairy King Blizzard, but way better. It melted fast, but that might be because we got it on a hot day. Tastes good all the same! The location has a old school drive through feel. You just walk up to the window and order. If you have never had frozen custard, make your way out here and give it a try. FYI for all the Hawaii people flying to the "Ninth Island" of Las Vegas, NV. They apparently have a location in Henderson, NV.

I heard about this place from a friend who said I should try it since it is an extremely popular chain in the southeast where she lives (she lives in Memphis). Anyway I have been here a couple times and it's okay. I feel like the custard melts really quick before I can finish the dessert but it must be something that custard does. I had a concrete which is similar to a Dairy Queen blizzard. Anyway, good for a hot day when you want some creamy refreshment!

Sheridan is the real deal! If you like Dairy Queen, Cold Stone or Baskin Robbins, you're love Sheridan. Freshly made ice cream, frozen yogurts, ice blended coffee with any type of toppings you could imagine. YUMMY!!! The Good: 1. The chocolate mint with peanut butter cups was so yummy!!! 2. Great service and great selection. 3. Drive thru window for on the go. The Bad: 1. No indoor seating. So if it's cold, you're gonna freeze sitting outside. The Ugly: 1. I didn't finish my chocolate mint frozen yogurt with peanut butter cups because it was massive!

Do you like ice cream? Yeah? So, you'd probably LOVE something that was *even better* than ice cream. Better than ice cream? That's how I would describe frozen custard, the substance that Sheridan's serves up! Ohs Mahs Gadz - we drive to Sheridan's all the time! We used to drive all the way up from Lake Oswego, and it has been worth it EVERY TIME! They're open relatively late and they have a wide variety of delicious frozen custard treats. Something for any taste (as long as you like sweet things). Try it - the only bad part is that you won't like ice cream as much any more now that you've had something so much better...

Oh my God, sooo good. Sweet simplicity at its best. Hello, I'm a regular that should say a lot. Sadly, I would be more of a regular if I lived in Vancouver. I usually get chocolate custard one scoops, two scoops, and maybe one day three scoops with hot fudge. I'm sure anything you pick from their menu would be delicious beyond belief. Every time I visit family, I make it a point to go to Sheridan's at least once. It is a franchise, anyone want to be my business partner? Then again there might not be any frozen custard for the customers.

I've never had frozen custard before and boy, did I miss out on something sweet. It's so creamy! They have a drive-thru! So convenient for your sweet tooth! I ordered Grant's Grasshopper and my boyfriend had the Royal Turtle. The Grant's Grasshopper was so good. It wasn't too sweet and oh, those Oreos! The Royal Turtle was rich and tasty, a bit too sweet for my taste, but perfect for my boyfriend's. I'm glad that they have small sizes, because we had just put away a huge meal. Despite being ridiculously (almost painfully) full after our dessert, we didn't regret it! What a treat!

Great variety, delectable menu items, fast service, old school ice cream shoppe order and p/u windows. Only thing it lacks is some sugar free menu selections... with so many among us struggling w/diabetes and other weight/diet issues, this seems very achievable, and a no-brainer....

i am proud to say that i was born and raised in the dairyland where custard originates. upon my arrival in vancouver, i quite literally jumped up in my passenger seat and practically caused a car accident from my excitement -- "CUSTARD!" i screamed :) though i was already very full from dinner, i insisted that we stop and let my taste buds determine if this joint was up to par. and OH -- it was. not just commercial chain custard good (oh yes, we have those back home), but mom & pop custard good.

Finally, FINALLY someone had the good sense to bring this gastronomical delight from the Midwest to the Pacific Northwest! For those of you frozen custard virgins, think of the smoothest, creamiest gelato you've ever had and then make it about half again as better! Frozen Custard is a straight from the heartland treat. It's made fresh everyday and is then turned into whatever delightful frozen cup of goodness you choose. Being a purist, one cannot improve upon the golden child of sundaes, the Turtle. Super creamy custard, hot fudge & caramel, topped with perfectly roasted and salted pecans and a maraschino cherry (that looked like it had been on steroids, it was that big). Nuff said... Get yourself to Sheridans, get a Turtle and thank me later.

YAY! Sheridan's Frozen Custard!!! How can I describe what in the world frozen custard is? In between ice cream and frozen yogurt - delightfully smooth and creamy. My BF suggested that I check out Sheridan's on my recent visit to Portland. My friend who I stayed with lives in Vancouver, WA and her first remark was "My daughter loves that place and it's literally right up the street from our house." I happen to be a purest my first try was simply plain vanilla frozen custard. Perfect. You can also get chocolate plain. This location is similar to a 50's-60's drive thru locale. Yes, there is a drive thru and no, there is no indoor seating. You order from the take out window and you can see inside the employees making the frozen custard and other topping creations. Pretty cool - think Kripsy Kreme donuts, but the inside of the a frozen custard factory. It was a wee bit chilly the first night we went and on my second visit in the span of my four day stay in Portland, the next visit it was sunny and hot. Both times I was completely full from eating other stuff. But, I had to get my Sheridan's fix. So on this second visit I had a coffee flavored custard with toffee bits. It was okay. I think I was expecting a more coffee ice cream flavor, but didn't get it. The menu is pretty simple, but everything seems so yummy - there's even a recipe with gummy worms and dirt (a.k.a. crushed oreo cookies). With these concoctions you can get a mini size which is great when you're not that hungry and you just want a taste. It's more than enough! Lots of parking in this location - but, I can't tell you where exactly - so just google map it.

I love custard! It is the creamiest ice cream I have ever had in my life. It is what I think silk tastes like. The vanilla is your best choice then go from there with mix-ins or toppings. Your other choice is chocolate and it doesn't live up to a true chocolate flavor. The seasonal 'peppermint pothole' was incredible. Crushed peppermint candies mixed into vanilla custard and a "filled pothole" of hot fudge. So decadent I couldn't finish the small. But lucky for me it kept perfectly in the freezer for nearly two weeks. If you want perfection choose vanilla custard, add hot fudge, and ask for a generous helping of spanish peanuts. Nirvana. Drive-thru and walk-up. Take home pints and quarts are available.

After a day at Washougal river we stopped by here at a friend's suggestion. The menu took a spell to get through and I've already forgotten the name of what it was I decided on. I just know it had bananas, hot fudge and strawberry. I also just know that I super loved it. I like that the custard is made fresh (and on-site, I believe). It tastes great, the fruit (aside from the strawberries---very sugary and glazed or something. I don't know what was going on there. I don't make food. I eat it.) was fresh, and overall I was impressed by what I was eating. Another thing that impressed me was how fast the service was although the young girls taking the order yakked a good minute before they actually addressed me at the window (I've been a teenager at a similar place too. I understand their priorities). Once I had my order placed however, it seemed as if it were ready nearly instantaneously. I don't really have any major complaints other than the initial service and the strawberries. I really wish they would have just been raw and fresh. However, should I get in the area again I would definitely go by here.

It's an OK place. We enjoy just a small cup with strawberries on top. Staff is always pleasant and service is prompt.

Tasty, affordable, and great substitute for ice cream! Drive thru makes this place convenient and there are numerous flavor possibilities .

Very rich and creamy. Suggestions: The Razzle Dazzle (raspberries, vanilla frozen custard, covered in fudge) and the Grasshopper (Mint chocolate chip) are both delicious.

I don't know what wizardry these guys employ that makes so much awesome come out of that big steel ice cream/custard machine, but whatever it is, don't stop. They keep it simple with just chocolate and vanilla, but the army of random things waiting to be blended into or packed on top of the desserts more than makes up for an otherwise humble origin. I usually go for the weird but awesome caramel pretzel concrete. I didn't think the NW knew what custard was but it turns out there's at least one shop keeping the dream alive. Definitely worth dropping by.

First time having frozen custard. GF and I ordered the Grasshopper and Caramel/Pretzel concretes. Really, really good stuff. We would certainly prefer driving a little further and going here, instead of settling for a DQ or other quick ice cream shop. Try it out.

I had Sheridan's once a couple years ago and I hate to say, but I did not enjoy it. I had it again a few days ago and I still don't like it. I had a vanilla malt and a friend had a vanilla milk shake. Unfortunately, the taste of mine reminded me of something I shall not mention and my friend's shake did not even taste like vanilla or milk. I guess frozen custard is just not for me.

my coronary arteries: help me please me: shut up my brain: sugar + fat = happy place my yelp review: this frozen custard is remarkable - airy yet dense, richly flavorful without being cloyingly treacly. I love nothing more than a regular vanilla custard with a squirt of marshmallow fluff on top. But their concretes (basically custard + mix-ins blended together) are also lovely, with generous amounts of mix-ins. They have something new called a "pothole," which is basically a concrete with a core of hot fudge - decadence at its worst/finest, but all the bells and whistles obfuscate the simple beauty of the custard in my *humble* opinion. The workers are friendly and fast and cheery. I imagine if I were surrounded by frozen custard, I'd be pretty happy too. Or on the floor writhing from an attack of hyperglycemia...

Good. Lord. This place is my heaven. I came here because my tattoo artist told me about it and so I surprised him with a cone but couldn't drive and hold two cones at the same time! CATASTROPHE. so. After my tattoo I stopped by Sheridan's again for myself. WOW. I got a small mixed (chocolate and vanilla) waffle cone. ONLY $2.47. and holy smokes. IT WAS SO GOOD. Definitely a bad and good situation because I will probably weigh 700 pounds by the time I leave the Pacific Northwest area in a month. But good because it's just the most delicious thing in the entire world, of course.

First and foremost, when I went here it was 80 degrees out, I was with friends who wanted to go here, and it was busy They where polite, they where kind of fast, but they where not serving anything I wanted. I thought since they sold frozen custard, they might sell a llitle bit of frozen yogurt or ice cream, nope. If you don't like forzen custard, like me, don't even go here, because they aren't even polite about it. My review reflects more than just the no ice cream bit, it also reflects the fact that they ran out of four different things that my friends asked for, and that they only hire 18 year old high school girls, not an ounce of personality amongst all of them. Plus they don't have really anywhere to sit down inside when its hot (and they're three or four outside tables are always taken when its hot).

I have never heard of it until my friend told me to try it when I went to go visit her. I think I am now a fan of frozen custard! There is definitely a big difference in taste and texture. Frozen custard has a much smoother taste. I had the Chocolate Voodoo Pothole which consists of chocolate custard, brownie bits, chocolate chips, hot fudge, and dulce de leche. It was delicous! I definitely had a sugar high from it. It is a lot so I would suggest that you share with someone.

Normally this is a Midwest treat but it has amazingly made it to Washington. This is the only place that has a mango concrete. Mango mixed with vanilla this is in my opinion the best combination it will blow your mind. This is a walk up place so there is no seating.

Nice touch o' the Midwest on display here - I hadn't witnessed these outside of MO - and a tasty treat worth the occasional trip across the river. "Concretes" instead of "Blizzards" are pretty good but ordering off-menu malts gets you some happy results.

Sometimes frozen yogurt or gelato or sorbet or even ice cream isn't enough. Sheridan's is just about the only place in the NW (other than Astoria) you can get frozen custard, unlike the east coast where there's a custard stand on every other block. We are so missing out here, people! Smooth, thick, creamy...a meal itself, don't eat dinner first. The only thing better would be if they'd make a soft-serve, like the shack in Astoria.

Frozen Custard was great! The toppings were left out to long and didn't taste well. When I arrived for my first time and see a line 15 people long at 9PM I knew I was in the right place. A must do in Vancouver WA.

Okay, I love their custard. Prices aren't so bad, but when the blond kid behind the counter (who looked and sounded like legalized marijuana was perfectly fine with him) took off his hat and shook his head in the middle of the establishment, I found myself looking into my custard wondering if there were any "extras" I may not have been charged for.

When in the mood for a shake, ditch the thought and come to Sheridan's and order a concrete instead! This place makes excellent frozen treats. The sheer number of toppings available are staggering. At first I thought the prices were a little high, but since then I have come to the realization that I eat one of their regular-size concretes and do not crave another for a few weeks because of the tasty creamy custard.

We've come here many times in the past, and lately I have lots if things to fault it for. My favorite thing to get here, the cherry old-fashioned soda, has just a few maraschino cherries where there used to be at least a cup. There seemed to be no flavored syrup in it, and who wants to drink a float that tastes like club soda? Weak, Sheridan's. Weak.

so good... I would have given them 5 stars like everyone else but they didn't have a few items on their menu this time I went. I have visited them every time I am in Vancouver since my friend introduced me to them. There is no where else to get fresh frozen custard in the northwest. The next closest Sheridans is on the Midwest. Hit's the spot after a good meal on the town or just anytime you have a sweet tooth craving. Much like frozen yogurt but firmer, since it is custard and I believe uses eggs. You have to try their concretes, that is their signature item. I had the mango dango this time because they didn't have pumpkin pie or apple pie. my friend always gets their Straw-ana Sundae. I will be back next time I am in town with $5 in hand.

BEST frozen custard I have ever had outside of the midwest. I now stop here every time I am passing through the area on I-5.

Worth coming to Vancouver for! This is actually the first restaurant of any kind that I went to after moving here. Sheridan's makes frozen custard right on the (very well lit) premises, and then creates any variation on that that you could possibly think of. They offer sundaes, concretes, shakes and more. I had the butter pecan concrete the first time I went here, which was very good, but very sweet. The second time I has the razzle dazzle sundae, which was amazing. Thick vanilla custard topped with raspberries and rich, dark hot fudge. So good! My husband had the marshmallow malt which I also recommend.

best ice cream (frozen custard) ever! Everything is so amazing. My favorite would have to be the buck-a-roo. It's freshly sliced bananas and strawberries with vanilla frozen custard and hot fudge. My favorite USED to be the dirt and worms (vanilla custard with fudge sprinkles and gummy worms...favorite until they started to only put 3 worms on the top. They refuse to blend it throughout and its .95 cents for 3 more. RIDICULOUS! .....by the way..the customer service sucks. Very slow and hate to say it but snobby. Don't take it out on us that you hate your job! Jeeze! Oh, and I wouldn't recommend getting the caramel pretzel crunch unless you love sweets. It's very sweet...too sweet for me..I had a tummy ache afterwards.:(

Incredibly rich and decadent soft serve frozen custard. Very rich and smooth like gelato. We both had the turtle, which is vanilla custard with chocolate and caramel sauce with pecans and maraschino cherries. A great splurge!

It's alright icecream. Quite a selection, though. However, it's very expensive. And there is no indoor seating, so you can't really go at night, and you don't want icecream during the day, so i'm surprised it's still in buisness.

Wholly crap I love this place! I wanted a frozen treat and suggested a butterfinger blizzard to the bf. He, being very 'Couve-savvy, suggested that I stop wasted my time and try out Sheridan's. Their version of a blizzard is called a "concrete" and is exponentially better than and DQ treat. It was soo rich and creamy- amazing! I'm going to need to stop by again soon so I can try their new lemon bar concrete- genius!

Oh, holy God, is this place good. It's worth the diabetes you'll eventually get from eating there. Trust me on this one.

This place said they close at 11:00 we got there at 10:52 and the store was closed. I understand that they might not have had everything running but to be closed before the actual posted time BAD. I enjoyed their custard but having a shop close before its posted time in my opinion is bad for business. It is to bad because I had a care of 6 people and there were a couple of cars after us pulling in the store.

My wife and I moved from Vancouver a few years ago and THIS is the place that we miss. We are always sure to stop by when we visit. The concrete is excellent and it way better than ice cream or frozen yogurt. We are moving back this summer and looking forward to more Sheridan's on a regular basis.

I've never had frozen custard before, but I'm quite certain when I say this stuff is AMAZING. Considering I never eat "real" ice cream (always get frozen yogurt), Sheridan's probably seemed even more rich and decadent to me. Basically, imagine the richest, yet fluffiest soft serve you can possibly imagine... that's Sheridan's. A regular size is more than enough. I don't know if anyone's stomach can handle a larger size of such rich and sweetness. I got the Dirt concrete (think of a McFlurry or Blizzard- that's what a "concrete" is) which was vanilla ice cream mixed with Oreo cookies, topped with gummy worms and chocolate sprinkles. I'm only giving it four stars because I would have wanted more gummy worms that were actually mixed in with the yogurt (I only got two gummy worms). However, what I had was amazing... one of the best ice creams I've had in a long time. Certainly competition for Dairy Queen up the street!

I live in Portland and don't often venture to Vancouver. However, I will make and exception for Sheridan's. I love this place. I will plan a hike on the WA side of the gorge specifically so I will have an excuse to stop at Sheridan's afterwards (and to work off some of those delicious creamy calories). I love to get a chocolate custard with peanut butter and pretzels mixed in. If you haven't gone here yet, GO!! It's worth the trek!
