The food is good, but to the reviewer who wrote "excellent service", I reply with "excellent service...my posterior!" (I am trying to be polite here). Yes the food was good, but when I finished I was expecting the waitress to return as I wanted coffee and desert. I never say her again. I had a copy of "USA Today" with me...which I call "USA Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow" or as many call it "McPaper" (don't believe me?..just read an edition of it). Be that as it may, I finished the paper, and the crossword puzzle in it while awaiting the waitress. She never returned. I decide that direct action was needed so I gathered up all the dirty dishes from my table and paraded into the kitchen with them while loudly announcing my presence...and the presence of the dirty dishes. This seemed to spring what must have been the manager into action from his coma. He immediately went into the dining room to make sure that al was well with the diners. I told my waitress that with a little bit of practice, should could bring the level of service form pitifully poor to outright abysmal. Despite all that, I did leave her a decent tip.....ain't I a good guy? My advice...avoid this place.

Excellent service... Always had chips and salsa and water. The salsa was thick and spicy.. We loved it! I ordered the chunky guacamole and it was basically chopped up avocados with tomatoes and a bit too much lime. I didn't really know what to expect, usually you get blended avocado with chucks in it. I think less lime and I would have loved it more. My daughter on the other hand loved it the way it was. Nice and clean and great feel in the restaurant. Tad spendy... just a couple dollars more than the norm. Great for groups and date night.

We were sat in the bar section, not at the bar itself but in the seating area around the bar. Place wasn't too busy. Took over 10 minutes for someone to take our order. Bartender who served us was very friendly. More concerned with pushing the drinks and shots of tequila then getting us food. Ordered the traditional taco salad with ground beef. When served the tortilla bowl was sitting in a mixture of water and grease (will try to attach picture). The flavor wasn't bad but overall the grease overwhelmed the dish and couldn't eat more then half of it.

Jorge's is a pretty standard Mexi-Merican restaurant. Lots of basics like burritos, tacos, and enchiladas, alongside brightly-colored drinks the size of small children. I met the girls for dinner after work the other night. Jenny W. and I showed up considerably earlier than the other two so we shared an order of fresh guac with our chips. It was comprised of huge chunks of diced avocado and tomatoes, rather than a traditional mash. We also ordered margaritas because...When in Rome. My small marg was a huge 16oz goblet, it's counterpart a large 32oz that I knew better than to attempt. The margaritas were fine, though nothing unique. Because the guac was so filling I opted to share a meal with Jaime L. We went with the chicken enchilada blancos which were pretty good. Flour tortillas filled with chicken and covered in a creamy white sauce. Jaime also ordered a cup of tortilla soup which in reality was a huge bowl; I can't imagine how big the actual bowl is. Prices were reasonable. I took over the cost of the enchiladas and the guac and I think my bill was just over $20. The things that really push Jorge's up a notch are the service, which was attentive and friendly, and the cleanliness. There's nothing that will turn me off a restaurant faster than a dirty booth or bathroom, and Jorge's was clean. It's a nice addition to the downtown area.

If you like Mexican food completely Americanized, then you'll love it. This food has zero taste, totally blah on both occasions. That said, the salsa is incredible!

Came here to watch the world cup game on sunday since they have happy hour all day sunday. Came back again during labor day weekend also on sunday. Otherwise you can still take advantage of the happy hour 3-6pm and 9/10pm to close on any other days. They have $5 margarita and food from $5-$7 on happy hour and their chips and salsa always seem to be coming! I say the food is worth the price. They have plenty of TV's so we had no issues watching the world cup, but felt bad for the elderly group that came that chose to be reseated away from us since we were very much into the game. Tasty food and good price!

While I'll always give 5 stars to this location I don't even visit the second location anymore after my second visit there. This location however has always, always been on point. I've been here about 6 times now and I have zero complaints regarding anything other than the music. Before 9pm its regular atmosphere music.... After 9pm it's the most horrible dance club nightclub music ever. No one is dancing man.... We are eating food & having a weak cocktail. Wait a second.... It's 10:17pm and the music cut off mid techno vibe out of no where. This happened at the other location so often we don't visit there anymore. Fade to quite yo. FADE TO QUITE.

Great food - super nice staff - but always understaffed no matter what day you come. Expect to be here a while no matter where you sit and what day you come, but you will love the food and will be treated well.

On a Friday night we went for the first time and loved it. Our server Luis was great even though we kept bugging him for extras, next time we'll order it all at once. We got our fajitas for two with the chicken, steak and shrimp quicker than we thought we would. Everything was better than we expected. Our new go to for Mexican.

If your in Vancouver WA, hit this place up and order there Michilada! Oh man, delicious! Good was great as well, a lil pricey for Mexican but worth it.

The food and cocktails were amazing! But it was so hot in there I couldn't enjoy myself! We asked the server about the AC. He said that it could only get 10 degrees cooler in the building than outside. So that means it was 87 degrees in there. And it felt like it! The asada burrito was fantastic. The Horni Viking was a bit sweet but came in a super fun cup. I would have given it 5 stars if I didn't have a wet spot on my back and sweat running down my face.

5 stars for their jorgita margarita. 15.00 but very well worth it!!! The best ever. Food is plain jane. They Have Alot of choices For Margaritas But Only One Makes The headlines! Jorgita margarita. On the rocks. You won't find a better margarita in the Pacific nw. Guaranteed. Service is pretty good.

We went in the other night for a family dinner. I'm not sure if it was just the night we went in on or what, but it was SO loud in there. The food was good but the service was terrible. We waited forever to put in our order and there were a ton of people working. Maybe try it for lunch when it's not so loud or busy!

My favorite happy hour place in town. I would eat here every night if I could. I usually sit at the bar. Allen is best bartender ever and Genevieve is the rookie of the year waitress in the Pacific Northwest.

We went on a Friday night and I think the place was still filled with coworkers celebrating the weekend, so it was loud! My wife and I sat in the bar and quickly had a server stop by. We ordered the chunky guacamole to go with the free chips and salsa. Delicious large chunks of avocado with pico de gallo, lime, and onion. Very good, at $7.50 the portion is large. For dinner I had the pollo a la crema and she had the enchiladas verdes. Both were very good, flavorful and overly generous portions. My wife had a margarita and said it was pretty average for $8, and I can't speak to the drinks, but the drink menu is huge! We had great service throughout the meal though I never did get a refill on my diet Pepsi. I cannot knock the place for much. The set-up and construction of the place doesn't help the noise, but hey it was Friday night. We will be trying it again!

We stopped by last night with a couple of friends. The restaurant is huge and has plenty of seating, but we sat in the bar - which also has a huge section. Service was excellent despite it being incredibly packed and we never went without getting our chips and salsa refilled. The drinks all come in ginormous goblets, basically. I got the strawberry mojito and it was awesome. My friends shared a "perfect margarita" and enjoyed it. Food was good - honestly better than other mexican joints I've tried. I got the Enchiladas Blancas and they give you a really generous serving of beans and rice. The one thing I absolutely hated about the bar is how loud it was. There is loud from people talking, but then there was insanely loud music and sports on top of that. It was almost unbearable. You couldn't even hear the people across from you talking. I'd still come back, but I probably wouldn't go back on a Friday night.

On a Sunday night we had a dinner reservations for 23 at Main Event Sports Bar. We were hungry, thirsty and ready to celebrate a hard earned victory. When we arrived we discovered they overbooked and gave away our tables. Needless to say, we were not happy. We called Jorge's and were given a reservations right away. We arrived there 5 min later with the tables ready and staff ready. We all were impressed with the fast and wonderful service we received. On top of that, the food was excellent. Highly recommend this place.

This place has become a weekly favorite. Come here all the time and am never disappointed. The foods great and fresh and the service is awesome. Personal favorites are the Carne Asada and guacamole.

  • Mike J.

Pretty decent food and decent drinks. The staff was attentive but stood too close to our conversation at the bar polishing bottles of tequila. We were kind of put off because he was literally right on top of us for like twenty minutes wiping down bottles of alcohol as we conversed. We decided we should just order more shots and get drunk. This seemed to remedy the situation. The chips and salsa were average at best but they were also free. You can't beat that with a stick.

Pretty good, the guacamole was excellent. The side rice portion could feed Ethiopia! Wish the waitress would have said how big it was and we would have only gotten one side.....

5 stars for the friendliest service in town! I think this is a great Tex Mex style place. No request is asking too much....well I'm not that high maintenance so don't get crazy.... What I love.....enchiladas blancas w pork green chili the platter w a chili rellano (not battered and fried thank you!) chili Colorado..fabulous! Tortillas are yummy chips are good and plentiful. Very average margaritas but a great tequila selection and beer selection including some local beers on tap. It's a huge restaurant always comfy seating. And always spotless.

Oh boy. Their salsa has an excess of oregano and desperately needs some lime juice to brighten it up (and replace that dried oregano with fresh cilantro). Everything is just so musty and "blah" tasting. Not spicy and fresh. If you like your food greasy and heavy with a side of heartburn, this place is for you. Also, I can't help but point out that their dated sponged wall treatment reminds me of vomit.

I expect three things out of a good mexican restaurant. 1. Hot and delicious chips. They deliver on this. 2. Great house made, made-to-order margaritas. Nope. I ordered a margarita and it was in front of me in less than two minutes. I watched the bartender, and there wasn't any "making it fresh" happening. It was average for what it was, a premade mix. The margarita was huge, but I wished it had tasted better. 3. Great salsa. Nope. This salsa tasted like it had a condensed tomato soup base, so it tasted a bit more like I was eating spaghetti sauce. Was it average? Yes. I'd be back if all I wanted was chips. Also, what's up with the loud 90's pop music?

  • Lisa C.

We were there last night. We ordered "small" margaritas, which are a large at other places we've been. They were fine. I ordered the vegetarian burrito. It's huge. My problem was that it was very, very salty on the internal ingredients which were black beans & rice. There were veggies over the top. I ate mostly the veggies. Husband had carne asada, and he liked it but said it was marinated in a sweeter style, less lime, than he's used to. His came with rice & refried beans. I tried his beans and they seemed ok. I will consider coming again to see if the salt issue was a one time problem. Also, I usually do tell the staff if there is a problem, but I just wasn't up for it this time. If it were to happen again, I will.

I love this place! If you don't mind noise, this place is great for dinner with family, watching the game, or catching up with girlfriends during happy hour over their novelty sized (perfect) margarita. (Which I highly recommend sharing.) Food is fantastic, extremely extensive drink menu and friendly service. My favorite Mexican place in Vancouver.

    (5)
  • Brian C.

I have been there a few times now. I found that they have prompt & friendly service, the drinks are pretty decent, but the beer selection isn't as great as id like it to be. I admit that I have pretty high expectations when it comes to beer selection, considering Portland is pretty much the beer center of the universe. I found the food to be pretty good. I like super hot, mouth searing salsas, but their salsa was pretty low on the heat scale. I didn't ask to see if they have hotter salsa available. Next time maybe, because I will definitely be back to support this Vancouver business.

Chunky guacamole, pineapple watermelon mojito, fajita sampler and fried ice cream will definitely bring us back!!!

The high star ratings for this joint may say more about the clientele than the place. Seems Vantuckians are either unaware of what constitutes a "great experience" in dining or they are just resigned to bars set low with no hope of decent standards. Under NO circumstances is this a good restaurant unless your only goal is to get plastered on three or more overpriced (and "upsold") drinks. Yes - the wait staff and bartenders will try to push the tequila items that are featured on laminated cards, with pictures - you know - like a Denny's menu only for weak booze. The house drinks are voluminous but under liquored. Another laminated tome tells of the food offerings. Each is either overly queso covered, enriched with "authentic" black olives or fried. Be prepared to fork over many, many of your hard-earned pesos for any plate, combo or ala carte item. We were actually astonished enough - and under-impressed enough - to have the forethought to share a plate. Our bill was still nearly fifty bucks for two because we added a little bowl of guac to our drinks and nachos. Yes - drinks, nachos and a little guac in trade for paper with U.S Grant's likeness thereon. Thinking of the fun times the world under Pres. Grant, we later learned how awfully, horridly conceived the costuming choices were for Cinco de Mayo at Jorge's was. Our Latin American friends attended a large birthday gathering at this establishment only to be treated to very stereotypically dressed wait staff. The clothing that evening included waiters dressed as cowboys and Indians. We realize that May fifth events are purely a fiction of American capitalism, but the reports of the charade perpetrated that evening are enough to seal the deal for us. We will never return to Jorge's Tequila Factory. We *will* frequent the locally-sourced and owned Woody's Tacos around the corner. Their drinks are stronger, the ambiance more conducive to friendly conversation and the masquerade left out completely. yelp.com/biz/woodys-taco…

The food is awesome and the staff is top notch! I have business lunches here, bring my friends here and my sister in law had her 30th birthday here. The drinks are wonderful hand made concoctions. A large selection and not expensive at all, especially during happy hour.

Anybody giving this more than 3 stars is not to be trusted. (We wondered why we never see a Taco Bell.) The "Mexican" food is actually Tex-Mex. Perhaps that term is unknown in Vancouver. We had drinks, and split mole enchiladas and a fajita salad. The food was filling and edible, but nothing interesting or unique. Very poor mole: the chocolate and peanut butter sauce was too bland to be memorable. Last, we had 2 drinks each and didn't feel a thing. Very unusual for my wife who can barely manage 2 drinks, to not have the slightest buzz. If the bartenders are doing their jobs right, the liquor must have been diluted. In truth, there's no guarantee the drinks have sufficient alcohol to get high, which is better for driving home. My tap Negro Modelo, was a little flat and not cold enough.

  • B B.

First, please note that besides the existence of a children's menu and a physical division between the "bar" and the "restaurant", this is actually just one big bar that serves food. That is not a dis. It's just the truth. I was surprised that while the male wait staff wore short to long sleeved shirts and long pants, the female wait staff wore shorts that if they were any shorter would be bikini bottoms (and "nude" in color to boot). Further, one of the female wait staff was wearing a tee shirt that was literally shredded across the back with a lacy tube top underneath. While I really don't care what people choose to wear on their own time, I thought it a bit odd that a restaurant was ok with or even required this type of dress for their wait staff, especially when there was such a huge difference between how the males and females were attired. Not sure what the deal is, but it gave me the feeling that I was in a themed bar and about to pay too much money for a watery drink. The good: the chili verde is great. Melt in your mouth pork with delightful verde. Margaritas were great. All day happy hour on Sundays. Lots of cocktails to choose from. Yay! The bad: the chips and salsa are not good. The chips seemed stale or just low quality. The salsa was meh. The refried beans and rice were bleh. No flavor. Service, once we got it, was attentive as far as if the waiter thought we were going to order more ($$$). As far as getting ice water, ordering, checking in on us - they could care less was the feeling I got. The noise level in this place is at cacophony level 17. I could barely hear myself think. I don't know if it is just the acoustics of the space or the loud bar blenders whizzing and whirring, the too loud music, or a combo. It didn't appear the sound was on on the tvs (that are all over the place - again this is a bar, not a restaurant). My dining companion and I kept shouting "what?" to each other and when we finally left we both felt instant ear-relief outside. So, yeah. I think I would give it another try but they need to figure out a better service flow and tamper down their volume somehow and change up the chips. Also - holy price tag shock. For two people our bill was almost $50.

This place is delicious! I love a good margarita and this place nails it spot on. My favorite flavor is the guava. Good chips and salsa, good food, everybody loves Jorge's

  • Dashawn A.

This is a great restaurant, so great that I started to come multiple times a week. The chips & salsa are great, especially the habanero one. I wouldn't recommend coming as much as I did because it does get old and I don't enjoy it nearly as much anymore.

    (3)
  • Christopher S.

The food was disappointing. The onions were still raw in my nachos. The music is awful. The food came quick, maybe because we were the only ones here... And it was luke warm. My friend ordered the enchiladas mole, and had to ask if it was mole. The horchata was decent, and the salsa was okay too.

  • Rosalie W.

Service was sad. Our waitress seemed absentminded, even for a slow Sunday afternoon. I ordered a couple of tacos with skirt steak and decided I wanted a side of sour cream. By the time she finally brought my side of sour cream, my food had cooled, and the side of sour cream was about 10oz. Way more than necessary! When the bill came I saw they charged me $2.25 for the sour cream and asked if they could take it off the bill or lessen it, as NOBODY needs a side that large. She said she could ask, but to no surprise came back and said there was nothing she could do and apologized. An apology is acceptable if you've done anything to mend the situation, but a bill of $20 for two tacos, a drink, and a container of sour cream is ridiculous. Never returning.

I have been here twice and each time the service has been impeccable. We had George this time and he was the absolute best! It was my birthday and he made it a great experience! The chunky guacamole is fantastic and their combinations are the best. Highly recommend for a week night dinner!

Pros: Very friendly staff, over the top great customer service. Almost what you'd expect at a 5 star restaurant. Great Happy Hour deals on food and Drinks. Lots of TV's. Cons: Prices are slightly high on the regular menu. A little loud. Conclusion: A great spot centrally located in the heart of downtown vancouver. Great for happy hr or meeting a client. Also, not a bad choice to watch a game as they've loaded the place with flat screens. It has a nice updated atmosphere, above average food with an emphasis on good service. I'd label it as my first choice for Mexican food in Downtown Vancouver.

  • Tiffany M.

So first let me say the Margarita's were good. We were going to eat, but because the prices were the highest I have seen compared to most Mexican Restaurants, we decided to pass. We just stayed for drinks, salsa, and bean dip. The salsa and beans were awesome and maybe the food would have been to, but to steep for Mexican food. The place was completely empty, so I am assuming I might not be the only one who thinks this. Maybe I'll try at a future date, or during happy hour, if they have one.

Decent sports bar slash tequila joint. They have the 910 Justin Timberlake tequila which cracked us up! My husband thought it was fake but no. There are at least seven wide screen HD TVs in the restaurant playing live sporting events. We got to see Collazo beat Sanchez! Fun!! Plus the margaritas are the size of my bathtub so you know it is going to be a good night...

This is the most Americanized Mexican food that I have ever had. We sat at the bar for our service and it was fairly loud around 600pm and they were moderately busy. It quieted down considerably by the time we left around 900pm. The cocktails were good but the service at the bar was practically non-existent. While they were attempting to pace things, they ended up pacing it too slow and we were left without drinks or a chance to order for long periods of time. Once something was ordered, it was received quickly however. The food was astoundingly bad. If this place isn't a chain, I would be surprised. I would actually go to Taco Bell before I went back to this place. It was overpriced and just plain bad. The beans tasted like they came out of a can. The rice looked authentic but tasted bland. The salsa tasted like it came from a jar and the portion was skimpy. We do not indulge after a few initial bites so I don't know if they are forthcoming with refills. I ordered the chicken/steak combination fajitas which felt fitting for the atmosphere. It's definitely slanted towards a tex-mex feel. The pieces of steak were so small you had to pick them out with one tine of the fork. There was more chicken but it was all greasy and overdone. The onions and peppers were cooked within an inch of their life. The corn tortillas were bland and tasteless and oversteamed. It's too expensive for families so the only audience I could see coming to this restaurant are people who work nearby. It wouldn't be a bad place for a drink after work.

This is our third time going here. We should have stopped after the second time. The first time we went it was great service and we felt like it was possibly some of the best service we've ever had. The food was okay, we are from the southwest so we are a bit spoiled. Tonight the service was horrible!! Our waiter got our order wrong while he was trying to up sell us more food. They brought our fajitas out without tortillas. That's pretty pointless. He decided to NEVER check in on us. I ran out of water several times. He probably didn't like us because we split a meal, and didn't get drinks. Then the bill came and they added on charges without telling us it would be more for tortillas (we never got charged before for said tortillas) Bummer. Thought we found our new Mexican restaurant in the Couve. I'll stick to my food at home.

Huge gut bomb with bubbling gas belly later. On a Friday night, the acoustics were so bad that dinner was awkward with much yelling across the table and still not being able to carry a convo. A person with hearing aides would be miserable at Jorge's. Bland rice, unremarkable food in any way. Machos Gracias is better. About 20% higher price than most Mexi food and I really don't mind paying well for GOOD food but this is not good.

complete lack of service. we were served margaritas when we arrived and the waiter took a full hour to come back to get our appetizer order. three employees standing around doing nothing and can't even get plates, silverware, or a water refill. Please correct service

I wanted something light so I got the chicken tostada. It was severely basic and something anyone can make at home. The corn tortilla was overly fried and tasteless, and about 60% of the dish was shredded iceberg lettuce. There weren't any special seasonings or sauces. And it was over $10. Fail. My husband got the fajita burrito which he liked, and after I tasted it I had to agree it wasn't bad. It seems the food on their menu is hit or miss. The chips and salsa weren't anything to be excited over. I'm beginning to think that I have been spoiled living elsewhere where there are mexican restaurants galore and that the 'Couve is lacking in this category. Another thing that I found quite irritating was the apparel of the young server girl. Every time she barely bent over to set down or pick up a dish her bright pink thong underwear came out of her tight white jeans for all to see. Very unprofessional.

The Jorge's Margarita is out of this world, and it's huge! Hand-made with muddled limes, just delicious! Don't be fooled by their happy hour margarita that is not as good. Their house anejo is very smooth, but a little steep at $15 a drink. The fajitas are my favorite in Vancouver. Their enchiladas are very good. I've tried a few of their burritos which are quite large and delicious. Their wait-staff is very nice and always take good care of us.

Bottom Line at the Top: Add a star if your just here for the happy hour, as they did offer a good margarita deal. Overall I felt the prices for the food seemed a bit high, sure they are in the downtown but just 5 blocks away is El Presidente that has just about the same quality of food at about 20% cheaper prices. Now One thing that they do have here is added TVs making it more sports barish, and the furnishings are newer. Staff was pleasant and cheerful and the place seemed to have a right compliment of workers to patrons. Food when ordered did arrive in a good time frame. I did like the chicken in the enchilada I had, but the beans and rice were bland. I could use a bit more heat in both so I poured some of the salsa onto them. I would say if you need a casual place to meet a client or workmates for lunch or happy hour this place could work as there should be something on the menu for everyone and nothing should challenge any tastebuds.

Let me start off by saying, I'm sure I will return here- but it won't be for the customer service. I've been here 3-4 times, and each time I have had a completely lackluster experience. On one occasion, I attended a retirement party for a coworker. The restaurant was contacted at least a week prior to the event, I believe. There were maybe 20 or so in our group- which is a large group, to be fair. We had tables reserved in a corner of the restaurant. That was nice. The not so nice part was the fact that the staff hardly checked in on us. One person in our group had to remind the server to bring them their order after everyone else had received their drinks/food. No water was refilled the entire 2 hours we were there. No one checked in to see if we wanted more drinks. When we got our bills, three of us in the group had our orders all mixed up and they had to try three times to ring us up for the appropriate amount. I understand that there were a lot of us which didn't help the fact that it was a Friday night, but you would think that since they knew such a large group was coming, they would have planned ahead and scheduled extra staff. On my latest visit, the service was just as terrible. When my group and I walked in, the host did not even make eye contact, just gave us a dull "hello" while he was reading something. Again, no water was given to us. There was no checking in on us. The thing that this place has going for them is happy hour. I can get a giant quesadilla and a house margarita for around $10. It's a pretty decent value and the drinks are well made. The food is good as well. Not mind blowing, but good for happy hour value. I have gone outside of happy hour however, and would not do so again. Full priced items are not worth it. Like I said, I will be back here I'm sure (for happy hour only), but the restaurant definitely has a lot of room for improvement from a service standpoint.

Great place, love the atmosphere. I came in with my infant daughter (just the two of us) for dinner. The staff was really accommodating. We were seated quickly and our server Amalia was very helpful in suggesting food options. I was blown away by the number of choices of enchiladas they had. We ended up sharing the enchiladas blancas ( I am sure I spelt that wrong). They were excellent.

Stellar service, solid happy hour menu. The staff is attentive, kind and knowledgable. Nachos were the perfect size, not overly huge like they can be other places. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my experience here.

We had a large group here, and they accommodated us very well. We all got appetizers to share which were delicious. They have the typical Mexican food for decent prices. Their margaritas are huge, and they make their own tequila which is great. Best Mexican food in downtown Vancouver.

Excellent service and food margaritas supreme very nice staff from California would definitely recommend again to anyone visiting on not

To their credit, I can see how this might be a good spot for Happy Hour if you're only looking for drinks with chips & salsa. It has that "Just stepped off a cruise ship into a touristy Mexican Spring Break hotspot" feel to it.

Ehhhh serviced sucked. Sizzling fajitas wasn't sizzling but was warm as it came to the table. No water refills. Long time wait refill on corn tortilla. Good size portion. Food was tasteless. Would not go back.

LOVE THIS PLACE! I've been here quite a few times and it's been a great experience all around. I've been to the Tequila Factory downtown and the Margarita Factory on Mill Plain. I love both places! The drinks are amazing. Great variety, good prices and definitely not weak drinks. The food is great too, fairly priced. The environment is loud but I love loud places and it's a lot of fun there.

It's ok i have had better food at other places. The portions are HUGE!!!! DO NOT FILL UP ON CHIPS!!!!!! AND IT IS LOUD EXPECT TO YELL TO TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS/FAMILY!!!!! I would have rather tried woodies tacos around the corner instead. But i was with a group and couldn't chose where i wanted to go.

Very NICE staff Amalia was the best. Food was hot, fresh and Delish! Chips kept coming and the servings were huge. If you leave hungry you have an incredible size tummy!

Strange place with either too much or not enough thought put into it. Seafood burrito was SO salty I couldn't eat it. When we first arrived the previous parties check was still on the table. Had to wait at least 10min just for water. Guac was good. Salsa was good. Drinks were EXPENSIVE! Nice girls dressed like strippers. My dad & I got a kick out of it. Just a lot of waiting, sodium and eye candy really. They have a lot of kinks to work out in their methods but it should be a moderately successful place bc they have the right idea in general and a great location. Definitely exemplifies the couve w its chaos, lack of thought/planning and spastic ambitions.

Jorge and the staff are really great and friendly! They have an excellent tequila selection and great margarita prices for happy hour. The only thing I would improve is more of a selection of happy hour foods.

Great staff!!! One of the best margarita's I've ever had. I had the chicken enchiladas and they were perfect. I must go back and sample every margarita concoction they have!!!!

  • Jordan S.

This whole place was terrible. There was loud club music playing the whole time, and the entire restaurant smelled like jello shots. The food, as well as the margaritas were mediocre at best. I was told they were blended. When I got mine, it was frothy and watery and there was hardly any alcohol in it. When I was finished with my meal, I waited on the check. And waited. And no one came. I finally had to stop someone and tell them to get it for me. My waiter was nowhere to be found. Once I got the check, it took a good 25 minutes for someone to come around and get it, and I had to flag down someone again.

Drinks, chips, salsa are good. Food is greasy and bland. But it's a nice place to go to grab a drink.

Vancouver needed this place so bad, great food, great drinks and the best service at a Mexican restaurant I've seen. Place can get crazy busy.

One of the best restaurants in downtown Vancouver! Love the food. Ask for the hot salsa!! Staff knew me after a couple of times. Promptly get my favorites. Jorgita Margarita and Chile verde. You may even get to see Jorge working magic behind the bar! Plus the plates take up half the table packed with good food. I have never been disappointed.

    (5)
  • Ricki C.

Very very yummy drinks! I've noticed on my last few visits however, that the service has lacked. The salsa isn't filled as much as prior visits and it's hard to flag down the waiter for more or to ask for a water. The food has always been good though a bit pricey. El Presidente is a few blocks away with a great waitstaff, stuff drinks and fairly priced delicious food. With that said I still enjoy Jorge's every now and then for the margaritas on happy hour and chips.

  • Jonathan Y.

Pretty good Mexican food for the price. I had the shrimp fajitas which were really tasty and the shrimp wasn't overcooked (a plus). The refried beans were some of the best I've ever had, we ate wayyy too many of them. All in all, a good option if you are looking for Mexican. They also have really large Margaritas which my wife loved.

  • Sueann R.

A little bit pricey and inside is really noisy so we sat outside. My drink was really sugary but they have a great tequila list. Food was pretty good we will come back

  • Diem M.

This place blew me away! I thought the food would be mediocre like most Mexican places I go to--but the shredded beef was delicious. The salsa is fresh and chips were delicious. Service was good and our servers helped us find a good cha cha club. The drinks were bar non comparable to the best portland has to offer like the Driftwood bar. The Sangria is home made and actually a recipe from a buddy in cancun according to our server. Highly recommend anything here. Im from San Diego and my expectations for Mexican food are high. This place is good, great decor and great food and drinks. Come here at least once and see for yourself.

Food just wasn't good, and our waitress was snotty and dressed in clothing that both showed her midriff and was so tight that her thing was visible through her skirt. Her arguably inappropriate clothing had nothing to do with the food, of course. I love Mexican food, and this was hands down the worst I've had in the downtown area. Even the chips and salsa were subpar.

  • Dave M.

Met a few friends here for a birthday get together. The service was good but the food was not that great. Not much on the menu under $15. For the money we were not impressed. I would rather eat at Muchas. The drink menu had so much going on it took forever to figure out what we wanted. Also, no prices listed on the drink menu so you either look like a cheapskate asking what each drink costs or they charge you whatever they want. We let them charge us what they wanted and they wanted a lot. It was an expensive night for us for some mediocre food and a couple good drinks. Our experience wasn't terrible but we won't be going back.

  • Debbie D.

When this restaurant originally opened I gave it 4+stars. Since then, food has been okay but ho-hum and I think they've run out of tequila for their margaritas.

    (3)
  • Krishta A.

Two of us ordered the lunch chicken fajitas. Our waitress asked if we would like the Fajitas for two instead of separate entrees. "Why not" we thought. The bill came and they were $6 more expensive than the two separate entrees. We felt duped. The food was also not good. The fajitas had an odd, sweet flavor that was pretty inedible and loaded with tomatoes with which we asked not to have any. Not a good first experience at all. Guess we should have had the tequila and made it a liquid lunch instead.

Drinks and food were good but a little pricey. Chips and salsa were bottomless, and very good IMO. Staff was very helpful, friendly. Management apparently only hires great looking employees. Lots of eye candy

Went here to watch some football and have dinner. Really really slow service. Upon seating, I asked if there were any drink specials because it was happy hour. The waitress stared at me and said yeah, we've got margaritas and beer. I don't order just "beer" so I asked what beers they had on special... this server had a really difficult time doing more than one task at a time. it literally took 30-45 minutes in between each drink. My friend and I were there for 3 hours and I had three beers. It took 15 minutes to pay and she dropped off someone else's credit card at our table. At least the enchiladas were good. At the end of the night, our server said she had problems doing more than one thing at a time that night. I seriously think she was high on something.

I've been here twice, and while I truly hate to give a restaurant a bad review (not to go into the "I've worked in the service industry, blah blah blah... Business), the only reason Jorge's is getting two stars is because of the mediocre first visit. But onto the second. Three of us arrived at around 4:15 for some margaritas and happy hour food. Because of my finicky boyfriend, we had skipped past the more crowded (but probably way better) Woody's around the corner to come here. The bar was packed but the the dining room was empty besides a group of 4. The hostess, a little blonde thing (not to stereotype, I'm really sure she was hired for her stellar vocabulary) informed us, quite rudely, that the bar was open seating but she could seat us on the other side. Having two hungry man-children with me, we opted to just take the dining room. I wish we had looked harder in the bar. One guy came up and gave us chips and salsa. Awesome. He asked if we wanted guacamole. My friend said yes. He said something else which none of us could really hear, and my friend said ok (so our bad. I'll take that one). Then he was gone. Another guy came over to take our drink order, which I got a house margarita (really very good if you want a run of the mill 'rita). Then he was gone. Margarita guy came over, took our order, and we asked for chips and salsa. I then informed him we were missing the guac we had ordered from #1. He said he'd check. By this time the ravenous duo had chowed thru the first batch of chips and salsa. A third employee, a girl, came over and asked if we would like more chips and salsa. We said sure and away she went. Soon she returned with a plate of some sort of avocado/tomato mixture - no chips, no salsa. Nbd. Except we didn't want that. And had no chips to dip. When we questioned her she said "...oh...no!" So I just said I would take it and she could just bring another order of guac to my friend (who didn't want avocado, just guac. Go figure.) And away she went. Finally a fourth guy came by with some more chips and salsa, and she showed back up with some guac a few minutes after. I will say at this point it appeared to be slowly filling up, maybe half the tables were full. However there also appeared to be many more staff members arriving. So then the food arrives. Happy hour portions are small, I get it, but a little pricey for what you get. Nbd. About the time our food came, I finished my margarita. Awesome. I figure the waiter will stop by to check to make sure the busboy brought everything correctly (especially because something was incorrect and we told him about it). This is the point where I stop holding management responsible for a shitty staff as a whole and look directly to the server. He walked directly passed our table three times. Three! Made eye contact twice! And I still had to raise my voice (embarrassing for everyone involved) to ask for another one?? I already have alcoholic tendencies. The entire restaurant doesn't need to know. Oh, and the screw up on my friends order? Never resolved. He was charged and extra $4 and the avocado dip stuff I didn't want was SEVEN DOLLARS. Went out for happy hour, total bill for three people was $58. Based on service alone I will stay away from here. Prices are prices, no one that works there can control that. But they are the ones who can make my dining experience awesome or crappy and it's disappointing how crappy this experience was. Oh, side note... When we first got there I asked the server if he had the ability to change one of the tvs to ESPN. He said "of course!" Well, by the time we left all the tvs were still on encore sports (?) and I missed Syracuse lose to NC State. So a little butthurt about that as well. Sorry about the novel but if I give less than three stars it's important for me to explain why.

I drive by this place everyday and have never really thought or cared to go here. Finally decided I'd check it out, and I was not disappointed. The staff was very welcoming and helpful and explained the food to me that I had questions about and were very accommodating. I feeling in the mood for an enchilada, and am very ignorant in my knowledge of enchilada information. I highly recommend the King Enchilada, which is an enchilada with green sauce stuffed with King Crab, with the habanero salsa. It was so good that even a few hours I left I was still thinking about how good it was. The chips and salsa that they give you were also quite good. Then I got to the dessert. If you like cheesecake, order the Mexican cheesecake. It's mind blowing. The only thing I didn't like about there was the Corona with lime I got. The lime was super intense, but that's not their fault. The atmosphere was also fun. Football was on and was a fun addition. Highly recommend this place and will definitely come back.

Awesome location and great ambience. I'm a huge Mexican food fan and the food here was fantastic! Loved the chips and salsa even. Staff was more than friendly and we got everything we ordered quickly and efficiently, without mistake. Top notch service. I was hugely impressed with everything. Very clean, very fun. I bet it's even better for dinner or happy hour!

Went there with my son for dinner, we had been looking forward to our dinner since it had opened. The restaurant was not busy and the service from the bartender was fine, our server on the other hand was slow, slow, slow and could not seem to do anything in a gear other than snails pace Our waiter had about 5 tables at the very most. We waited 10 minutes for a side of sour cream, our tortillas that were part of our dinner came later, much later after asking twice. We then had dirty plates left on our table and another of the wait staff finally got our bill 10 minutes after we asked our original waiter. More than likely will not be back, our bill with 1 large drink each and 1 dinner entree each was over $60.00.

This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Vancouver. The service is outstanding and the food is muy bueno. The house margaritas are very fairly priced and are as big as my head. I went there a couple of Tuesdays ago for dinner and drinks with some friends. We all thought it was very nice and clean inside as well as a fun atmosphere. I had a coupon from the Vancouver Payback book for Jorge's Margarita Factory (owned by the same people) the coupon said Mill Plain only, but when I asked to use it was a definite yes. Anytime I can spend less on food and more on booze is good in my book.

Not a fan of their Mexican food, honestly. I would choose Who Song and Larrys over this place any day. I didn't drink for the 10 months I was pregnant, and the first drink I had was a margarita at this place... and it didn't even get me BUZZED! ...Now that's a WEAK drink. Very disappointing.

popped in here to check out what Jorge's was all about. Friendly waitress took time to explain a little about the restaurant and other's that they run. The waiter who served us in the bar was friendly and professional. We got great service. The 16oz happy hour margarita was fantastic. And the happy hour quesadilla was also quite tasty. I would definitely go back and recommend this place. It's nice to see Vancouver getting more upscale establishments like this one.

Jorge's was FABULOUS! Our party of two sat @ the bar for lunch on a Friday afternoon around noon. The dining arena was buzzing; the bar and lounge played host to maybe 5 others. The service was magnificent! Wait staff members were super accommodating and totally attentive. For drinks we had had a small mango margarita (which was by no means small) and two Dos Equis drafts. Neither of us was incredibly hungry. We struck gold with Jorge's Chunky Quac, as suggested by the bartender, and, the Lunch Menu Chicken Taquitos ($10.99). Their Chunky Mexican Quacamole ($6.99) was out-of-this-world aMMMazing. It completely filled a regular sized dinner plate! Chips were endless, warm and colorful! The Chicken Taquitos were the size of small burritos w/shredded chicken and cheese. Eight total. And, presented on a large serving plate w/lettuce, tomato, sour cream and smooth guac. Impressive. As far as authentic Mexican concerned; this place has it! I've tried so many Mexican restaurants in the area, and, NONE compare. The food was amazing. Drinks loaded. Service was fabulous. And, the prices are just right!

I don't know what the other people are talking about but I had the best experience here at this restaurant. I'm from Los Angeles an I have to say its nice to have a good restaurant who serves fun and beautiful drinks and shots! The shredded beef was my favorite. You have to try whatever it is that you like with it! Our servers were courteous and extremely attentive. No matter what time of day you come, it will always be amazing. Love the Halloween decor going on right now.

I went to Jorge's with group of friends and were greeted and seated right away. Our sever, drinks and food were all above what we were expecting. The menu prices were a little high, but after getting our food we were all amazed by the amount we received and the freshness and quality of our meals. I would recommend this place to anybody who likes good food and drinks, we will all be going back.

I've been here about 5 times both lunch and dinner every time the service has been fast and friendly. Food is above average, wide variety of drinks and great atmosphere. Definitely one of the top three downtown bar/restaurants. Azada burrito was xlnt

While the food was satisfactory, happy hour margarita was fine, my issue with this place would be it's accessibility. The staff seem completely bewildered as how to seat someone in a wheelchair. The grossly tight table placement makes even the movement for those walking a challenge. The outdoor seating is not accessible to someone in a wheelchair and the handicapped stall in the bathroom is adequate but seriously lacking in space needed for easy movement. I have no idea how the owners get away with this type of packing of a restaurant. It has to be a fire hazard let alone a complete oversight to the basic needs of anyone confined to wheelchair. The ONLY saving grace for my evenings experience was one of the employees there. Catherine was beyond considerate and made every effort to assist me as I struggled getting around in the restaurant. It is a shame that the owners of this place are not as concerned for the well being of their customers as Catherine was/is. I will most likely never be back and highly considering looking into the ADA regulations to see how many violations this place has got to be racking up. Shame on this place!!!

The atmosphere is nice, the waitresses were helpful. My wife loved their Tortilla Soup and I must agree it was good. I had the Macho Burrito; unfortunately, I was less than pleased. Although it was presented well on the plate, I found the meat far too salty, as was the sauce and the dollop of guacamole on top of the burrito. The salsa truly isn't a salsa. It would be better described as tomato sauce with a lot of cumin and a little of their picante mixed in; I didn't care for it. The drinks were huge and very delicious (I substitued the standard C Gold for Casadores). There are few here in the Pacific Northwest that know good Mexican food. I've been afforded the opportunity to experience GREAT Mexican foo both in Mexico and the U.S.A. so I'm unsure if I would return to it.

A little pricey for average Mexican Food, tortilla chips were stale, pico de gallo did not look appetizing, like it had been sitting out to long, but serving staff was friendly and attentive. Food over all, let me just say I have had better for half the price. Also a Tequila bar, that did not offer flights of tequila. Nice place for drinks, if the music wasn't so loud.

This is a great restaurant, so great that I started to come multiple times a week. The chips & salsa are great, especially the habanero one. I wouldn't recommend coming as much as I did because it does get old and I don't enjoy it nearly as much anymore.

The food was disappointing. The onions were still raw in my nachos. The music is awful. The food came quick, maybe because we were the only ones here... And it was luke warm. My friend ordered the enchiladas mole, and had to ask if it was mole. The horchata was decent, and the salsa was okay too.

We had a large group here, and they accommodated us very well. We all got appetizers to share which were delicious. They have the typical Mexican food for decent prices. Their margaritas are huge, and they make their own tequila which is great. Best Mexican food in downtown Vancouver.

To their credit, I can see how this might be a good spot for Happy Hour if you're only looking for drinks with chips & salsa. It has that "Just stepped off a cruise ship into a touristy Mexican Spring Break hotspot" feel to it.

A little bit pricey and inside is really noisy so we sat outside. My drink was really sugary but they have a great tequila list. Food was pretty good we will come back

Okay so I returned to see if they could redeem themselves from their past mistake. The service was fantastic and food was just as good. I will be returning.

Food was good, tasted fresh and the portions were large. Service was excellent, very attentive servers. Will Definitely be coming back!

When this restaurant originally opened I gave it 4+stars. Since then, food has been okay but ho-hum and I think they've run out of tequila for their margaritas.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
