It was a great day when I heard we have Du's in Vancouver! I've been in several times with out incident and loved the salad and chicken. Yesterday I went in for lunch ordered the chicken salad and a side of shrimp. The guy at the cash register not only was socially awkward but seemed to have trouble with counting change and knowledge of menu and prices and generally getting it together. When I was brought out my salad I noticed a hair on the chicken. I told the same guy about this, he grabs a coulple of napkins from the dispenser and was making a move like he was going to just take the piece of chicken from my plate that had the hair, OMG! I squawked about this and he said he would make me a new plate. After sitting a few minutes I decided I wasnt hungry and should leave. I went to get my money back and also told the guy I couldnt believe he was just going to have me keep the same plate! ughh. He didnt really want to give me my money back and said he had a new plate coming, NOT my problem. I should have been offered my money back and the food in the first place! Was not his first day either! Jen

This place may become a regular lunch place for me and my boyfriend. Very good char grill chicken teriyaki and very good, almost perfect, sticky rice. My boyfriend and I both agree that we enjoyed everything and we are excited to try more menu items. He did not like the salad dressing but thats no big surprise as he only likes ranch. I found the salad dressing to be very tasty and I even drizzled a little on my chicken as well as some extra teriyaki sauce. They bring out bottles of sauce for you to add at your pleasure. Thw only reason why I gave this place 4 stars is because of the air fresheners I kept getting a whiff of over the course of our meal. Over all I am very happy with my visit.

I have been eating at this Owner's Du's for over 10 years. I was so happy to have found out they relocated just down the street from my work in Vancouver, WA. Of all the Du's in PDX- this one has the best tasting food. Their poppy seed dressing is to die for! My favorite, the teriyaki chicken salad with a side of rice! Going there now! YUM!

Not the best, but good for the neighborhood. I had the chicken bento box, very generous portions, the chicken was nicely charred but still moist. The rice was perfect and the spring roll and potstickers where fried to a delicate crispness and serviced with a great dipping sauce, also the kimchee was flavor-able but not to hot. BUT, the slices of California roll, did not have a fresh taste, almost like they contained old artificial crab (not sure). And the teriyaki sauce for the chicken had a slight off taste (kind of like a cleanser). My guess is, their menu offerings are to vast for the limited foot traffic of the neighborhood. Du needs to slim the menu so inventory is smaller and freshness can be budgeted. With a few fixes, Du's could be a great little hole-in-the-wall.

The Wife and have been going to Du's for about 15 years, when we lived in St. Johns it was a staple back in our single, dating, no kid days. Today we have a kid, a kid who loves the heck out of Teriyaki. Our good fortune was when we found out that Du's made the move across the river. The menu has expanded a little, and that makes me a little sad because what they had was perfect and expanding the menu could make some things suffer. Luckily, the basics, the teriyaki plates has remained amazing. Service is the same as ever, friendly and efficient and the prices are very reasonable. On the handicapped access it pains me to give them a D. The parking area is small and there are no marked handicapped spaces. The step up from the parking lot to the curb is high and the ramp is a ways from the door. Once inside there is plenty of room for wheeled devices and walkers to work around.

Certainly the same good food they served when in N. Portland, but the amount they give you has certainly changed. When ordering the teriyaki, you used to get so much you had to take some with for later. The portions, at least this day, have definitely greatly decreased. I loved this place when it was closer by in N. Portland. But the combo of it being a lot further and also getting less food, does not encourage me to return soon.

I used to live blocks away from du's grill on Sandy in Portland. It was and currently still is my favorite place to eat. When I found this place by my current house I had to try it. The first time I walked in there, out of the few times that I did, I asked if they were affiliated with the Du's in Portland they said, "yes yes we are the same." With my meal they also brought out a free egg roll. At this point I'm in love, it definitely wasn't as good as the place in Portland but I could settle, I was weirded out that the menu was extremely larger than the others. I was in Portland visiting friends and we decided to go to Du's Grill. I ended up asking them when they build a second restaurant. They proceeded to inform me that they have no connection what so ever with Du's Teriyaki. Since then I have not stepped foot in this one and will gladly make the drive to the original Du's Grill.

Best teriyaki around by far. Very original taste and decent price for their meals. The place is clean, has friendly owners and stays open till 8pm, think website says 9pm but seen sign today that said 8pm, call to be sure.

I've had food in a lot of Teriyaki places but this by far is the best. The place doesn't look like much but the food is simply awesome.

My first time here, and I was impressed with the friendliness! I believe it is family run. I ordered Beef & Shrimp Teriyaki to go, and ate at my workplace. Upon opening the bag, it seems a hole was in my styrofoam to go box, as there was a significant amount of sauce running everywhere outside the box. I wasn't really impressed, but accidents happen, and I assumed maybe something hot in the kitchen came in contact with it. I let it go. Now on to the beef and shrimp. One word: AMAZING! I can't believe the teriyaki sauce they used, better than any I've tasted here in the couv! Definitely will come here again, as once I started eating, I instantly forgot about the sauce running everywhere on the table. I simply will check for holes before I leave next time, and believe me, there will be a next time. 10/10

My chicken yakisoba was repulsive. There was so much sauce that I literally could not see the noodles. I had to fish them up with a fork. The noodles were tough, and there were barely any stir fried veggies. I couldn't even finish the food, it was that bad. Not sure what people's standards for food are, but this place not good at all. Do yourself a favor and move on.

TLDR version: Great food, but HORRIBLE staff. I went here for lunch with some co-workers, since one of them has been raving about the delicious teriyaki here. She ordered her usual chicken teriyaki, but myself and another coworker ordered other things on the menu. It was disastrous. I ordered beef yakisoba, by name, by number, and by pointing at the picture. I received beef and chicken teriyaki. I asked about my noodles and the waitress got very defensive and was like, "What? You want your money back?" I informed her that I only wanted the dish I ordered, and eventually she agreed to bring me some yakisoba. When my entree finally came out, it was noodles, but still not what I had initially ordered (veggie yakisoba, vice beef). I was fed up with dealing with the unhelpful staff, and didn't even bother trying to get the $2 difference between the dishes back :/ My co-worker had similar issues with his order, and, gave up after multiple attempts to correct the problem. The food, thankfully, was pretty tasty, even if it wasn't what I ordered. If you're willing to risk slip-ups in ordering, or if you like rolling the dice to decide your dinner choice, then this place is worth a visit.

Food is tasty and what you expect from a chicken teriyaki spot. It is nice to have this option in Vancouver. So far the crazy crowds from down at the Freddie's strip mall have not overrun this place. Lots of options and prepared well. Good value for the money. Not huge on ambiance but clean and quick service.

Food was pretty delish. Not a long wait for decent teriyaki. The lady at the front desk was super polite. This review was in drafts from a while back.

Good fresh food. Owners are great. Du's used to be in Portland and if you look up the reviews their reputation is outstanding. It's hard for small businesses to stay open without a loyal following. Become a regular. You won't be disappointed.

I've been looking for a go to terriyaki place ever since moving back to vancouver. A coworker suggested Du's. I can tell you it's worth the drive. The pork is so tender you need not use a knife. The service is fast. Good portion sizes. A true hole in the wall place. To miss this place it would be a shame.

If I had to judge on personality and service, the man at the counter was very pleasant and accommodating. The food seemed a little tasteless; not that it was bad, but the chicken didn't seem to have enough teriyaki on and the rice had some sort of higher or jasmine, something was with it when it was made. It was filling and fast so if you're in a hurry give it a whirl. I'll try anything twice, so let's "Du" me again.
