Service, Gratitude, Hospitality gets 5stars. Customer Service was spot on, wish I could say the same for their food. I had the four rib pack I was excited to dive in and eat. I was on the run so I had to take it to go. Once I took a bite of one rib it was dry and crunchy seemed like I was chewing on bark. Grabbed another piece then another my entire rib snack was bark covered in bbq sauce I couldn't believe how terrible the ribs were I was hoping for tender, fall off the bone deliciousness. But all I got was burnt pieces. The potato salad was the best thing but how can you mess that up. The cornbread muffin was dry & lacked moistness, and had an odd after taste. I would have driven back too complain but I was too far from the destination. From this experience it would be a hard sell for me to return. I would not suggest going here. It's sad to say because we do not have many soul food places in the region because a bulk of well known places i.e. Catfish Corner, Silver Fork, & Kingfish Cafe have closed their doors. Any advice would be for Southern Grill to taste their product before serving.

The oxtail here was totally worth the wait. The taste on the ribs was good, and I didn't have the dry experience the other reviewer did. I love southern food so finding this place near work seemed like a great pair up. Corn bread could use a bit of work as it was a bit dry. Yams were good and collared greens tasted just a bit too healthy, but still can't get enough of that kind of food.

I work nearby, called in a lunch order around 1:45 pm. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich w/potato salad. It was ready very quickly, went in and picked up my food. The place was clean, nice. The staff was friendly! The food was great! Delicious!! The sandwich was perfect. Will be back!!

I've been to Southern Grill on many occasions and the food is always great. The service is very welcoming and gives that southern comfort feel. Ive tried many items on the menu but I would have to say I enjoy the pulled pork sandwich the most. The food is always fresh and hot so it gives me comfort knowing im getting my money's worth and great food.

I always have a great time here. Food has been on point. I had the ribs and it was tender and fallen off the bone. The service it always up bet and with great hospitality. The potato pie is my favorite desert and the chef there knocked it out of the park. Great job!!!!

Stopped in to pick up some quick lunch... I'm not sure why I waited so long to try this place! I ordered the Oxtails and Rice, with yams (and cornbread). It is all sooo tasty. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

After being there I am looking forward to going back and trying out the burger the owner boasted about. This trip I stuck with the BBQ chicken sandwich and a side of fries. The chicken had just the right amount of sauce and spice and the toasted bun was a great touch. The hand cut fries were very good and cooked perfectly. Others in the group had the pulled pork sandwich and ribs with no complaints at all. The service was great and we will be back.

Oh my goodness the wait is well worth it . Fried chicken made to order . Absolutely delicious and I love the vibe here . I literally felt so comfortable eating here almost like having a home cooked meal lol I wanted to take me shoes off lol the people here are so sweet !!! Potatoe salad on point , Mac and cheese on point . Lol I have to make a second order while I eat so I can take home to my daughter to have some . It's that great ! I'm big supporting local restaurant owners . No regrets coming here today :)

Ordered 2 piece chicken with a side...i got my side of greens, GREATEST greens I have EVER ate! Wow!! My husband had baked beans, what do they put in this stuff?! This is GREAT! Great food, great atmosphere! Will DEFINITELY be back again!!! Two thumbs up!

Ox Tails, rice, collard greens and cornbread are the best that I have ever eaten, I drive all the way from Tacoma just for this trio and believe me it is well worth it. Warm and friendly atmosphere makes it even better.

No expert to Luisiana food but this place was great. Had the catfish and the oxtail. Both were delicious. Service was very personable which I appreciate. Will definitely be back for the fried chicken and Mac n Cheese.

The vibe is very much old school southern grill. The cook even came out and greeted us and hoped we enjoyed our food, which we completely did. There was the perfect amount of smoky sweet goodness with just enough heat to make it crave-able. They have all the sides you could ask for and their staff makes you feel welcome like you are part of the family. I just wish they were open more because I left looking forward to the next visit.

UPDATE: Tried the Oxtails and rice, also available on Fridays. It's meatfalloffthebone goodness. Of course, I got more hushpuppies, which are deep fried balls of pure delciousness. The people running this place are good down home friendly folks, and they enjoy making the awesome food you will eat. Support them. This place is great. They need a better sign, the place is easy to miss, but look for the van out front with the banner on it.

This place is a new cool little bbq joint in tukwila. Simple no frills atmosphere with a pretty rockin selection of flavorful southern goodness. I had the ribs with a side of beans and cornbread. Good portion for the price and the flavor of all was excellent. The cornbread was a more dry crumbly style which is not my favorite, but wasn't terrible either. The owner took great pride in his menu and was a joy to speak to. I'll be back for sure.

One of the best burgers I have ever had! The menu has collard greens, black eye peas, fried okra! Cat fish on Tuesdays and Fridays, pulled pork. The folks working here are so nice and welcoming. You gotta get here early though or they may run out of their freshly made fare. I gotta get back here!!

Being that im a chef i am Always looking for the next best thing when it come to soul food here know Seattle. And now there is southern grill in tukwila. You walk in and you are greeted my the smell of the smoker and great staff. After a long Look at the menu I decided to get ribs and coleslaw. Which was good the only problem I had was I like my sauce on the side when it comes to my ribs and the slaw was dry. I will go back and try their chicken that they only sale Monday Thur Thursday. And then they have catfish Friday. So this here review is To Be Continue.....
