Sorci's is a little gem in Sumner. All the food options are fresh and delicious. All the wait staff are friendly and have brilliant suggestions. My husband and I had the Stuffed Avocado (which is amazing! slightly baked, stuffed with olive tapanade and feta) and Lamb Chops which were both on special, so the menu rotates to what is fresh at the time.

Have to share the great experiences I've had here! First I came to dinner here with 14 women for a birthday dinner. You know the drill. There were 14 of us. So lets be honest, we are no doubt on the higher maintenance side, and we know it. 14 separate checks. 14 thousand questions and special order requests. What was unexpected was how well our server handled everything! I think he may be the manager but either way it was awesome service! And the food is to die for. We passed plates around, like only a table of women will do, and therefore I got to try many of the entrees. Not even one was disappointing. Fast forward to a sunny Sunday afternoon. My husband and I head in for happy hour. They have quite a few options and again everything was delicious! Same server/manager who also was behind the bar. He's definitely more mixologist than bartender! Great cocktails! Didn't even notice the back patio until we left, but I know we'll be spending some time out there this summer! It's also kid friendly so this will likely be the site of our next family dinner outing as well !

I took my friend here to celebrate a belated birthday. I had read reviews on yelp prior to going and had seen that dime people had complained about the service but given good reviews on the food. Our service was poor. If you are in a hurry or have a place to be at a certain time I wouldn't chose this place. On the flip side the good was very good! My friends lasagna was wonderful! My crab cannelloni was pretty good. Nice wine selection. So great food but poor service.

Absolutely exquisite. I absolutely love little places like this, there's impeccable attention to detail, the food was amazing the service was spot on. I truly can't say enough about this place. I just moved to the area and have been looking for a restaurant to call my home and without a doubt I just found it.

OK seriously I really don't even know where to start. I guess we'll start at service, seems as good a place as any. So I brought my mom here for mothers day dinner since we saw this place and she thought it was cute and the food smelled good. From the moment we got there we were fed excuses about how they were understaffed due to not expecting a rush of people....IT'S MOTHER'S DAY, WHY WOULD ANY RESTAURANT NOT PREPARE FOR A BUSY NIGHT?!?! So we suck it up and figure it can't be THAT bad and the food smelled like it would be worth a little bad service. My mom ordered a red wine and after the raving reviews about their wine selection I was disappointed to not find a single White Zin, or blush of any kind so I just had water. My boyfriend had a tangerine beer which was tasty. We waited roughly 5 minutes just to get menus then another 15 or so to place our order. During this time we received NO bread, and my boyfriend had to walk up to the bar to get his own second beer. I kindly asked if we were going to get some bread and again we were fed excuses about being short staffed. For dinner we order the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer, I order the Ravioli special for the night, mom has the crab manicotti and my boyfriend orders a pizza. We finally get some bread, and wait and wait and wait for our food. As to the bread quality...BLAH is putting it nicely, the only saving grace here is it is served with oil and vinegar in an attempt to make it authentic Italian. After some more waiting my mom kindly asks about our appetizer...again same excuse about being understaffed, and at this point the waitress is getting pissy and frustrated. (In all fairness if I worked for an incompetent person who can't manage an appropriate holiday employee schedule I'd be frustrated too.) When the food finally comes out it is all brought out together instead of an appetizer first. In my dismay I let out a gafaw to which the waitress states "I know a lot of food huh?", to which I reply, no and that we were expecting our appetizer to be an APPETIZER. Bet even you can guess what she blames this on at this point? Yes ladies and gentlemen that's right I get the short staffed excuse AGAIN. Now for the main course food. ALL of the pasta was under cooked and bland. I could have gotten better food at an Olive Garden. The spinach and artichoke dip was watery with very little of the crab we requested and so chunky you had to cut it prior to putting it on the accompanied bread. All and all just bad. As to the pizza, papa murphy's puts together a much more flavorful pizza!!! When we are ready to leave my mom asks to speak to the manager and I'm asked to not speak (I'm the more boisterous one and she wanted to be pleasant despite the disaster of a meal). When the owner arrived she started off by complimenting the aroma of the food and the nice employee we talked to prior to that night, then she made some constructive comments in a nice manner about the food and service. During this interaction the owner was paying no attention and pretty much checked out the minute she had negative comments. At the point my boyfriend brought up having to get his own beer, and the owner got defensive all of a sudden stating the meal would be free, we were rude and not welcome back. At no point were we ever rude yet he claimed his staff told him we were "rude all night". Since when is asking for bread and menus rude??? Toward the end of the interaction the owner went off about how this was a christian owned establishment....last I checked being christian doesn't give you the right to provide bad service and overpriced bland food without having to deal with some complaints. Nor does it give you the right to treat customers like crap for giving some constructive criticism.

My date and I had reservations on a Friday night for 8:30pm...as soon as you walk in there is no hostess stand or anything. You just walk straight into the dining room. So we waited, arrived on time for reservations, and it took at least 5-10 minutes before we were seated. Now this wouldn't be an issue if not one, not two but 5 employees asked if we'd been helped but failed to help us. So finally we are seated outside on the patio. Another 10 minutes go by...no server...no waters...the staff just running around dazed and confused. Finally our server comes to us, I ask for water. He informs us the wait for ANY food is at minimum 45 minutes to 1 hour wait. Keep in mind this place closes at 10pm. My date asked, even for appetizers? He said yes anything. He let us know that being this busy for a Friday was unusual and the staff wasn't prepared. We didn't order anything left and ended up down the road at Mama Stortinis. Had much better service and time there! I'm confused for such good reviews why is this type of restaurant prepared? I will not be returning.

This is such a lovely and cozy place! Thee inviroment is warm inviting, the owners and crew are so nice and what makes it more special it is a Christain owned restuarant. It was such a lovely experience to go in and hear Chriss Tomblin and MercyMe playing. You truly can see Christs hand all over the wonderful place. The wine selection is perfect and how lovely to have 50 flavors to choose from! I had the Pascual Toso Reserve Malbec it is a 2010 By Barrancas Vinerand yards Mendoza Argentina. When you go in order a bottle or two! The owners and staff really really and truly understand what great wine is all about! The food and service is pure perfection. We will make this our date night place all the time!

Great little place. Would definitely visit again. Highlights: Meatball sandwich Bacon Mac & Cheese - This is a must try dish! Tangerine Beer Service was great. It's a family owned restaurant so the whole family helps out. Everyone was very nice Pretty much my only complaint is that I ordered chicken for my Caesar salad and it was overcooked and a bit overpriced for what I got. But that's a minor complaint compared to everything else.

Long time customers might not like me bragging about this place. It's definitely Sumner's secret Italian restaurant. When my group and I drove up to the building we thought it was closed. It turned out that we were their first customers of the day. For about 10 minutes we were the only ones there. Our server paid extra attention to us. She was very friendly and attentive. We sat next to the window. The sun was shining through. Unfortunately there were no drapes or blinds to block out the light but we managed. Once people started showing up for lunch we all felt the cold draft when the front door opened and closed. The menu had a plentiful selection. I was thinking about getting the Minestrone but after eating bread with butter I knew I wouldn't have enough room for soup. I ordered the lasagna. It was delicious. We all enjoyed our food. By the time we got our check the place was packed. If you're in the Puyallup/Sumner area, and you're anti-Olive Garden but still love Italian food, then this might be a restaurant you'll want to try.

This would have been 5 stars but they were short staffed and it took awhile to get our dishes. HOWEVER, they gave us our first round of drinks free for the wait. The server was very nice and friendly. My husband had the lasagna and I had the the chicken pistachio pesto lasagna...both were fantastic!! Let me put this in perspective. We have been trying out one Italian restaurant every month that started back in January. So this was our 7th. So far my husband has rated this the best of all 7 for their lasagna and on tap beers. We also topped off the evening with their Emerald City Cake Balls...delish and perfect size! The wines were really good too! Especially the moscato! Make reservations for Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. We did go on a Sunday but I don't think they had anticipated how many guests would be there. That really was the only shortfall in our eyes. Go! And enjoy! It's also one of the lesser expensive places for lasagna we've been to.

My husband took me here for the first time to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary and I would like to thank all of the wait staff and the chef for making it a very memorable one. My husband knows someone that works here and he had put in a request for them to make a chicken marsala which is what I ate on our wedding night and the chef made it special for me. It was very good. They recommended as an appetizer the stuffed baked avocado and boy was it yummy. My husband had the meat raviolis and they were also very good. For dessert we had the homemade tiramisu and oh my gosh. The whole meal and evening was wonderful

Great appetizers. Pizza was overdone but still flavorful. A little slow for a lunch meal.

I went there for my birthday dinner and loved everything about it. The atmosphere is quaint and authentic. The lasagna and tiramsu were to die for!! My husband had mac n cheese and it was fantastic!

After searching the menu, I finally found something that didn't have pork in it. (I don't eat pork). If you like pork, you will find lots to choose from. I had chicken and it was quite good. The wine selection was carefully chosen and I finally decided on a cabernet that was very good. The name of the restaurant is Sorci's Italian Cafe & Enoteca (what does Enoteca mean)?

I've never actually been here. I went to a party and the hostess had ordered a pistachio-chicken lasagna from here. It just sounded strange, AND it was a white lasagna. I already had my prejudices, so I passed it up. A few minutes later the people who were eating the lasagna were quiet. Either it's really good and they busy stuffing their faces, or it's not that great and they're trying to figure out where to dump the stuff. As people began lining up for seconds, I hurriedly rushed the line being the greedy chick that I am. I can't stand the thought of missing out. I grabbed a small piece. After one bite, I realized my mistakes: 1) I should have eaten this earlier, so that I could eat two pieces. 2) My second piece was too small, and now the lasagna is gone. If this is a prelude to what's to come, I'll be there soon Sorci!

I have been to Scorci's many times. Was always super happy with the service and the food. I learned recently (on my last visit) that the restaurant has been under new ownership for just over a year. I guess I wasn't aware since I still saw the old owner all the time as he is now a server. So, back on track... I went with my husband and daughter after the Santa parade on 12/7/13. We walked in and there were only two other tables with customers. We sat and ordered apps, wine and coffee. After we had been there for about 20 minutes our server walked by and said she would check on our apps. In the meantime, a table of 25 came in. They were expecting this table as it was already set up when we walked in and they asked us if we were the first of the party to show up. We said "no, just us a party of 3". That table of 25 became much more important as they started getting their apps well before ours ever came. 40 minutes later, we cancelled our order and our server said "sorry, this is not my fault". My husband and I went to talk to who we thought was the owner and he said "sorry, this is not my fault, I'm not the owner anymore". Really??? I mean come on! We got a bill for our wine and coffee, no attempt to make our visit better and still no one willing to take responsibility. I was surprised. Shocked actually that we even got a bill for the glass of wine and coffee. My time sitting there waiting while everyone else was served is worth waay more than that. Then I started reading all the other negative posts on here. Seems as though service has gone down hill since the new owner took over. The attitude of the servers on this day was less than acceptable. I have been a server and so has my husband in the past...we get it. We also get that in a small town you better make your patrons feel welcome and that they money and time they are spending in their establishment is just as important as a table of 25. I hope Scorci's gets back on track with service.

A little gem. Met some friends here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. They have a great lunch deal with a cup of soup and half a panini. I had the minestrone and it was yummy- perfect for a nice crisp day. Paired with the delicious sandwich it was more than enough! With good food, good wine, nice atmosphere and fun servers this just might just be my new girlfriends lunch spot!

This place is amazing. There is nowhere around home I love going to more than Sorcis. Their fire roasted pork sandwich will fill me every time. Their italian mojitos, ohhhh my goddd. Tammy, Jeremiah and Jeremy all are amazing. Shout out to Chef Alejandro too man for keeping up with delicious specials

This is a quaint restaurant with good food, good service and good atmosphere. Our waitress was efficient and knowledgeable. We had wine, dinner and a happy hour appetizer for under $50. You cannot beat that! Plus the food was really good. You can tell this is a family run operation, and they love what they are doing. I would recommend this place to anyone local who is looking for good Italian food at a reasonable price.

First let me tell you I love Italian food and this place delivers.. Great and romantic place to eat with great music and Italian wine. The environment is fun and relaxing. The new owner does everything right from the remodel they did to adding some personal touch on the menu and recipes. The crew will work very hard to make your visit a great one and by the way the food is amazing. Keep it up!!!

We have been here 3 times now. Each time, they made us feel so welcome and like neighbors from down the street. Small, local and family owned. Service is friendly, casual and very efficient. The food is traditional Italian (as far as I could tell) with lots of unique options....Butternut Squash Ravioli with brown butter sauce, chicken pistachio lasagna, and asparagus in/on lots of different dishes. The rosemary apple goat cheese brushetta was to die for. Only got 4 stars because the pizza crust wasn't as gourmet as I like...seemed a little 'pre-made/frozen'. The toppings were good though, but I won't order the pizza again. Lobster ravioli might be next on my list!

We just had a rehearsal dinner for 35 here last night...unbelievable. This place is top notch and will bring you coming back for more. Food and service was impeccable and we hired Andy to come in and play for us. Thank you David for working with me and creating a dinner that our family will never forget....love you guys. Can't wait to come back..

Good food and pleasant service , location is odd but I would go again when in the area

Went for lunch expecting authentic Italian cuisine. Right. I ordered a vegetarian pizza which was warmed up straight from the freezer...(I asked if it was frozen after I got my order...unfortunately and the server said yes). I was expecting a pizza made right then and there. The menu leads you to believe your getting a fresh made pizza. It had NO flavor at all. You can get a better pizza from Tader Joes. My fiance ordered a pork sandwich, it was OK. Strangely though, you do not get a complimentary side with it. The prices are ridiculous considering the quality of food they serve.

I really like the staff at the restaurant. My boyfriend and I came in on a quiet weekday evening, and they were very attentive and sat us outside. It was summer so it was nice, but man the bugs are attracted to the vinegar and oil I guess, because we couldn't get them off our bread app. I probably won't sit outside again. I wish they had a gluten free menu or options besides salad, because before I developed an intolerance to it, they had some delicious stuff on the menu. Salads are kind of boring. No taste. But I could probably go back and figure out something else to get on the menu. We will definitely go back!

Sorci's has been a favorite of mine for years. Went in January for my birthday dinner as we always do. Our goat cheese avocado bruschetta bread was moldy. The NEW owner looked at it & vanished. He never said he was sorry. He never said a word. He disappeared and then came back out to then sit with friends at a nearby table as we wondered what had just happened. I was sad. Am still sad. Hoping that our next experience will re-instate our faith.

Food was very good and ate too much. The pizza was very flavorful, the meatballs were just ok. Service was good, shouldn't have gotten dessert, put the bill over the top of being a reasonable lunch.

  • Anastasia J.

The porker is bomtastic as one of the servers would say :). The service is great. The food is full of flavor in my opinion you get what you pay for. Try the tiramesu its amazing. I would recommend this place to all my friends

    (4)
  • Jeff J.

Went for lunch. Decent menu selection but quality was so so. Pizza was very bland. It was actually a frozen pizza that was warmed up. The panini was just so so as well. The bun was common fair as was the pork. Fred Meyer Italian panini is better in my opinion...more flavor and better bread. Dessert was an imported cheesecake smothered in a chocolate sauce. It was OK as well. Over all we had a decent lunch for @40 bucks, but would not consider it authentic nor a destination place. The service was very good. We enjoyed our server and the atmosphere was comfortable.

  • Rick N.

Contemporary Christian music was blaring when we walked in. I had to ask the server to turn it down, which she quickly did. The other server continued walking around singing to it. It is a Italian/European restaurant. That ruined the whole experience for me. Though the food and service was fine, i won't go back. It was a dark gray day and the lights were all turned down.

  • Unwanted H.

Small portions and bad service. Would rate 0 if possible. Tried to leave peacefully after having a bad experience and was literally followed / harassed by the waiter for not leaving a tip. Between poor portion size and no refills on beverages, zero checking up on ect, I was appalled. Will never be back. Best to steer clear of this one. Thanks for ruining our afternoon Sorci.

Want a little slice of Italy in the heart of Sumner? Like it says on the door Sorci's is "Your Rome away from Rome". The meatballs on the sandwich had just the right amount of garlic and seasonings. Coulda used more sauce which was criminally underseasoned. My wife had the Italian sandwich which was better. Asparagus soup was just OK. May be shoulda gone w/the Minestrone. Wanna go back and try the Gnocchi or pasta or pizza or salad or....just about anything else but what I ordered.

We stumbled upon one day and WOW we were totally impressed with the food!! It's hard to find really good Italian, they have it!!

    (5)
  • Tina T.

Yum! Yum. Yuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmm. This was our first visit and we asked for recommendations from our friendly waiter. We enjoyed fantastic gnocchi with vodka sauce with sausage (fennel-y-riffic), lasagna and chicken parmesan. We started with cheesy, saucy bread which was also great. The asiago bisque and salad was great too. It's a comfortable, friendly place and the tiramisu we shared for dessert is something I'll be thinking about for a while... Went back again and it was fantastic again! I've heard a rumor about their apple french toast that is apparently available for dessert at lunch and dinner...Can't wait to try it based on what I've heard!

  • Roxanne M.

Good food--when it finally arrives--poor, unfriendly service. Waiter was so focused on one table (personal friends???) that our table was non-existent. After a ridiculous wait time for the food to arrive, the waters were never refilled and the waiter never checked back. In short, the waiter took our order, delivered the food and dropped the check with a condescending attitude. Not going back-

I am not one to judge Italian food but this was good. Doesn't reach the "great" or "excellent" category but a solid "good" with edging to greatness. All the places needs is a little redefining of the meals. They need to add "something" to define their Italian from others but keep in mind I had the gold standard, pasta. The menu had many items that seemed different and excellent. The size of the meals are perfect, don't except a large amount of chow just enough to get a good fill. The beer selection was all bottled but still good. I recommend the red lager. I don't know wine but it seems they have a largish selection. Every course of the dinner was done well. I must say the dessert was the better of the course, this seems to be the norm.

  • The Dead S.

Not bad. Cozy, quaint and pleasant. The staff was very cordial and nice. We did sit outside and the occasional loud exhaust pipe is the worst of it. The food was good. Not the best, but acceptable. A few items made me raise my eyebrow, but the main dish tasted good. I would go here again, but I probably wouldn't tell anyone to go out of their way to get here. A solid dining experience overall.

Best italian food in the state. Ate in Little Italy in new york city last week and feel sorcis is even better. Great pasta and great wine list. Try the fire roasted pork sandwich some time at lunch 'outstanding! Excellent service and friendly owners.

Great local spot in Sumner for genuine Italian and a staff that makes you feel like family. My wife and I have lunch there usually about once a week. A favorite is Pizza Margherita, made with fresh basil, real mozzarella and fresh tomatoes. Also can count on good soup selection. Great place for an intimate dinner. They also have cooking classes, wine tastings and fun special events, a coffee bar and Italian gelato and sodas. Haven't done brunch yet, but I hear the French toast is to die for.

    (4)
  • Jeff B.

Very unassuming neighborhood "joint" in sleepy Sumner. The homemade gnocchi in vodka sauce was to die for. Don't come if your favorite Italian is Olive garden, if you are in a rush, or have impatient children. If you like to take some time and savor some very good food and some interesting people that run the place, you'll be happy.

  • Teek K.

I like this place a lot-the homemade sangria is outstanding, as is the food. I've been in to the restaurant twice and gotten food to go once. The portions are reasonable and the food is always hot (including the to-go order). Sometimes they turn up the music too loud during lunch, making it hard to hear any company you're with. Will be back to try the gelatto.

  • Larry T.

We went here after a show with our two children. The place is very cute but the service was very slow. We ordered pasta with a marinara sauce and fettucini alfredo for my wife and daughter. All of the portions were quite small for the price. Their bread wasn't even very fresh. The red sauce was very good but the alfredo sauce was extremely garlickly and basically inedible. We ordered gelato for the kids for dessert which was outrageously priced at $4.00 per small scoop. One of the scoops was actually gritty in texture. We have had much better gelato and pasta elsewhere. And the waitress suggested Pelegrino for the kids which they hated. We will not return!!

The review I previously wrote was fueled more by emotions then an actual experience at the restaurant. I felt that the review that I wrote was inappropriate and that I needed to give the place another try. One of my coworkers and myself went for an early dinner after work last week. A young man waited on us. He was in tune with our needs and gave us suggestions on what to order. My food was wonderful and we both ate almost the entire plate. The ambiance was perfect, we were able to carry on an important conversation in a relaxing environment an get some work done while enjoying a pleasant meal. We were not harassed every two minutes to see if everything was ok but he did make sure that we had what we needed. I think it is important to apologize for ill informed review that I previously wrote and thank our server for a wonderful experience.

Absolutely loved it! We got here early on a Saturday evening so it wasn't too busy. Had the spinach artichoke appetizer. Aaahmazing, not like anything you buy at the store. And the bread is perfect. Crusty edges and soft in the middle. For dinner I had the salmon manicotti with cream sauce. Decadent. Hubby had the lasagna di giorno which he said was good. Super friendly staff, and our drinks never got less than half-full. (My measure of good service). We'll definitely be back.

So happy to have been referred to Sorci's by a couple of friends. Great dining in this part of town is hard to find. Original menu. Good wine list and my hubs enjoys the brew offerings. Haven't been anything but thrilled with food and am looking at the calendar to see when we will go back. One caution. AVOID Valentines Day. The place was overbooked and they shoved you through just short of a cattle prod. But note taken and I will avoid. Mid week is best.

Very nice first visit today. Service was friendly, if not super fast or attentive. But it was a pleasant lunch with my better half, she had a vegetarian calzone, I had the special, and Italian hash with prosciutto, cheese and marinara. Both were quite tasty, their base marinara was excellent. Extensive looking wine list, we look forward to coming back here for dinner some evening. All-in-all a very welcoming and inviting first visit. We will certainly return, there were some dishes on their dinner menu I am interested in trying.

I used to love this place. It's just crap now. If you want a beer and it's an IPA, you're gonna wait awhile. The waitress, who was sweet, will fail to tell you why until you ask. I guess I'm a little cranky because I ordered the Sorci platter as well as a pizza, which I was sharing. Pizza showed up, no appetizer. Lame. I was looking forward to it. So, when I get home I shall make soup. I don't think I will return until they change owners, again. BTW, the pizza was not cooked all the way. I ate it with a fork.

HELL YEAH! Always great food, great atmosphere, and fantastic service. My favorite restaurant that we frequent at least 3 times a month. Thank you Sorci's staff!

Not very kid friendly some dishes were amazing others were barley eatable "stuffed peppers an hot chocolate ". The wait staff was nice once we were recognized ,but the wait was to long for what we ordered "appetizers". Plus way to over priced for what we ordered.

This is one of the hidden gems in Sumner. My husband and I go here quite often when we are in the mood for an Italian date night. It's a small bistro type restaurant so it can get pretty crowded Saturday nights. If you have a large group, I would call a head. The portions are just right, very filling. Their meatballs have pork or sausage type taste. All the food tastes very fresh and the pizza is amazing wood fired style. We always order pesto pasta because the sauce taste freshly made in house and like nothing we've ever tasted before anywhere else. The menu prices are very affordable and reasonable for the quality that you are getting. Do not leave this place without ordering tiramisu and a latte. The tiramisu is a recipe made in house and is absolutely amazing; very fresh and moist. I'm not even a fan of tiramisu but I love it here. I highly recommend this place to everyone who likes bistro type places.

Came in for lunch with a group of 16 people. Sorcis offers an ala carte menu along with a "pick two or pick three" for lunch. We started off with a few appetizers - Prosciutto wrapped Asparagus, Baked Four Cheese Bread, Spinach Artichoke Dip with Crab and Flatbread ( topped with olive oil and oregano with side of Marinara). All the apps were good and reasonably priced. Some ordered the 12-inch thin crust pizzas (the Tutta Carne was the hands down favorite) while the rest ordered paninis. I tried the "pick two" with the Caesar Salad and half Italian Grinder (salami, pork, turkey, provolone, roasted red peppers and tomato). The Caesar Salad was okay, nothing outstanding, but I did enjoy the panini - packed with meats, cheese and peppers and nIcely grilled! Service was good comsidering we were a large group at lunch rush, but we did wait quite a bit for our food.

I really like this place. The food is consistently great. I am a huge fan of the paninis. Sorci's has the best customer service out of all the restaurants that I have dined at in Sumner. The atmosphere is nice too. This is a great spot for a casual dinner date or a quick sit down lunch. I encourage the owner's to keep playing with the home made limoncello recipe. The sugar to water ratio specifically. When I tried limoncello in Italy, it was sweet and citrusy. At Sorci's it reminded me of grain alcohol with lemon peels thrown in. Great restaurant though.

My wife and I returned for our 2nd time during lunch on Thursday. The baked avocado appetizer is incredible! Outdoor patio seating is perfect! The food and service once again was right on point! Their wine selection by the glass is good, and the bar tender makes a great vodka martini! We will definitely be back!

Appetizers great. Had soup and salad - minestrone soup not like any other minestrone soup I've had. Came for lunch with others and my soup/salad took the longest to get. Pizza was overlooked. Very slow for a lunch venue. Server was great but food just took too long.

You must give this place a try. It's like walking into the house of a close friend! Great food, good selection of beer, sincere service and while the atmosphere is intimate, it's very family-friendly. I recommend the chicken panini loaded with a bold pesto and slices of avocado. I paired it with a spinach salad, and my husband tried the tomato basil soup - amazing!!! A new favorite spot.

The meal I enjoyed deserves honorable mention. Baked avocado appetizer was one of the best apps I have ever had! I had a chicken entree that was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The outdoor seating was a blast on a beautiful NW summer evening. The secret is out... memorable meals deserving honorable mention.

Absolutely amazing!! Spent $170 and it was well worth every penny. Had the cheese manicotti, very rich and wonderful. I bought two of each of their cake balls and look forward to trying every one of them. It's small but very cozy. The perfect place for a romantic evening. The staff are also very attentive.

Such a fantastic restaurant!the food was delicious, I had the roasted chicken with pasta and my husband had the salmon. Both were booked perfectly!! Super flavorful with fresh ingredients. The servers and owners had the best personality and service. I am definitely going back, so glad I live close.:)

A great place for any occasion...Amazing Italian food, but even greater people and service! Would recommend chicken Parmesan, Mac and cheese, or lasagna!

Great place! Wonderful wine and good food. Only reason it's not five stars is the music ( Christian gospel) which doesn't bother me much, but I feel it a bit imposing)

When we walked in here at 1:30 for lunch we were not greeted but deducted that we should seat ourselves. There was a server on the back patio & the owner working inside the restaurant. We waited over 10 minutes (they were not busy) before we could get the owners attention to ask for water. It was another 10 minutes before getting water & finally menus. Meanwhile the owner continued to laugh & chat with a table of a couple who were heavily drinking & loud. We were going to leave when our order was finally taken. After seating ourselves & waiting 40-45 minutes out food did arrive. The food was good (hard to ruin a sandwich) but we were not checked on again until a desert menu was delivered. The service was terrible, especially for having so few people there. The owner spent most of her time conversing & laughing with the intoxicated couple. This place was a huge disappointment!!

Stop me if you've heard this one.... Two lawyers walk into an Italian Café--they are seated and drink orders taken. One orders a water and the other an iced tea. The waiter's reaction was not one of enthusiasm, but he retrieves the drinks and takes their order. Side note: While the patrons realize that these beverages are not as exciting as the Mint Julep or the Rose Water Ricky, they had a long road ahead and did not want to drink then drive. The menu is reviewed and while there was a "Happy Hour" menu on the table, it was nearly 8:00 PM and the menu indicated that happy hour was from 3-5. The patrons pushed the menu aside and ordered from the dinner menu. It was not until a few minutes later when another server pointed out that this menu was still available that the patrons realize they would over pay for the same "food"... One patron orders a cup of the Roasted Red Pepper "soup" and a Caprese salad while the other the Bruschetta appetizer. An hour later.. the food arrived. The "soup" was excellent that intent was that it taste like and have the consistency of marinara sauce. The Caprese salad was excellent... no caveat here (but then again how hard is it to slice mozzarella and tomatoes?) The Bruschetta was average. In the hour between the orders being taken and the delivery of the food the patrons were entertained by the flurry of activity surrounding the adjacent table... there were discussions about "ice balls" between the wait staff and the patrons at that table...and drinks delivered with a smile...meanwhile, we remained invisible. The waiter was MIA...well...that's not fair... he was there and he could be seen serving other patrons, but he stopped at the table only to deliver food... He was not pleasant and made both patrons feel like they were not worth his time. The "entertainment" was shrill and so loud-the patrons were happy that they had been seated outside so that they would experience no hearing loss. Toward the end of the experience a nice man (presumed to be the manager) came by to see if the patrons enjoyed the meal... but by this point the damage was done.

Great place! Love the food, the people the decor, euro hip interior. Love the wine selection and they are super friendly. I recommend it often. GO anytime but you must go in the summer when you can go out on the patio. It's really fun.

It's been years since I've been to Sorci and I was pleasantly surprised to find they were under new ownership. The staff was attentive and ready to assist in making choices. The menu seems to have enough variety to make meat lovers and vegetarians satisfied. We started with the apple and goat cheese bruchetta. It was a delightful appetizer perfect for a summer evening. I chose to create my own pasta dish: fettuccine with pesto and primevara vegetables. The veggies were grilled right before plating and they were cooked to perfection while maintaining that delightful crunch. Hubby ordered the 6 layer lasagna and said it was spicey but delicious.

This place does the cafe thing with elegance and hospitality fitting a real Italian cafe. I had no idea it was even there! What ambience! Great wine list. Enjoyed a bottle of the super Tuscan based upon the server's recommendation. Delicious. Went for lunch. I had lasagne, my friend had gnocchi with vodka tomato cream sauce. Both tasted homemade, hot, and comfort food-yummy. They were only $10 for the entrees! What a deal! This was really simple American Italian food done well. Fresh, homemade. Approachable and not pretentious. Delicious. I can't wait to go back. I am thrilled I finally found this place! This is not fine dining, but upscale homey food. Do try!

Food was great! Service was also very good. I'm usually not satisfied when I order something spicy, but their spicy sauce and Italian Sausage were fantastic on the spaghetti. The only reason not to give five stars is the noise and the draft from the open back door. We will come again!

We met some friends here and overall it was a fun place. It is more restaurant than coffee but they have the coffee drinks which is all we wanted. Service was friendly and they had my Almond (sugar free) Mocha so I was OK - even received it in a Real human Cup. It is sort of out of the way and on a side street but we will come back for a meal next time.

Seems like they changed owners since the last time I was there in 2011 (which, I get it, that's awhile ago). Not as impressed by the food or the menu (though it's still solid), and to top things off, whoever ran our credit card actually LOST it because it flew out of his hand. We sat waiting for him to find it, and 10 minutes later, he told us that he couldn't find it and that he'd give us a call if he found it. We said we were from California, only passing through on our way to visit friends in Seattle, but we'd hang out for a bit around Sumner to wait. Finally he did call about half an hour later - turns out it had fallen into a case of beer or something near the register. He offered to comp a glass of wine the next time we went, which I thought was a pretty crappy deal, especially considering the fact that he knew we were from out of town (jeez, at least give us like free dessert to go or something). Meh.

Went there for a pre Tough Mudder meal. We were so impressed. Amazing food, elegant service. We had the stuffed avocado, meatball sliders, mac & cheese and pistachio chicken lasagna. We wish they were located in Seattle. Probably the best Italian food in the state! We will definitely be back. Next time we will bring friends with us!!

Came here after our first attempt at lunch resulted in us leaving the restaurant (having never been served). Anyways, this place is a gem. Attentive, friendly staff, a menu with lots of variety and a cute atmosphere. I had gnocchi and tomato sauce, which was delicious. My friend had a panini and was happy it could be made on gluten free bread. Prices were really reasonable. Will be back!

Fabulous! That one word sums up our entire experience at Sorci's. A friend and I love Italian and happened across this inviting cafe today. The happy hour is priced too low (but don't change it :) and the service is wonderful & the food was all impeccable! A definite recommend for sure!

Haven't been here in awhile but this place is still as good as ever. The best place in Sumner and surrounding areas for Italian food hands down. Our waitress with the short red bob was such a doll and was very helpful with the wine selection and very attentive and sweet! We ended up getting a bottle of Liberty School Cabernet and it was so good! I had the chicken parmesan and my friend had the cheese manicotti which were both super delicious and would totally recommend it! Overall we had a great time and we are gonna come back this week for happy hour before we hit the wine walk on Saturday. The only thing I could critique is I saw a number of people including us try to sit at a table and were asked to move to another table somewhere else so perhaps they should have a please wait to be seated sign or a hostess so someone can seat them where they want them to sit so people don't feel like they are being told they can't sit somewhere it was kind of awkward being told "you can't sit here but you can sit there or there"...

What a great little place hidden away in Sumner. This place reminded me of the old school restaurants in Chicago. I came in for some quick bites and they were delicious. The balsamic on the La Bella Caprese was remarkable, they need to bottle this stuff and sell it. One case please! I also had the small peppers and the the incredible spinach artichoke dip with crab in it, so good. Met the owner, and he was so kind and took time to walk me through some drink selections and what was in the food I ordered. I enjoyed this place so much and I will be back as I need to try the Italian sodas. I felt like a regular the way the staff treated me. Top notch! Nice patio area as well to enjoy my drinks.

There were 6 of us who dined Saturday night to celebrate a wedding anniversary and a birthday. They seated us in their private room in the back. Unfortunately the place had fruit flies. We had to cover all our wine glasses with napkins. The worst part is that they were pretty much accepting of the whole thing. The server even told us it wasn't just in the room we were sitting but all over the place. Not comforting. That usually indicates some degree of not cleaning. Also we weren't too impressed with our server. I mean we were a large party and plunked some serious bucks. We had to mention twice if she could bring us a candle for the birthday celebrant. Anyway the food was good so I'm giving it 3 stars. Shame... we were looking for a special evening and it wasn't really so special.

I had the gnocchi, which tasted like little pillows of deliciousness. The sauce was awesome. My parents both liked their food. My mom loved the minestrone soup and said the chocolate torte is the best she's ever had. Service was great, although they were a bit slow on refills. My only complaints are that the cake balls were not special enough to justify $2.50 each, and there were few meat dishes. For the cake balls, I would suggest a three for $5 or five for $10 deal. For the meat, I would suggest something like saltimbocca or a tender beef dish.

Five stars for the food and authenticity. Five stars for the thought they put into their menu. Five stars for the creavtive interior design. Five stars for the service I have recieved. This place is all around 5 star quality. One of my top favorite restaurants ever.

My niece and I stumbled into this place one random afternoon during her winter break. We Googled "Good food in Sumner" because we wanted an adventure. The place is small, but oddly quaint with a personality and decor that's unique, warm, and fun. My first two visits to this little gem were during the lunch hours, I fell in love with the food! I'm near certain everything is made in-house, including their gelato. I was so blown away by the flavor, balance, and taste of my first few dishes, I have not ordered the same thing twice here, and trust me I want to. I just want to try everything on the menu. Because of this I'm not going to tell you what I ate. I am that confident no matter what you order, you'll be pleased with. (Hint, hint there is a sandwich that incorporates Apple and honey and it is AMAZING!) Part of the reason I keep going back, sorry this might sound creeper status but get over it, the male wait staff is rather attractive. This past week I took my best friend to dinner there and although my favorite server wasn't working, I was still glad we went. There dinner menu was just as good and rather filling. We both felt embarrassed as we nearly licked the plates. I seriously love the food here! In closing, I would recommend lunch over dinner just because the sandwiches are heavenly. I can't wait to go back

My mother and I had a splendid spring afternoon in Sumner. We started at the nursery at the edge of town and then afterward realized we were hangry! We drove to an Italian joint but it smelled really bad and it was dark in there, so I said "let's get out of here!" We deserved better. I looked on Yelp and found this place. Oh man, was it so much better. Outdoor seating, a beautiful white classic car sitting outside of the place, and not to mention, amazing food and great service!! I recommend this place to any one who wants great food and wonderful atmosphere that is not stuffy but has a cool vibe.

Portions are small, out of many things for a Saturday morning. Price wasn't great for a cafe and food was very bland and boring. Went with a party of 5. Tried everything from Italian soda, coffee, two appetizers, five entrees, beer and Bellinis, and dessert. Still, will never go there again.

Alright, just had the special- chicken marsala and my girlfriend had the special- balsamic Ribeye on spinach and smashed potatoes. My only regret is that she only gave me one bite. Best steak in town, bar none!! If I was going to a steak house I would drive here first! Not to take away from my dinner, the Chicken Marsala was the best I have ever had..seriously. dinner here and you won't be disappointed! The staff is very engaging and attentive...I've been here numerous times and this is the gem of Sumner.

Really delicious food and I guess on Thursdays they have live music, sitting here listening to one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard, I think her name is Kristen Marlo, if you ever get a chance and she is playing this place it is a must!!!

We love small quaint restaurants. We don't go out much so we want to know we will get a good meal and have a great time. Sorci's is one of our "go to" choices! The restaurant is small and the staff is incredibly friendly without being overbearing. And the food! Oh my gosh! On our last visit last Friday my husband had the Lemon Chicken Piccata with risotto with a glass of Sangiovese. The risotto was perfect and the Piccata was so filling he took 1/2 home for lunch the next day. I on the other had had my thoughts on one of their wonderful desserts. So I had a "light" Brushetta platter as my meal. It was great! And then I had room for their homemade tiramisu! We'll be back! There are at least 5 more desserts I haven't tried!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
