This was my first visit here. So much goodness. Where to start? First of all, it's a fairly large restaurant with plenty of seating, inside and out. Friendly knowledgable staff. Excellent kitchen and menu. Large drink menu. We started off with the sweet&spicy chicken wings. They were very good, not too spicy but plenty of flavor. 12 wings for $10. My wife got the bbq brisket sandwich on gf hoagie roll with salad ($13). Very tasty! I had the Big Dawg burger ($15). This was featured on triple D so I had to try it. It didn't disappoint. I did add some of my wife's extra brisket from her sandwich and that put it over the top. Ridiculousness. There is so much more on the menu to try, I can't wait to come back.

The portions of food are HUGE!! I ordered the onion rings as a side. There were 12! I also ordered the chilli cheese dog and could only eat half. So much good food! Great patio area in the late Spring/Summer that overlooks a pond with ducks. The only drawback is it's space is too small and there isn't enough parking. Staff is friendly and attentive. Great place to watch the Zags - if you can get in on game day!! Love the decor with the taps mounted to the ceiling and along the bar area!

Seriously, it's the best brisket I ever had so far Just so so good !!! I tried the one with the coleslaw and the one with the Jalapeño and the aus "healthy" dip!!! Both were different enough and just so f good !!! If u ever come to this city it better be the reason to come.

Lamb-strocity! Need I say more?! Amazing and inventive bar food, attentive and helpful staff, and great overall atmosphere. It is a must - visit every time I am in town and it has yet to disappoint. Be prepared to wait for a table if you decide to dine on the weekends.

Still my favorite burger in spokane and give it 5 stars for the food. one thing that I really need to say though, everyone is super friendly, nice, smiley, but there is a waitress that is the grumpiest I have ever seen in my life, in fact many of my friends that go there have stopped going there and went elsewhere just because of her. Not that she is rude or anything but just too grumpy. It is unfortunate to go to such a spectacular place to enjoy good time and food but then you feel uncomfortable with the grumpy server. Sorry Waddells but it's the truth.

Love to eat here. They have the best burgers and the atmosphere is fun. During nice weather, they have a patio that customers can enjoy. My only complaint would be that the actual restaurant is a little small so you could be waiting for a long time if you hit rush hour. But it is definitely worth it!

Had the smokin burger and it was amazing. Regular fries are nothing special. Service is good.

We had a great time here. All of the food was great pub fare and the beer selections were great. I love a stout and they had some smooth options. There was a full house due to some promos going on and It made it even more fun! Had a brisket dip which had their own flare to it. Yum must visit

I just had dinner here with my 17 year old daughter. The restaurant was completely full and we were seated at the last table. The service was excellent. The food was great and plentiful. We had a very enjoyable experience!!! We will definitely return!!

I spend so much time alone on the road yet weekends away from home are tough for a personable guy like me. That is until I met Mike and the gang at Wadell's Neighborhood Pub. I showed up today hoping to watch the Daytona 500 that started 10am local time but they don't open till 11 yet they not only invited me in they all spent time chatting with me while getting their work done. Mike the owner, Kelly (who I think was the head waitress), Joe the chef and the rest of the staff made this Diners Drive ins and Dives food find the best visit I have ever had. The place is great inside neat clean and comfortable. It's a sports bar restaurant with lots of big screens (and small ones) everywhere. They even have TVs in the rest rooms, a nice touch. This would be my daily hangout of I lived in Spokane! Mike is a foodie and lifetime restauranteur. This is reflected in the clever and tempting menu. He is also a brewmiester and I sampled a few of his really delicious beers. I had a few of the Pilsners that are far superior to anything that comes from a can. I decided on the pasta salad as an appetizer and it was great, Pene Ricotta is an excellent choice and it was cooked to the perfect just past al'dente texture. Next I had the LambStrosity, cheese steak served with lamb au jus. This was really great! Fabulous flavor excellent cheese and the bread holds up to a full submersion in the broth. The sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious and came with the Zag sauce. I put some on the Lamb sandwich which brought it up to superstar level! I renamed it "LAMBTASTIC" let's see if that one sticks. This place is an overall home run and should be on everybody's radar. Great for an excellent bite and some excellent brews. A hangout for your group or just to meet and make new friends. FoodDude Super food finding über traveler!

Best burger joint in the area! The Tasty Burger is sooooo good and fresh tasting. Great service too.

No matter what I order I love the food! When it comes to the beer you can't beat the selection and if you don't like what you picked they will find you another, which they are excellent at. I love the fact that in the summer you can sit outside and enjoy the weather. Doesn't hurt that it's walking distance for me so more beer can be consumed :-)

Impressed with the food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back. The wait staff was great and works well under pressure so that's a plus.

Today was our second time there. Food is good and beverages are good. Not a bad place will go again.

Had the big dawg it's a big burger, lots of flavor going on. A little bit to much of smoke flavor. But it's overall a good burger. Fry's are spot on. Tables could be a little bit cleaner. Wife had a bacon cheeseburger and was spot on, the house salad tasted like it came out of a bag.

This place has the best burgers and hot dogs. Their sweet potato fries are so good and come with this tangy orange fry sauce that goes perfectly with it. Those fried sweet little morsels are highly addicting and one of the reasons I keep going back. The amount of meat on the burger does not fail to impress and fill the most hungry of eaters. You will go home with leftovers. However! I do have one complaint. The customer service is lacking. When going there with a group of friends my friend decided to do the burger challenge (forgot what it's called) and it was probably the hugest burger I've seen in my life. Miraculously my friend actually completed the challenge and I was in awe and shock that I am friends with a person who could stuff this much food in their stomach - however our waitress couldn't care less and didn't even adknowledge to award the "prize" that was advertised with completing the challenge -a certificate and a big container of their Waddell's house seasoning. We had to actually ask her to remember to give us this stuff and she, without apologizing, said there's no certificate and put the seasoning on our table without a smile. It felt very rude and soured the dining experience.

So, we decided to give this place a try for lunch on Black Friday even though it was not exactly in downtown Spokane. (We went because the parking meters downtown refused to accept my credit card so we picked a restaurant with a FREE parking lot.) We were greeted by a friendly face and we were seated immediately. There were only a few tables available but we managed to get one close to a TV screen--oh, wait a second, every table is close to a TV screen. Today we only had choices of football or basketball (and I was looking forward to a good game of cricket). The draft beer menu is varied and obviously changes regularly. We had a cider and one of the Waddell's brews. Both were excellent. In fact, the cider was a cranberry cider that could easily be drunk until one was drinking it under the table. Yes, they do have food and it is very flavorful. We had a hamburger with french fries and a Thai chicken peanut wrap with cole slaw. The food complemented the beer and cider. The noise level was lively as almost every table was filled and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The waitress was attentive and checked back on us regularly. There were enough wait staff that everyone there should have felt that they were well served. A great neighborhood bar and eatery that we will definitely visit again. They do have outdoor seating (but we didn't try it as it was all wrapped up for winter. Did I say that it was a little nippy out?). This place is great for a group of 2, 4, 6, or 8. I think that larger groups would be better served elsewhere--unless you are all very friendly and don't mind sharing seats.

Love this place! Food is great, always. Super consistent. I always sit at the bar, had terrible service once but 2 out of the 3 bartenders I have had are awesome especially Jason(?) not sure if that's his name. Whenever I go in he lets me sample the beers I ask about without acting put out and is knowledgeable on the drinks. He also recommended the pesto chicken dank thing, I'll never get anything else from there again. I'm hooked! But if I see the girl I had bad service from I wouldn't sit at the bar that day.

The food is Meh. The service is Meh. The atmosphere is Meh therefore I''m giving it an "Meh" 2 stars. I had the Lamb-strocity; my wife had the sliders both with "squirley" fries. I don't know what a squirley fry is supposed to be. They were regular fries with some light seasoning. The seasoning made little difference to the fry experience which didn't set them apart from just a simple side of fries. The Lamb-strocity was A-OK. I wouldn't order it again. My wife was unimpressed with the sliders. She stated they tasted like a pre-made rather than a hand made. I agree with her. The texture of the protein fibers is telling. On a positive note, the Hummus place was good except for the dry carrots. The service was slow without introduction or enthusiasm and inappropriately dressed with a open-front skirt which revealed far too much thigh. It was an uncomfortable feeling when she walked by and that is mostly what she did: walked by. I don't recall if she checked up on us once after receiving our main-course. The atmosphere was television overload. Everywhere a television could fit there was one including the restrooms. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience but one worthy of a no-return visit even if they were featured on a Food Network show. Guy is somewhat of an actor rather than a food critic.

Wow!!! This place is amazing! To much food to eat I ate half my Burger and Half of my wife's half burger two different kinds both OH My GOD! Both were Great! Can't wait to comeback here! And the very best is the beer selection is outstanding! A guy we were talking to told us about this place, I want to go back and give that guy a huge hug for recommending the place.

The food is always incredible. The service is very slow. It must not be a great place to work because a majority of the workers don't seem happy.

The burgers are amazing and they have a large beer selection!! The pub is a bit off the beaten path but definitely worth the drive. We tried it out on a Saturday for lunch and the pub was packed. We had to wait a little longer for our food but the atmosphere and wait staff were really great. This will definitely be a go to spot for us in the future!!

The prices are a little high but the food is great and the service is passable. They make a superb Ruben sandwich and the burgers are also first rate.

Good food, huge appetizer portions!!! Nachos were a good portion for four hungry adults. Love the atmosphere! Burgers an interesting adventure here and if you here and hungry, try the barnyard challenge!

The first time, we were amazed at the food and selections. It was so good, we came back the next day. And then again two days later! Service was quick, even when they were busy. I tried two different burgers, but the Backdraft burger with BBQ brisket is my kryptonite. My fiance lives the huge beer selection - and on St. Patrick's Day, they drew a clover on the head of his Guinness! Small things like that really wow us.

I found out about this place on the Food Network Show: Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, and so while driving through Spokane, I made a stop here to try them out. Quick description: solid bar food at a nicer than average sports bar. I ordered their "Lamb-Strosity," with onion rings (beer battered), and later ordered their "Big Dog Burger" to-go for the road with sweet potato fries. The Lamb-Strocity had a nice bold flavor to it, and was a pretty good but nothing near "knock your socks off." The onion rings were pretty standard. The Big Dog Burger was also a pretty standard burger, which was good and I have no complaints, but nothing really "above and beyond." This place is better than most sports bars, but in the end, that's what it is, and I'm kinda surprised the Food Network and Guy Fieri took the time to go here. Don't get me wrong, if I lived in Spokane, I'd be a regular for sure. But being that I live in California, this isn't the type of place I dream of coming back to. foodnetwork.com/local/wa…

So glad I live so close to this place. I can't get enough of The Repeater/Little R Burger. It is the best I've ever had, and I've had it like 10 times.

It gets really busy and crowded but this is hands down the best burger in Spokane. Lot's of t.v.s to watch sports too.

Great burgers here! I always come back to the big dog, but have tried almost all of them. Went somewhere else yesterday and felt like jerry George and Elaine when they had to go to Reggie's that episode of Seinfeld. Waddels really is far better than most places for a burger and fries in Spokane. Lots of complaints from other people about service here, but we've never really had a problem. The waitresses aren't super excited to see us. But they are respectful and nice and prompt. I don't want someone who is fake and over board nice anyway. So go there and get the big dog burger. If you don't like spicy get the smokejumper. Fries are great and when I did drink I enjoyed the selection of beers.

Huge beer selection. Good tasty food too. Popular lunch and dinner place on the busy Regal street on the south hill.

Came here for lunch and man, their portions are large!! I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and I barely dented it. They actually had a lot of seafood in it. And I also got the whole portion for 12.95 so that was a deal. Still have some leftovers for dinner and lunch today. Bf got the lamb burger which was okay. I like feta so that was a plus but I think the lamb itself needed more flavor. The sweet potato fries were delicious though and I usually don't like sweet fries but these were smokey and came with a delicious dipping sauce. Would definitely come here again when I'm craving huge portions!

  • Ryan B.

Best burger in Spokane. Also a great beer selection. I'd go here daily if I could! Great place to watch a game or catch up with some friends. Some of the burgers will seriously knock you out with the pure size of them!

So the waitress arrives at our table with my burger and I immediately knew how we can end world hunger. Send every struggling family one of these hamburgers and they will be set for at least a month. I forget the name of my burger but it must have been something along the lines of "There's an Angioplasty in Your Future". It had BBQ brisket, grilled onions, bacon, sauces, gouda cheese and multiple patties. What it did not come with was an instruction manual on how to pick the monstrosity up and eat it. On the side were some sweet potato fries which I believe at some point in their lives were actually a healthy vegetable but now were a mess of fried seasoned goodness that made my mouth water. So basically, in case you weren't paying attention, the food is very good. Not angus beef good. Not good wholesome food good, but greasy horrible for you and delicious bar food. So why only 4 stars? Well, we went on multiple occasions and the service was lacking compared to other Spokane restaurants. Not nearly as friendly or attentive. Not horrible service, just not great. I don't like it when my empty drink sits on my table for 10 minutes without being refilled. To be fair, the management seems to under staff the restaurant as the servers always appeared as though they were running a 10k. Fix that issue and they can earn the extra star. One last thing. After you are done consuming the half of a cow they put on your plate and all of those amazing sweet potato fries, they will come around and say the words that will send chills down your spine. "Would you like some more fries?" Sometimes it is free, sometimes only a buck. Either way, say NO. Don't do it! They will taste great but your going to need to hire a fork lift to get you out of your seat and frankly that is a little too expensive.

  • Tammy F.

The food here is amazing. The burgers and hotdogs are some of the best. A very nice selection of beer. However the customer service sucks!!! Every time I have been here the waitresses never smile and act like we are putting them out just for walking in the door. I will continue to go with friends that have been here in the past. But I would never bring out of town guests here. I would hate for them to think that this represents Spokane.

I love nothing better than a good burger. And let me tell you, this place does not disappoint. Be prepared to eat a lot! They have amazing French fries and sweet potato fries. I tried the Repeater, and it was to die for. I wish I could eat here every day. Great place to go and watch sports too if you're into that.

Good place for a burger and beer. The only downfall is the size of the place. It's a bit small. GREAT PLACE1

Waddell's had been a little hit & miss for me. Thankfully with each visit the hits keep getting bigger and better. When I first visited, I had a rather bland burger and a tuna appetizer that was so awful I could not eat more than one bite (it's now gone from the menu). And though they had an impressive number of beers on tap, most were rather uninspired offerings. I'm glad I didn't give up on Waddell's, though. I've been back a few more times, and on these last few visits my experiences have been getting better and better. For one thing, their beer list has improved dramatically. On a recent visit they even had a sour beer on tap, which is very unusual for this area, and it was so good I purchased two growlers of it to take home. The owner noticed we were drinking that particular beer and stopped to talk to us about it and told us he is going to always try to have at least one sour on tap - that's reason alone for us to keep coming back! And I've been very impressed with some of their beer specials, such as a recent deal where they were offering ALL of their pumpkin ales for just $1 a pint. What a fun night that was! I'm becoming more enamored of their pub grub, too - I recently ordered the Lamb Philly and I found it to be a very large, very enjoyable sammie served with a very generous portion of well cooked, tasty fries. It made me want to try more food here. And I will say the thing that has always impressed me about Waddell's is the service. It's consistently exceptional. Current examples of how the wait staff goes above and beyond: my companions and I wanted to sit at the bar and an off-duty waiter who was sitting there noticed there wasn't enough room for us all so he got up and offered us his seat! And one of us ordered a sandwich and the other didn't (only one of us was hungry) and the waitress assumed we were splitting, and brought it out on two plates, each half with its own portion of fries and sauce - at no extra charge! I was blown away. This place is worth a visit just to experience the wonderful service. And one last note: if you're a sports fan, this is the place for you. Huge TVs hang in all areas of the restaurant, even the restroom! You'll never miss a moment of whatever game you're watching. Unlike how I felt on my first visit, I now feel I can recommend Waddell's as a good place to grab a burger or sandwich, and a great place to relax with a delicious, reasonably priced beer. Keep it up, Waddell's, keep it up!

    (4)
  • Billy L.

I been going to Waddell's for a little over a year, right when I first moved to Spokane. By far it is one of my favorite places to just sit down and relax with whatever alternating beers they have on tap. I love their food and I been there enough now, that I don't even bother with a menu. I just ask the bartender what beers they have on special or what they recommend and I get the Lamb-Strosity or the Lamp-Philly. Food is a little pricey but it's worth it if you got it. Beer is normal price but if you like them on facebook or even just call in they usually have 1-3 beers on special for $2. There have been occasions in the past that they have gone down to $1 pints for. I believe on one occasions (Dec 2012) when the Seahawks whupped the living daylights out of the 49ners, all beers were 25 cents a pint!

I've been going to Wadell's for years. Food is always amazing, those sweet potato fries are out of this world, and the Cougar Gold Burger is the best burger I've ever had. Staff are always friendly and attentive. This is a must-eat restaurant.

Unfortunately had to come here for a second time with some friends for a birthday and again, cold/average food, with subpar service. If the service wasn't awful (assuming better service would solve the cold food issue) , this would be a 3 star joint.

Went New Years Eve. Good was great. We made a reservation. We arrived on time and held the door for a party of 3. They were given the last table. We were seated at a community table. The hostess lacked skills.

  • Tim H.

After being ignored for too long (we sorta snuck in & it was 1/2 empty), we got up & grabbed some menus. I was ready to get grumpy on YELP, but Sarah was the perfect server, who got the order PERFECTLY, & quick!!! I had a couple special requests for my Big Dog Burger, WHICH TURNED OUT PERFECT!!! (Props to the kitchen!) Sarah checked on us the perfect amount of times, made sure we were happy, and now we're anxious to come back!

Been coming here for a few years. Love the atmosphere , the employees, and the sweet potato fries with Zag sauce. Yummmmm.... I've never had a bad experience here. Visit during the summer and eat out on the patio. It's perfect!

Amazing. I was really impressed with the beer selection, and the food. I had a burger/brisket combo that was just amazing. I recommend.

  • Chris D.

Expensive for pub fare, and the service was extremely slow. When the food showed up my friend's order was mixed up and under cooked. I had the lamb Philly which was really good and they fried the sweet potato fries just the way I like them (crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside). Overall not a bad place and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for the slow service and mixed up orders due to it being packed.

My daughters fries were cold. My burger didn't have any flavor. It didn't make me sick. The service was nice.

Service was super slow... went in for lunch, and after we ordered fish and chips and the Thai chicken wrap, it took about half an hour for our food to come. The food was pretty good, but nothing to really brag about.

  • Angela B.

We stopped in for a quick beer & to check out the menu. Their beer selection is fantastic -- we counted forty-some-odd rotating taps, with a wide variety of styles, and while we were there, we all had something new & tasty that we'd never had before. Like Manito Tap House, they do tasting flights, but they're significantly more expensive & even the bartender told us she wouldn't get one because it's not worth it. We were thinking of coming back to eat & so checked out the menu, & I'd say it's probably a step or two up from ordinary pub fare -- there's a Guinness pot pie, a couple of lamp options, an entire page of specialty hot dogs & burgers, & all the appetizers you'd typically expect. (I can't tell you how good it is because we ended up eating somewhere else.) On the other hand, the service left a lot to be desired. The bartenders kind of watched us sit there from the other end of the bar for several minutes before they came over, and would routinely disappear completely from the bar for long periods of time. (When my boyfriend had been dry for ~5 minutes, he joked about jumping behind the bar to pour his own.) What I -can- say for both bartenders is that they happily poured us several tastes of things we hadn't had, which was nice.

YUM.....I like this place. Service sucks a bit but no biggie if you give yourself enough time. Not thinking it is the servers fault but seems like they just need to schedule one more to handle their popularity. Squirrelly seasoning is too sweet for me but they will take it off. Food is great and beer is always cold. Great outdoor are too. Gotta try the Repeater burger or the lambstrosity.

  • William C.

We went for dinner and sat on the patio. The sun was blaring at our table and we looked longingly at the umbrellas at the restaurant next door which had adjustable tops that could block out the sun which is something Waddells should invest in if they are serious about outdoor dining. Eventually, the sun went behind the apartments in the distance and we were golden. That issue aside, the service was good and the food was out relatively fast even though it was moderately busy. Everybody enjoyed their food. I had the Rube Waddell burger which is basically a Ruben with a hamburger patty- very tasty. The sweet potato fries were excellent. My daughter enjoyed her bacon cheeseburger and my wife, who had eaten earlier just got a bowl of slaw, but it was a good sized portion and looked very fresh. She said it was very good. Generally, this place has limited seating because we have been in before and did not stay because there were no non-bar seats available and we had our young son with us. Prices are a bit high, but at least the food and service warrants it.

Whine-bitch-moan about the service... did anyone TASTE THE FOOD? I mean, I think I reached enlightenment after my lunch. What I loved: Tap beers. Many tap beers. I was surrounded by dozens of tap handles, all seductively calling out my name. Guy Fieri's burger picks: the Rube Waddell and the Big Dawg. Preferred the latter, but both were amaze. Rock n Roll Dog. Seriously, one of the most memorable food-eating experiences I've ever had. A hot dog topped with onions, pulled pork, jalapeno cream cheese and... Pop Rocks. Even my mom, who is an unadventurous diner, was moved. What I didn't love: Service. Yes, it's slow. Yes, it's uninspiring. Fries. They come as a side with your burgers and hot dogs, but don't even bother eating them. They are completely average carb-filler. Despite my caveats, Waddell's is one of the best diners I've ever been to. Please go, check your ego at the door, and enjoy the food. Whenever I'm back in the Spokane area, this will be one of my first stops.

#1 They call themselves a pub AKA Public House in England - BAR in America yet they serve no liquor so in reality they are beer and wine establishment but NOT A PUB. #2 Service - Rude, slow, arrogant - last time I checked I voluntarily walked into your establishment I was not ordered her or incarcerated here so treat me with some respect. #3 Food - It's not that the food is really that bad, it isn't, it's just that the food is outrageous in price. Sandwiches that cost $10+ dollars, wraps that are all in the $ 9 range, $8 and $ 9 hot dogs. Hummus or a side of Onions rings for $ 9 - give me a F-ing break. People this is decent bar food, nothing special, just because it was featured on a TV show , where the guest gushes about everything he eats, doesn't make it a food orgasm, but as PT Barnum once said . . . . . .

Huge fan of the decor! Beer bottles of just about every label and brew type hang from the ceiling and are fixed to the sides of the booths, in a classy way. My husband and I shared a caesar salad and a lambstrocity sandwich. So good! The lamb was perfectly cooked with delicous sweet potato fries. And that was quite a tasty salad.

THE GOOD: Waddell's Pub and Grill is a great place to grab a burger and/or a beer. Seriously, they have the best burgers in Spokane and tons of beers on tap. Service at the bar is pretty good although at times it is slow. The bartenders are always friendly, which makes up for the slow service. The Meow Meow burger (the Cougar Gold burger with only one patty) is soooo good. Pretty much any of the burgers are delicious. The fries are actually pretty good too. THE BAD: They do not serve hard liquor and their wine list is very limited. The service is atrocious in the dining area. The servers are rude, condescending, and slow. Don't you dare walk past the "Please wait to be seated" sign (after waiting by the door for nearly 5 minutes) otherwise the server (likely the sour looking brunette) will scold you and speak to you as if you are mentally disabled. Also, everything else on the menu aside from the burgers, are just okay. Nothing to get too excited about. The dessert menu is nothing special either. The food (aside from the burgers) is fairly overpriced. The hubby and I go here whenever we are craving a good burger or to watch a football game. If they didn't have good burgers, we probably would never go back.

Featured On the Food Network Show, Diners Drive Ins and Dives....for it's burgers...Have you ever tried a burger with a fried egg on it ??? well I was too chicken to try it but our friend LOVES It ! mmmmmmm I had the plane burger with the fixings, it was yummy. The burger had a very rich grilled taste and they cook them to your perfection which is nice ! I was a bit disappointed though because my burger was thinner than what I was expecting and it looked like a frozen patty. Would I eat here again ? mmmm....maybe ? My husband had the Rueben sandwich with Coleslaw and fries. He really enjoyed his Rueben.....so that is good. Their coleslaw says it has pineapple in it but I couldn't taste it, it was overly made with too many onions. where's the pineapple ? I love pineapple in my coleslaw. The children's menu is very limited so we ordered my son a regular hot dog. He LOVED it. but what kid doesn't like hot dogs, can't really go wrong there guys. My daughter ordered the 2 mini-burgers off the kids menu and she ate almost an entire one. They were so darn cute I have to say...the fruit cups with the kids meals are not Fresh Fruit :-( bummer. they are the plastic canned type fruit cocktail, it would be nice if it was fresh grapes or something like that. All in all the atmosphere was a great pub feel and the service was very nice...all in all a A-OK lunch, would I come back.............. MAYBE. They do have a HUGE beer selection if you drink beer.

This place has pretty good food and beer selection. It's typically packed and it's hard to find comfortable seating. I've been there during football season and we all played musical chairs because the bartender couldn't seem to get the right games on the right TVs. It would be nice if they had a full bar.

Five of us visited this place this last Friday.. All of us were impressed with the food. My burger (Cougar Gold burger) was very tasty. I really liked the fry sauce. Only thing that could have been improved was the service. Our waitress was efficient but never once graced us with a smile. The red headed gal who delivered our appetizer seemed put out and annoyed when I asked for a side dish. There were five of us eating and she only brought 4 plates. She basically indicated to me that she could care less that we needed another plate. Found her attitude a bit odd. The owner (I think) was very nice. He was basically busing tables and checking up on all the tables around us. That was a nice touch. Would go back. Hope service is better next time.

I was brought here by a friend my first night in Spokane and I loved my experience here. I tried the Big Dawg burger and I loved every bite of it. One of the best burgers I've had. The meat was fresh and perfectly cooked. The toppings were fresh and the sweet potato fries were very yummy. I was full about 3/4 of the way through the burger, but I had no problem finishing it. They also have an excellent beer selection. Several perfect beers to go with their amazing burgers. I will definitely be making several return visits to Waddell's.

As far as pub food goes, this place is definitely five stars!! ("Woohoo! As good as it gets!"). The servers were friendly and efficient. They changed the TV for us so we could watch a soccer game (even though March Madness was the main event that night), and they didn't mind that we stood around the TV's while waiting for a table. I think my husbands favorite part may have been the TV's in the restroom (I'm not kidding!) This place is small, so make sure to go ready to wait for a table during peak hours. Their food is also fantastic. My husband had a burger, two weeks later he is stil talking about it. Their sweet potato fries were also delicious. And the chicken burger was one of the best I have ever had. We will definitely be going back -- I'm just sorry it took us so long to finally check this place out!

I went here late one afternoon with a friend and I thought it was great. The amount of beers to choose from on tap is almost overwhelming. I really love they have that many though. The food is pretty good as well. I had a chipotle chicken sandwich and it was really really good. The fries were a bit over seasoned. They almost tasted like spicy potato chips. A little too much going on with them. Our waitress was super nice. I think I'll definitely go back. Can't get that chicken sandwich off my mind....

Waddell's is a nice new sports bar serving some decent eats and some good beer There were a handful of taps which were situated behind my line of sight at the other end of the bar, but the bottle beer selection was quite nice. Any bar that offers bottles of Dogfish Head 120 is A-OK in my book, though I can imagine what it would cost in a bar, nor the type of person who deems it necessary to order an 18% ABV beer in a setting like this. That's a Tasty Burger!... is what the burger was called, and was topped with pepperjack cheese, Texas toothpicks, jalapenos, and a chipotle mayo. The burger was fairly good, though the "Texas toothpicks" are largely a product of the Cisco corporation, and while I appreciated the attempt at a departure from the standard bun, the one I got was pretty dry and didn't work with the burger much at all. The fries were of the standard frozen type, though these were dusted with the "Squirelly Beaver" spice mixture that the pub seems to be pushing. The name is pretty childish, but it did make the fries more interesting. I wouldn't want to put it everything I'm eating, but it was nice for a spell. They've only been around since 2007, but Waddell's certainly has the cooking cometence, alcohol selection, and atmosphere for years to come.

Absolutely love this place the huge selection of beer the prices are extremely fair.. I will admit quality of food is downgraded on busy days which is understandable. If you have never been here and you live in Spokane... All I can say is you are missing out. lamb-trosity!!

I've been to Waddell's twice while in Spokane over a period of two weeks. It wasn't until my first visit that i found out that Waddell's had been featured on tv's Diner's Drive ins and Dives. Am a huge fan of the show. The two dogs i had in both visits were exemplary and delicious. The seasoned fries cooked to order were good as well. My only complaint here was the service and not that it was "bad" per se, i sat at the bar and received great service by the guys at the bar. The female servers though, going about their floor service never smiled. Not at the people entering (including myself) and not at the tables they were serving. It was odd. This was the case on both visits. I only noticed this because it was awkwardly obvious. The bar staff is happier it seems and the ladies serving the dining room look unhappy or tired or both.. it was odd. Sit at the bar for a decent experience.

Incredible burger selection. If you're trying to curb a burger craving, or just want to be a little closer to a heart attack, it'd be impossible to leave Waddell's disappointed. I've only tried a few burgers, but this place holds the title of having my absolute most favorite burger, the Back Draft (the single patty version of the Smoke Jumper). It's got a couple of my favorite things; caramelized onions, barbecue sauce and BRISKET. Brisket! On a freaking burger! The double patty burgers are huge-mungous and will probably require a fork to eat, coming to you completely unwrapped with only a toothpick to hold it together. The single patty burgers are much more manageable, coming half wrapped but still being stuffed with fixings. Get the Back Draft if you love barbecue, or at least something with Cougar Gold cheese on it.

Come to Wadell's for one reason and one reason only. They have 35 taps. 35. Beers. On tap. Excellent choices as well -- Stone, Rogue, some sort of Lambic always on tap, and then my pleasant surprise for the weekend --Seattle small brewing darlings Two Beers and Fremont Brewing. If this were a review for beer choices alone I would say 5 stars. So where do we lose points? The service has ~always~ been snotty here. Considering it has been over a year since I have last been here you would think that would have improved. Not so much. The Guy Fieri paraphernalia all over the joint is semi obnoxious as well. Wadell's is hardly a diner, drive-in, or dive. The food is ok. It isn't amazing and it isn't horrible. You can put it in your mouth and chew and get full without being sad about your meal. Portions are also insanely huge, my friend and I couldn't even come close to finishing a half-order of nachos. The hot dog choices look interesting, but I wasn't in the mood for a $9 wiener. So if you are sitting at the bar/only want a brew -- you are in for a treat. Anything else and expect your average bar food, with average service and average levels of contentment.

My husband, two of our close friends and I all visited this Food Network featured restaurant for our friend's first Father's day. Let me just say, we were all really excited to try out this awesome joint! My burger was particularly cold, so I set it aside and waited for our server (Ryan) to return. He came back to ask about our food and walked away mid-reply! We were rather shocked at the rude behavior, but continued on with the meal as I waited for another opportunity to say something. I soon realized there was no point in asking for anything else. I dropped the idea of a warmer meal, more water, another basket of fries, or another beer/dessert. Lets just say I lost my appetite. Ryan had no intention of being a server that Sunday afternoon as he leaned on the bar chatting with friends. He joked with other employees and stood at the counter literally PICKING HIS NOSE. Once he realized I was openly unimpressed by his public booger-picking, he came over to ask if we needed something. I curtly replied, "Uhhh, well, water would at least be a start, since we don't have any." I was speaking for the entire table. He returned with one new glass of water, set it in the middle of the table and walked off to the bar to resume his important conversation. When he returned the final time, I said, "I'd like to leave. Please bring our check." After chatting it up at the bar a bit more, he decided to go ahead and print off our receipt, bring it over and leave again. I finally took the check to the bar, because he couldn't pull himself away to come get it. I left angrily, long before I intended. Had my table received an inkling of service, we would have spent much more money that day. We were ready for another round of beers and a few desserts too. We cut our visit way short. Huge disappointment all around. I go out of my way to be a patient, understanding customer. I'm in food service and I understand the tribulations of the industry; however, I draw the line at rude, inattentive and downright gross. I'm paying for a service and I expect a level of decency at the very least. To make it worse, my husband called the owner, Skip, and told him the story. He prefaced the conversation with, "I don't like complaining, but I would want this information about how my restaurant staff was acting." He got a one sentence reply and goodbye. Skip did not apologize and did not care. I will not be back to Waddell's and will now go out of my way to tell people to avoid it. It makes me wonder what Guy Fieri would think of an experience like ours.

This place was packed and we were told it would be an hour wait for a party of nine. We decided to wait it out as the food is so delicious and service was fabulous. We even ordered an appetizer while waiting and had it served to us outside. We sat in the outdoor dining area and all was great again as usual. Will definitely visit again when we are in the area of Spokane.

Best pub food in town, hands down. The onion rings are to die for, and every time my mother in law comes to visit from Boston, she insists we go to Waddells for the Smokin' Burger. I love that you can get any of their amazing burgers with a veggie patty. We've recommended Waddells to MANY out of town friends, and they always say "Really? You're sending us to a sports bar??" But afterwards, they agree it's damn good food. I'd give it 5 stars if the TVs went away, but I realize that's part of being a sports bar. ;)

I have been to Waddells in the past and never been disappointed. However tonight was different. Our party of 4 were helped quickly to a table and got our drinks in a reasonable time. It took awhile for the waitperson to take our order. Two other tables were seated after our order was placed, they both got their food before we did and in the meantime the waitperson never came by to check on us. I had the smokin dog - and it was ok - but nothing special. The pasta salad was good but not remarkable. Tonight was a disappointment from my past times there. One of our party was very happy with her meal, one did not finish her burger and the other was not impressed either. I don't know why the change but I hope they go back to the old ways.

I don't often write negative reviews but we had a pretty bad experience here and will definitely not return. After we heard it was one of the stops being featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives we were anxious to try it. Our server was unpleasant and almost seemed annoyed to serve us. The view of her butt crack because of her low cut pants was just not appetizing for any of us. There was some drama with another waitress on her cell phone and she made an exit out through the patio door crying. Our impression was that the service was very unprofessional. The food was extremely greasy and heavy - gut bomb. My nine year old daughter pushed her plate away and said "enough grease!". I read so many rave reviews and perhaps it was just an off day but a bad experience for certain.

I have taken our family here several times. I've always had very friendly service here. The food is really good here. Great place for a carnivore! My wish is that they would have the "tasty bits" as an appetizer! My favorite burger is the sweet and tasty. Also I'm not a beer drinker so would prefer a hard A drink over beer, but I will say they have quite a choice in all kinds of beer.

Stopped in here for a quick bite before catching a play. The quick part was quickly dashed. Waddell's is a relatively small establishment, and it was packed to the gills. We decided to wait it out, and eventually sat down. Our wait wasn't the shortest, but service was average overall, better than some of the previous reviewers had. Everyone ordered a burger, and we were all rewarded with deliciousness. There really isn't much more to be said. Great food and presumably improved customer service equals a great dining experience. The only downsides are the small space leading to a wait during peak hours and the prices being a bit more than similar establishments.

This place has a great menu (love the ruben burger) and amazing beer selection. I think the service was just ok but the $1 kill the keg beer specials made up for that pretty quickly :-) I recommend this place to watch a game, eat a burger, or just have some beers with friends. Overall a great spot. I wish it was closer to where I live!

My wife and I just went in for a beer. Service was good. Great beer selection. They only gave us one beer list. I hate that. You always get two food menus, but for some reason you have to fight over the beer list.

Well new to Spokane so had to do the diner-drive-in-n-dives spots. My wife needed alittle convincing to go. So at first I would have missed it because it appears to be part of a yellow mini-mall...not exactly very Spokane, but coming from Sac-town this felt right at home. The decor is your typical large bar, with some seating tables. A wall of taps do in fact face you and well are interesting to look at as you eat. I would like to clear up that our server was pleasant, fast, and on top of things. Not sure about other reviewers, but we had a super nice waitress. Perhaps this problem has been addressed. I had the big-dawg burger (with the single patty) and it was tasty and cooked to order. Would certainly have it again and I would say was a definite A burger. The wife had a "not my kid's grilled cheese" with avacodo which she certainly enjoyed. The fries as others have commented are just ok with their "beaver" seasoning. Too bad because if they had great beer+great burgers+ great fries it would be 5 star all the way to go. But hey how hard are awesome fries? Throw some cheese on them Gorgonzola or something, something! Anyhow, I will definitely be back...Trivia Thursdays I believe, and definitely for the beers. Waddell's a strong 4 stars.

Waddells was a place we would go back again and again. The Smoky Gouda chicken pasta was so good. Burgers and Rube sandwich were a hit. Janes sweet potato fries are a must. Cheesecake and chocolate cake sealed the deal. Portions were big. Server seemed tired and not too friendly.

I've been here three times now. Ive had the slaughterhouse and the mushroom burger. Both were very good. The problem with this place is the servuce is terrible. The waitstaff is nice and courteous, it's not that. It's that every time we've gone there, they've been busy and way understaffed. This last time, we were told it would be a 15 minute wait, and it actually ended up being 40 minutes. When we got to our table, we were greeted in about 5 minutes. We ordered beers and the sampler appetizer. The server came back about 10 minutes later to deliver a glass of water and took our food order. Food came out and was very good, but there was never any mention about the sampler appetizer we never got. For as busy as this place is, they should have at least 2 more servers on in the evenings. Not sure if we will go back. If we do, it won't be in the evening.

Oh Waddell's, how I love thee! Ever since they opened, no visit to the folks is complete without a trip to Waddell's. I so want it to be a dive bar, but it's not shady enough, so I guess thinking of it as a pub will have to do. Great little patio outside for those lazy summer night. The ample parking never hurt, either! My go-to is the crispy chicken salad. I love it. But, it's absolutely huge, so come hungry. The folks have tried many sandwiches and burgers and never have a bad thing to say. Mum loves their sweet potato fries. Appies are pretty good and standard bar food, which makes me quite happy (ever notice how hard it is to fine good solid bar food sometimes?). Beer selection has a nice variety to it and the staff seems knowledgeable about what they have on tap. Staff is also pretty good. Fairly prompt service (it is seat yourself...good luck getting one of the two booths by the window!), never leave you wondering where your server went off to, and always remembers the regulars, which gives it that legit neighborhood bar feel.

Reminiscent of an Irish Pub with warm wood paneling and hunter green booths, Waddell's Neighborhood Pub & Grille feels like a well-established watering hole, despite being less than two years old. The Sunday Ticket and DirecTV Sports Package ensures your game will be shown on one of the seven conveniently scattered TVs. There are two more in the restrooms so you won't miss a play. There are 20 draft beers on tap, over 50 chilled bottled beers and grab your passport because Waddell's can take you around the world with the Beer Sampler: for $20 you get 20 taster-size International selections. Gameday specials include $8.50 Hefeweizen pitchers and $6 Coors Light pitchers during all NFL games. As the weather turns colder, the Guinness Stew orders pick up. This stout chunky beef stew slow cooked with carrots, potatoes, onions, and celery can be ordered with mashed potatoes to make it into shepherd's pie. Waddell's is also known for their certified angus burgers with endless seasoned fries, baby back ribs and traditional fish 'n' chips. Breakfast is offered on weekends and there's a kids menu for the littlest sports fans. As for the pub's namesake; an alligator-wrestling, bartending American League pitcher named "Rube" Waddell, who was a distant cousin to co-owner Josh Unser. He was born on Friday the 13th. Waddell was known for coming to games late and changing on-field (without underwear), traveled with a circus in the offseason and still holds the American League single-season strikeout record by a left-handed pitcher. He died on April Fools Day, 1914. Waddell's Neighborhood Pub & Grille proves a place doesn't have to be old to be a classic.

The burgers and fries were great! I enjoyed the blue cheese burger and my husband got the Rube Waddell burger. Definitely a quality burger. My favorite part was the fact that I asked for a medium cooked burger and that is actually what I got.

Visited this place today for my first time and came away with a great experience! Ordered their limited run of the Southerntier stout they had. Very good and in a cold glass to boot. I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries, which I thought were very good. I know a lot of people say some negative things about this place and I don't know if they have been trying to improve their service, but everyone that came in through the door the server behind the bar greeted them. When someone left he also said goodbye and thanks. I am a first timer here, so I can't tell you anything else other than this person's first time experience there. I didn't realize it at the time, but you can either order pints or 6 samples of their beers. The small samples are a great way to sample the choice of beers on tap.

Judging by the reviews on here, it looks like they paid attention to the crappy service reviews, because when I went there, my waiter couldn't have been nicer, and more willing to strike up a conversation. I got the Big Dawg Burger with sweet potato fries. Yes, compared to most burger joints, it's a bit slow, but once I took the first bite into my burger, that ceased to be a problem. Incredibly delicious hamburger, and was so big, that I couldn't even finish while I was there. The sweet potato fries were also good, but nothing special. The only thing stopping me from going here every day is the fact that I don't want to have too much of a good thing, and ruin what makes it so special.

The service was just fine, though I read differently before I came. We got a table faster than he said we would. Food to me was standard bar food. Mthe Big Dawg burger stood out though. I love the food! Who couldn't if eating a Rube Waddel Burger. and the dogs are outstanding! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I don't drink beer but everyone that does thought the list and the beer was fantastic. I have been there 2xs. Both times, the food was outstanding! They are not the place to go though if you are in a hurry. The service is slow to say the least. I was very sad last time I went, we had a large group that wanted join us because they heard the food was so good. I even let them know in advance that we had a large group. They made 17 of us sit at 3 tables! It took over an hour to get enough room to set the plates on. And that was outside. the very poor service took so much away from the great food that many in my party said they won't come back. That really upset me because this is a fantastic place and could do so well! I so hope that the owners can deal with this. Unless they only want 10 or 12 people a night in there place of business! Seriously, it was very bad service.

Great selection of everything: beer, hot dogs, and burgers. The hot dogs are better than the burgers if my boyfriend is to believed. But the real surprise was their lamb sandwich...yummy! Avoid the mac-and-cheese, it had no flavor. I don't know what all the whining is about the service. The first time I was there the manager (maybe owner) walked by twice just to check up on us. The wait staff has been nothing but pleasant, the bartender on the other hand....

  • Michael B.

I am not sure Wadell's qualifies as a pub. To be a pub there has to be at least 2 old locals who get to cut in line for food and drinks there every night of the week. These 2 (or more) old men also get a locals discount and there own permanent spots, regardless of who is sitting there. That being said it is pretty good. There isn't much on the menu I can eat as a vegetarian, but you can always substitute a veggie patty onto one of their burgers, and those are tasty. Then there is the beer selection. It is good, and getting better. The number of dark micros on tap has increased by about double since the first time I went here. I definitely like the place and would recommend it. It has a younger and hipper crowd than you normally see in Spokane. It isn't often you see people in their late 20s and early 30s out without kids, but that is definitely here.

Went to Waddell's for lunch yesterday with a business colleague. We were not greeted as we walked in so just sat where we wanted. Our server came by a few minutes later with menus and took our drink order. She must either hate her job more than life itself or just found out her dog died. Very short (not her height either) and unfriendly. We both decided on a burger and fries. The food came out fairly quickly and I was a little surprised to see the food served in plastic baskets and the burgers were wrapped in paper ala Red Robin. The menu was ample and prices were slightly above cheap. Plates would have seems more appropriate. My cheese burger was pretty good. Very greasy, which for me makes a good burger. The fries were well seasoned. I liked the woodwork and look of Waddell's, the service was below average, and the food decent. Lack of service ruins a dining experience for me though, so for that I give Waddell's 2 stars.

As far as pubs go, this one works well for the area in which it resides. The beer selection is good and you can see a TV for sports from just about every seat in the place. It's not all that big, and can get crowded quickly on the weekends when seating outside isn't piratical. The sliders are my personal favorite here, as are the garlic fries. The thing that sets this place apart, and the reason for my return business, is the fun atmosphere. There are a selection of games available for patrons to play and the staff doesn't get bent out of shape when there is a spirited game of War being played by people that have been drinking several of their excellent beers.

Fries are seasoned with something like johnny's salt and sugar. They're amazing. The rest of the food is about what you'd expect for a bar in a strip mall in Spokane. Be warned, they serve no hard A, only beer and wine.... only one booth in the place.

Another disappointing night. Just stopped in for beer and appetizer. Busy, but not slammed, so sat at bar. Very slow and inattentive service. Ordered cheese sticks/motz. There are not cheese sticks, but half rounds, however were way over breaded and grossly over salted. They seem to be sliding downhill as time goes on.
