The food was quite decent. I wouldn't say high end, but priced right and huge portions. More than enough for two people on one plate! The decor is very dated, but the place is pretty clean and not overly worn (didn't notice any ripped upholstery or snagged carpet. There is dog stuff everywhere but not really with any rhyme or reason. It would be cute clustered here and there, but instead it is just randomly placed all over the walls. The real reason to visit is the staff though. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was sitting down at my grandma's table (which kind of fit the decor lol). I didn't get the waitress or hostess' names, but they were extremely kind and attentive. She checked with me periodically throughout my meal and I loved watching them interact with other people in the restaurant. Without the great staff, I'm not sure if this restaurant would warrant such a high rating, but they really took the whole experience over the top for me. I think I will be becoming a regular patron to Molly's Family Restaurant specifically for this reason. I sure hope they treat these ladies right because they are what will make or break the place.

I met a friend at Molly's one morning. While waiting for my friend to arrive, I noticed all the customers coming out with styrofoam containers. ALL the people came out with one! I ordered a Molly's Mess and my friend ordered the Molly's Country Mess. We seriously should of split one mess! They were huge portions. And I found a hair in mine.... yum. The bacon in my mess did not taste like bacon that was grilled and chopped. It tasted more like real bacon bits shaken from a container. Which is okay on a salad but in my breakfast, I want real bacon that you just cooked up in the most recent 24 hours. The staff was friendly, attentive and I liked them fine. They seemed to know their job well and knew some of the regular clients too. It's 50/50 whether I go to Molly's again. I doubt I will. I much prefer Frank's or Chaps.

They sat me quickly, and the waitress, Lesley, was friendly. I ordered the Molly's Mess. The food was eh to say the most. It is packaged gravy mix, undercooked veggies. I spent $11 for something I could have made at home. I ordered a half order since it was just me. It only saved $2. If I had known, I'd have ordered the full and taken it home. The owner came out of the kitchen a couple times, to berate staff and then disappear again. Granted, not the smoothest service, seemed like there was probably a new waitress on staff. But with the window so close to the dining room, he could keep his voice a bit lower. The other waitresses made no attempt to hide how much they disliked working. Even telling a customer they would rather go smoke weed in the parking lot. Fine if that's how you spend your time off, but don't work customer service if you don't like your customers. Same waitress was rude to kitchen staff on more than one occasion. Don't piss off the people cooking the food! According to other patrons, Franks has better food. I will be trying some other spots in town before I come back here.

Great service.... Terrible food. Breakfast ribeye tough as leather, pancakes bland and tasteless and eggs were eggs. On the upside coffee was good.

I not only savor the food at Molly's. The service can be very special. I witnessed an event with one of the regular customers and a waitress that I didn't get the name of but it really touched my heart and rather than explain it here I would encourage anyone who hasn't tried Molly's give it a whirl. You can feed your whole family there for a reasonable cost and the servings are more than ample, way more.

  • Kelli C.

Good, hearty diner food. The Molly's mess in a bread bowl is out of this world! Coffee is hot and fresh, coco is piled high with whipped cream. The service is friendly and fast. I'd recommend everybody to come and try Molly's!!!

  • Sharifa N.

Great hashbrowns. Decent crepes, not as thin as I normally like them but huge portions. Food is cheap considering the quantity. Would definately split a meal next time. French toast is average. Service was great and fast. Would come here again to support this local business, but with kids and not true foodies.

This is a must stop for breakfast. It is a busy Sunday and it's amazing how hard all the employees are working and taking care of all the customers. It's a smaller place so they are maneuvering around each other like it's nothing. I've seen all the waitress carry like 10 plates each without dropping them. Everyone has also been so nice even being as busy as they are. The good is fresh and amazing. Huge portions. A pot of coffee for each table.

Ended up here after tried another place that had way to long of a wait. Seated quickly and it was busy. Server was slow to take order but food came of really fast!! Good size menu with lots of options! The sausage and cheese omelet super yummy and huge! Also tried Molly's mess yummy and again huge portion! I was really happy with the food! Way better then normal diner food! Come hungry or plan for left overs!!

  • Brock J.

This is the best diner in Spokane. Never gotten bad food here. Portions will leave you with left overs and the food is all relatively inexpensive. The only problem with the restaurant is the location. It's in an area of Spokane where you will most likely see homeless people wondering around. Wish their was a Molly's in the Valley.

A great family atmosphere. Good home cooked food at reasonable prices. Wait staff are friendly. I have been coming here for a long time and always enjoy my meals.

  • Jesse C.

It's a breakfast diner that knows what it is doing. A popular downtown breakfast location for "regulars". We enjoyed the hash browns eggs and toast.

  • Michelle A.

Breakfast food is amazing!!! I visited my family and they brought me here for breakfast. Everyone ordered something different and we all shared. All of the different dishes were tasty and filling! I personally ordered an omelet with a side of a waffle and was able to share it with my toddler... And still had good left over. Definitely a place that I would visit again! Happy dining!

Just finished breakfast and now I see why Molly's has low stars. This place is OK, but it's kind of a dump compared to the competition. For the exact same price elsewhere you can get better food in a much nicer atmosphere at other places. The staff was very friendly and attentive once they decided who had our table. The coffee wasn't bad, and it's nice that they leave a carafe at your table. The portions were giant, and the food came out quickly and was piping hot (in a good way).

    (3)
  • Devon R.

Love this restaurant!! Food is always terrific and the service is amazing. For the price, you get way more food than expected. No hassle for special orders. It's worth the wait during rush times.

My family of five comes to Spokane to visit family every few months and when we go out for breakfast, we always end up at a certain "European" place on North Division, which has been our preferred spot, that is, until we tried Molly's. We called ahead to see if they could seat seven of us (I forgot it was previously an iHop). They said "no problem" and as we arrived approx. 15 min. later, our table was waiting for us, complete with ice waters and two thermoses full of coffee. Talk about being taken care of. Theresa was our server, and she was perfect. She was super friendly and so helpful guiding us through what size of omelette we should get for our kids who think that they've already outgrown the kid's menu (their "adult" omelets are huge with six eggs!) Our food came pretty quickly and boy were the helpings big. And everything from the eggs ordered as omelets, fried medium-hard and scrambled, we're cooked perfectly. The hash browns were the grated kind and tasted excellent (as opposed to the previously frozen, heated up potato cube kind). We all left stuffed and happy, and now have found the best breakfast place in Spokane for our family.

Chose to eat here because of the reviews. Not very impressed with the lunch. I'll admit the amount of food was a good deal but that's all this place really has going for it. Service was ok. Wasn't a fan of the environment either. Probably won't return unless it's for breakfast...

    (2)
  • Angie N.

This was the first restaurant my family and I ate at in Spokane. We weren't all that hungry so the four of us split two sandwiches, a reuben and a French dip. They were both decent but nothing special. We did eat there at lunch however, so I kind of wish we ate there for breakfast because that's their specialty. It's a good place for kids, but the cleanliness is a bit questionable. Pretty good, but didn't love it.

  • Shawn L.

Wow! Went here one morning when I was looking for a breakfast place. OMG! the food was amazing and the service was the best!! I was hungry for Chicken Fried Steak and my server asked if I wanted it beef, pork or chicken. Hmmm so many choices. So glad I tried the chicken, best breakfast I have had in a long time. The chicken came out lightly breaded, tender and juicy, the hashbrowns were crispy and very good. So much food and it was all delicious. Will go back again. :-)

If you are looking for a classic greasy spoon breakfast house, this is your spot. I personally prefer more creative meals and friendlier wait staff.

  • Wesley R.

A very old school diner with a warm friendly feel when you walk in. The owners must love dogs because there are ceramic puppies all around. Haven't actually got my meal just yet but alot of selection and smells good in hear. So the meal portions are very large and i had the country mess and it was amazing!!! Perfect soft potatoes, sweet onions, peppers and awesome chicken fried steak coverd with a perfect country gravy...

    (4)
  • Andrew J.

The food was okay. The prices were good. The service was okay. What I didn't like, was the fast pace. I felt herded through the dining experience, and hurried out the door to free up a table. Not that there were people waiting. Maybe the servers were overworked? Whatever it was, stress was more prominent than a nice relaxed meal.

    (2)
  • Rey J.

Once I saw the Molly's Mess, (giant bread bowl) we decided we had to come here for breakfast. It was huge! Would probably order next time with out the bread silo...veggies were still crisp, which I like. The gravy was oh so tasty! I also got the campfire roasted marshmellow hot chocolate, so yummy. The 3 star rating, was because the service, was just ok, you tell they were very busy and possibly short staff, also my hubbys chicken fried steak was nothing to write home about.

  • David D.

Real food, good prices, good service. Not a plastic cookie cutter faux American diner, the real thing. I'm 60 and remember local American family restaurants. The food tasted real and plentiful, price fair and service friendly, not fancy but clean. In other words Molly's.

I came here for brunch with my family on the last day of our visit. Had no problem calling ahead to reserve a table for our large group. Molly's is a typical breakfast/ lunch joint, food was just OK. I had the pigs in a blanket (3 pancakes wrapped over 3 sausage links). My plate was filling but wasn't anything special. Prices here were reasonable and you get a large amount of food. Not bad overall but would look for other brunch places first in the area.

  • Chris D.

I love this place for breakfast. They have friendly staff, the food is pretty good, and it seems like they always get you seated and eating pretty quickly. I've heard their eggs Benedict is really good, but I usually go for one of their scrambles. You never leave this place hungry.

    (3)
  • Alan A.

Service was very, very good. Food portions were large and priced reasonably well. We really enjoyed breakfast as a family here. Excellent food!!

  • Zach M.

Oh Molly... we've had quite a run haven't we. We've been through a lot together but I keep coming back to you. I've tried to leave you for others but there's just something that I can't leave behind. I can't really put my finger on it. Maybe it's the solid portions, the consistently fast service, or the traditional diner food that makes me think of a simpler time. You certainly aren't the fanciest place in town Molly, but your prices are great and you aren't pretending to be something you're not. I'll be back to see you soon. Love, Zach

  • Gail J.

This place is straight up scary, located in a dank little part of Spokane that looks appropriate for crackheads and miscreants. (I'm not saying that my friend didn't fit in, but I most certainly did not!). First, you'll get the sense that the place isn't exactly scrubbed to polish. Have you ever been somewhere and just knew, knew, knew that roaches outnumbered people. This is money, baby! I had the cheese omelette, which I'll admit was fluffy with tons of gooey cheese. I did find a rogue piece of lettuce inside. Cooked lettuce looks just a smidge too much like an errant booger. Disconcerting. They'll put a carafe of coffee on your table, but it's watered down and the mug may or may not be clean. The pancakes are super flat and dense, almost like frisbees. The service is friendly and helpful. The attentive servers almost made a 3 star joint.

  • Dave P.

I stopped in this morning and was pretty full and when I requested a table and not a booth she said I'd have to wait but clearly there was a table for 2 and no one was waiting for it! Won't be back, very rude.

Best breakfast in town. Don't care who you are. Large portions good price relaxed diner atmosphere. I order the Mollys favorite or country omelet usually. Soooo good.

  • Steve W.

I first went there on New Year's Day 2 years ago. It was the only one we could get seated right away. My wife and I have been back more times than I can count and will be going back till we can't go anymore. I have never had a bad meal and there coffee is outstanding! The service is great staff is always funny and friendly. And I have yet to finish a full meal a lot of good food on those plates.

Highly recommend for breakfast! Cooked our eggs perfectly. The buckwheat pancakes and patty sausage were so tasty. Our waitress was exceptional. Nothing fancy, just fresh home style food. Don't let the restaurant exterior discourage you.

Wow... how did this place get this little of star rating? This place is great!!! Great atmosphere and the best service! The food is excellent and the portions are insane. Great place, love it.

The slogan on their window says: "Best Breakfast in Town" and I say damn right it is!

Waffles were fabulous. But the scrambled eggs not so good. and the bacon almost seemed too "smoky flavored" to be real bacon. I didn't eat it. Pretty good decaf coffee. Nice booths.

Went here for brunch today and found the 4-star rating average to be on point with my experience. I was attracted to Molly's Family Restaurant because of the reviews claiming good food, large portions, cheap prices...sounds too good to be true! I ordered the Waffle Stuffer (malted belgian waffle with eggs and ham on top) and thought it was very tasty. I am a huge fan of syrup on eggs so if you aren't, well you are missing out! My hubby thought it looked gross for that very reason, but he ate his words (no pun intended!) after he tried a bite and agreed that it was a good combination. My hubby ordered the Eggs Benedict and it also was very good. We also ordered a cinnamon roll (hoping it would arrive before our food) and it was good, but I have definitely had better (Cottage Cafe comes to mind...). The cinnamon roll tasted fresh like it had just come out of the oven, but we expected that it would come before our meal as most places serve it. I would not describe the portions as "huge" as many other reviewers did. I felt the portions were pretty in line with comparable restaurants. We ate 90% of what was on our plates and left feeling full, but not "gut busting" full. The total for the two dishes and the cinnamon roll came out to just under $22. Not bad! So I've covered the food portion of the experience, now for the customer service...I understand that places like this can get busy, but the servers need to be aware of the little signals they give that make customers feel rushed. We appreciate the server clearing our empty plates from the table, but don't take the silverware when we're obviously still enjoying the remaining food on the table. Service was not bad, but I wouldn't say it was great either. I am not a huge fan of diner food (how hard is it to make grease infused food taste good?) so in Molly's defense, I would have to be blown away (by both food and service) to give a restaurant that serves diner style food a 5 out of 5.

Huge breakfast plates! You won't leave hungry that's for sure! Friendly waitstaff! Food arrived quickly.

    (4)
  • Clover A.

OMG SO MUCH FOOD. The omelettes are 6 eggs. WTF? Who can eat that much food? I had the waffle with eggs/bacon inside. Inside is a stretch- they cut a hole in the middle and put them in, put the lid back on. It was good though. The service was great, the prices were high-ish for Spokanistan ($9 entrees) but not too bad especially if you're hungry. Converted I-Hop with lots of staff so you never have an empty cup, and with that much food, you'll likely not have an empty plate unless you get a box.

    (3)
  • Lorrie L.

Great food! Some of the best biscuits and gravy ever! My only neg would be the cleanliness of the place. Waitress was great.

  • Steven T.

Let's get real Spokanites - Breakfast food is the cheapest food for a restaurant to make, if you are going to a dineresque type breakfast joint and spending more than 10 per person you are getting ripped off (Are you feeling me Frank's, Old European, Wall street diner people). At Molly's you get the same food, but more of it for less money. Why would want to spend almost double for the slop on a plate??????? It's just breakfast people and Molly's does it just as good if not better - but hey people it's your money. PS Their lunches here are much better than the aforementioned places so there is absolutely no contest there.

    (4)
  • Jessica C.

Although not impressed with the look and feel for it is a dive. The portions are huge and the food is reasonably priced. Not to mention very good! If your really hungry it's a great breakfast place if you don't care about location.

SMALL TROUGHS FOR PLATES!!! REDONKULOUS! Molly's Favorite was delicious! Family friendly & great food!

  • Johnny N.

They claim that Molly was a dog. I say it was an Ewok. Either way, this is your run of the mill family diner. We came in here for breakfast after stopping by Franks and was faced with a 35 minute wait. No waiting here, but it was still buzzing. I ordered the hash and eggs, which were good and done correctly (over medium, please). The side of biscuits and gravy were also good, though it needed a bit more pepper. Everyone seemed satisfied with their orders, but the big winners were the milkshakes... strawberry, huckleberry, and a special combo of the two. Get the struckleberry!

Good good good! Been here twice now, quite late at night for dinner after much else in Spokane has closed. The breakfast sandwich w/ sausage is ridiculously good, I mean RIDIIIIICCCCULOUSLY. We've had the same server both timed and she's way sweet and chatty. I really really like this place, REALLY. There's a little bit of everything on the menu and I'm going to assume everything is pretty good!

We stopped in here for dinner. We split the 3 piece friend chicken and it came with vegetable of the day and beef and barley soup. The portion was extremely filling even for two people. The chicken was fresh and crispy and not too greasy. Very pleasing. The beef and barley soup was home made and filled with beefy bits. The vegetable of the day? Expected canned peas or corn. We got fresh asparagus! What a treat. We definitely suggest dropping in.

Brunch. Trucker style. I ate here 5 hours ago and Im still full/waddling around with a food baby. This is diner food with portions that make you want to cry. I tried valiantly to finish my biscuits & gravy -- but with 3 eggs and two giant sausage patties to accompany it, well... I had no hope of finishing. My friend had the chicken fried steak that was as big as the platter it was served on, and another had one of those 6 egg omlettes. No one finished... The food itself is standard diner fair. I don't want to think about how much butter was used in my meal but it made it pretty darn tasty. Coffee is brought by the pot to your table -- and if you run out they quickly give you more. Price seemed decent (especially for HOW MUCH you get), and the service is friendly and personable. A good place to stuff yourself silly when you know you won't be eating again for several more hours.

Five people for breakfast on a Monday. Not busy until lunch, then full. The good: 1. Prices, prices, prices...very cheap. 2. Huge amounts of food, definitely take home in your future. 3. Waitress was fun and a pleasure to talk to. 4. Carrot cake was massive and very good. They order $50 dollar carrot cakes from Wisonsin and cut them up and sell them for $5 a slice. That is cost...no profit built in. I would be surprised if anyone could finish the whole slice themselves. See photo for a cake in the fridge. The not so good: 1. Reason for 3 stars instead of 4...Had the steak and egg special for $8.99. The rib eye steak was inedible. Full of gristle and I literally could not cut more than two bites out of it without doggie chew toy mixed in. Everything else was fine.

Molly's is definitely worth a try if you are hungry and want to eat in the kind of restaurant that I expect was common in the middle of the 20th century. I don't write this as a slam. I'm always a bit nervous when a restaurant has too much on the menu. We got a huge array of food - you get lots of sides and choices with many of the entrees - and our choices ranged from so-so (fried chicken) to very good (country fried steak). Our server was friendly, and I expect that this would be a good place to stop for a slice of pie and/or a milkshake when passing through Spokane.

We just completed our breakfast and to the owners, I really like your establishment and anxious to return....ok why only 2 stars? The waitress forgot most of what we order (she wrote it down as well), after the 3rd attempt we told her don't worry about it. We had not ordered anything special, so I am not sure how she failed to get it correct.. Food was good and well prepared. Another review will come after my next visit.

Well the first sign of trouble should have been the restaurant mascot Molly. Her image was everywhere. But lets talk about the food. By far the worst breakfast I have ever attempted to eat. "Mollys Mess" and it is exactly as is sounds. Just a big pile of food so unappealing Im sure the mascot itself would put her nose up to it. Get it if you like half a chopped raw onion mixed in with your undercooked eggs smothered in a gravy like paste. What the hell was thinking. It's unfortunate because everything around me looked pretty good. Mine Not! The waitress did ask what she could do to make it right. I did not think they sold Tums at the counter so I high tailed it to Rite Aid. Now the kick in the ass, I have to change my clothes because they stink like greasy diner.

After driving around looking for breakfast on Labor Day 2013, we ended up at Molly's, who sat us right away. Even though the food was prompt shortly after ordering, we were very unaware as to what was going to happen next. Within minutes of our foods arrival, the ceiling starting dripping water directly into one of our plates. As we attracted some attention, the waitress came over and took the plate full of food that was being spoiled by god knows what coming from the ceiling. So we got up and took the rest our food to the adjacent table with no help, words or support from the wait staff. When we finally received the missing food back, we had to fight for silverware, water and coffee that was still missing. Still not much attention or apologies from anyone. When we finished and asked for part of the check to be possibly be taken care of, that request brought a grungy grumpy man over to our table asking if there was "A Problem"! After losing that battle with a stubborn, supposed manager we paid in full and tipped generously. And as we were leaving he asked us to never come back. And the food was really not up to par either.

I would not stoop to call Molly's a greasy spoon. It reminded me of The Breakfast House-a place I like to go to in San Diego. They were quick with the coffee here and the OJ was good. My son enjoyed his ham-and-cheese omelette and hot chocolate. My pancakes were perfect. It was also a quick and easy walk from our nearby hotel . I didn't notice that the area here-on the "outskirts of downtown Spokane" was particularly downscale and I felt perfectly safe. But what do I know-I'm just another California fruit-and-nut! Molly's Family Restaurant was charming and cozy in a "quaint" type of way and I found it to be just what is claims to be: down home and family-style. Yeah, there were tourist RV's in the parking lot but I also saw a lot of prosperous-looking business men eating breakfast too. The food is not some spectacular gourmet gastronomical endeavor but it is excellent for what it is: down-home pleasant fare. We came back later and had lunch-a salad for me and my son enjoyed a juicy hamburger and fries- that was good too. The waitress was very friendly and chatty. She was giving us advice on what to do and seemed as sincere as the delicious food that is served at Molly's.

I went here for a quick lunch on the way to a meeting at Deaconess Med Ctr, which is a short 2 minute walk from Molly's. I ordered a BLT w/ onion rings and iced tea. No complaints at all with anything about this restaurant. Service was quick and friendly. Food was tasty and was more than I could eat - and I'm a pretty big guy. If you like onion rings, this is your place. They are huge and are cooked perfectly. Total with tax / without tip was $8.39, which was a great deal for the amount of food. I was at the table closest to the cooking area. One thing that really stood out was how clean everything was - even the inside of the range hood was spotless - something pretty rare for this type of restaurant. The rustic decor might mislead you visually, but this place is clean! I will go back.

4.5 stars. Awesome. Had breakfast with a buddy here. Good price, large portions and cooked to order. Egg whites done right (no egg beaters would be my only issue here but the whites were done so legit). No regrets.

Used to be good. Seems they've reduced quantity and quality to keep the prices the same. Attitude of wait staff has slipped as well.

Umm, the worst food I've ever had served at a restaurant. I took 5 kids to eat breakfast around 8 PM. We didn't want to stoop to Denny's so we gave this a try. What a mistake! The eggs were rubbery, the bacon was thin and under cooked, the french toast was flavorless. When the waitress came we asked about the milkshakes. She listed several flavors and she said they were all to die for, but we're lucky not to be dead. We ordered four milkshakes and left them all virtually untouched. We tried out the chocolate milkshake and it must have had some marshmallow stuff in it. My kids said it tasted like mud! The waitress was very friendly. When she asked about the food and shakes, we didn't want to be mean, because she seemed to think the food was so delicious. We left a generous tip and walked out busting up over this awful restaurant experience, the woefully outdated decor, the weird mascot "Molly" which looked like a cross between a poodle and demented cat, and went somewhere else to eat.

Don't let the shabby outside and surrounding fool you. This has excellent breakfast. I love my overpriced Old European like the next person. But you cannot beat this food and price. Expect to have an embarrassingly large plate set in front of you. Lots of food!

Molly's doesn't look like much, no, but it's a wonderful little breakfast place right off the highway and not too far from Spokane's River Park Square. It looks like it was once an IHOP... I generally like IHOPs, but I am so glad that Molly's is here. We've come here for hangover breakfasts, family breakfasts and lunches after graduations, and just for breakfast in general. Portions are generally huge, and service is generally good. For the few reviews commenting on it looking like it's in a crappy place meant for truckers: it is right off the highway so I know a lot of different types of hungry people would stop in and I don't see why that would be a problem (although I imagine that trying to park a semi nearby would not be easy), and I've been to plenty of truck stops around the country, this is not somewhere I would lump into "worst truck stops I've been to". It's in a less than appealing part of Spokane as far as looks, but it is just on the lining of some very spendy and fancy places (Steam Plant Grill, Melting Pot, Twigs in River Park Square) and a very good high school on the other side of the highway.

Great milkshakes! One of our favorite places when we have a hankering for a well made milkshake.

Molly's may not look like much - the building looks a little tired. However, the service was good, the food was good, the servings were large, and the price was right. And, they serve Cascade Glacier Ice Cream. I had the lemon meringue pie ice cream; it was excellent!

It does not look great. It is not in a great area of town. BUT... The treat you great, the food is very good, and the quantities are huge. My family and I have eaten here a few times and NEVER had a meal that was not at-least a 4 out of 5. We have had food ranging from fish and chips to taco salad to breakfast food to steaks and everything has been great. I am a picky person and it must say something to say I NEVER found anything I did not like. My wife did have one complaint and that was that the hand made milkshake had so many bananas in it that she could not suck them them through the straw. One other thing... To the person who reviewed this place and complained that they gave him to much food.... DON'T EAT IT. You must be a democrat if you want someone else to decide how much food is good for you. Decide for yourself. Take home the left overs.

Ugh! First off, I want to know *why* a crappy establishment like this has a line of customers coming out the front door? Anyways, I ordered the Cheese blintzes. Now, you would think when you order Cheese Blintzes for breakfast, they would have ricotta in it right? Nope, not here! Instead mine were filled with watery cottage cheese. I had a choice of fruit topping with it, which I thought was a fruit compote, but no, just fresh fruit (blueberries) that weren't very fresh at all, and were wrinkly. Yuck! Barf! And that's *all* you get with you Blintzes, no toast, eggs, etc. When you have a particular item on a menu such as what I ordered, it should be descriptive, and I guess I just assumed it would be filled with luscious, creamy, silky ricotta. So, yes I'm disappointed. My friend ordered a cheddar and ham omelet. It was huge! The ham was really really tasty in it though, but other than that, he didn't see fireworks when eating it. He got sourdough toast with it, which was somewhat (lightly) burnt. I got coffee, which ok, just like any other restaurant. After we got home, I had to, ahem, "use" the bathroom (code word: food poisoning). I had the craps, which put a damper on the "mood" we were trying to set in the bedroom. Diarrhea and intimacy *does not* go very well together. Thank you Molly's for "crapping" up my Saturday and embarrassing me in front of my "friend."

This is my first review. Went here based on location and Yelp reviews. Whoever said too much food is right, but the solution to that is not eat it all. It's okay. Went here with the family and everyone was satisfied. Many choices for breakfast and lunch. Food was hot, fresh, and yummy. Giving five stars based on the type of establishment it is. Not a five star restaurant, but in it's catergory, absolutly!!!! Thank you Yelpers for your help. Oh - did I mention friendly service?

I took my first trip ever to Spokane this past weekend. On the way in to town I saw that Molly's has a sign on the outside proclaiming that it's the best breakfast in town. Since this is the only breakfast place I've been to in Spokane, I can't verify if that claim is true. However, it was a pretty awesome breakfast. Judging by the number of people in the parking lot, a lot of other folks agree. While Molly's has a lunch and dinner menu, it looks like they really do specialize in breakfast judging by the number of selections. Many different omlettes and pancakes. They also have fruit topped crepes and cheese blintzes. I went with some blueberry crepes. The serving sizes are huge I got three large crepes covered in fruit and whipped cream for I think around $6 or $7. They also have horchatta as well as a horchatta milkshake which I had to try. Oh man, it's freaking awesome, even though the shake is a bit thin (which they warned me about up front). One of the other signs at Molly's reads "You'll never leave hungry", that I can definitely say it true.

Totally dissapointed today. We have been to Molly's numerous times over the past few years and always had a positive experience - all thing change! Today was terrible, the portions were smaller, the service was VERY slow and neglectful. They couldn't get the eggs correct - the server wanted to argue about their cooking. The (formerly excellent) omelets only had enough ham for something 1/3 the size! The hashbrowns from my wife's plate were perfect - my were nearly raw. It was just plain terrible! Our server never asked how our meals were or refilled coffee or anything! We left feeling less than happy with our experience. I don't believe we will be returning in the near future - time to fine a new breakfast spot.

I don't know what I was expecting from Molly's, but likely not very much. This family diner is set inside an old IHOP, and I actually used to frequent the place when it was part of the chain. But once it had a mop-dog as its iconic face, I kinda never went back (until invited out for breakfast). It would be difficult for a regular diner to get more than three stars from me, but I might just have given it to Molly's had the portions not been so enormous. Yes, that's right... had the portions not been so enormous. Sometimes I just want to go to a restaurant that feeds me the amount I actually need in a meal, rather than what six of me and half of the current population needs in a meal. When a platter of a pound or more of food arrives with a gallon of gravy I always wonder... what is it they're trying to hide here? Having said that, the food was decent, if a bit on the cardiac-unfriendly side. I do like to see a slightly more "fresh fruits and vegetables" vibe in the menu, but I also know that this will likely raise my expectations to unreasonable heights. The service was just what you want from a diner, and the food came fast and hot and mountainous. I believe I should have known what to expect when I saw that the motto was "nobody leaves hungry." I don't really know anything about the rest of the menu. My friend had an assortment of pancakes that was difficult to look at (I'm not fond of 'cakes), though I did see both potato and buttermilk. And if my memory serves, he may have even had strawberries atop his stack. Darn. Now I know what to do. Next time? A side of fresh strawberries, please. Hold the gravy.

Outstanding restaurant for your basic breakfast fare. Massive quantities of food; best to split the 6-egg omelets but a bargain with most of them at under $10 and no charge for sharing. The quality of the food was good and the service was fast and friendly. Great value!

Amazing greasy spoon. The best Chicken Fried Steak I've had west of OK. Molly's is a small town coffee shop in the middle of (ok, the edge of) dowtown and provides the best quality/price combination in Spokane. It ain't fancy, but it's delicious and the service is hyper-fast and attentive. The portions are huge! Try the country-fried steak and eggs ($7.99) and don't plan on eating for the rest of the day. I've only ever had breakfast at Molly's and wouldn't want to challenge them on anything other. When it comes to breakfast, this is the tastiest, best bang-for-your buck in Spokane. Come hungry!

GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! This place is awesome. Our server Peggy was fa-nominal, didn't miss a beat. I ordered the hash omelet for the first time in my life, it was huge (6 eggs), and very delicious. My girlfriend got bacon and eggs, and opted for pancakes in lieu of hash-brown's, and received THREE 6 inch pancakes. Needless to say we didn't have to order food for the kids.

This was my first time eating at Molly's, and I must say I am now going to become a regular. Other than needing an update inside and out, I have no major complaints. Fast, friendly service and the restaurant is cleaner than most of it's kind. I am giving 4 of 5 stars due to the fact that it was only my first time eating here. I had the Hash and eggs......and was I impressed. My Hash was crispy and Delicious. I had my eggs over easy and they where perfect....so perfect in fact that I don't think any place I've ever eaten breakfast in town has ever cooked my eggs right (honestly I might like them over medium, which is how most places serve over easy) I also had the Home-style O'Brien potatoes, I must say that they did fall a little short.....the potatoes where cooked nicely but the onions and peppers where just put on top instead of mixed in. My rye toast was also so so, not their best. My girlfriend had the chicken fried steak, eggs over medium, and crispy O'Brien Hashed browns. The steak was huge and crispy, eggs perfect, but again the browns cooked to perfection but the onions and peppers not mixed in, her sour dough toast was burnt, but promptly replaced. My girlfriends sister had a bacon and cheese omelet, regular browns, and toast. The omelet was enormous, overflowing with bacon and cheese, and again perfect eggs. She had no complaints on the browns or toast. My 2 year old son had a kids breakfast, and he ate all of it with no hassles. All in all I was impressed will be back soon.

A few Sunday mornings ago, we looked up 'breakfast restaurants' here on Yelp and this one was #1 - so off we went. Some reviews recommended the Chicken Fried Steak (guess it's one of their specialties.) I've never had it and was hesitant, and I also felt like having an omelette,. I was thinking what to get, when lo and behold there was the Country Omelette which had diced chicken fried steak and onions in it :) Came w/hashbrowns on the side- covered in country gravy. I thought the hashbrowns would be covered in gravy but the omelette arrived covered in it. I DIDN't mind because it made it surprisingly good. (and I could therefore put ketchup on my potatoes as I usually do :) One of the best country gravies I've had. My husband and son kept dipping everything in it and also eating my omelette. Oh well, it was good and there was a good bit leftover to take home. (My son snuck it out of the fridge later and finished it for me...) Husband had the 9 oz. ribeye w/eggs over easy and said it was excellent. Son had the California Chicken sandwich w/fries and really liked it. The meat was all white meat and a thick filet. Oh I didn't mention that the omelette was cooked perfectly, just the way I like it. I left off one star for the decor which could use an update and the curtains and faux flowers could use a little dusting/replacing. It was just a little bit more pricey compared to some breakfast places in town, but to me it was worth it.

Went here for breakfast while visiting my parents. My parents go here fairly regularly and the waitstaff know them. While the food was okay, nothing special, I found our waitress to be incredibly annoying. When we walked in, the waitress completely ignores me, though I'm the first of our group. She turns to my mother and says "got the kid this time huh?" Mind you, I'm 41 years old. As we're walking to our table, she says "so how long you got the kid for?" She asked both my parents if they wanted coffee and never asked me. I honestly wouldn't been surprised if she had asked my parents what I wanted to eat. And every single sentence included a "honey" or "hon" or "sweetie." While that might be endearing to the regulars, I found it very annoying.

I'm pretty sure this is where the local transients go to eat. There were quite a few flies. The food was cheap but you get what you pay for and a few hairs besides. They do not use quality ingredients. Everything tasted regrettably. We paid and left quickly. I would not return.

Really solid breakfast place. Service was fast and friendly and the food was exactly what you look for in going to a place like Molly's. They live up to their saying that you won't leave hungry. Interior was nothing new or fancy but was clean. A classic breakfast cafe!

Sweet servers! The breakfast is fantastic! I don't know what is in their country gravy, but it is addictive. The chicken fried steak, pancakes, bacon are all phenomenal. If you'd like a down-home breakfast, go here!

First time there but won't be last (whenever I go to Spokane). Ordered German sausage (made in-house) & eggs w/hash browns, toast (2 slices), & coffee (which came in a carafe). When I walked in (solo), waitress sat me at booth for 2 until she noticed I had newspaper with me. Before I could sit down she directed me to take a booth for 4 so I could spread out my paper. Checked back with me more than once even though I had coffee right there. That is S-E-R-V-I-C-E. Not fancy but down to earth.
