I went here solely on the fact that reviews raved about this place and it wasn't too far from a friend's house--we were hungry, didn't feel like cooking, and decided to go to a diner. I don't know if it's because it was a holiday or not, but the service nor the food was that good. My friend bought a sandwich and didn't like how undercooked his fries on the side were. I had the apple cinnamon waffle. No syrup provided, hardly any apples, and the eggs were chewy & fairly gross. Not a great breakfast by any means. They were good about refiling my coffee, so that gives 'em an extra star from me.

Flo-Anna's Diner caught our attention for breakfast on a Saturday. We knew it would be good...so many home-cooked style items on the menu! We had liver and eggs for breakfast. They weren't on the menu, but we asked if they could accommodate us. They did and it was delicious! The service was fast and friendly, the tables and chairs are large enough to be comfortable, the portions were large. But bottom line is, the food is "home cooked". My wife nailed it, she said, "this is the way food used to taste in the good old days". We'll definitely be back.

Not very impressed with the food. I ordered a vegetarian omelette with hashbrowns, and my boyfriend ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. Both orders of potatoes were dry and flavorless. The omelette and chicken sandwich were also very bland, and the eggs were rubbery. If I'm spending almost $10 a plate I expect better. Shoulda gone to Waffle House.

There are many mysteries in the universe, few are as baffling as the positive reviews on this place. Flo Annas puts the grease in greasy spoon. It is dirty. The food was disgusting, the coffee one step below Farmers Brothers. The minute we sat down we questioned why we were there, followed by regret when the food showed up. This place is disgusting.

Stumbled upon this diner near our weekend rental on a long weekend. Quick and friendly service with a great breakfast menu of home-cooked food. Enjoyed the biscuits and gravy with eggs sand bacon. Just what we were looking for!

So so good. It must be under new management. I last came here over 5 years ago and it was ok but now it's really good. Great service great food and so down home and welcoming. For sure! Come in for some breakfast and a mimosa why not!

*Good ole fashioned diner with the usual but a greek twist *Great value for the money and feels so homey albeit a little worn *Coffee toppers every 4-5 minutes!

Went for a late Sunday morning breakfast. Not a good meal. Orange juice ordered but never delivered. Veggie omelet is really just a pile of scrambled not mixed up very much. Hash browns hard on the outside and cold on the inside. Cinnamon roll very sugary and not the nice yeasty homemade type one hopes for. Worst of all, the pancakes are like rubber and even difficult to cut through. Of course, the final draw was the fake sugar maple flavored syrup served with them. Coffee was also pretty blah. Not a place we will visit for breakfast again.

My bf goes here for breakfast all the time since we live across the street.. FINALLY got to go with him Got the side of bacon- 4 HUGE strips LIKE HUGE. veryyy tasty NOT greasy, legit good bacon. Then I had the waffle with strawberries and whip cream..... BEST WAFFLE OF MY LIFE. Our waitress was on top of our water and coffee and our food came out quickly. Their early bird specials are pretty legit too if you get up early enough. 10/10 would go again.

Breakfast review: Ahh, Greek-American diners . . . always such a good greasy spoon, and this one is no exception, in fact it excels. This place is in my opinion the best eggs/hash/bacon plate in wider Seattle. If you are looking for Eggs Benedict, Biscuits and Gravy, etc, you can do better (but not in North Seattle), however as a simple breakfast place, this can't be beat.

I've been here a couple of times for breakfast and it's a solid choice. Wait staff was friendly and expedient both visits. There are cheaper options for seniors on the back of the menu and my mother in law was pleased with her order on both occasions. I neglected to photograph my poached eggs but they were nicely done. If for whatever reason, your food takes a while, there are Trivial Pursuit cards as condiments to keep you entertained while you wait. Parking is easy though I can see how the small lot would fill up during the weekends.

Great service and delicious food. It taste like moms home cooking. Breakfast is great but if your in the mood for lunch try the panko crusted chicken sandwich.

Tasty diner with a great variety of breakfast food. They have a daily breakfast special and have consistently satisfying food. The spartan omelet is a delicious and savory option (get the hashbrowns crispy!), or if you have a sweet tooth the pancakes are a great choice. Flo-Anna's is also known for their pies (the banana cream is delish). Once a month the restaurant stays open later for Greek night and serves a set menu of delicious Mediterranean fare for a steal. The owners are great and the service is consistently excellent. If you're in North Seattle or are just looking for a good breakfast joint, Flo-Anna's is a great option.

Not the most amazing diner I've ever been to, but definitely a great neighborhood choice. Plenty of parking, lots of seating, and efficient/friendly service. Chicken fried steak & eggs was perfect for my brunch craving last Sunday morning, and no wait! Prices are very reasonable for the generous serving sizes (exactly what you'd expect at a diner).

This isn't a place I would drive an hour to go eat at but it is definitely a good local find. I have driven past this place numerous of times and I finally stepped in. The pricing is ok. Dennys is cheaper. the food tasted good. I got the joann omelette and it was good. The waitress was also very nice. Service and food both gets gold stars. However in all honesty the only thing that makes me want to go to Denny's more is the fact that there's more variety that caters to my taste buds.

This is a solid and consistent diner that I count as a regular in my weekend breakfast list. They are quick on the service and coffee, even when the place is packed. I love that the hash browns TASTE good. So many diners use that nasty grill oil and frozen spuds. These take like delicious potatoes that you would make for yourself (if you weren't a lazy sod on the weekends, like me!) The coffee is always fresh, and the food is satisfying. Shandy is that fun and sassy waitress that you can't help but love. Definitely a go-to!

Their chicken fried steak sucks ass, all breading, no flavor, fresh from the freezer!

Mmm. Great Greek-American diner. Delicious hash browns. Omelet was perfect. Breakfast all day. Just-right friendly wait staff. Double-meat burger looked really good. Greek salad was a hit.

No, no, no!!! This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. It was my first time at this diner and it will definitely be my last. Since it is one of the few breakfast restaurants near my home, I agreed to try it out. Upon entry, a sign reads, "Please wait to be seated". My boyfriend and I waited to be seated for about 5 minutes even though two waitresses had passed by us several times not making eye contact nor saying "hello, be right with you guys". Finally, one said, (to the now line of customers waiting to be seated) "sit wherever you'd like". So we did. Service was slow and confusing. We were offered coffee AFTER we ordered our food and only because we asked for it....even though the table was already set with coffee mugs before we sat down. The only cream to chose from was from a warm stainless steel container that had probably been on the table for hours. No thanks. I'll take my coffee black. Serious health code violation - warm milk that who knows how many people touched and used it before we arrived. GROSS! The restaurant wasn't busy. The food took quite a while to come out and it was terrible. My rye toast was as stiff and stale as styrofoam. It literally broke and crumbled like a giant crouton. No thanks. There was mystery meat in my omlette. It was supposed to have spinach, zucchini, cheese and and bacon but the bacon looked as if it had been chewed up and spit back into the omlette...or was it unicorn meat?! I was NOT HAPPY at this point. We were both finished eating. With finished plates and empty coffee mugs, we sat there for quite some time before our waitress came back. She said she'd be right back with our check. Again, it was not busy in this place. After THREE songs played on the radio (seriously), she came back to our table and said she'd be back with the check. I was about ready to dine and dash by this point. About FIVE more minutes passed and she FINALLY brought us our check...five more minutes passed and she brought our receipt. Do we tip? She should have tipped us. My blood boils just thinking about this experience. Fire her already. She is killing your restaurant...or maybe it is already dead. There is nothing good about this confused (Greek!!?) diner. In conclusion, the place is filthy, the service nonexistent, and the food is miserable. I will definitely be advertising for this failing joint...If I could give it ZERO stars I would. NEVER AGAIN!

Started eating here when I moved into the area 6 months ago and have nothing but good things to say about Flo-Anna's. The food is consistently tasty, the prices are reasonable and the portions are substantial. The service is some of the best I have ever had. For breakfast I highly recommend the herb crusted pork chops; they are a bit of a wait but absolutely amazing. Greek night the first Thursday of each month is a real treat. They make some great dishes and it's a real value.

Great breakfast spot close to our house. We tend to go for the scrambles and meat/egg combo breakfasts, and those are really good. Service is fast and friendly. They have recently started serving beer and wine, so I can get a mimosa with my diner breakfast now too - score! I have heard rave reviews about their traditional Greek dinners, and really hope to have the chance to try them soon.

  • Jerry W.

Great breakfasts, fast and friendly service, prices reasonable, very ample portions. Sad to read the one star review, Katie must have been there on a rare off day. Our experience was great all around. Once again proves not to take all Yelp reviews too seriously.

This is my second time and I am sure will be the LAST time! First time was "ok", this time was disappointing! Ask waitress specifically that I want soft thin pancake (not hard one like IHOP style) and ask the beacon strips to be crispy, she seems understood by nodding her head. Turn out the pancake was thick not soft !!! the bacon was hard instead of crispy! When you expect something and turn out the opposite way, wouldn't be fair if you lose your appetite?

The Spartan omelette is seriously the best omelette I've ever had. If you like olives and feta, don't even look at the menu. Just ask for the Spartan omelette.

Pretty good food here. Good breakfast. Ok for kids. Its a family run restaraunt. Ate here few times. Prices are average. Not enough parking and not very easy to get into the parking lot if you are coming from the south. way better than the place next door.

Dropped in after a long night and ordered CFS such quality of meat I could cut it without a knife it was perfect, delicious gravy and perfect scramble. The owner is so sweet and accommodating from order to out the door with my food, was so fast. Very happy to go back, this is my new breakfast place.

Yelped a place to grab some breakfast and came across this place. Nothing that makes this place stand out above any other breakfast place. I would say it's a notch about a Denny's or Shari's and a notch below Patty's or Brown Bag. Settling right in the middle, but I will say that the lady serving us was especially kind, so thank you for that, ma'am. As for the food, I got a scramble and french toast. Not sure how anyone can mess up a scramble, so that was good, but the french toast left a LOT to be desired. I wish there were some standard for making my favorite breakfast dish, but alas, there are too many places, such as this, that plop bread into egg batter and fry it and call it french toast. Bluh.

  • David P.

This is a perfect neighborhood diner. Great breakfast served all day. A wide ranging menu that should satisfy every craving without being overwhelming. Everything is fresh. Their hand made fries are great. And Greek Night on the first Thursday of every month?! Opa!

Everytime I've visited this place, it's been delicious! It is a low key breakfast spot with reasonably priced dishes and friendly customer service! This last visit I had the greek omlet which was a mixture of gyro meat, feta cheese, tomatoes and onion. Easily my favorite item on their menu! I Definitely recommend it!! If you are in the North Seattle area and need an option other than Pattys Eggsnest for a good breakfast, I suggest Flo-Anna's!

    (4)
  • Darien C.

Came here on my birthday as I had a hankering for waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Placed my order which cost $8.59, and for that I got ONE single waffle that was soggy in the middle from the strawberry juice. I just cannot believe that a place could charge almost $9 for a single soggy waffle, no sides.

FloAnna's is a great neighborhood eatery. We've been there 6-7 times in the past few months. We've had both breakfasts and dinners and we have never been disappointed with our meals. Wait staff is excellent. Sometimes you wait a bit for the food, but the beverages keep on coming during the wait. Nice interior, good music playing. Monthly they have a Greek night, and there are breakfast specials M-F from 6-9 a.m. They have improved the exterior look of the place to make it more inviting. Everytime we go there, the place is busy, so we know we aren't the only ones who like it!

This is my new favorite local breakfast joint! I've been driving past this place for years and never even thought to stop and have a meal. What a shame! My good friend suggested we go for breakfast on a Saturday morning, and thank goodness she did! I would have never known that chicken fried steak and eggs could be so delicious. Instead of the hashbrowns that come with the plate, I substituted 2 pancakes. The pancakes are standard made from a mix, but they are at least the size of your face! In addition to the well prepared comfort food, the staff is warm and friendly. They all smile and greet you immediately upon entering. Although the service is quick, they have Trivial Pursuit cards on all of the tables to keep you entertained while you wait for your meal. I've already been back twice, and have had a wonderful experience each time. It's a great place to have a casual, comforting meal in good company.

I live nearby but had not visited Flo-Anna's until this weekend. I really wanted a traditional club sandwich and fries. I was not disappointed by the sandwich although it seemed smaller than the ones I remember eating in the past but where I was disappointed was in the french fries. I love homemade fries when they are light and crispy and golden brown but if they are dark and bitter and thick skinned like these are then I would much prefer the frozen type from cash and carry. Not sure if we will be back because light crispy fries are a must for me.

  • Evan D.

I and my family absolutely love Flo Anna's! We go quite often. Breakfast is served all day so I usually get pancakes. The pancakes are huge and very good! I've been getting chicken strips recently though with a green salad. Their fries are amazing (considering I'm not a French fry fan) and their chicken is very good! The salad is just iceberg lettuce (as crisp and fresh as can be) with a few pieces of shredded carrots and purple cabbage. Not sure if their ranch dressing is homemade or not, but it's very good. Can never complain!!

This is a fine diner. Hardworking folks, nothing pretentious. Leave your Seattle attitude at the door, have a plate of food. It's a small place, but has parking. You do need to get in going southbound, but doing a u-turn is pretty easy. Seat yourself, I grabbed a chair at the counter and read my book with a cup of coffee. The waitress was down to earth and friendly, and pretty much assured me I'd be a regular soon enough. Had Andy's Scramble, which was filling and priced right. All no-frills, but was just what I needed.

I ate here for the first time on New Years day, if you are in a hurry forget about it. Breakfast was great! I had French toast, the syrup is yummy and the service was good and attentive. I will be going back, soon.

We ate at Flo-Anna's tonight because it was Greek Night--first Thurs of the month. Our dinner was as good as it gets starting with the traditional egg/lemon/rice soup. Then came marinated pork skewers, Greek salad, grilled pita bread and a spectacular rice with a flavor that complimented the pork nicely. Dessert was an egg custard that was not overly sweet and had a great texture. The wait staff was attentive and Andy, the owner/cook, even came around to the tables to greet diners. It was a wonderful experience!

  • Dawn B.

Great neighborhood joint for breakfast and lunch. Even though it's only a block or two from my house, I've only eaten here a handful of times but every time, the food has been solid and the service amazing. I guess I shorted it a star because the decor is dated and a little dingy. But the fantastic wait staff has such a sunny disposition that it does brighten up the joint.

Good Diners can be hard to find in Seattle, but this place is top knoch. all the breakfast food is delicious and the Pies are nothing short of amazing. Reasonably priced and really nice people! Will definitly be coming back.

Great old school diner. Total greasy spoon! Seems to be frequented by the older crowd. I tried the Greek omelet and walked away very happy. Will be back to try out the dinner fare sometime soon.

I had hoped for a great breakfast but it was just okay. My friend's pancakes were too large & thick & bland. I ordered the Flo-Anna's omelet, asking for crisp hash browns and a well-toasted English muffin but neither were. On a positive note, the waitress was friendly and we didn't have to wait to get a table at 9:00 on a Sunday. Also, my husband and other friends have had good lunches there before. I just wish it had been a great breakfast today.

  • Crystal G.

Well - last time was great. Not so much this time. Not only were the portions SUPER small but the service was terrible. We waited forever to get a side of toast we ordered immediately for the toddler that was too hungry to wait...after eating we waited forever to order dessert, then another 10 minutes for ice cream. The problem? One waitress for the whole restaurant. There was another gal there but she didn't step in to help out. We thought she was a busser at first but she wasn't doing anything consistently - so not sure her job. In the end this was probably the last time we'll be here. Sad.

  • Lisa E.

Went here for breakfast on a Sunday. We got seats right away, so that was good. But the food wasn't very good. There was nothing special about it. The hashbrowns were flavorless, the poached eggs were flavorless and extra runny--not in a good way. It's hard to screw up breakfast but this place was just so bland!

  • Tom And Paige F.

We eat at Flo-Anna's about twice a month. The food is great and the service is awesome. We went there today and there was only one server and the restaurant was packed. We were amazed how she made things happend being solo. I recommend the Greek omelette with a side of tzaziki (sp?) sauce. Pretty much our staple.

    (4)
  • Amanda C.

Flo-Anna's offers tasty traditional diner-ish fare in a super-casual, friendly atmosphere. Nothing pretentious, but the food--in healthy portion! --is well worth the very reasonable prices. The service is also very friendly!

  • Andrea S.

I don't know.. there's something about breakfast that I love so much, and Flo-Anna's makes some delicious omelettes! The cheese is melted and just blends everything together, I don't really know how to describe it, but it's magical and takes you to a place between reality and the matrix where you feel an essence of completeness. Okay, well maybe not.. but they're pretty good. Downsides: location, sometimes they can be kinda slow, and if you don't ask for crisp hashbrowns they can be a bit limp noodle-ish. Upside: Omelettes!! 3.5 stars :)

  • Monique L.

YUM and YUM. Can you say over indulgently good diner food. We have eaten at Flo-Anna's many times and LOVE the Chicken Fried Steak and am from the South and love many of the Southern- style dishes. The entire staff here is attentive and friendly. Service is fast and parking is super easy.

There are no gimmicks or special sign to draw you in. It's just a little diner on the side of the road. Yelp was why I came, but I know that Yelp is not why they're in business. Most of their customers are old regulars that they know by name. I loved to hear the waitstaff sharing their stories of their lives. This really is a family joint without any blood relation. Floann's is the type of all day food served diner that I would bring my grandpa to. It feels like a place that he would take me to when I was younger. Sitting in this restaurant and glancing at the menu I know my grandpa would be one of those regulars and that's why I would come back. The food is just your normal diner food. The pancakes taste like normal pancakes. The scrambled eggs I could've made at home along with the bacon too. It's very cheap and homely, but when I come back it will be for the atmosphere and the memories.

Since my last review wasn't very informative, it's time to give Flo-Anna's a review they deserve. Flo-Anna's is not a very big cafe but it has a lot of character and you can tell it a great place to come hangout due to a lot of regulars that come in. My wife and I came here this morning for breakfast, since we enjoyed the last time we were here. We were seated right away since it wasn't very busy, so not waiting is always a plus. The hostess was very friendly and greated us as soon as we walked in the door. Looking over the menu, it was hard to decide what I wanted to eat, there are plenty of great options to choose from. I don't know why but a milk shake sounded so good, so I decided to order one of their old-fashioned strawberry milkshakes for $5.99. I felt like being a rebel and start the morning with a delicious milkshake. My wife decided to keep it simple and go with a cup of hot coffee, BOOO. HAHA. After mulling it over I ended up ordering the Greek Omelette, that had Gyro meat, tomatoes, onions and feta cheese for $9.99. Let me tell you that was an amazing omelette. The Gyro meat and was cooked perfect and tons of flavor and added with the feta cheese just made it that much better. YUM!!!!! My wife ordered the two piece french toast that came with eggs and hash browns for $5.49. The french toast looked so delicious I had to take bite and boy I am glad I did, they were so damn gooooood. The portions here are just right, not to big and not to small, just right. It's a great little cafe with a nice and friendly staff. It's a great place to bring the family and kids and they have wonderful pies that the kids will really enjoy. I have yet to try one of the pies but they look really good in the case. Next time for sure I will be getting a slice.

My family and I enjoy dining at Flo-Anna's for so many reasons! There is something on the menu for everyone....including breakfast for dinner! The owner, Andy, and his lovely staff always make us feel so welcome. The food is good and the service excellent! One of our favorite places!

  • Reesa T.

This place looks sketchy. Like its old and a bit run down and you just figure the food on the inside will be pure grease and otherwise flavorless and uninspired... there was no way I'd go here. Then my dad was in town and desperate for homestyle cooking... pork chops or meatloaf type food. I never eat like this, I'm a vegetarian, I like ethnic foods, I like whole grains and he likes white bread. We ended up using a GPS on the go and searching the word "diner" and ended up right back in my neighborhood at Flo-Anna's. I was skeptical to say the least... I have to say also that I never cease to enjoy being pleasantly surprised. What I was at first hesitant to walk in the door at I ended up being pretty happy that I went in. I may even go back without my dad- i want to check out Greek Night... really bad... I loooove greek food. (I will update the review if I ever remember and go). Anyway the food wasn't bad at all. It was not overly greasy and I was able to get veg options easily. the service was attentive and friendly. I know it looks.... yeah- but its not bad stop in if you are looking for some homestyle cooking.. and send me a reminder when Greek Night is coming... :P

I love coming here for a great early-morning breakfast! You can almost always guarantee a very friendly staff. Andy, the owner, who also cooks most mornings, never hesitates to come make friendly conversation to the patrons. Also, my coffee mug is never empty, and as a student, that is a very good thing! The price is right and its worth the illegal uturn on Lake City to go have a great meal at Flos!

  • Peggy R.

I was in a bad mood when I came in, but the food and service made me happy. I had the greek omlette (two eggs instead of 4) and it was wonderful. It has gyro meat, onions, tomatoes and feta cheese - all cooked to perfection. In addition were some very wonderful hash browns and toast. I also ordered pita and tzatiki - some of the best I've ever eaten. My boyfriend had a patty melt that he thoroughly enjoyed. We are definitely going back for Greek night.

This has to be one of the skechiest looking diners out there...but as they say, never judge a book by its cover. You might have a hard time accessing Flo-Anna's since you can only enter one way (southbound on Lake City/Bothell way). Make a U-turn if you have to! Once inside, you'll notice the lovely charm inside that has way more character than the outside, and the cheery servers. Breakfast is definitely the way to go, and you can't go wrong with any of the omelettes. Your usual side of hashed browns and toast accompany each meal, and they're done right. If you're smart like me, you'll go for the bacon. The pieces are thick and wholesome. Just the way I like my.... Service is prompt, the prices are more than reasonable, and anyone who gives this place a chance knows that they have another hangover spot.

God I love this place! The first time I went, my boyfriend recommended we go there, it's not much to look at from the outside...but inside? it's clean, bright and cheerful, just like the waitresses! The Greek burger is amazing, the Greek Omelette is delicious, their chicken strips are outstanding, and the fries and hashbrowns are always perfect. I am guilty of being superbly tacky and licking my plate once here (it was just toooo delicious not too). I loved the bacon when I got a side of it, and I can't wait to go to greek night! THe boyfriend has stated that the french bread burger is the best thing ever.. I have tot ake his word for it, it's too much for me ;) The service is friendly, on top with the coffee, and not at all pushy to get people out of there. Flo-Anna's rocks my stripe-y socks!!

I stopped in this afternoon craving Chicken Strips something awful. No way was I going to settle for fast food "nuggets". I went in based on some other reviews and its proximity to home. When I went in, the waitresses were cheerful and let me sit wherever I wanted. It was pretty packed but service was suprisingly quick and the food took no time to come out. It was quiet enough that I was able to read my book without much interruption and the waitresses always seemed to be available whenever I wanted something. I ordered chicken strips with fries and a salad. I asked if they had white gravy and they made white sausage gravy just for me. :) The chicken strips were delicious. Just crispy enough and not too greasy. The fries were soggy, but it seems to be a typical Seattle thing so I wasn't surprised. The sausage gravy was great! Perfectly thick with plenty of chunks of sausage. I briefly considered a chocolate shake when I saw them make one for another customer, and it was MASSIVE. Quite intimidating. They also had oreo brownie sundaes... Tempting, but I wasn't that hungry. A very pleasant experience. Definitely going back. It was about $12 for me, which is not bad at all for fresh cooked food in massive servings. I ended up taking more than half of the food home.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Its the perfect restaurant. Great friendly and attentive staff, your glass is never empty (even when its busy) and they're just so nice! Its obvious that a lot of their customers are regulars. And the food is well cooked and always hot, which is big for me. They cook an over-medium egg perfectly! Which is rare. The pancakes are HUGE and fluffy. Its just like a really great home cooked meal and I love coming here when I'm too lazy to cook my own. Never tried anything except for breakfast, but that's because they serve it all day and its just so good!!! Did I mention I love this place?! :) Looks like a run down hole in the wall, the only thing they should do to make this place better would be to expand since they're always so packed with happy customers!

Everything, and yes even the kitchen sink! I have loved and continued to love Flo-Anna's. My family constantly want to eat here, from breakfast served all day to dinner, and yes even PIE! My personal favorite is the Flo-Anna's Omelet endearingly called the Kitchen Sink. Service is friendly, this is a family owned establishment, and it shines in the food and service.

On the outside, this restaurant looks shabby and scary. On the inside, however, it's bright, cheerful and clean. It is easy to tell those that work here are family. They have good service and, from what I could see, loyal customers. I was expecting the food to be greasy. To my surprise, the food was not greasy and was very fresh. To describe their menu, it's almost like a better quality version of Denny's with a Greek flair. I haven't tried their Greek night yet but rest assured, it's on my to-do list. I've heard enough raving reviews to know this. The coffee is decent. The wait was adequate. From here on out, when I want a diner breakfast, this is the place I'm going.

We came here for breakfast and the portions were pretty large. The food was good, nothing super special. All in all, I would come back again. It's a step up from Dennys or Shari's.

It's basically a mom and pop Denny's. But there's something about this place that keeps me coming back. When my friends come to town, we go there. It's just comforting to hang out with all the old Lake City down-to-earth locals.

Love the Greek burger! I am craving one right now. Really juicy meat, tasty dressings and served alongside homemade cut fries. As much as I like the burgers, I am not a huge fan of the prices. Sandwiches are skimpy in quantity and should be robust for the prices. Otherwise, staff is nice and this place is part of lake city's character. Plus you can see cute older couples have their meal. Good For: Greek Burger, pies

Blah. If Rachel Ray or Paula Dean asked me to describe this place in one word, it would be "Blah". I had biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were on the dry side and the gravy was on the grey & bland side. The hashbrowns were normal, nothing great. The eggs were greasy or oily. And the food took a long time to arrive at the table. On the plus side, the bacon was crisp but still soft in spots. Just about right. And the wait staff was friendly. I won't start a debate over breast feeding, but the table next to ours had two moms going full power with the breast feeding.

I really hoped this place would be good considering its lesss than half a block from where I live (so its within walking distance). Unfortunetly upon visiting this place, I was sorely dissapointed in EVERYTHING. American food? You've got to be kidding! NOTHING was prepared the standard 'diner way'. EVERYTHING had some sort of greek twist or some strange way of preparing the food.(which is fine, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time...) For example my boyfriend's steak was brought out with the center still frozen. STRANGE. When stating to the waitress who stood there smacking her gum like a cow, that the steak was still frozen she looked at us, dead behind the eyes, and said "well, whaddya want me to do about it. I'm not giving you free food." Our jaws about dropped when she continued to say "I mean i guess i can put it back on the grill for a minute or whatever." We promptly left and will never go back.

I wanted it to be a little better - I love diner food, but this was all a bit tasteless. Super friendly staff, though.

OK, so if you're looking for really great, standard American breakfast you have found it here at Flo-Anna's. The menu is actually a little Greek, with many of their egg dishes including olives and feta cheese, but I'm into that. The Flo-Anna Omlet which includes everything AND the kitchen sink is a heart-attack on a plate. A delicious, hashbrown and sour cream stuffed heart attack that I would eat every day. The pancakes are normal and the waffles look like they came out of a toaster, but the sausage....oh, the sausage! So really, it looks like a run-down diner and the waitresses are always super busy. The clientel is blue-collar at best, but GOSH DARN IT, there's a TON of them! Don't bother trying to make a reservation. They don't take them. Don't bother waiting for someone to seat you. It's usually "grab the first open table you see, regardless of cleanliness". I recommend eating at the bar on a Sunday morning. You will get your food in half the time and you might even get a refill on your water/soda/coffee. Lunch time is relaxed, especially during the week. I've only been once with a friend, but she asked several times how she never knew about this place (she works down the street). Standard diner fare is what is served. So all in all, standard is the way I would review this place!

My wife and I avoided going to Flo-Anna's Diner for a long time. We would pass by, take a look at the exterior, make a joke, and then threaten to pull in to the parking lot. However today we actually decided to give this place a try. Like many of the good things in Lake City, you've got to get past the exterior. On the inside, Flo-Anna's diner is clean and nice. They serve typical diner food, french toast, waffles, burgers, sandwiches. However they have a few selections with a Greek twist to them. Omelets with feta cheese, gyro meat and such are available. I had a Greek omelet and my wife had French toast. My omelet was pretty big and came with lots of hashbrowns. My wife's French toast came with two of the largest strips of bacon I've seen and was also pretty good. Service was decently fast and very friendly. All total, the bill was just about $20 for two plates and two coffees. Apparently on Thursday Nights they have Greek Night where they serve Greek food items, I haven't tried it out yet but since there isn't a Greek restaurant near Lake City that I know of I'm going to have to check it out.

I have been saddened by the quality of breakfast joints some ask too much (Claire's pantry) or are too gimmicky (Beth's) or fast food (IHOP, Denny's) so entering this greasy spoon was a treat. If you're looking for anything other then good cheap breakfast go to the others but if no nonsense simple delights is what you want then swing in here. Upon entering this place you will be entering an old fashioned American restaurant but don't let the veneer fool you. The owners and the wait staff are Greek and celebrate this fact. Every first Thursday of the month they have a Greek night, and the food on the daily menu has a bit of the Grecian flare. The burgers are good the omelets are great and the wait staff is friendly and a couple are pretty damn cute.

I love this spot. Go here nearly every week with my three kids and it's the highlight of their Saturday. Big grins as they order their "regular" from Alana, our fantastic waitress. She once gave my 10 year old daughter a polly pockets doll and my 8 yo son, I think is in love. Great service, good food, and right here in the 'hood. It's not the Canlis, but what did you expect in 'lil old Lake City?

Simply the worst possible service I have experienced yet in a restaurant. Yes, it was a Sunday; yes there were 10 in our party. And, yes, we waited 20 minutes for a table. However, once seated after being given menus it took 15 minutes to place an order and then OVER AN HOUR for the food to be brought to our tables. That was after three of us needing to get up and accost wait staff (no one person was assigned to our table it seems) and to demand that we be served or allowed to go. Simply horrible; I was irate before the food, which was adequate but not great, arrived. We all had an engagement afterwards and my son was compelled to take his food in a styrofoam clamshell because finishing it would make him late (this was 75 minutes after we were seated; only one in the party got food an hour after the order was placed.) The head waitress seemed put out that we were annoyed; the rest of the wait staff was clueless, sullen, and had extremely poor hygiene (long greasy, unconfined hair.) They were also indifferent to how incredibly rude they were. We watched other parties get seated, their orders taken, and be served while we waited. Disfunctional; it just RUINED the morning. It took me a 30 minutes to calm down after leaving. I am still mad two weeks later.

After driving around Lake City looking for something to eat after Pug Day - we came across this diner. My BF said 'We can leave if it is scary on the inside'. It wasn't. Basic diner on the inside with a lot of locals about. I had a swiss grilled cheese with tomato. It was jammed full of tomatoes and the side of potato salad was great. No bacon in it so as a veg - I could eat it. Huge cokes. Would come again no problem. Love that they have a pocking lot!

The waffles do NOT come out of a toaster; they're terrific, crisp, not of the Belgian but of the classic American variety. The service is friendly, the prices reasonable, the food excellent, the menu extensive, the atmosphere friendly-diner: It is, I think, the best place for breakfast in the north end. I've mainly enjoyed breakfasts here, but also a few lunches; the turkey sandwich (made with real turkey roasted on premises) is terrific: generous, simple, tasty. This is clearly not a place for gastrosnobs, which means there aren't many in evidence, which gives the place its final, fifth star, I M O.

I lived in the hood for 16 years before I actually ventured in - what a great find and how I lamented waiting so long! Good food, breakfasts are outstanding and the prices are very reasonable!

Tried this place for the first time, and due to the reviews here, ordered the Greek burger. It was *very* good, with feta cheese and tzatziki sauce in place of mayo, and the fries were delish. My bf ordered chicken strips, which were okay (generously portioned though -- 4 big pieces), but he liked my burger better. The salad he got was decent, the dressing light but a bit heavy on the oil. Environment is well kept, with good service. Prices are decent, but I wouldn't come here just for a "cheap eat." (Greek burger is $9, chicken strips platter $10, add drinks, tax, and tip, and you're easily looking at about $15 per person.) Can't wait to try their Greek night one of these days.

I have been here twice and both times the food was gross.... The toast was stale! The hash browns were old dry and burnt! I still dont understand why I went back here shame on me I guess! STAY AWAY!!

It was another "please tell me I don't have to cook" evening, and we thought we'd try something new. Our usual standby for these situations is Claire's Pantry. But we decided to try Flo-Anna's after reading some of the reviews. We were not disappointed. I don't know why, but I half-expected there to be a funky smell to the place--probably because the building is old. But when we walked in, the place was quite "smell less." It didn't even smell like deep-fried cooking, which I totally would've expected. Service was attentive and friendly. I had the Joe's Special and my son had the beef patty with grilled onions. My husband had one of the specials: salisbury steak. The food was prompt, hot and not greasy at all. My son commented that the gravy tasted "different." I tried it, and there was some type of flavor in there that was a little unusual. I couldn't put my finger on it, maybe nutmeg or cinnamon? It gave it a very slight sweet flavor that was subtle. Definitely edible and tasty, but not my favorite. In addition to the food being not greasy, it is not over-salted. Which is really nice. We've got a new "go to" place on our list.

A great little diner that serves breakfast all day, and a standard lunch and dinner menu peppered with Greek influences. The waitstaff is friendly, the prices are fair, and it is never too crowded. The atmosphere is cozy; interestingly-shaped teapots line a shelf along the ceiling, which is the kind of personal touch that I love to see in restaurants. Their Tziki Burger is, in my opinion, the best thing on the menu, though their shredded hashbrowns are also a contender. Quite an array of pie choices, as well, which is always a plus. I haven't made it to their Greek Night yet (always the first Thursday of the month), but I plan to as soon as possible.
