I have been pretty negligent about writing reviews and feel that Ritz Drive-In would be a good place to fix that. We found ourselves in Shelton over the weekend for the Farmer's Market and wanted to grab a burger for lunch. We stopped by and Ritz was actually quite busy when we arrived, generally a good sign for a local place. We waited in line and when it was our turn to order we were quite pleased with how friendly the staff was. There was some good natured humor back and forth during the ordering process but it was still fast. Some of the reviews that I have read were somewhat negative in that it wasn't a more "farm to table" sort of place, others seemed upset that they used frozen ingredients. Neither of these bothered me as that is not at all what I was expecting, I was expecting a decent burger from a small town burger stand, and Ritz exceeded that for us. The burgers were quite good. I enjoyed the chocolate shake I had, and the fries were also good. What really put it over the top for me, and would have been worth a star on it's own if I weren't already at 4 stars (I have decided that 5 stars from me needs to be very rare), was the fry sauce. I grew up in the inland Northwest where fry sauce is a much bigger deal than it is here in Western Washington where "goop" seems to rule the fast food world. The fry sauce at Ritz was perfect and would fit in at any of the inland northwest burger places that I love. As long as you are not expecting more than what Ritz offers, the place is great and we will certainly stop by when we find ourselves in Shelton.

The first time I ate at the Ritz I wasn't blown away. Rather I was turned off. When I try a burger place I usually opt for a mushroom swiss burger if they have it on the menu, which the Ritz has listed as a Swiss mushroom. The Ritz's version includes canned mushrooms which I have a thing about so that kind of turned me off. Thankfully I gave them a second shot. Their deluxe burger is your basic burger with tomato, onion, lettuce, pickle and the Ritzed up mayo/sauce. They do a great job witth seasoning the meat just right. The fresh veggies are fresh and everything works together to deliver a satisfying burger experience. Prices are ridiculously low. Service isn't the fastest but unless it is the thick of lunch time you shouldn't have to wait too long. I like that they have a drive through window, just don't expect it to be as quick as the place with the clown or the other fast food places that make your meal about 45 minutes before you walk through the door. Understand that the staff at the Ritz don't make your food until after you order it (and it is not simple assembly line food). I look forward to exploring their menu a bit more but I will just continue to avoid the Swiss mushroom burger.

This is the perfect place when your craving a burger 'n fries. Just good food with generous serving sizes. My husband especially loves their milkshakes. I love the fry sauce. I had to dock a star for the parking lot, but I still recommend.

Pros: Central location. Just a short walk from Kneeland Park or Shelton Athletic Club. Relatively large portion sizes for all burgers and fries that won't hurt the wallet. Good milkshake. Customer service was efficient and responsive taking care orders for customers dining in and driving through. Teriyaki is no longer an item on menu. Cons: If your an individual with specific dietary needs weather its being gluten-free or being vegan then I wouldn't recommend dining here. Inside of the shop is relatively small, so it is not great gathering place for large groups on rainy days. No steak burger on the menu. Closed on Sunday. Overall: The only place in the downtown Shelton area were you can get quality burger and meal without having pay a kings ransom. If you happen to be passing by check it out

This is a great little place! Of course most of the menu is frozen, but that shouldn't stop anyone. Delish fried burritos. Yummy salsa. Tasty burgers. Super creamy milk shakes. Family run, it's always busy and that should tell you something about how good it is. Sometimes parking and seating is an issue (in that there isn't any). Which again, speaks to how good they are.

Had a Deluxe Cheeseburger, Fries and a Blackberry milkshake. The food was great! The burger had all fresh condiments, a larger than usual order of GOOD fries and a blackberry milkshake that will knock your socks off! The staff is friendly, fast and efficient. I recommend them!

I am not sure what all the negative press is about. We had a group of 6 who all had great hamburgers, fries, onion rings, fried mushrooms and shakes. This is an excellent example of the old school fast food places that used to be everywhere. There is a new owner (said he bought the place 6 months ago) who made sure we had a great experience. I highly recommend the Ritz Drive In if you are anywhere near Shelton and want a burger or a shake (The shakes would get 5 stars if that was all that I was rating).

Neither the fries or the burgers are the best we've ever had, but we love them. There's just something about this place that keeps us coming back. The guy who works the counter (Owner?) every time we come in has got to be the friendliest guy on the planet. I don't even know his name and we've been going there for years; we just call him Happy.

It's non-corporate, so that's cool. But the food... The burger was very much meh - I think the next time I'd try the teriyaki. I think with a little change here and there this place could be better. The shake was pretty good.

Local drive in - good to see non-corporate places still eeking out an existence. The Bacon cheeseburger was pretty good - Bacon was thick and cooked perfectly. Fries were a bit bland (crinkle cut would be much better). Fry sauce was good - but lacked spice. Overall - not bad at all. Keep eating local.

Really good burgers and fries. The owner is extremely friendly, and always has a hilarious joke on hand. Very limited seating indoors, I counted 4 tables with two chairs each. They do have outdoor picnic tables that would be awesome to eat at in the summer, including a drive-thru. They take cash, and card, not sure about checks. I recommend the combo #1!!

Badass! Im kind of suprised to see so little stars! All the people I know who are locals go here. Its cheap and dang good food! Plus they have a drive-thru which is nice if ya got a car full of people or youre on your way somewhere. I will say one bad thing which is the only reason I didnt give 5 stars, they refuse to make a bunless burger. I am gluten free and they serve their fries in boats so to me they should be able to throw a burger in a boat and call it good so when I asked and the normally very jokey owner said no, I thought he was kidding. But he said the cook basically refuses to do that for unknown reasons. Soooo I deal with the pain the gluten causes once and a great while for the yummy food there.

The Ritz has great burgers. After having been twice now, once during the week and once on the weekend, I can safely say that these guys are consistent. The Ritz double and large fries for 4.75 is a deal, cheese is extra. Served with thousand island on the side, I'll be back for more and to try one of their shakes.

Terrible, terrible burgers. Fantastic milkshakes. Terrible fries. Below-average service.
