Pine Lake Ale House Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

On any given day they seem to have about 20 tap options, including cider and imports. Our waitress worked very hard with the amount of customers and our food still came out quickly. Everything there is homemade and delicious. It's rare to see a lot of homemade options for eating out. Both front of house staff were really helpful and went the extra mile to determine if the soup (homemade) was gluten free. We were in the area looking for houses and this place definitely made a favorable impression. Extra shout out: I was so stressed by the buying process that I left my purse with keys and everything. It took me the next day to figure out it was missing and lo and behold, they actually had it! This restored my faith in humanity after having quite a rough start to my morning. The outcome: I got to go there for lunch the next day, too. Thank you Pine Lake Ale House staff! You rock!

I came in today after work, and sat at the bar. I was helped righy away and had my beer served immediately. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I ordered a couple local beers that were delicious. For food, I ordered the Southwest Burger and fries. The fries were perfect. Great taste, perfect light crispness in the outside and soft, warm inside. The burger was amazing! Perfect spice to it, and cooked just right. Everything was fresh. Loved it! Next, I ordered the Fish Tacos. They were incredible! Perfectly cooked Alaskan Cod, Fresh Cabbage, and a Pineapple Pico De Gallo, with a side of Chipotle Ranch sauce to put in them. Omgosh, delicious!! You get three mouth-watering fish tacos with a side of rice. I ate two of them and wrapped the third to take home for later, as I'm pretty full. Prices are reasonable for the exceptional quality you get. For my two ales/ipas plus two entrees, the bill was under $40. Definitely worth it. I HIGHLY recommend this Ale House, and I will definitely be back again. Thank you Pine Lake Ale House!

This place is really sucks. Never come back again!!! The waitress is not qualify at all. So slow (spent more than 15minutes to order at 1pm) didn't serve customers and the kids politely. It's my first time here and worst restaurant experience in my life. Rather go to coho and other similar places. The foods are normal. Not worth to come even it's cheap.

Food was okay, nothing exciting. I can't believe they don't have a hamburger on the kids menu! I hated paying ten bucks for a burger that my son could only eat half of. Since he has a dairy allergy, his options on the kids menu was seriously limited. It was loud with the music, televisions and conversation. Beer and service was great though! Overall, not sure we'll be back. Better spot for people without kids.

This place is great. A huge selection of uncommon beers (with the requisite Mac&Jaks) that shuffles around every so often. The menu is short but sweet. I've tried most everything on there and I loved all of it. The staff is friendly and hospitable. Several times I've had servers or bartenders who weren't waiting on me stop by and ask if I needed anything. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is that I always leave still a little hungry, yet my wallet has a dent in it. Otherwise, top notch place. It gets busy at normal dinner times, so expect a wait.

The food is delicious here! I love the lemon chicken burger....crunchy chicken with a lemon glaze. And I like that they offer a salad as a side. Even the salad is tasty! Friendly staff and convenient location. I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband seems to like the rotating beers. Definitely recommend this place!

Sammamish has such limited places to eat, and this is one. The food is mediocre, the service, questionable. When we lived in Sammamish, we ate here a few times, and only because it was close by. If Sammamish offered more sit-down restaurant options, I wonder how long this place would exist. Would not recommend.

Good beer, but I give it two stars for the attitude the servers have. One example: EVERY bar I go to I order a fun drink that doesnt exist, so the bartender can make one up that is fun, maybe a signature cocktail for them. Of 100 bars I asked this at... only 2 wouldnt do it. Pine Lake Ale house was one of them. One other waitress was grumpy too... Food is decent, just the attitude drives me crazy there.

1 stars for the vibe: The "Locals Only" vibe is a joke. My extended family has lived in Sammamish for decades. This is a BAR wtih bar grade food...nothing more. Don't act like it's something unique and special. Another shop can open up down the road and this place would be in big trouble. Be THANKFUL for all of your patrons.

The food is generally greasy, nasty, and over priced. The service is hit and miss.

This place is very meh. I'm pretty convinced if it weren't the only thing open after 8pm in Sammamish that they would have been replaced long ago. The food is ok. Not offensive, but I haven't had any desire to go back. The service was...awkward? Not very friendly and our server seemed uncomfortable/offended by questions about the menu. Sorry, for being new customers I guess? I've worked in the service industry so I usually try to be really patient and understanding with waitresses, etc. Sometimes you're just having a bad day, I get it. But I wasn't overly impressed. My husband has gone back since our initial visit multiple times to meet with his guy friends for a beer...because NOTHING ELSE is open after 8pm. They do have a good beer selection, which he enjoys, but he's said that generally the service and food has been about the same quality as when we first went together...which is just mediocre at worst and passable at best.

  • M B.

We tried the beef satay, Monte Carlo sandwich and burger....unfortunately the best part of the meal was the fries. We don't plan to go back. Jack in the Box across the street sounds more appealing.

This is a great local spot in Sammamish. The beer selection is fantastic (rotating taps, extensive menu - specializes in IPAs). The service is outstanding and the waitstaff rarely turns over. They take the time to remember your name. We would love to see the menu get a seasonal re-vamp, as regulars may desire some new choices and new visitors may desire more trendy or adventurous ones (can I put in a request for sweet potato fries?). Also, this place is really tough during peak hours (busy and noisy and often overrun with small children). We opt for off-peak hours, but during peak times you'll find the staff adept and efficient at moving tables to get you seated as quickly as possible. Expect a wait of up to 30 minutes during dinner hours. The Ale House is popular and could definitely benefit from a larger bar and even an expansion, but this is a family-owned restaurant that caters to families and they clearly take a lot of pride in their food and service. Definitely a recommend!

The ale house has very classic American menu and the staff is great! My issue is I can't get a consistent burger! Sometimes they are perfect and delicious but often they are super greasy and not fun to eat. Their fries are always great though so I keep returning .....

Great upscale pub. The food is amazing, the service is extremely friendly and the selection of beer is great!

Sammamish just doesn't have a lot of restaurant choices, but this one is a good one if you like beer selection. Besides those big chain restaurants with 100 taps, this place has the best beer selection in Seattle. The beer choices are always unique and ever changing. Of course they also have some of the usuals like Mac & Jacks and Manny's. I'm a fan of their food, although it seems expensive ... I guess those are Sammamish prices. I give the PLAH a 4-star rating mostly due to the decor ... or lack there of. I've been around Sammamish long enough to know that location used to be a US Bank. I still feel like I am in the bank when I'm there. I'd like to see the place decorated with some type of a theme or something to give it a little more character.

  • Sam L.

Positives: good beer list, nice location Negatives: service was poor, food (chicken nachos) was bland and dry, beer and food prices pretty steep Could potentially be so much better if they had friendly and attentive service and higher quality food options. With that location higher prices were expected but that should go along with better quality. They are going through some kind of a remodel but seems to be just the exterior?

Just moved to the area, and I have moved a lot, and I always like to find a local watering hole. I was lucky enough to wander into Pine Lake, and I felt like I was at home immediately. I've been twice this past week, and I can see that it will be a regular spot for a friendly face, a cold beer and a good sandwich. We had apps the first time, and a burger on the second visit. No complaints!

I went there today with my daughter. There is one word to rate their food "bland". I don't mind the price, we had fish 'n chips and chicken taquitos. In my life I haven't eaten such bland fish 'n chips. I don't know what they added in the tarter sauce, it was hopeless too. My daughter ate the rice and left the taquitos. Between the two of us we managed to finish one taquito and left three. Chips were good, so I ate them. I finished 3/4th of the fish and left the rest. Price, 34 dollars. Ambience is good. The waitress was 50 years old and had enough experience to not ask us how was the meal. She asked us if we want a box for the food but we refused. I guess she realized we didn't like the food so she didn't risk asking us. It's a pity, I really liked the ambience, but I am done with Pine Lake Ale house for the rest of my life. (I was cursing myself why didn't I choose MOD pizza of Domino's chicken wings, they are both a minutes walk from Ale house).

Recently, my son and I went fishing with the Scouts at Pine Lake Park up in Sammamish. Oh and yes it was raining. Fortunately we were well prepared for the wet conditions as we always are around here. Sammamish plateau is a lovely place as is much of Western Washington. Green and lush, houses nestle in amongst the woods and around the many many lakes. Pine Lake Park is just such a place. We drove our way down there around lunch to meet up with the scouts and the rain just pounded down the whole way. I was sure glad when I arrived and checked in via 4square that nearby was Pine Lake Ale House! The fishing setup was pretty good. Thanks to our guide, Ray Vermillion from Fishing for an Experience all we had to do was show up and then he'd take a group of three kids out in his boat for a 40 minute tour of the lake. The lake is stocked with trout and they do their best to ensure that each kid gets a chance to catch a fish. All the boys caught at least one fish. Post fishing we of course went to the Pine Lake Ale House for our lunch. The food was good basic pub grub, burgers, sandwiches, fish and chip but the beer menu was a sight to behold! Some are pretty ordinary beers like the Mac N Jack, Guinness, Stella Artois and Bud Light(eww) but the others, oh they are special. Most of the rest you rarely see on tap except at some of the best local pubs. Arrogant Bastard, Damnation, Odin Ruby and the Yeti are among those. I picked a beer that I've been drinking a lot lately, the Great Divide Yeti Imperial Stout. This beer won a silver medal at the Great American Beer festival and it certainly deserved it. The Yeti is a dark, rich and malty brew with a subtle "hoppy" bite to it. When you first sip it you taste the sweet almost molasses like flavors followed by the bite of the extra hops that went in to driving the ABV of this beer up to 9.5% - which is why they serve this in a twelve ounce tulip or snifter glass - 16 or 20 ounces of this would hit you pretty hard. One more thing of note - the wait staff at PLAH were wonderful. We didn't have to wait to be served and they were constantly though not overly cycling back to check in and make sure we had what we needed. What I liked best was that the waitress asked me if S could have another soda rather than asking him. Very wise and a classy move.

Great place, great food, and great staff! Just wish it was a bigger restaurant. It's always busy, sometimes hard to get a seat.

Decent beer selection. Hit and miss service. Some days the service is terrible, others it's great. We live close and there is nothing else around, so we are kind of stuck going here once in awhile. Breakfast is blah.

Came here because the beer selection looked good and the menu had some interesting choices. Food quality was disappointing (a bit below standard pub food). Beer prices weren't too bad, a bit on the expensive side but nothing unexpected. I liked the beer selection but there are enough good choices on the eastside for craft beer that it didn't stand out enough to make it worth coming back for food. Service was good, but it's most likely a place I won't visit very often. Issaquah Brewhouse is a better option if you're looking for something similar, in my opinion

Went to the Pine Lake Ale House for the first time with my family tonight. The food was ok but nothing spectacular typical grill food I guess. The service was decent and every thing was good until the check came. My mother wanted just cheese nachos and the menu only showed chicken nachos. We asked the waitress if we could get cheese nachos and she said you bet no problem. So then the check comes and I'm charged full price for the chicken nachos at $11 bucks. I pointed out to the waitress that we only had cheese and no chicken and if she could adjust the price as we were unaware we would be charged full price. She said she needed to speak with the manager first. She comes back and said that the manager said that sorry we don't offer cheese nachos on the menu so you have to pay full price even though you got no chicken and oh by the way sorry I didn't check or mention it first and let you know. Seriously? So the manager is not willing to shave a few bucks off on a bill that's approaching $100 dollars? Its not so much the few bucks to me as it is the principal and good business. Its apparent to me that this establishment is not concerned at all about their patrons! Such back business practice here, they have lost not only myself as a repeat customer but everyone in my family as well and everyone I can tell this story too. It all comes down to service and how you treat your patrons and as a customer I was not asking for much but this response speaks volumes about how this establishment feels about their customers. If you decide to try this place out be warned that its a buyer beware establishment. I fault the waitress for not being more informative or at least checking on it although she was very friendly and nice. And maybe some are saying I should have verified or asked and maybe that is a good point but more so the management to me does not care one bit about their patrons or understand how to run a good business. It was perceived as a screw you statement. See how long you stay in business with that attitude! Although I should have given a bad tip to the waitress for lack of knowledge or validation she gave good service and was very friendly so I tipped her normally. It was the conveyed management response that got to me. Such back business practice surprised they are still in business. Wont be back!

Updating to say that this is still our go-to place around Redmond/Issaquah/Carnation for a bacon cheeseburger, salad, and fries! Just as good as they've always been. A burger for me is an occasional indulgence (2-3 months or so), which is probably why I seem to write about burger places a lot. :-)

This restaurant was a major disappointment. First of all, it reminded me of being at Chucky Cheese because of the excessive number of kids that were running around: Why are there so many kids at an "alehouse"? Second, I thought it was incredibly rude that the server carded me and not my friend who is five days my junior: Card everyone in the party, so you don't make people feel old. Third, they served other people first who sat down after is. Fourth, they screwed up our drink order. And fifth, I got charged $0.25 for asking for extra au jus. I will never go back to this restaurant.

My dad and I wanted to go watch the baseball game and ended up at the Pine Lake Alehouse. The Food was fine. I ordered their mac n cheese with a caesar salad. The mac n cheese was a bit bland, but I liked the rich, gooey texture; it wasn't watered down. There were plenty flatscreen of TVs around. The restaurant is small enough that you don't have to squint to try and make out a score on a tv on the far wall. Service was fine; I have no complaints. The only thing that caught me off guard is how loud it gets. We were in around 545 and the volume started to really pick up as the restaurant filled. Lots of conversations but also lots of kids and families. Overall, my experience was fine. The food isn't incredible, but I came to watch a game not for 5-star food.

Lots of beer on tap, no red which was odd but was guided to another which was good. Had a sandwich which was originally a wrap. I asked to substitute it into a sandwich which was done, no questions asked. It was really good and great the next day too...had to take half home as leftovers! Seating is confusing...no hostess but lots of people waiting around ...some maybe confused? I sure was until someone half pointed to us at a table in the back. Ill give it another go, but hopefully will know where to sit next time.

Great Food. Great Beer Selection. Highly recommend the Fish and Chips. The homemade chili tartar sauce is the best. Always have to ask for extra tartar sauce.

OK-it really gets 3.5 because of the beer! We've been dining at 'PLAH' for the past four years, since we moved to WA. Our experience has always been relatively consistent; marginal food and great beer (probably in reverse order). We don't go out of our way to dine there but often take out of town guests due to convenience. We recently went to PLAH after a 1 year hiatus... I have to say the food has improved, a bit. The ingredients seemed fresher (not 'more fresh'), and the taste of all our dishes seemed better than in times past. Beer--always great rotating taps!! Still a tad spendy for beer, but it's all good. They updated the old chalk boards to TV-like digital displays. Nice touch and great for aging beer drinkers (like me) to order without squinting. Few more consistent outings at Pine Lake Ale House and it gets bumped to 4-stars.

I love this place, it's where you can go for a good consistent beer (and try some new ones) and the waitstaff knows your name. The food is pretty good, slightly better than standard pub fare, can get a little loud, but it's the place I want to go when I'm in the mood for a relaxing and friendly dinner!

What a great restaurant. Great food, great service and they even played some awesome jazz music! Great for a Saturday morning meal. I had the prime rib scramble and it was delicious, especially with the horseradish sauce. They have some great beers on tap and will even let you try them before you drink them. Ask for Katie, she's the best server ever!!!

Wow. Super poor service. Surprised me as this is in Sammamish where one thinks people would have better manners. Woman was so rude. Very upsetting. Even if the food is good- the rudeness ruined it for me. Won't be back won't recommend.

A nice place with good food and great beers. My only complaint is too many kids. I prefer my brew pubs to be adult only by then this is Sammamish, the prototypical "married with children" community. I have heard rave reviews of their Sunday breakfasts. Will have to try someday

  • Casey A.

I like this place quite a bit. Always interesting beer selections. Tried quite a few menu items, and they range from not bad to pretty good. My favorites are the southwest style burger and the nachos. The nachos are some of the better american pubby type nachos around, a big pile of cheesy goodness. Staff is really friendly. They're pretty much the only game in town for a good brew on the hill. Really busy Thursday and Friday nights. Don't come in here expecting anything that's gonna blow you away, but it's definitely a decent spot to grab a brew and some grub.

  • Joyce J.

The service was really friendly. We ordered hot tea and the waitress came constantly to refill our hot water. I tried the ginger beef skewer which was served over salad greens. The flavor and seasoning was quite nice and not a bad low-carb option. My friend went with the Mac N' Cheese and it came with fries. There were TVs around the place showing the latest game and also it has quite a few brew on tap. So a good place to hangout with friends or bring family for a chill meal.

If you're looking for some good brews and tasty pub food this is your place in Sammamish. Always lots of beers to choose from and an array of menu options from the unique Monte Cristo to fish tacos, or soup and salad. I like a classic cheeseburger myself and theirs is made from high quality ingredients and full of flavor. Not to mention anything they fry is to die for!!

  • Kylie N.

Pros: -One of the only restaurants in Sammamish so it's convenient for locals (definitely not worth driving to from elsewhere, though) -Small, intimate restaurant -Good selection of beer Cons: -Food is very average... it's just bar food -Prices are pretty spendy for how 'okay' the food is.. but it's Sammamish, so you can't expect anything less -Service is terrible... slow to take your order, slow to get drinks, slow to get your food, they never check in to see if you want refills, and it's slow getting your check. If you want to spend 2 hours waiting for and only slightly enjoying pricey, bar food without having to leave the plateau, Pine Ale House is the way to go. (This review is based on an average of about 10 visits over the past 6 years)

We are new to the area, and we were looking for a place to explore. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I loved it. A little spendy, but the beer was great. The waitress was nice. It was a little loud, and they do seem to stay busy. I loved it, or at least I didn't have any complaints.

Slow, slow, slow service, average food but friendly waitress (who was very slow). Got the halibut wrap and absolutely no flavor in the halibut, filled with cheese and colesaw to compensate. Fries were OK. Husband's burger was dry. He had to keep adding ketchup for flavor. Waited 15 minutes for beers and another 10 minutes for water (after reminding the waitress). Food was very average. Very kid friendly... not a place to "throw back a few beers". Issaquah Brewhouse is WAY better and worth the extra few minutes to drive. Very disappointed after recently moving to the area.

My family went there tonight.......service is good but the portion is very surprised. I ordered the fish & chips, the 2 tiny fishes is good enough for kid but no adult. The price is $16.99....very pricey for me! I don't think I will go back for dinner, maybe will try their lunch in some days!

Stopped by after skiing. We ordered burger and Reuben sandwich. Pretty sure the burger was a frozen patty. Yuk! Reuben bread was mediocre. We've banned this place but gave it another try. No more.

I've always been happy with the food here - the burgers (which should be any pub's go-to food) are always better than Sammamish Cafe's. The taps rotate pretty frequently and they bring in some good beer which is nice. My only complaint in this department is that they almost always have way too many IPAs at the expense of other beer types like stouts, porters, and hefs. It's the end of October and about half of their taps are still IPAs or pale ales. Come on, let's see some love for the darker beers during the fall and winter! My only other complaint is pricing - I'd come here a lot more often if the beers weren't over $5 per pint. As far as I know they don't have any happy hour specials either... so it's kind of a tough sell for me to come here when I can go across the parking lot to Safeway and have a much larger selection of microbrews at my disposal. I'd like to see them try some early and mid-week happy hour specials. Otherwise if I feel like going out for a drink and don't want to leave the plateau, they are a good option.

We stop here at least once a week with our kids, the service and quality of the food is consistently very good. We visited last night and I tried the halibut tacos for the first time which were excellent, and recommend highly. The beer selection is solid and suggest the wings or nachos - both are great starters. The noise level is higher than normal which is good for those with kids or those who don't mind. If you are looking for a quiet dinner, this is likely not your place. We recommend highly for families or for groups. This is also my "go to spot" after golf with friends. Enjoy, well done folks.

We came to the Ale House on a weeknight for a quick beer and dinner. The food was OUTSTANDING. I had a cobb salad and my date had the monte cristo sandwich. My salad was great, but my date's sandwich made him want to get a job there. In fact, we tried to replicate it at home. The service is also great. The staff is friendly and family-based. They were attentive, let us sample a couple beers, and had us laughing a couple times. I would highly recommend coming here. Great restaurant!!! One of our favs!

Dark dive bar feel, polite but not too friendly wait staff, the air smelt of cat pee... Good beer selection, reasonable prices. I sat at the bar on a Sunday afternoon, was reasonably relaxed, side of fees I ordered were ok. Men's bathroom was a mess. I might come back.

Been a year since my last review. I'm pretty sure I've been in once or twice a week almost every week since then. Here's what's changed: * Beer is even better, especially if you're an IPA fan. PLAH even got a Pliney the Younger allocation this year, although I did have to buy a glass of a RRB beer called "Supplication" that was everything I envisioned raccoon urine would taste like. That said, there are always 4-5 SOLID choices on the board and they continue to fill growlers. Sorry M&V, you're a clear 2nd now and I'll take PLAH for beer over any other Eastside destination you want to put up against it. * We crash PLAH for breakfast occasionally on the weekend. There's no wait (unlike Sammamish Cafe, which has better breakfast food hands-down) and I like their corned beef hash. Downside is they don't have a kids menu. Fortunately, the wait staff is flexible with mixing and matching for the kiddos. Overall, I think this is a win. * The wait is still the same at night, especially on the weekends. On the bright side, they've got .5L mugs and serve in the waiting area. Because nothing says "Dad of the Year" like half a liter of Imperial IPA before you even get to the table. And I'm just fine with that. If I cared about the wait, I'd get there earlier. * The staff actually makes an effort to remember your name if you come in enough. Thank you Karen (and Annie) for giving a sh*t. * The food is consistent. I love the French Dip. I love the Pastrami. I love the Cheese Steak. Recurring theme here is sandwiches with red meat. Freaking fantastic. I'm sure the halibut is lovely, as is the pasta, but good lord, if it ain't broke don't fix it. It ain't broke. It's AWESOME.

My wife and I have been here a lot. It can be busy most evenings especially Thursday and Friday nights. Either get there early (before 6) or later on (about 8) to avoid the super busy period, or you'll have to wait for a table. Service is generally very good, although if you get there along with lots of other groups they can get overwhelmed. It's never been bad though. Food is good but only if you stick to bar food. Burgers, salads, sandwiches, that sort of thing. I veered off the plan and had Mexican food which was bad, a way-too-salty pea soup, and a couple of other things. Stick to bar food and you'll be good. I've always liked their burger. Beer selection is excellent which is the main reason I gave it a good review. The selection rotates quite a bit. If you don't like your stronger pales/IPAs you might find it a little harder to find something, but they have a wide selection overall. Yes, it's pretty pricey but options are severely limited on the plataeu. WE NEED ANOTHER ALE HOUSE! Someone, please open one.

  • Sylvia J.

Their halibut burger is my favorite thing to order here. I'm also a fan of their Monte Cristo, one of their most popular dishes. Definitely worth the drive to Sammamish if you're not from the area. It's not in a great location but there's always plenty of parking. There's an extensive/unique beer selection & would please a lot of IPA lovers because they have some really good ones. They regularly switch up the beers they have on tap, so it's always fun to get to try new ones. Only reason why I didn't give them 4 or 5 stars is because the service is slow. Countless times, I've had to wait for my waitress for over 20 minutes for a refill on water or the check. Also, keep in mind that this is more of a family restaurant than an "ale house." Definitely has more of a suburban restaurant feel to it but their food&beer selection makes up for it.

It is always a great place to hang out and relax. All the staff are very friendly and make it a point to remember you the next time you come in. The food is great as well. Its a step above most "pub" food .. but it is pub food so don't expect Super fancy :-) I highly recommended you stop in and check it out :-)

This is a great local business. They have a great beer selection and make a solid french dip. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their current beer selection. It's always busy and they generally have sports on the TV's. Only issue I have is their tortilla chips are a little bland.

So I've eaten here for years and love all the food. The staff is phenomenal and super friendly. A couple of weekends ago, I experienced something new... Breakfast at the Ale House. FANTASTIC! The French toast was the best I've ever had, hands down, the best. The sad part is that they only do breakfast on the weekend. If you're around the area on a Saturday or Sunday morning, stop in!

We have been living on the plateau since June and have been looking for someplace with good comfort food, alas until now without success. We had lunch at the Ale House yesterday and truly enjoyed ourselves. Our service was great. We had the Halibut Sandwich grilled, the Shrimp Alfredo, the Keg Burger, and the French Dip. All were really good. Ironically, the pasta was better than the so called Italian restaurant across the street. We will be back again soon.

Nice place to relax. Good service, good food. ---update--- Maybe they changed cooks or something but the food quality has gone down the crapper big time. I got a burger about a month ago and it was nasty. I looked in the kitchen at who was cooking and it was 3 Mexican dudes, so I thought to myself...okay next time I will get an item off the Mexican part of the menu. So a couple days ago I did just that...I ordered the Taquitos. I could barely cut them with my knife and fork. Tasted like burnt deepfried sticks of burnt chicken. Ugh! Next time I'm sticking with just their beer selection, which is always up to par.

Always the fallback restaurant for my group of friends. This is the best place to eat on the plateau. Always a great selection of beer and there is a full bar for those non-beer drinkers. The menu is pretty standard pub food. Good burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips, etc. The fries can be hit and miss sometimes, but good most of the time. There is no dessert menu- so that is something to keep in mind. Oh yeah... and they do takeout for those Friday nights that you don't want to wait an hour for a seat :)

Very noisy, very slow service. two wait staff for whole place, plus one wandering do nothing. Price is higher than warranted. Sandwiches are dry...fries are good. Won't return, no need to subject myself to so-so service and average food. And the noise is terrible, way too loud...makes me think of an adult chucky cheese.

Very good food - love the reuben, chicken sandwich, and hamburgers. The only negative is the service. We have been 5 times and each time the service is not great. This last time we did not get a refill on our water and tea the entire meal. We literally sat there the entire time we ate with nothing to drink and could not find a waitress to even ask. Other than that, the food is very good and we will be back!

I would visit this place based on the convenience factor only. Considering that the food is a "bar food", it is quite pricey.

I went here one evening for a to-go order. I was impressed (to say the least) at the great service, rapid preperation and overall taste. So... I went back. This time I wanted to drink! As luck would have it, their house whiskey is Ezra Brooks (my fav). I ordered a burger and fries and it was delicious! Big ol meaty patty and all the killer fixins. So... I went back. This time I drug my entire family in there. They loved it. The mac n cheese was good, burger good, and the seafood was reportedly good. The whiskey is good, too :) It was cool to find a place to go and watch the game with my kids that still has a little feel of me being an adult. TV's are newer and in good spots. It's not real loud and the service is good.

The chicken wings here the best wings I've ever had. Ever. So good! Good beer selection, bring you samples if you ask for one. The chicken Bacon sandwich is delicious! I've been staying at a friends in Sammamish for over a month now and I've been to this place about once a week, best place on the plateu :)

This is definitely one of the better places in the Sammamish area. Good service and good food. The food is very consistent in quality which is a huge plus for me. My go to dishes are the chicken wrap and prime rib dip. Yum! It gets really busy on Friday evenings but most other evenings it's ok. The prices are a little higher but it's the plateau so it's expected.

Pine Lake Al House is, indeed, as good as it gets. This is a fantastic little pub-like establishment with incredible food and even better service. It's absolutely a family atmosphere, and every server is very happy to ensure you have an awesome experience at their restaurant. PLAH has some of the best sandwiches I've ever had (don't miss the club sandwich - great artisan bread!) Lots of TVs and a great beer list (local and microbrew) make PLAH a fun place to watch a game, but it is still a fun place for kids, and families are definitely not made to feel unwelcome. I highly recommend PLAH and can't wait to go back!

It's all about the sandwiches and soups. I've got the pasta once and it was just eh. The beer selection is pretty good and the staff are great - it's definitely a local business with lots of connections around. This makes the service a tad slow but it's not a big deal. A good place to have a nice conversation with friends over food and beer. It is a bit loud at times but not at all unbearable. It can get really busy during dinner time/weekends.

My husband and I love this place! Everyone is so friendly, food is the best, and beer selection is top notch. It's a neighborhood hot spot, everyone knows what's up. Just stop by around the busy dinner hour. No matter how busy it is, they keep things running top notch. They even serve you drinks when you do have to wait for a table. And it's a great family atmosphere as well, clean and cozy. Definite recommendation for even the pickiest alehouse visitor.

The Pine Lake Ale House is a tried and true favorite. I can't say that I've ever been disappointed and if I have, any complaint has always been surely and promptly addressed by the very friendly waitstaff who seem to know my parents and their friends by name since they go there so often. Good burgers, good salads. Try the turkey wrap if you want something different but my favorites are the spicy chicken or teriyaki chicken burger. The plateau is in need of more good places to eat, but the Eastside in general could do with establishments of similar quality and service as that of the Ale House. Oh, almost forgot...free wifi too. This is a popular place, so expect to wait for a table if you come during peak hours but one could always sit at the bar as well.

great location near me. :) good service, nice folks working there. good variety of beers on tap. tasty food. no sound on TVs, which allows for conversation without yelling. they will change to different channel if there is some other sport game you would like to see.

While we don't have a lot of options here in the deep 'burbs, I refuse to go to the Ale House ever again. The food just simply isn't interesting. Folks keep saying it is good pub fare....I have to wonder if they have ever been to a pub. This is decent diner fare at best. The Ale House is neither a pub (hence all the children) nor a decent restaurant (bad food, so-so service). What is the point?

  • Beau R.

In the end, the Pine Lake Ale House is average. The low points average out the high points. I kind of shrug my shoulders when I think about eating at this place again. What kind of place comes out this way? This is an eating establishment in the Safeway shopping center - I've driven past it many times and never noticed it. But when you go inside, you've entered a pub and you no longer realize that you are in a grocery store strip mall in the suburbs. At luch it was crowded with business people and families alike. There are like 15 beers on tab (including Thomas Kemper Root Beer - it has got to be better when on tab). It is a great selection, written on a chalk board. They had Racer 5 IPA, several of the Mac and Jacks and more. They have a long menu with salads, burger and sandwiches. The lunch menu even lists their single malts (I assume it is *the* menu, though). I had a hard time picking because the food I saw on the other tables looked really good. My wife got the spicy chicken sandwich. It was, meh. I went with the Philly Cheese Steak. And was reminded of my rule: Don't order Philly Cheese Steaks outside of Philadelphia. It was a french dip with a little cheese. Good beer selection. Nice bar. Nothing special in the food section. I shrug my shoulders.

If you go during dinner and get the halibut wrap, send message to kitchen NOT to cut up the halibut - really diminishes the flavor of the dish for some reason.

This place has great food and THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!! I've lived in Sammamish since 1991 and have been eating here ever since this place opened. Every time I go there I tell myself that it is the last time because the service is ALWAYS horrible (I'm talking about a bunch of air-headed sixteen-year-old girls and bitchy tired miserable old housewives as the only service staff), but I always end up coming back because it's close and the food is fabulous. I recommend this place for take-out orders only!!!

As someone else pointed out, there is not much really in Sammamish by way of decent restaurants. This does make the ale house somewhat stand out in this area. However, Pine Lake Ale House gets a 4 star from me though for 3 reasons: 1. They have a most excellent Monte Cristo sandwich. 2. They have a good selection of northwest beer on tap. 3. The ambiance is pretty good with no loud music playing so decent for conversations (The service here is "usually" pretty good as well. I had a few times where our waitress was seated and having a conversation with someone while we were waiting, but that was only twice of many times.) A tip though is to not come during dinner time on either weekends or week days. There is usually a line (don't forget to write your name on the list), but since there is no where to wait, people just end up standing in front of the door in a crowd. Given its a sit-down restaurant, this line goes somewhat slowly too. After 8pm is usually not as busy.

A little pricey but pretty good food. Great beer selection (and that's what's really important, isn't it?!). Nice bar set-up with TVs...a little loud though so not good for a quiet dinner.

We stopped in today before hitting up Rattlesnake Lake. Upon entering we were immediately greeted by a man sitting at the bar (I'm going to assume he's an owner, because he also thanked us on the way out). Before we even sat down, the server -- I believe her name was Wendi -- was arriving with some crayons and paper for our son and to take our drink order. With so much "I hate my life" service out there, Wendi was a breath of fresh air. She was pleasant and happy, and that makes all the difference. The food could've been mediocre and I still would've left feeling okay about the experience. But the food wasn't mediocre. My wife ordered the fish and chips, my son got the kid's quesadilla, and I went with the BLT (which was actually a BLAT). Everything on my plate was fresh and tasty. They give a generous portion of bacon, seemed like at least 6 slices. The tomato was flavorful, as was the avocado, and the bread was just right. My side salad was just the normal field greens you can get anywhere, but they were fresh, and the tomato was fresh too. I like fresh. Needless to say I ate most of the food on my plate. My wife had some fish she didn't have room for so I figured I would take one taste and that would be it. It ended up being so good that I ate the rest! The fish was REAL FISH and it tasted good. I didn't have any fries until after our trip to the lake, and for old fries they were actually pretty good. My son and I finished them off on the way home. I'm not sure if they cut them in house or not, but they were tasty so it doesn't really matter. Good beer selection. I went with the HUB lager, which is always a winner. They also had Full Sail Black Gold, which is a crazy bourbon barrel aged stout, so this place definitely knows beer. Bottom line: I will be back whenever I'm in the area for the great service, surprisingly good food, and nice beer selection.

There's nothing in Sammamish, so my standards are kind of low for the area. They do have a nice beer selection. For example, some high-test standbys they had last night: Mirror Pond, Arrogant Bastard, Manny's, and Immortal IPA. Also, we were with regulars, so our waitress was VERY nice and helpful. Both times I've been, the food was kind of... blah. I've tried fish and chips and taquitos. The table of 6, except me, liked their over-sized onion rings.I thought they were needlessly greasy. I think I'd stick with the burger.

I wish this place was more of a sports bars, it would make a killing being the only one of its kind on the Plateau. Generally there seems to be plenty of little league parties and late night parent meetings.... That being said, the staff is awesome, the food is well above "bar" average, and the prices are very reasonable. It's not the type of place to get rowdy with a bunch of your friends late at night, but the meals are great, the drinks are good and the place is clean. Could use a few more TVs and a larger area to hang out (in lieu of dinner tables) but there's not much to complain about. Definitely more of a pub than a bar (feels a lot like a restaurant most of the time)

I love this place! Whether you're watching football or meeting up with the girls...there is always something to see and the food is phenomenal! There is one server (I wish I could remember her name) that I just adore...she's great...turned me on to having ranch as a dip with my monte cristo...and jam...so good! Lots of local beers on tap and full bar...and about 5 TVs...and kids are welcome so makes watching the big game easy and fun!

  • Chet M.

Beer is decent, but food is WAY over priced and comes in really small portions. I think my french dip was coated in salt. it was really loud and people tend to bring their kids so I felt like it was a damn Chucky-Cheese. Its an Alehouse not a Red Robin!!!

  • Rhondalei G.

Decent for bar food but nothing spectacular. I have had nachos and fettucine alfredo here and they were ok. I would like to come back and enjoy a beer on tap sometime and try some other food selections.

We've only had breakfast here but it was the best breakfast we've had since moving to the plateau. As many have said...there are not a lot of options here - so the Ale House gets bonus points for just being a good choice among very few! But the breakfast was really hearty and delicious. Our server was new but really enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu. I like that you can bring your kid (ours behaves when we go out) and still have a nice variety of beers to select from. Good grub in Sammamish.

We've been to the Ale House about five times, and it's been consistently good. Not great, maybe...but good. If you like battered, crunchy fries, try theirs. Pretty good, but nothing classy about 'em. I tried their fried halibut sandwich today. It comes with shredded iceberg lettuce, which I'd leave out...I scraped it all off. The tartar, on the other hand, was delicious. The halibut was panko-crusted (yes!), and the bun was buttered and toasted before it was slathered with tartar. Very nice. My husband ordered onion rings, and they were a bit...freaky. Huge, hand-cut, battered, they were just a bit much. Didn't have much flavor (usually, I peel off the batter and eat it on its own, but...this was not good), and certainly was not better than the fries. The service is usually good, but I wouldn't say it's great, ever.

A-OK and yay! for Pine Lake Ale House...since I first visited, I've been back numerous times and I am of a changed attitude. I know what items on the menu fit with me and I love the rotating taps. Staff is efficient and friendly. Orders arrive promptly and did I mention that I love the rotating taps? I still don't order the fish tacos. Instead I go for the Fish n' Chips - just better karma for me. See you soon, PLAHouse!

It can be a little loud at night, but the BLT and coleslaw are consistently excellent, and lunchtime service is great for meeting up with friends and chatting. The servers are always really friendly, and happy to chat if you're dining alone.

I'm a new fan of the Pine Lake Ale House. The only way that you would ever find it is by referral only, being that it's in an out of the way strip mall, but don't let that fool you. I loved the pub-like atmosphere, although a few too many kids for my liking. I would probably opt to go later in the evening to avoid them. I was with my daughter. She ordered a great boutique beer and I ordered a super margarita (hard to find). The Monte Cristo and the Philly steak sandwich were delicious. The onion rings and fries were some of the best ever. And to top it off, I loved the service. It seems like they work as a team and are friendly and effiecient. I will travel from Kirkland to go to the Pine Lake. Keep up the great work!

Upside: The food is good. Downside: Like others have said, the service has something to be desired. I rarely view service speed as an attribute of the actual servers but rather the management. Our server appeared busy, not chatty, but had a lot to do... that tells me it's not her fault. The speed wasn't overly offensive but rather mildly annoying. I don't like waiting for another drink and don't feel a restaurant should be arrogant enough to make me wait for one... isn't this the way they make their highest profit? I'll go back as I like their food and just hope some day they hire a few more people to help.

Pretty good, just about your average pub fare. Maybe even slightly below average. Don't expect greatness and you will be ok.

I haven't found many unique places to eat in and around Sammamish... but this place actually has the feel of a tried and true local establishment. Good pub fare and they have a great selection of beer on tap... 20 or so. Their fish and chips are battered in Mac & Jack's which was something out of the norm :) Our service was great and there was a good mix of people there... couples, families, and groups both young and old Overall a great neighborhood spot for drinks and grub.

I'm a fan! I grew up in this area and glad to see that there is finally a successful restaurant here. It's not fancy, just a come-as-you-are place for a drink and a bite to eat. This location seems to be bad luck for most restaurants (or is it just that restaurants are a tricky business?) In any case, the burgers are great and the service makes me happy. I can't speak for the rest of the food, which is likely serviceable, but not great. You obviously wouldn't be hitting up the Sammamish Highlands shopping center if you're looking for haute cuisine, so overall, I think this place is a great fit for the neighborhood. The only negative as I see it, is probably also something that keeps this place in business (and a good fit for the area): The kids. This place seems to be some sort of green zone for parents of the under-10 set who like to take their kids with them to restaurants. Very often, I've observed that these parents are of the "I don't notice the shrieking and crying of my own children" persuasion. I'd expect this at say, a Red Robin, but it seems a little off-putting at an "Ale House." To these parents I humbly ask: please consider a sitter. Other than that, I think that the Pine Lake Ale House is spot-on.

I have been going to the Pine Lake Ale House for years with my family on the plateau. I've always enjoyed the tasty pastrami sandwich, and their french fries are in my top 2 regionally! I wanted to go to their website to email a suggestion, but they don't have one so this was my only option. I recently switched to a vegan diet, and I was excited to see the vegetarian tacos on their menu (which I ordered sans cheese). However, when I got them I was sad to discover that they were completely unseasoned. Vegans and Vegetarians have tastebuds too! When I make blackbean tacos at home, we simply season the blackbeans with taco seasoning...and they're delicious! Your vegetarian and vegan customers would really appreciate some seasoning- just order a bottle of taco seasoning on your next order with Sysco, and sprinkle it in the black beans when you make this. It will dramatically improve the dish for only pennies.

In the past I had enjoyed Pine Lake Ale House as a place to meet with friends for a pint & a bite to eat. However my visit in May will keep me from returning. The waitress we had was rude, short and very unchild friendly. I brought the issue up with the manager / owner that we were having problems with the waitress (i.e. getting water, taking our order basic things.) She did not listen to our concerns and in no way cared. It rates near the top of my short list of bad service at ANY restaurant in the US. To ensure those that may think it was a busy weekend evening, it was not. And I will not return. Please think twice about giving them ANY of your business.

Great food, great service, great beer. The ladies that work there are tough! They don't put up with BS from customers! The owner is awesome and appreciates you coming in. The servers and bartenders are amazing and they treat you like family. Philly cheese steak, Alfredo pasta, and the club are the best there. Breakfast is also top notch. Expect a wait on the busy nights. Not a lot of places to go in sammamish so it does get packed quick. Would be cool for outdoor seating but the location doesn't really allow it. Maybe Simone's and the ale house could switch?
