You probably haven't heard of it, but Northport is a quaint little town in northeastern Washington on the US-Canada border. Don't drive too fast, or you might miss it. I wanted to get this review up to encourage anyone using the border crossings to/from from Rossland or Trail, BC to stop in!!! No need to wait the extra hour or three till the next actual city!! I lived there for a while, and was always disappointed with the fact that the only dining out options were the two local pubs. Pub food is good and all, but sometimes a little more variety and a little less deep fried is a good thing. The Mustang Grill solved the dining dilemma for this town- offering "meals with a kick"- delicious home cooked meals, with a small menu of popular items and unique daily specials that keep you coming back. A couple great feature of this restaurant include the the salad bar, and the fresh baked goods. Really, who doesn't love pie, including crust from scratch, fresh out of the oven!! I like to go for breakfast, usually ordering eggs benedict, or my favorite special item, the huevos rancheros! There are also some fancy pancakes, banana nut I think... I'll get those when I'm feel like something sweet. I'm pretty sure it's open for breakfast and lunch daily, but I'm unsure about the dinner hours... The town is so small, breakfast and lunch is probably the best idea anyways in order to allow the bars to survive by serving the later "crowds". Just call if you're unsure- small town, so everyone who works there is SUPER friendly.
