I go scuba diving about 5 miles north of Eagle Creek Saloon and usually zip right past this place coming and going. A dive buddy of mine said that we should stop by to grab some lunch on the way out of town to celebrate me completing my Dive Master Certification. It was a beautiful afternoon, so we decided to park it outside and soak up the sun. We got our drinks and the cold frosty locally brewed IPA was soothing. The owner was super friendly and cheerful. While my friends ordered the 1/4 lb Cheeseburger and the Bacon Cheeseburger with a fried egg on it, I decided to go with the 2nd to largest burger, which was the 3/4 lb Creek Burger with grilled onion, bacon and cheese. Oh yeah and just for the heck of it, let's go ahead and throw on a fried egg :-)... Ordered rare, this bloody goodness was Perfect! Messy and juicy! What a delight! I'm definitely going to make this a regular stop when scuba diving at my friends house up at Hood Canal. Overall Rating: 95% Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Drink Selection: 4/5 Price: 4/5
In a beautiful setting, with outdoor places where we were able to take a minor, this place exceeded every expectation. The service was as good as any I have seen anywhere in the nation. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious. We will definitely be back again and again. I would be willing to make an occasional trip from the south Sound just to eat here, it's that good.
LOML and I decided to take the new truck for a day-long road trip to celebrate and to get out of the city. We wanted to see some mountains up close and some undeveloped waterfront without leaving the comfort of the vehicle so a trip around Hood Canal seemed to fit the bill. We have an ongoing love of casual dining (AKA bar food) so I looked on Yelp for someplace a couple of hours into the trip from our West Seattle home and found out about Eagle Creek Saloon. It sounded like just our sort of place and, in reality, didn't disappoint. The food was good and plentiful, the prices reasonable, and the service very friendly. LOML had the blue cheese/bacon burger and fries. The burger was pressed fresh in their kitchen and the fries were perfect. I had halibut and chips. We were told that all fish was fresh delivered except for cod which they buy in large frozen pieces and cut, bread, fry themselves. Anyway, the halibut was terrific; lightly battered and crispy on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside. "Treated like locals" pretty much sums up the service. They seemed to be genuine in their happiness to see whoever drops in. The place has a little bit of quirky decorations in addition to the usual bar signs. Furniture consists of tables and chairs and a coin-op pool table in the center of the room. Overall, it's a place that has been in business a long time and looks it. There is outdoor seating but it wasn't in the plan on this raining spring day. I could definitely see it in summer though or even getting take out and wandering over the highway to sit on the shore. We don't get over that way very often but when we do we'll eat at Eagle Creek.
