Bias alert 1: I normally eschew - with a vengeance - anything that has 'calico' or 'hobby' or 'cozy' or 'nook' in the name, just on general crabby-ass principle. Bias alert 2: I am notoriously picky about breakfast, because it is so freaking cheap to make that I really really resent having to pay much of anything more than a buck fifty for a coupla eggs over easy and some hot Joe. I almost never feel like it's been worth what I've paid. So I almost never eat breakfast outside of my own kitchen. But last weekend when we stayed at the Skagit Bay Hideaway (OMG, check it out) and didn't pack any breakfast food (the Hideaway is awesome, but no longer a B&B, so... no B for us!), we needed someplace to fuel up so Russell wouldn't keel over from low blood sugar on the drive home. (He has a HIGH metabolism.) Checked out the menu here because there are not that many breakfast joint options in La Conner. Noticed that they serve EGG WHITES ONLY. This is a huge point for Russell, so we checked it out, and were very very happy! Good plain American-style coffee, served in a classic diner mug, topped up automatically without me having to ask. Real milk in a little metal jug. R's glass of orange juice was BIG. He ordered his eggs whites, bacon, and fried potatoes a la carte from the sides selections - and the efficient, pleasant waitress steered him toward "The Fisherman," which is the same thing, only with toast, and more bacon, for less money! Big points already. It was a good meal, too. Nicely crisp potatoes, 4 slices of good bacon, bread for the toast from their bakery, excellent jam, local eggs, yum. I got the biscuits and gravy. Let me rephrase that. I got THE BISCUITS AND GRAVY THAT THEY SERVE IN HEAVEN. Large ironstone plate, warmed. Atop it, a hot, fresh, perfectly-light-on-the-inside and golden-crispy-on-the-outside biscuit, right out of the oven, split into two surprisingly large halves, lavished with milky gravy that was not too thin and not at all gooey/thick, studded with nice big proper discrete pieces of excellent fried sausage - not tiny amorphous crumbles like many places serve. With it, two farm-fresh local eggs, over easy. (BTW - $6.99 without the eggs, $8.99 with the eggs. Nice price!) But more important than the price is that it was PERFECT. To die for. SOOOOO very good! The fresh tender biscuit. The savory creamy gravy. The porky goodness of the sausage. The flavor-packed egg yolks, bright orangey-yellow and velvety and delicious and.... Thunk. Falls over in food delirium. The end.
This little place is absolutely delicious! I ordered the breakfast quesadilla and it was to die for! I totally suggest this place to anyone looking for a scrumptious farm to table breakfast! :)
This place was really nice. I got the chicken burrito and it was to die for and them my mom got the squash hash and loved it. For dessert I got the chocolate silk pie and my mom took a bite but ended up eating about half of it she liked it so much. There was a lot of options that all looked good and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend it!!

I love this place. Everything is so fresh. We started out with the fries with Gorgonzola, they were amazing and plentiful. I had the bacon avocado burger. It was juicy and big. The bun seemed to be baked in store or probably from Calico Cupboard. I had it with onion rings which were good. The prices are a little high for my taste usually, but well worth it. I will come back when i am in the area.
Had a great dinner here recently. Service was very good, the food was delicious and the ambiance cute and comfy. We tried the jalapeño poppers- tasty and filling, flavorful and not too spicy. The crab cakes were good but I would have preferred more lumps of pure crab, less bread crumbs. The Caesar salad was great.
This is a good choice in LaConner, after making it a priority to try out the two 5-star options (see my other reviews!....) Food and service are always solid, and have always had a good meal here. Desserts are well-known and worth saving room for if possible.

This was a great experience with the wait staff and the beer. We didn't stop to get food but it looks good in others people's plates! The beer is great. As a person stopping by in a boat I really liked the local beer option in a great little town!
food: reasonable price, but mediocre. service: asked for water but the waitress gave it to me after I'm done with my food. ambience: cool and casual. very relaxed. highlight of the place.
So here it is a brewing company, and nobody at my table ordered beer. (I think we picked the wrong restaurant for lunch.) I had a hankering for a hamburger. Go elsewhere if that's what you want. My burger was dry, overcooked, and not all that meaty. (Did they mix in too much filler?) My friend got a pulled pork sandwich which she said was okay, but not the best she's had. Rather than a sweet sauce, hers was spicy. Someone in my group ordered a quesadilla, which she said was delicious. I dunno. Mixed reviews at my table. I think this place is okay, and clearly not hurting for business during tulip season. Friendly service, nice bar-type atmosphere. In my opinion, there are places down the road which may be better.
