Everyone I know has been raving about this place for breakfast. So I tried it this past Sunday. Awesome! Waffles were to die for! I looked over the lunch menu and now I want to go back for lunch. Good old fashioned home cooking! Nice staff.

Definitely the neighborhood breakfast joint in downtown Kent. It felt like a place to take Grandpa or Dad. Sunday was packed. Lots of old timers. My fam members and I took the last open table. The server who took our order was quick writing our order down but we waited a long time for our food. Their kitchen isn't as big as those chain restaurants. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast. The steak was good. The hashbrowns were okay. I didn't like the eggs and toast. I also stole a sausage link from my fam member's plate and that tasted good. It was an interesting experience. If I come back I won't order the eggs and toast.

Wanted to try the hash, but we were too late! So we had eggs and meatloaf, which was really good. Not too sad about the has any more!

Out for a morning coffee and breakfast with my friend Dave. We try to get together at least once a month to catch up on life and when we met at one of our old favorite spots it was closed. We headed for downtown Kent and driving down Meeker street through old town we saw Maggie's with a crowd of people out front talking on the sidewalk. Let's try here! Based on the storefront I was expecting it to be a small place and was surprised how large and roomy it is inside. I also noticed right away the mix of people that were here. Oldtimers, families, friends of all ages, people dressed up stopping in after church, and people like us just comfy and casual enjoying a Sunday morning out. This is my first time here and it has a wonderful unpretentious hometown feel. Not fancy, almost feels like a cafeteria, yet welcoming, clean, a little eclectic, but not cluttered. The gals that took care of us were awesome and fun and made sure we knew there was no hurry to eat and run. I had scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and toast. I have to say the hash browns are some of the best ever, crunchy on the outside, moist and steamy on the inside. The bacon was exceptional. Four thick slices and just the way I like it, a little well done but not burnt. We were there about an hour and 45 minutes when I surrendered and stopped the coffee refills. I highly recommend this place and again there's plenty of room to bring the whole family or the gang from work. I'll be back.

made it back here a few weeks ago and this place is still super crazy good... I wish i could go here more but my fatness would be out of control cause I would be eating so much food.

I literally thought this was going to be my dream diner. Right around the corner from the farmer's market, mostly older clientele (i.e. not a "scene" at all), just a straight up greasy spoon, but with some things you might not expect, like a veggie quiche and lots of fruity options. And mis-matched mugs! Who doesn't love mis-matched mugs? No. If the mis-matched mug is full of the worst coffee I have had in my life? No, thanks. It must have been burned or something? It was really bad. It even smelled bad. Add to that slow service, and I know more than one person who has said their food tasted like onions because they obviously use the same grill for everything. (And I like onions. But french toast should NOT taste like onions.)

I've been coming to Maggie's for years. It is by far the best breakfast in Kent. They always have the same friendly servers and the same awesome cook. Leading me to believe the owners take good care of the people that work for them. The food is always consistent and no matter what I've ordered it's always good. The place is has a simple diner feel but is clean unlike some of the other greasy spoons in the area. My favs: (depending on my mood) French Toast, egg sandwich with bacon, fruit plate with bran muffin, chicken fried steak!

I've always heard how good the food here was so stopped by for a late breakfast. My son and I had the chicken fried steak. Honestly had better off a roach coach. My wife had an omelette and said it was fine. So that means it wasn't the best. I loved going to the small Mom and Pop eateries and always try to support local businesses but not sure if I will be back.

Simple diner with friendly service. It has that soup kitchen feel to it, which makes it, in my opinion, comfortable. We picked a table, sat down, and had our drinks within a few minutes. I ordered the biscuits and gravy plate, which comes with hashbrowns, and I added two eggs on the side (runny yoke with cooked whites). My wife got the chicken fried steak and 2 eggs (cooked like I ordered mine). Our breakfast plates arrived and my eggs were laying ON TOP of my biscuits and gravy. Not pleased with this, but I used a toast plate to put them on. They weren't cooked as I asked. My wife's were though. Her's were perfect. My yokes weren't runny, at all. The gravy would have been great, had it not been LOADED (at least 1/2 of a cup) with chopped up turkey sausage. It was beyond over kill. I put it all aside and ended up with very little gravy. A wee bit disappointing. Still, it was tasty. The hashbrowns had zero taste. I added a little salt (I HATE adding salt to anything, unless it's during the cooking process) and some pepper. It helped, but it could have been a lot better. My wife enjoyed her chicken fried steak. But, she got the red potatoes and they also had no taste. Disappointing, once again. Say it with me, people..... potatoes NEED some flavor!!!

Visited this morning after reading the different reviews - not a bad place, but I am a pretty particular when it comes to breakfast joints, hence the 3 stars. The service was great, friendly and fast. Our order came out fast, was hot and very good - I had the chicken fried steak and my lady had the fruit waffle- although I thought it had too much whipped cream. If you dont like this place, then you are definitely a pretty hard person to please. We will return.

If you want to have a made at home quality breakfast that is too big to fit on a plate and make a huge mess and feel greasy. Have fun. I wanted more quality and proper plate to food ratio. Also they have a small menu and not the cleanest of places.

  • Carla J.

Clean and friendly (servers & restaurant). Generous portion of crispy crunchy hashbrowns that where moist & creamy on the inside. Four (4 chunks) of REAL bacon with substance (not see through) you could bite and not crumble. Three (3) eggs over easy = whites cooked and yellow nice and runny. English muffin with REAL butter! (heaven) I really enjoyed my breakfast for $7.50 an exceptional value! I can't wait to bring my tribe in on weekends...

  • Marti R.

We love that there's a "hometown breakfast joint" that's delicious! EVERYTHING is delicious ... I tried Maggie's Mess this morning, and just like my typical Veggie Omelet, I packed up half to take home for lunch! And I grabbed a bran muffin on my way out the door to go with my yogurt for tomorrow morning! Their baked goods are to DIE FOR. Oh, wait - that's what I say about their bacon! OK, so that makes at least two things that are to die for. Love you guys!

This place is much larger on the inside than it looks from the outside. I have to agree with previous reviews that the service is rather slow. Breakfast was fine, but nothing to write home about. They did have a nice fruit cup, with more variety than I'm used to seeing in one. Otherwise, it was very standard breakfast fare. I don't know if it's worth the wait, but overall it was okay.

We found this place totally by accident. This was our second visit. The hotel we are at offers free breakfast but it is AWFUL. So breakfast being the most important meal of the day we decided to go elsewhere. Driving by I noticed lots of older folks eating. Being from Florida I know they know where to find good reasonable food esp. Breakfast so we did a U turn and came in. The guy that was in there our first day was a bit of a jerk but the food looked good so we stayed. This restaurant is a diner type place with plain ole food....fine by me. I had the Maggie's scramble both days which looks a hot mess but is palate full of breakfast yummy. He had the chicken fried steak and gravy both days. I passed on the coffee the second day as it wasn't that great . The restaurant is clean and bright, the ladies that were working on our second trip were very nice and attentive. We will probably be back at least one more time before we go. Maggie's is a good breakfast spot to be sure.

First visit today. Got the Maggies Mess and a side order chicken fried steak!! So yummy! The service was amazing, very friendly and the prices are REALLY REASONABLE!! They know their patrons and are so happy that you come in and visit!! They were curious to know how we heard about them and I cannot complain about their food. The only reason I'm giving them a 4 star is that when we got there it was a little confusing about if we sat ourselves, got our own menus etc... They clarified and we are glad we went there.

This is where the DH takes the girls for breakfast on the weekends and I usually stay home and sleep. But I went today - it was totally packed and they said it would be a 40 minute wait for our food (but it was only 20). They have toys for the kids to play with and are good with kids (but oddly the only thing they have for kids on the breakfast menu is a pancake - so I paid $4.50 for 1 egg, a small serving of hasbrowns and 1 pc of toast for little one........../ I could have pd $5 for an adult breakfast............) Breakfast was good - I had the Mess, Serena had the scramble and B had the chicken fried steak so for 4 breakfasts it was $47 with drinks - not cheap but it was good. Much better than Denny's or Shari's. The owner Maggie is so nice - it's definitely not my 1st choice for breakfast but the fam loves it!

I'm having second thoughts about Maggie's upon subsequent visits. Floppy (not crispy) bacon, buttery hash browns - like not in a good way, and just OK coffee. Service is generally good and attentive though. Prices are reasonable. I have not been to Beth's on Aurora (last visit was in the 1990s - is Beth's even still around???) but this is sort of like that - a SoKingCo version with older patrons with fewer tats and piercings.

Perfect place for a weekend breakfast. Good corned beef hash and great scrambles.

  • Jamie B.

Advertised online open at 6am on Saturday. Drove there to find out they are not open till 7am. It's just your typical dinning wasteland. Low grade everything. I don't get why people think it's okay to serve this slop. Your basically killing people's health.

This place is one of my favorite breakfast joints in the south end. Very friendly service. The new corned beef hash is one of the best that I've had. I find myself craving it every once in awhile.

Okay, it's a coffee shop, folks. Nothing haute. No nouvelle. It's not cuisine, it's grub. There's also nothing fancy about the atmosphere -- vinyl booths, Formica tables and floors. Coffee cups are just a crazy assortment of mismatched mugs that might have come from the Goodwill. People bring their kids, the waitresses know the regulars, and the Rotarians meet in the back room. This is the land of beef dip and potato salad, and if that's not what you want, move along. Within those parameters, though, Maggie's does good food. If I'm having breakfast I go for an English muffin sandwich with bacon, and a fruit plate. The selection of fruit on the fruit plate is amazing, and generally includes three kinds of fresh berries. When I'm In a lunch mood, I'll have the burger dip with fries, or one of the new quiches they recently added to the menu. All tasty.

Our favorite breakfast joint. Amazing. They make their own cookies, too! I've never once been disappointed in anything I've ordered here, and my boyfriend hasn't either. Just amazing. Huge portions, delicious food. Love Maggie's. Love it.

We were craving breakfast food even though it was after noon. The Lakeside Cafe has been closed now for awhile (boo!), and we'd always wanted to try the Wild Wheat Cafe in Kent. So down we drove, were seated, and found that breakfast was no longer being served! Since I'd read that Maggie's does, I suggested we take that short walk and go right in. Boy, were we glad we did! While they don't serve espresso, the coffee's good and black! Nice and strong, the way we like it! And, on the weekends, they serve quiche and Belgian waffles covered with strawberries, raspberries, banana, and blueberries as well as whipped cream! We each got a different quiche: the Porker (all meat), the Guido (with Italian sausage and spices), and a new spinach, mushroom, and goat cheese. All mouth-wateringly delicious. I loved the goat cheese quiche which amazingly suspended goat cheese within the egg filling (not just at the bottom). The quiches come with a big fruit cup, besides (besides the waffle fruits, some pineapple, orange, and grapes). Both companions loved the fruit cup as well. And the waffle! My husband normally won't eat fruit and whipped cream on the waffles I make at home, but he happily devoured this one - without any drizzle of syrup added! Both Ma and I had to have (generous) samples, and we also raved at how sweet the fruit was. This place looks pretty divey from the outside. Just a regular diner with the cheap tables and chairs. We sat at the lone booth, located at the window, which does have tears which have been repaired with duct tape - which is still a bit sticky. Our waitress, who happened to be the manager, was extremely friendly and sat down to talk to us for a little while. (We and only a few other customers were there.) We felt extremely welcomed and valued, even though we were first time customers. That being said, apparently earlier in the day, there were long lines waiting to sit down - and we needed to ask for more sugar and cream, more coffee, and for an extra plate in order to share the waffle. So I wonder how long it would have taken to get these things with a huge crowd in there. We are going next Sunday, though. We still need to try the homemade cinnamon rolls! Oh, and for people with kids - there are books and toys available.

Came here this morning since my dad was in town and he likes to go out to breakfast. Food was ok, none of the eggs were cooked properly and nothing was seasoned at all. Bacon was crispy and the gravy was good. Hashbrowns cooked perfectly. Coffee wasn't bad. I would probably go back if someone else wanted to go out to breakfast but wouldn't make this a normal stop.

I've been here a few times for a lazy Saturday breakfast. Service is always friendly and the menu is a no-thrills home-cooked breakfast. Love the chicken-fried steak. Other than that, nothing incredibly special.

  • Katie R.

Maggie's is not fancy and the food is simple--and that's what I love about it. I typically order 2 eggs, hashbrowns, and toast. Every time I have been in, my food has been cooked perfectly. The service is great--everyone is smiling and friendly. The restaurant itself feels like home--your coffee mug won't match your neighbor's coffee mug and there's a good chance it will feature something cheesy from the 80s. I think I had an ALF mug here once. Overall, I recommend Maggie's; it feels suspiciously like eating in my mom's kitchen and that's a good thing.

Great chicken fried steak and eggs. Good meal for under $12, great value. Would have preferred some fresh made salsa but this was the only low point. I'll be back to try the corned beef hash.

  • Christina L.

This place was not what we expected based on the reviews. It was small, loud, and dingy. I ordered a mushroom, bacon, and swiss omelet, only to get burnt bacon, and processed swiss cheese slices!! Can you say GROSS! If I would have known it wasnt real cheese I never would have ordered it. The hashbrowns were greasy and undercooked, just not a good meal at all. I dont even remember what my fiancee ordered but he was unimpressed as well. We both left wishing we had not wasted our time or money, and went home to use the restroom.

I just love their food! we come here for breakfast sometimes on the weekend. Their staff is always friendly and the food is always very good and very affordable. I can only think of 2 things that would make it better: 1) if they would get a liquor license and could serve bloody marys and mimosas with breakfast, and 2) jazz up the decor a bit.

  • Bev L.

We're die-hard Wild Wheat fans- like once or twice a week for breakfast, but sometimes it is possible to have too much of a good thing- so, we decided to give Maggie's a try. This is the type of place your parents and grandparents love! Home-style diner type of food. Can't say much for the ambiance (there isn't any), but the food is good and the portions are just right. You can tell this place has a regular following. Most of the other customers were greeted by name. I don't know that we'll ever become regulars but it was a nice breakfast regardless.

Walking in to Maggie's on Meeker is like walking through a time warp, but in a good way. It's a skinny narrow space, lit above from commercial fluorescent lights. The heads of the patrons are almost uniformly grey or white. I'm in my mid-40s, but I felt like the youngest person there. Or I would if it wasn't for the wait staff. While they're mostly of the older, "Hello, honey," generation, there's also clearly a younger contingent, fresh out of high school. Which gets to the roots of why I have a soft spot for this place. One of the things I've noticed over the course of my life is how America seems to be segregating itself on the basis of age. I realize I'll sound old and cranky just by saying it, but when I was a kid (yikes!) it really seemed like you'd see a much broader mix in most public spaces, most of the time. So what those younger servers at Maggie's remind me of is just how friendly the place seems, and how there's a family feeling -- and you're a member. All you have to do is show up. There's no doubt why the senior set comes here. This is older breakfast cooking, of the diner / roadhouse / breakfast counter variety. And the prices are very reasonable -- usually under $10/person/meal, tax and tip included. That said, they're happy to the point of cheerfulness if you need to substitute eggbeaters, or if you want your toast dry. They've heard it before, and mostly they want you to be comfortable. If the place is crowded -- and it usually is -- and you show up by yourself, you may well be asked to share a table with another singleton. If you play your cards right, this'll be the chance to get into a conversation that's engaging and informative. So maybe that's the bottom line: Old homey food that's the very opposite of "bowling alone."

  • Jenna D.

My dad and I like to stop in here every once in a while. They are pretty quick and the employees are nice. The proportions are decent. The food tastes good. The prices are higher than some similar places, but still decent. I have usually order omelets or sandwiches, and have never had a complaint about the food. The hours suck though.

  • Lisa R.

I'm so sad that I can't like this place more, because I was really hoping that it would be good, especially considering the other reviews. The atmosphere is definitely unassuming which I liked. However, the food just didn't do it for me. I don't like fancy breakfast food but that said, I guess I expected better. We left thinking that we could've gotten the same quality food at Shari's or Denny's. The service is great but the food was just ok. Maybe it was just an off day for the cooks? Sad!

  • Veronica S.

So I've been to this place a few times for meetings but today I had the food here for the first time. Breakfast food. It was lame. The waffle was cold. Bacon was overcooked. Eggs were cold as well. Not to mention that the batter used to cook the waffles was just blah. The place looks like it could use a good cleaning. Really dingy. The staff is nice though. Prices are a bit laughable. $1.75 for a can of soda?!?!?! I'd say go to IHOP instead. Not a good spot at all.

    (2)
  • Aaron C.

After eating breakfast here a handful of times, my one word review is: SLOW. The food is alright....on the level of Denny's or Shari's, and the prices are good, but if you go on a Saturday or Sunday morning be prepared to wait until lunch time for your breakfast.

  • Dana N.

I used to always go to Maggie's for breakfast, but I've become a fan of their lunches too. A friend and I took her two-year old daughter to Maggie's last Friday and it was the ideal place. Maggie's had great toys and coloring books to keep our little guest busy while we waited for our food, and the waitress and hostess were so friendly and helpful. Of course, as always, the food was delicious. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and my friends ordered breakfast platters. For under $25, we had the nicest meal in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. I'd recommend it to other families!

  • Bill N.

I have been here several times for breakfast and have never had a bad experience. I usually get the scramble or Maggie's mess and end up satisfied. This time I chose a fresh fruit waffle. I was hoping for blackberries (because it is blackberry season) but had to settle for raspberries. I thought raspberry season was over but they were fresh and really good and so was the over the top whipped cream. Everyone else had good meals as well although Jess complained about too many onions in this scramble. It looked just right for me but I am always blamed for cooking with too many onions. Overall, this place is a diner but they do a lot of stuff you won't see at the regular diners and chains.

  • G W.

I love this place. The bacon is what you go for and everything else is good too. I've tried most of the breakfast menu, and it's all great. Good iced tea too which is something I always look for in a cafe.

  • Lyndsay F.

I absolutely love this place, and I live in Tacoma! We drive up here on a regular basis not only for the food, but the great atmosphere. This isn't fancy food, this is good home cookin done right. Everyone is always really sweet, the service is so great, when they are busy and you have to wait a little longer for your food you just don't mind. My favorite is the fresh fruit waffles, or as I like to call them "cocaine waffles." If you think about it, it's hard to improve upon the basic waffle, Maggies has achieved that!

After giving this place 3 tries, I won't be back. The place is filthy, the wait once you order is ridiculously long, it is horribly over-priced and the food is just not good.

My wife and I were passing through the area on vacation and we wanted a local place for breakfast. This place is all about local feel. My wife had maggie's mess and I went with a traditional eggs and sausage. The meals were good and the staff really makes the experience worthwhile. We will be coming back to this place for sure.

We've been regulars for a couple years now and have decided to not return to Maggies again. The staff is always friendly and wonderful, the restaurant is always packed on weekends, but the service is awefully slow and the food doesn't taste as good as it used to. We left today with sour stomachs and won't be back.

You know what? I don't have a single negative thing to say about Maggie's. Absolutely delicious, home-style food, for very reasonable prices, served by extremely friendly and helpful people. This place is a gem!

Ahh Maggie's. I have been going to this diner since I moved into the neighborhood. You usually see the owner Sue working the tables with the other ladies. She is one of the nicest hard working people I have ever met. She was once a loyal customer of mine and now I am her loyal customer. The food is the basics with some fun things thrown in like the Maggie's Mess or Maggie's Scrambler... A hash of sorts with tasty treats thrown in. I am a big fan of their bran muffins and fruit plates. If it is crowded you may be asked to share a table with a fellow patron, what's not better then good conversation with strangers and breakfast that takes you back to mom's kitchen. Maggie's on Meeker used to be called MOM's but when Sues partner sold her half of the business to Sue they had to change the name. MOM's was such a staple in Kent and they didn't want that lost so Sue named it Maggie's after her dog, then on Meeker because.. well it is on Meeker... the letter still stand for MOM's. This place isn't anything fancy but it is real. The people are real as is the food. It is the watering hole for downtown Kent.

Maggies is wonder good service and great food went there after getting burnt hashbrowns at SARAS COFFEE shop and the place is 100 times better. SARAS Coffee shop at first did not offer to replace my hashbrowns and even passed my plate around to get opinions from other customers and then finally said I could have more hashbrown and I declined because eggs etc were cold then told me to pay for hashbrowns are she was gonna call the cops.Do not eat at saras eat at maggies.

I've been here twice for breakfast and would highly recommend this place. The staff are super-firendly and very effecient. When I asked for de-caff, they quickly brewed up a fresh pot and kept it coming! The next day when I went in, they remembered my order and again, brewed up some fresh decaf. The food is always hot and fresh and the prices are very reasonable. Again, one of the best things are the super-friendly lady servers. Do try their home-made muffins, still warm and fresh from the oven! Haven't tried their lunch yet but plan to next time. Stay tuned......!

After living in Kent for two years, it's nice to finally find Maggie's. The people are so nice. When I called to ask for directions, they were patient and even offered to come out and wave if I needed them to. Definitely an old-timer's hang out. Maggie's has the feel of a Grange or Community Hall pancake breakfast - good food, super nice people in a casual but welcoming environment.

Every single day, I drive on by and I always want to stop in. Breakfast is the best and only meal worth it for the day. I mean, seriously, you can't get better than breakfast. Saturday, my girlfriend and I decided we'd enjoy the day leisurely with breakfast. I got a Maggie's Mess and she got their specialty belgian waffle with ALL 4 FRUITS available. The coffee was spot on, and she got her orange juice with ice in her glass just as she likes it. The mess was well cooked hashbrowns with sausage and gravy on top. Unlike other hashbrowns, they weren't greasy but perfectly browned and crispy around the edges. The gravy wasn't super thick or thin, but the right consistency. Her waffle was brown and crispy, with fresh fruit beautifully arranged on top with rings of fresh homemade whipped cream (just heavy whipping cream and vanilla!). Perfectly seasoned throughout, great portions, and good prices. I'm glad we finally stopped in. Definitely a place to keep coming back to!

We were looking for a good breakfast and we remember that a friend from church suggested Maggie's on Meeker in Kent, so we decided to give it a shoot, our experience there was really a good time, Michelle was a good waitress, all the service was good and fun, Michelle have corny jokes but most of all the food was good, large portions and home made Corn Beef Hash was probably the best in the Seattle area. Michelle was a Seahawks fan and we are not but she still said go Saints!!! awesome time. The End.

Excellent traditional diner offering good ol' Americana food. Friendly service. Food is made to order. Hashbrowns cooked per your preference. I asked them to make mine extra crispy. Since I wasn't too hungry for a breakfast priced at $8.95, I just ordered their sides. One egg and one hashbrown totaled $3.39 with tax!! Gotta love it! I still tip 40% bc their workers don't make much in wages or tips.

The place is old fashioned, old timey. It's like walkin into auntie or granny's kitchen. You seat yourself and they come serve you. My bf and I came by one day for brunch. I got a coffee, and a Maggie's scramble with an English muffin. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy. The coffee was just like coffee you'd make at home.. Before keurigs and verismos. I'd skip it next time and just hit up the bux or kona coffee down the street. I was not impressed with the scramble at all. It had mushrooms, eggs, tomatos, diced ham, onions, potatoes, cheese.... It was HUGE. The English muffin (your choice of bread/toast) was already slathered in butter. It was honestly something I could make at home, and more fit to my liking. The biscuits and gravy is butter town! The sausage and gravy were pretty good, and the biscuit was tasty but super buttery. The whole thing was what I'd expect but it was overwhelming with how thick, mushy, and buttery it was. The best part about this place is their service. The waitresses are so kind and friendly. One of them kept cracking jokes and playing around, and she asked us how we were doing and what we do in school like she genuinely cared! They make you feel good and they treat you like family. No wonder they get so many regulars! TLDR: The food is unimpressive; two stars. They have HUGE portions which is nice. The service is amazing and that's what the third star is for. I would love to come back because of their service but the food makes me stray.

It's not phenomenal, but it'll get the job done if you want a breakfast joint in Kent. I've had Maggie's Mess & Maggie's Scramble. They're both mediocre, but huge portions. The customer service is decent. Sometimes it takes longer than usual. If you're not a regular they don't get to you as quickly, especially if a regular comes in after you do. It's convienent & fills you up with leftovers to take with you. Since its really the only place to go for breakfast, I'll keep coming back. It's not terrible, just not amazing either.

Maggie, Your food wasn't all that good to me. Your Chicken Fried Steak was bland. Maybe you can do better next time, if I come again. Your hash browns were flavorless. But your quiche looked good and I cannot dismiss. Your homemade corned beef hash was salty like your server said. It tasted ok and I'll take that over your canned version any day my friend. Your wheat toast was the only thing that was done perfect. But and then I didn't come for that, I wanted a good full meal to make sure my shirt won't fit. Your restrooms need more stalls. Or else you'll make people wait, all the way to the hall. I do hope you improve. Because I'll still come back for that quiche watching you get back your groove!

I had heard great things about this place and was surprised that when Biscuits and Gravy arrived, it was a microwaved sausage patties cut up and then put into gravy. CHEWY! I also ordered eggs to go with it and had to send them back twice :( I do not think I will give this place another chance. The server was more than friendly and very nice.

Mmmm, I love breakfast! A few of my faves are: belgium waffle w/ fresh fruits of your choice and homemade whip cream + chicken fried steak and gravy + any of the quiches. Cons- I did feel a little awkward when walking into the restaurant and everyone turned to look. Maybe it's because it's in dt kent and their diversity isn't that great? Oh well.

I've lived in Kent for 1.5 years, but had never made it to Maggie's until today. I've been missing out!! We arrived around 10:15am and easily found a table in the back. Our waitress super friendly, funny, and provided just the right amount of attentiveness. I had two scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, hash browns, and an English muffin with jam. The sausage patty was sooo good and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The hash browns had a crispy top, but were a bit too soft and mushy in the middle. They were still tasty with some salt and pepper though. The muffin was great. I also had a glass of apple juice. My boyfriend had the chorizo omelette, which I stole a bite (or three) of. It was HUGE and super good. His daughter had the same meal as me, but with bacon instead of sausage. The bacon was plentiful and extra crispy. Prices were good for standard breakfast fare. We will definitely be back again!! :)

Just visiting was close to our hotel seems like a local spot. Super cute and friendly. We ordered the quiche special and it was delicious.

Was hungry for breakfast so stopped by Maggies. The place was about 1/3 filled so I just grabbed a seat and was quickly waited on. I ordered coffee, "He Man" three eggs, 1/2 sausage patty, 1/2 ham steak, two bacon strips and a single French Toast. They actually served me a full sausage patty when it arrived. The portion is large and was good. The scramble eggs were over cooked so it was dry. French toast was disappointing because it was cold. My toast that came with He Man was warmer than the French toast and I only put a little of the syrup on the French toast. I would try this place again and will order something different next time. This place was free WiFi, street parking, and quite large.

I wouldn't say they are the best, but they are not bad either. Good neighbor hood comfort food.

I absolutely LOVE Maggie's! They have become a staple breakfast/brunch place for me on the weekends! Their food is really good (I strongly recommend the Maggie's Scramble...it's a lot of food, but really good!), I love the community atmosphere inside and most of all I love how friendly everyone is! Their service is quick, they check on you and make sure you are enjoying your meal and overall they are just SO incredibly kind! I have no complaints! I'm glad to have a great community breakfast spot like this in Kent!!

They were really busy this morning. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated but the staff was friendly and they moved quickly to clear tables. The place is much bigger than it looks from the outside. The menu offers the usual breakfast fair plus a list of daily quiches. They serve big portions but the food was just ok. My coffee cup was kept full but like the food, it was just ok. We smelled like grease for hours after we left.

Great chicken fried steak! Good sized portions and quick service. Old school breakfast diner style food. Good pie too- but get it before they sell out!!

We just got some quiche and a breakfast sandwich togo. Usually on point but this time the quiche wasn't even warmed up. I mean straight cold, who eats it like that??? The bacon breakfast sandwich had bacon half cooked. Hella rubbery and just not good. So I decided to call them and tell them, I got a sorry and that's it. no nothing about we will take care of you next time or anything. We were on our way out of the area and couldn't drive all the way back for them to fix their mess up. At the end of the conversation it was ok sorry bye....I'm telling you know if your a lil darker than a tanned italian, don't expect much!! This isn't the first time being dealt badly by them. It is the last though. Unprofessional, they been around for what 40-50 years, they need to look around a little harder. Times have changed. That is all

I like this place. Local, and same faces everyday. Food is fine, and you can get in and out quick. Local hole in the wall places like this are getting rare.

We didn't even get to try the supposed amazing food here, but it's still getting 1 star for the short amount of time we spent in this facility. My girls and I were looking for a local mom & pops type of diner before we headed off to do some dress fittings for my wedding. We were hyped up, excited, and happy. I had read about Maggie's and wanted to really explore Kent's offerings for food. We knew we'd have to wait, it was a summer Saturday morning. We walked in and it was almost like the entire restaurant stopped eating and looked up to stare at us. Even the wait staff, who were juggling several dishes had time to stop and stare. Awkward moment. We quickly realized that this was an older crowd, but young people eat breakfast too! Ok so it was kind of like we stepped into the 1960s, and we were dressed like today's mid-20 year olds who shop at UO. Is that something worth stopping to stare at? Mid-bite? Smh. So after what felt like a century but was probably in reality about 4 long minutes of standing there without a single greeting, one of my friends had enough and had to leave. We followed, and no one apologized, or said anything. One last glance before leaving I did notice that there were a few open tables. Staffing issues? Refusal to serve to patrons of a particular image? Bad day? Either way - the pictures of the food don't look like we're missing out on much.

Been here twice , and got country fried steak twice. I wasn't sure if they seat me or If I should seat myself. But soon after arriving a server showed me to my seat. It has a very relaxing feel to it. They took our order and surprisingly got the food out extremely quick even with the place packed. The food is delicious and comes in a good amount which was worth every penny.

Let's be honest... The food is nothing amazing. Decent food. Pretty pricey. 11 for a fruit waffle. 5 dollars for a side of bacon. Pretty disappointed in they pancake. Maybe a little over cooked which made the pancake not light and fluffy. This place had a great location and huge space. They have a lot of potential. If it was only based off of the food I would have given 2 stars. The service is amazing. The girls here are so friendly! They have plenty of staff on and that helps a lot for a fast pace restaurant. If only they could handle the food a little better this place would be my regular go to! I'm sure I'll be back to give it a second chance.

I wish I could give this place more stars, but after my experience today, I dont think I will be back again. This is more of the service review than the food. I do like the food there, just your run of the mill diner type food. Today I went in at 12:21 pm and order a cheeseburger and fries, and a side salad to go. I was told it would probably be 15 mins due to the fact they were pretty busy. No problem I didnt have to be back to work until 1 pm. So that would give me enough time to go back to work and eat before my next appointment arrived. 12:36 comes around, no food. I figured they were running a little behind, no big deal, I would still be able to eat before my appointment. 12:46, no food, and a couple who came in after me and was dining in, recieved their food. Oook, 12:53 my food isnt there, and another couple who ordered after me got their food. I went up to the cashier, the same one that took my order. And guess what, my food was sitting behind the counter. I dont know how long it sat there, but she said sorry its busy. I opened it up to see if it was even warm still, and it wasnt, luke warm at best and it was wrong. She was just going to give it to me like that? I mentioned it to her and her response was, so do you want a refund then? I said yes because no I have no time to eat it, it was wrong, as well as not even warm anymore. This is very dissappointing :(

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place for breakfast after church! The BEST breakfast we have had in years. Such a cute casual old time breakfast place, nothing fancy, so you can wear what you wish and never feel out of place. The food is outstanding and is top notch yummy! So much better than those high class expensive places for sure! I think we are "regulars" now ;)

Came here on a busy Sunday morning. I get that when a restaraunt is busy service will be slow. However, a 45 minute wait for the food after we ordered is beyond slow. When the food did arrive they forgot we had meals for the kids and had to go back to get it. The eggs were undercooked and when we sne them back, came back brown. Over medium really isn't that hard. The toast was barely toasted, cold and loaded with butter, the French toast both burnt and cold and it says something when a kid won't even eat a pancake. Their fix for this? Taking off the price of my coffee and hot chocolate...the only thing worth having. In fact the only reason I'm giving a star is because they gave me my own carafe of coffee. Needless to say we won't be going there again. But hey if you like poor service and brown eggs, great place.

My boyfriend is a HUGE fan of anything and everything breakfast. After searching for a new place to try on a Sunday morning, we decided on Maggie's - and so glad that we did! The place was packed, but we didn't have to wait for a table since it's huge inside and plenty of seating. The food was delicious! I ordered the mexican style omelet (can't remember the exact name) and he ordered biscuits and gravy. Both were fabulous. The portions are huge and the prices are so very reasonable for what you get. This place feels like you are in your grandma's kitchen. All of the coffee cups are mismatched, the tables are old and everyone working there looks like they could be related. Great little mom & pop place. A must try!

I really wish I could review the food. Unfortunately after waiting for 30 minutes with a menu in our hands we simply walked out the door. The place is nice and clean but the owners apparently refuse to staff the place. There was one waiter for about 20-30 tables. Unacceptable. It is impossible for him to give quality service to anyone. Especially when the regulars are a chatty bunch that want to give him their life story every time he comes by their table. The photo's all look really good though, wish we could have tried the food. Hopefully the owners see this and realize if you want a quality establishment you have to actually hire employees to run it for you. They have such great reviews I sort of want to come back but don't want to waste another hour of my life with nothing to show for it.

The Maggie's ascramble was good, but nothing to write home about. I was most disappointed in the fact that they put a heaping glob of margarine on top of my pancakes. Margarine. What restaurant doesn't use butter? By the time it hit the table, my pankake was covered in trans-fatty goodness. Service was friendly, but slow and a bit frantic. They were pretty busy for a weekday morning and appeared understaffed. Doubt I would make a trip back.

Best place for lunch in Kent! The food and service is always great and everyone makes you feel like family. It gets rather busy on the weekends but weekday lunch is quick and tasty.

I love Maggies. Love it. Being from Kent and living in Seattle, makes me appreciate it even more. The breakfast is always fresh, delicious and large portions (enough for two meals). The corned beef hash is my favorite, I like to order it extra crispy and it is always perfect. Their lunch menu is just as great. And to top it off, the prices cannot be beat! Plus the staff is amazing, you feel right at home.

Great service and local, ma and pa's vibe. Coffee was good and refilled often. I had a hamburger patty with eggs and French toast. The patty and eggs were good, the French toast was ok also.

Amazing Quiche on the weekend! The chef specializes in quiche and they do sell out of some flavors. Definitely worth the trip. Friendly staff. Dated decor, coffee not great, but good food.

It's local diner found on Meeker. Me and my boyfriend rarely eat breakfast but when we do we try to look for that local family diner. We got seated right away and the this diner is actually big in the inside. They offered refreshments right away. The food was really good, I usually don't eat that much but I actually finished my plate. They have big servings and the food was really really good! I will surely be back at this diner with my whole family!

Right downtown with angle in parking. An unassuming exterior. There is plenty of seating inside, not the prettiest decor, I would call it somewhere between mom's kitchen and early modern hoarder. That aside it is very clean and welcoming. Pop in grab a seat and you are welcomed by friendly staff with a menu and an offer of some very good coffee. I ordered the special corn beef hash this was not canned hash and was wonderful. Tasty home fry style potatoes, chunks of corned beef. I opted for poached eggs but you can have any style. My wife ordered the omlette, it was very fluffy and done on the dry side, which she loves. We took quiche home with us for lunch, "The Porker", sausage and cheese, soo good. The check came promptly and we paid at the register with a smile in return. We will make this a regular stop for weekend breakfast.

This restaurant gets pretty crowded, especially on the weekend. Each time we've gone we've had to wait a while before someone came to take our order but it just gave us more time to peruse the menu. I love that they have some toys out for my toddler to play with (read: keep busy and not drive us crazy for 2 minutes). I guess my complaints are that it's more expensive than I expected for a small local restaurant and that their cinnamon rolls aren't that good (at least the one I got last time, it was so dry).

My favorite weekend brunch. The quiches are generously portioned and as tall as a cake. Their selection varies week by week. My other favorite is the fruit waffle, which is a mountain of fruit crowned with whipped cream. Their pancakes are large so if I'm not hungry I order the kid's cake which comes with fruit. The service, especially with Richard or Tracy, is unbeatable.

GREAT breakfast! And they make their chips from scratch! If I'm in the area again I'll definately have to check them out again. :-D
