Great service and fun food. Nice local joint. Why can't Tri cities have more local joints??

The food is amazing. Great restaurant with wonderful creative and tasty ways to jazz up an old favorite. I would be a regular if didn't live in Oklahoma.

Affordable, hot, tasty, manna from dawg heaven. Loved this place. Tot, or fries! Yes!!!

So glad that I decided to eat lunch here on my trip. Had the downtown dog - a-mazing! Also split a mac daddy dog and a corndog. I enjoyed the downtown dog the best. My co-worker had the Chicago dog and he liked it the best. Staff was very friendly and Dogs were huge - we actually had way too much food, but it was worth it! Would eat here again!

Stopped here to try, mainly due to the good reviews. Big mistake! The food is simply below average. Pretty hard to mess up a hot dog, but this place managed to do it. I think all the ingredients on the dog were out of a can. Bun was warmed up in the microwave. The Mac & Cheese had over, over cooked pasta & yukky cheese. The food looked nothing like the pictures you see on yelp. Very unappetizing! Not recommended!!

Yummy! We took four adults and three kids and everyone was happy! Great menu, quality dogs and buns, and great price. We just moved to the area and will be coming back for more!

Nailed it. My husband and I both got variations of the Tri-City Special, I got mine with sauerkraut, and he got his with a corn dog instead of a hotdog (yeah, that's a thing). I can't think of a single thing I would have changed about our meal, we'll be back soon to fill up our punch card. Also, as a plus, the staff was awesome. This restaurant is the definition of winning.

  • Henry D.

Simple, cheap and delicious. Their Tri-cities special is even better than the capital hill hotdogs back home in Seattle!

    (5)
  • Lisa M.

Fellow Yelpers led me to this great hot dog place! Portions are huge so despite prices of $3.50-$6.50 per dog you're getting a deal. Tried the Tri-City Special, MacDaddy Dawg, and Loaded Tots recommended by the super friendly staff and all three were winners. Will def stop in again and most def recommend to anyone in the area.

I decided to try this restaurant out as a result of the many excellent reviews on Yelp. This location certainly lived up to its reputation. I had an Italian Feast along with a small order of their loaded tots. Amazing is not a word that I throw around a whole lot. This place was exactly that. Next on my list of items to try: Their Island Dog, McDaddy Dog and their fresh-dipped corn dogs. I am so glad that I found this place. As it is only a block and a half from work, I will be back many of times in the near future! Amazing!

  • Doug M.

One of THE ABSOLUTE BEST places in the Tri Cities. Fantastic food, great selection of hot dog meals/combinations/recipes, and wonderful service every time I've been in. Everyone always smiles and is very helpful; it's a really fun place. Plus, they serve beer! Doesn't get much better than that.

  • DanandShelley T.

Any kind of hot dog you could possibly want, served by some of the friendliest folks in town. This would totally be a five star review were it not for the congested and cramped location. I hope that this business continues to succeed and moves to a bigger store!

  • Todd T.

Amazing! Wife and I had lunch here yesterday and both of us loved it! They offer a great variety of menu options. The dogs are huge and taste amazing and the service is just as great. We are visiting from Seattle and we usually go to a hot dog place called Po Dog and I thought they were amazing till we ate at Between the Buns. At Po Dog your gonna pay at least $7-$8 for one hot dog and at Between the Buns their pricing is much better around $4-$6 for a huge hot dog. So every time we visit the tri-cities definitely gonna have to stop at Between the Buns!!

  • Kelly C.

Always a great deal, cheap, fresh and delish

  • Eileen W.

The ONLY real dawgs in town. Service is always friendly, even when they are very busy, busy, busy, which is often at lunchtime. That just means that they have their act together. Finally earned my T-Shirt!. There are about a dozen different styles of dawgs to eat toward completing a punch card. I have about four to go, and then I get a man's t-shirt.

Found this place on Yelp. So glad we did. Would drive out of our way to go here again. Super friendly staff, clean, and great food! It's a Coke place too! Cream cheese on a hotdog? Who would have thought? YUM!!! We've had a few hotdog only joints try and fail here in Bend, OR. It appears as if this place has a loyal following and is in a rent-freindly location. Combined with the great service and delicious food, I think they'll be around for awhile. We'll be back. Might be another year or so, but we'll be sure and plan for lunch here again.

  • Cory B.

My new favorite place to eat! Options are limitless, price is amazing, quality is amazing, and taste is unreal! This is how cool this place is: a worker opened a fridge door knocking them self out (well, it was ugly, let's just say that). It was super busy and the staff was now short handed. They just worked twice as hard, was just as pleasant, and made just as awesome product as if we were the only customers! I am coming here every time I'm in the tri-cities and I'm not lying. I just think they need better signage to make it easier to find and you will have a new HUGE franchise.

  • Don J.

What an awesome selection of dogs and wieners. The Tri-city dog with its Riders spicy German sausage and the caramelized onions and a bit of BBQ sauce is so good. Very reasonably priced. This was my 1st visit, don't know how I've missed this the past few years.

    (5)
  • Brad K.

This place has great hotdogs with both classic and eclectic toppings like mac and cheese. The prices were fair and the service was fast and friendly.

  • Steve P.

Very good I have the pizza dog and my wife had Mac daddy dog. Good people good food. The only down side is they were so big and full u had to use a fork could not just pick it up..... Oh wait that's good too...:-) we will be back

  • Jonathan G.

What a great yelp find. Great service, great food. Friendly folks. I'm not normally a hot dog fan but this place won us over.y wife had hers New York style. I just had a bacon wrapped beef dog. Excellent! Even the sides were great. Crispy fries and tots.

    (5)
  • Shannon B.

Was an awesome unique meal. I normally think paying any more than $2 for a hotdog is ridiculous but we ate a family of 3 for $20 and couldn't finish everything. Be adventurous and try something different. We had three different dogs and each was amazing!

    (5)
  • Michelle A.

I do not know why people rate this restaurant highly. It was not good at all. The hot dog meat itself was okay but everything else on the dog was processed junk. Cheese was from a package, chili from a can, sauerkraut was canned, even the buns were microwaved instead of grilled or baked crisp. Waitress told us that coleslaw was homemade and then told us that the canned dressing had gone bad so she was unable to serve it. Cabbage was from a package. If this is what passes for good food, I do not eat.

    (1)
  • Justin B.

What is there to say? It's a hot dog place, and the only one of its kind anywhere in Tri-Cities. Owners are very friendly, and their employees like to have a good time. Good food, good prices. Hope this place sticks around.

    (4)
  • Marcus H.

Deserves a good rating because of good service. I'm not a big fan of hot dogs, but I still had a good experience here.

    (4)
  • Katie C.

Tried a hot dog :) Addicted! yummy!

    (5)
  • Erin H.

The best Chicago dog I have ever had. Yes. Even better than the real Chicago dogs I have had in Chicago. And the service was great. Friendly and outgoing. We will be back!!!

  • Michelle E.

We took my husband's 87yo grandfather here for lunch. It was delicious! At the table we had the Coney Island Dog, The Southern Slaw Dog, & the Mac daddy. Everyone was pleased with their order. The staff was super courteous and brought us drink refills despite the fact that it was crazy busy on a friday noon lunch rush. We will definitely be going again when we are in that part of Kennewick. They should consider a Richland location. (:

    (4)
  • Morgan H.

My husband hates hot dogs and loved it here. We have tried tri city american, chicken bacon ranch and mac daddy and they all were amazing!

    (5)
  • Jim W.

This is a great eatery that serves hot dogs, sausages, corn dogs....you name it! Their fries are crunchy and delicious, and their service is top-notch. Great place for a quick and refreshing lunch. I just wish they'd open a branch in Richland---I would probably eat there everyday and become a zeppelin. Try it out-you'll like "Between the Buns".

    (4)
  • Dana M.

Fantastic food! If it can be put on or in a hotdog, you can get it here. I have tried both the Coney Dog and Hand Dipped Corndog. Both were fantastic. A little bit of a bummer hat y can't get onion rings too... The service is great as well. The only drawbacks are location and the dining are is way too small.

  • Jonna C.

Finally got here for the first time the other day- a little behind the curve, I know. I was curious to see if a hot dog place is worth the hype and I am pleased to report, I thought it was. Between my family and I, we tried the Mac Daddy (a delicious bacon-wrapped beef dog topped with mac and cheese and crumbled bacon), the Tri-Cities Special (I'm pretty sure that was the name...the one with the spicy sausage, cream cheese, sauteed onions and BBQ sauce), a regular kids hot dog and a hand dipped corn dog. All were delicious and unique- very different flavors between them. I was really impressed with the imaginative flavors and toppings they had concocted. Clearly a lot of love and thought has gone into this place. Oh, and thanks for having fruit options for the kids meals also!! Great service and value. Fun place. Great job Between the Buns!

Very nice people! Always good food, and the loaded fries are fantastic! Very busy during the lunch hour.

  • Shari F.

We finally got a chance to check this place out. It was very busy, yet the staff was very friendly under pressure. I got the Rider's sausage with onions, cream cheese and bacon, I can't remember its name, but it was delicious. My husband got the same, only made into a corndog. Very interesting twist, but I'm still a fan of a good ole corn dog with mustard! We will definitely be back, now that we got a punch card to fill! This place is a treat!

    (5)
  • Mike S.

Really busy today! Still was greeted by the Boss man when we walked in. Pretty quick service and great food.

    (4)
  • Josh M.

Absolutely love between the buns. Me and a few guys from work come hear at least every other week and chow down! There is something for everyone, from a GOOD Basic dog to one with peanut butter on it. Definitely a must in Kennewick!!

    (5)
  • Teresa S.

Good dogs. Have been here a few times. I would give 3.5. Not four or higher cause staff is never overly pleasant unless you get the owner.

    (3)
  • Chandra S.

I love hotdogs and mac and cheese....so the macdaddy was perfect. I just couldn't eat it all...HUGE serving...great customer service.

  • David M.

I am working my way through their t-shirt promotion. I have tried all but 4 of their hotdogs, and while I could describe their food (all are good, several are mindblowing, the waddi-DOG is actually a must try, and their Chicago dogs are great) I want to discuss their service. I posit that Between the Buns has the best, most consistent service in the entire Tri-Cities. Often upscale restaurants are hit and miss, and other establishments consistently don't care. But Between the Buns staff are always professional, always friendly, and always seem to genuinely care how the meal went. Go for the hot dogs, go again for the best service in the Tri-Cities.

  • Elton M.

Just had lunch here.had the chili cheese sausage...great dog!! Tater tots were a little over done but still edible.prices a little high but worth it.definitly a place to go back to.too bad theyre not open on sundays

  • Rod F.

A must go in Kennewick. The place was full. This is the third time I visited this restaurant. Most of the people in there looked like return customers. I'd like to order something different but I just can't imagine anything better than their three cheese dog. It is fantastic and I'm sure I'll be back again.

It is nice to have found this hot dog joint in the Tri Cities. Have eaten here a couple of times and it has always been good. Staff is super friendly and there is always a happy casual vibe going here. I usually get the Chicago dog since I am from the Midwest. I like that their fries are just a normal perfectly executed crinkle cut. No breading, seasoning or anything else to confuse the beauty of a simple fried potato. I am going to be brave on my next visit and attempt one of those dogs with the cream cheese. I just can't imagine it so I guess I ought to try it.

  • Kim S.

My Husband and I have eaten at Between the Buns a couple of times now. On our 1st visit we were surprised by all the different types of dogs that they had, and all the different types of sausages they served. I was feeling especially brave on my first visit and order The Texas Dog. Being from Texas, it sounded delish. If my memory serves me correctly, it has a Cheddar Jalapeno Smoked Andoullie Sausage made locally at Templeman's, Shredded Cheese, Chili, and MORE Jalapenos on top. It was SPICY and quite YUMMY. My hubby had the Chicago style dog and we both had the loaded french fries. Hubby LOVED his dog... he even shared a bite with me. The sausage had GREAT snap. I think that makes for the best dogs. The loaded french fries were loaded with Chili, Nacho Cheese, Bacon, Onions, Tomatoes, Olives, Jalapenos, Shredded Cheese, Salsa, and Sour Cream. They were MORE than enough for 2 people. We were happy that we both only ordered one dog. All and all it was a wonder experience. The people working were VERY nice and helpful in helping us make our decision on what to get. I do agree with the fact that they are a bit hard to find because of their location, but it's well worth the trip. So, if you are craving a GREAT dog in the Tri-Cities, I HIGHLY recommend Between the Buns. We have already told several friends to go there.

  • Lauren G.

I tried the Rockie's Dog (sauerkraut, grilled onions and grilled bell peppers) and the Mac Daddy Dog (a bacon-wrapped dog topped with mac and cheese). Both were amazing!

    (4)
  • David Y.

Amazing hot dogs! I tried the Waddi Dog (polish dog with peanut butter, bacon and maple syrup)... Never would have thought that would be good but, OH MY HOLY CHRISTMAS CRAP, it was AWESOME!!! This is my new favorite place to support increased heart disease cases in America! LoL I'm teasing of course. They also have vegan options for health-conscious folks. Great food, fun atmosphere, awesome service! Definitely one of the coolest little places in Tri-Cities! Love it!

    (5)
  • Sarah F.

We love this place! Great all beef hot dogs. My 10 year old flipped over the macaroni dog. A great find in Tri-Cities. Only downside I can see? They wont allow you to substitute (even paying more) an all beef hot dog in the kids menu. We are hot dog snobs and dont eat the chicken/hog parts ones.

  • Cody M.

Went here today for the first time. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The owner was working today when we were in and he was fun and gave advise on selections and the different styles. The portions were big and the fries were hot and crunchy how I like them. It's rare to find a fast food restaurant that has staff offer to get you a refill from your table or to offer a new cup to take some soda to go. I believe more places should offer the great customer service that between the buns offer. Great great establishment

This is my very first Yelp review! Ever since I first heard of Between The Buns, I have been wanting to make it in and finally today I made it. I was not disappointed! This is a unique place because there really isn't anything like it (that I know of) in the Tri-Cities... a great place to get specialty hot dogs and sausages. I love Chicago Dogs and so that's what I ordered tonight - it was great! I got it with the all beef hot dog (you have a choice of whatever kind of dog you want). It was a nice and hefty 1/4 lb dog, the toppings were very good but to my surprise... they even grill the dogs! It was grilled perfectly too, which made it taste SO good! They have many "recommended" stylings of hot dogs and sausages on their board, but you can modify them any way you want or completely go from scratch and create your own. And the prices are WAY good! One price and you can put on whatever you want... no extra charge! On top of that, the owner (Melissa) was behind the counter and was very nice to chat with! Her husband came in before I left and he was super nice, too. I'm pretty sure I'm going back tomorrow! My only problem will be what to order next? It is a toss up between the Island Dog (Polish sausage with teriyaki sauce, Jamaican relish, bacon, & pineapple) and the Tri-City Special (Rider's Hot German Sausage with cream cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon, & grilled onions). What a dilemma!

  • Rox K.

ok I know a hot dog is a hot dog. This place rocks, has a dog for every ones liking! Polite fast staff. Can you say 1001 types of hot dogs?

    (5)
  • Paul S.

Awesome! They had things I could only dream about. The servers were super friendly and helpful. I want to try every type of dog, but that will be hard because there's so many.

    (5)
  • Jenny R.

Not the hugest hotdog fan, but hey who doesnt love em? That being said, this place makes me rethink my processed prejudice. I have always wanted to try a chicago style dog, and this place had it! The employees were friendly and patient with us, and have been nothing but kind both times we havve gone! We took our 4 year old nephew there who cried his eyes out because he didnt realize that a hotdog wasnt a corn dog. We were in the middle of consoling him when a super nice lady came over and offered to turn his hotdog into a corn dog! Our nephew got a smile on his face and was happy! We absolutely love the map in the restaurant, and make sure to sit in front of it to see where everyone who visits it is from. Extremely child friendly (I think it was the owner that picked up our son and nephew to let them see on top of the trash cans because they were curious to see what was on top), tasty, very affordable, and has the feel of an out-of-town diner, we'll def be back! BTW, they also do catering, if you do nothing else, make sure you try a Chicago style dog from this place!

    (5)
  • Mickey M.

High-end hotdogs! Try the "Sean Dog" - all beef hotdog wrapped in bacon with pepperoni along the side. Topped with BBQ sauce if that's your thing. Sweet!

    (5)
  • Jesus M.

Small, cozy, and amazing! Service is best in Tri-Cities, food is delicious, and prices are awesome. If you want an extraordinary hot dog, this is the place. Funny how its the small places that remember how to give excellent customer service.

  • Ashley N.

I have never had a bad experience here. I go here often with my coworkers and have even gotten My husband addicted. Everything I had has blown my mind and has left me craving more even though my belly can't fit anymore. My first time I had a cheese-a-holic and was reluctant of the cream cheese at first but they earned my trust. Any concoction they make up I will most likely try. Once you have it you will be addicted.

So there we were, driving around Kennewick; aimless, looking for a decent place to eat. The bottom of the barrel already scrapped clean. We ended up on Clearwater and I remembered hearing about a new hot dog place on Yelp. With no other options, we decided to give it a try. It's in a half barren strip mall and would have been almost impossible to know it was there if it weren't for Yelp. However, they seemed to attract a decent crowd, especially since the place is so small. Since it was a small operation, there were only two people working there, but they were friendly. I opted for the all beef dog. I'm a simple man when it comes to hot dogs, just put mustard on it and I'm fine. No need for a ton of toppings (except for the occasional chili), but for the topping inclined, there are a TON of toppings to chose from. I also got a side of fries, which were only like $1 if I remember correctly and a Coke, which was also $1. The dog was good! It had a hint a smokiness and a great snap to the casing. And we all know what natural casings mean, right? It tasted of a real quality sausage and there are plenty of different styles to chose from. Free wifi is always a good touch and the owners seem really interested in Yelp, which is a good thing. So, there's something different that does it pretty well. I just hope it can survive in its current location.

I have been to Between The Buns many times, and I have to say, that this is a great place to eat! Last time I was there, I tried the one that they don't have a name for yet - a dog with peanut butter, bacon, and maple syrup. Oh. My. Gosh. It was soooo freaking good! I had it with the hot german sausage. I will have to get the same one next time I am there. (The Lumberjack would be a good name for it!) I have had the Cheese-A-Holic, the Tri-City Special, and the Texas Dog. I have never been disappointed. The chili cheese fries and the nachos have been very good as well. The people that work there are very friendly, and honest about their product. They had just got in some veggie dogs, which I decided to try. She told me that if I didn't like it, I can get something else. I don't know of any other places that would say that. It's priced right, great food, good people. I go back about once a week, and have told many others about it. I don't frequent a place or spread the word about a place unless I really like it. Another plus, is that they have free Wi-Fi too!

    (5)
  • Kristen B.

My husband and I have been to Between the Buns twice, and love it! We're working our way through the menu for a free t-shirt! The hot dogs are adventurous and tasty, everything from a basic dog to peanut butter and bacon! One of our faves is the Chicago! We recently moved from Seattle and were fans of Po-Dog - We were so happy to find Between the Buns :-) The staff is very friendly and helpful. We hope you enjoy it like we do!

  • Jacqulyn S.

My very first trip in & i got the Coney Dog w/ tots & iced tea. Safe choice for testing the waters and i must say it was pretty darn good! The chili was simple w/ good favor but the all beef dog cooked on the flat top grill was pure beefy goodness, awesome flavor & texture! There are so many options to choose from i look forward to returning & trying the rest of their tasty fair!! Next time it will be the Bacon wrapped dog cover in mac'n cheese, how can one not say yes to that!!

  • Chad W.

Every topping you can think of...order the specialties or create your own. My bun was a little on the moist side but they do not skimp on the toppings.

Great place to get a hot dog. . . . I like the creativity and it's family owned so always want to be supporting that....

Real good selection of hot dogs, great taste but what brings it down a star is that they close at 3pm!

  • Jeff V.

I have to say I had reservations about going to hot dog restautant for lunch, but my sister-in-law and her husband recommended it. I went in today with my friend at lunch. I ordered the Southern Slaw dog and he got tyhe BLT dog. We both ordered fries and got a drink. The customer service was awesome and service was quick. I left the counter with the drinks and within about 2-3 minutes our food was at our table. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the dog and the amount of toppings. I think I had a polish sausage on mine, not just a regular dog. The fries were crispy, hot, and crinkle cut. If I had needed to get one I could have had a free refill as well. I could go on and on but you need to try this place for yourself. It's so much more than than your average dog and I'll be back!

  • Steve H.

Great variety of dogs, condiments and specials. Clean place and great staff, very attentive to the customers. Seating is a bit sparse, but nice to see it busy over the noon and post noon lunch rush. I'll be back.

1st visit, interesting. Waitstaff very friendly and guided us thru our visit. Had "The Texan" g-r-e-a-t. Decor is kinda ??, but it is a Hot Dog Stand. My wife and I will go back and sample more. Recommended!

  • Ken N.

Went here today, and I have to say, it was great! I ordered a dog with almost everything on it, and it was just as I wanted. When my buddy used to live in Ellensburg, we used to go to a hot dog stand after drinking all night - and this place brought back those good memories, with a great dog with outstanding toppings. Only thing I worry about was that it was very hard to find, no real signage on the road and it was very dark from the outside, so hopefully they find a way to alert the drivers on clearwater that they are there and make it through the dark cold winter! We though, will definitely be back.

Always have loved these guys at their street corner location. First time into the restuarant. It is even better. Oh did I mention free wi-fi too?

  • Dennis M.

Who from this area doesn't like Rider's sausages, served on a great bun with good toppings and sides? BTB is new, having evolved from some hot dog carts open in downtown K-Town. they have many more options than Rider dogs and my wife went for a braut tonight. I loved the place--my wife gives it a "meh." Maybe it's a guy thing, the craving for a fresh hot sausage with spicy brown mustard. They are in the shop of the dying restaurants locale, so let's just hope they can make it through their first couple years. I, for one, will patronize (on my Hanford days off--while wife is still at work).

You absolutely need to be craving a hot dog if you come here. While there are a TON of different topping options for hot dogs, their other options are pretty limited. (Loaded nachos / loaded tater tots are about it in terms of alternatives.) I ordered the pizza dog with a side of mac and cheese to put on top. My fiance ordered the nachos. My pizza dog was DELICIOUS. I loved it. This place does hot dogs right - they are getting high quality sausages, and they don't skimp on the ingredients. I would definitely come back to try some of their other options. The chips in the nachos were standard chips and a little salty for me, but the toppings made up for it. To be honest, the place is kind of a dive. You are within sight of the kitchen, and the tables and chairs reminded me of a dining hall. The majority of their decorations seemed to be kitschy hot-dog related items. It's definitely unique. They have a printed menu at the register, but their big board of menu options was hand written on printer paper. There were also t-shirts advertised for purchase hanging on the walls. Everyone seemed really friendly. We placed our order and were given one of those numbered signs. When our food was ready, it was run out to us. Halfway through our meal someone came to check in on us that we were happy with our food, and we bussed our own table. The restaurant did have pretty loud 90's music playing in the background - if it were up to me, it would have been turned down a notch, but it kind of went with their casual, dive-y feel. Overall, they're specializing in a single thing, and they do an awesome job at that specialization. I was really debating between 4 and 5 stars for this one, but 5 won out just due to their hot dog creativity and how good my meal was.

Really friendly staff. Answered the 100's of questions we had! We got the Macdaddy Dawg and the Downtown Dawg. Both super delicious. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Great wiener place in the Tricities. They have a set menu or you can create your own. Although busy, they keep tabs on their customers and when they thought we were waiting too long (which we did not feel we were) profusely apologized and offered discount card for future use. Did I mention the sausages were deelish and their coleslaw was scrumptious.

Just wasn't that impressed. I don't know why I am in the minority on this one. I probably would have gave it one more star but the floor needed a major sweeping. I would like to try this again and see if it was a off day. Will revise my stars if it was. *Edit* Received a message from BTB. Made me feel like they cared. Giving another star for service. Like I said it may have been a fluke.I will definitely try again. Thanks!

The person who gave this restaurant a 1 star review is either delusional, lives at the Four Seasons hotel, or most likely has a personal grudge against either this restaurant or hot dogs in general (childhood trauma?). Not only did they "not mess up" a hot dog, which is hard to do, but they exceeded my expectations. I've had the Chicago dog at Sonic among other fast food type places across the country so that's what I ordered yesterday to gauge against what I know. It was delicious! The hot dog itself was very tasty which is unusual because I get sick of hot dogs for being too salty/greasy quickly. It was large and juicy. The buns were obvious STEAMED (not warmed up in a microwave) so it really annoys me that someone would even say that like they know what they're talking about. The toppings were definitely fresh. Some like pickled toppings obvious are PICKLED so they come from a can. Genius. I ordered a side of nacho cheese sauce to go with my fries but didn't need it because they have that amazing "fry sauce" which I am always trying to make on my own in restaurants by mixing ketchup and mayo. How freakin convenient! I like how they have punch cards for free dogs or a free tshirt if you try all the different flavors. I will definitely try to achieve that while I'm in town for the next 3 months. It was a great place to get a cheap, filling and tasty lunch! Everyone was extremely nice and I like the map they have on the wall where you put a pin where you're visiting from.

We visit the tri-cities every few months, having lived here before. This place will definitely be on our list of favorites. It's pretty easy to drive by on Clearwater Ave due to the small sign and odd u-shaped strip mall. The guy helping us decide to order was phenomenal and very very accommodating and helpful. We ended up making two dogs for our 8 and 6 year olds (peanut butter on one...) and we got the counterfeit Chicago and tri-city one with BBQ /cream cheese/ etc. both excellent! Customer service was tremendous and the food great. I think fair price and worth every penny spent.

Hey for a hot dog place we were very impressed. Anyone can make a hot dog but their toppings make these out of this world! I had my doubts when coming here as I'm not a hot dog fan but I was pleasantly surprised. Staff is great and the food is made to order and tastes super. The kids loved the Mac daddy hot dogs and wow try the home made macaroni and cheese. It's amazing!!

Amazing customer service, ok food. I tried the tricity special, the bun was very soggy and tasted like I was eating grease, it lacked flavor.. I'm a big foodie, I love trying new things but this place, never coming back. Great service though.

Yum!!! Great staff. Love the humor. Soooo good :) we got the bacon Mac and cheese dog. Decided to split it bc it was just a quick snack stop. Great place for a quick bite. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

This place is exactly perfect. Large bright dooming area fast friendly service and kick ass selection. Creative well executed choices and many different sausages make for an interesting visit or over several visits. The specialty dogs come on a big bun which is needed to hold the ample amount of toppings. I made my way through 2 of them and man. It was a challenge. I'll admit I left lots of bun behind but needed to sleep in my rental for an hour before going back to my customer site. The Coney is terrific and holds up to any I've had anywhere in the US even my home state of NJ. The Tri City is a bacon sautéed onion tipped spicy sausage with sweet BBQ sauce and cream cheese this was KILLER! Bottles drinks refilled by one of the any friendly workers. I think my guy was the boss but he was humble kind and personable just like the counter lady. Mucho success guys I loved this place! FoodDude, I'm nominating this place for Triple D!

Ordered a hot Ryder sausage with mustard this time. Was too simple for them to screw up (first time in 4 visits there wasn't a problem). It tasted like it should and the bun wasn't soggy (which is a first). The review for the Ryder is 5 stars, but between the buns hasn't earned my trust back. I didn't take them up on the free meal offer last time because service is very important in the store at the time of purchase. Give me good service then.

Holy heck, one of the best corn dogs I have had...ever. Super friendly staff and great prices. Worth the drive from western wa!

This little hole in the wall is awesome! The prices couldn't be better, and either could the flavor. My expectations weren't too high when I came in here because....hot dogs...but I was pleasantly surprised. I only wish they were open on Sundays so I could go more often. This is one of those places where everything on the menu tastes good and you don't need to do anything to it or take anything away, it all works together. There is very limited seating inside and I can only imagine how busy it gets during peak hours, I always try to come in here in-between meal times. This is a place that once you try it, you'll be back over and over!

By far my most favorite restaurant. Sure, it ain't fancy. But the food is the best, and the service is wonderful. I remember I was first hesitant when my husband wanted to take me here. But now because of his stubbornness, I can't thank him enough for letting me experience what a good local restaurant has to offer. I am so excited to see this company grow, they truly deserve the success!

  • Brian A.

The best there is when it comes to hot dogs. I have had several of their dogs, including the authentic Chicago dog today. The buns, and the rest of the fixings, are always fresh. I've had them catered at am event, too.

Love the staff and the food is so good. Great portion size too. My favorite is just a plain chili cheese hot dog. Their veggie hot dog is very good too which is hard to come by.

This place is awesome. You gotta give it a try. Great staff and one of the best hotdog places. The food is pretty consistent and there are lots of unique choices. My favorite is the Texan but I love them all honestly. The fries are great and they have fry sauce. I love fry sauce. Pricing is pretty good. You can get a great hotdog with the fixings, fries and drink under ten bucks. This place is a little divey but I don't mind it at all. Been eating here since it opened.

So....the staff convinced me to try the mango salsa even though it has onions and I loathe onions. It was friggin delicious!! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Had a yummy island dog that they happily made to my specifications. Definitely going back. Don't expect fancy decor or "ambiance" just order your fav and dig in. Won't disappoint. :)

Fantastic. This is my 3rd trip here. I avoided this place for too long thinking, "How good could a hot dog be?" Well, it is really, really good. Great staff too. Definitely come here. And don't get the chips. Get the tots.

So, it's entirely possible that after spending 28 years in the Chicago area, I might be a hot dog snob. (Also of note: I'm a customer service snob.) Be prepared: I was delighted by both the folks behind the counter and the food in the basket handed to me. I'm no stranger to fancy pants weirdo sausages covered with all sorts of odds and ends, so the menu here didn't phase me in the slightest. In fact, I went with their "Waddi-dog," which features bacon and peanut butter on a Polish. I think the maple syrup (served on the side) was unnecessary, but it was a solid sausage. I'm looking forward to going back and trying a few others on the menu. Service was friendly, polite, and speedy. No complaints!

  • Koni K.

Simply delish! Lots of toppings for hotdogs! Something for every taste. I went for peanutbutter bacon and syrup! Oooh yaaaaa! You can also build your own! Prices are fair and service is great! They also do hand dipped corn dogs. If you are a hot dog lover give this place a try. Side note: BTB sold hotdogs at our event and people loved them! The staff was super! Thanks BTB!!

Amazing dogs!!! The variety of flavors and combinations abounds. The toppings are varied and fun. I had a Chicago Dog with a hot link. Super tasty while the Mrs. went with a pork dog with dill relish and mustard. Tater tots rounded out the meal. Highly recommend!

  • Henry O.

If you love hot dogs this place is for you! They have a wide variety of options to choose from. The staff is super friendly overall and very helpful to first-timers. The tator tots was bomb. Kinda tucked into a shopping strip off of Clearwater Ave.

The 5 stars is for the service. The food is just an added bonus. As soon as we walk in the door we are greeted. Not with just a random "Hi". The employees always have a smile on their face, say hello, and ask how we're doing. They are very helpful with ordering, and suggesting something if you're not sure what you want. They put a TON of toppings on their dogs. Me personally, I HATE messy food. So I'm very thankful that when I ask for very little condiments, they put just the right amount on. My favorites to get are the Tri-City Special, and their hand dipped corn dogs. Such a hard choice so sometimes I end up getting both. Not recommended because their hot dogs and sausages are HUGE! I'm trying to be a little adventurous and try others, they all sound so good. And every time we leave, we are always told good-bye, and thanks for coming in. And every time we can tell it's sincere, and they mean it. Even if the food sucked I would still come here because of the service. It's one thing to serve great food, but the service is what keeps me coming back.

You got to give this place an A+ for creativity. They have a hot dog themed for every food style Italian, Mexican, to Elvis. The fact that they have multiple dogs to put in your buns rocks. The variety ranges from spicy to vegetarian. It is a plus that a vegetarian can eat at a this hot dog joint because this not always the case. My wife loves this place, but I think it is slightly over hyped. You definitely need to go here wanting a hot dog because the variety is limited. Overall though it is a good place to eat. It is your best bet for a dog in the Tri.

  • Stephen J.

Got the Mac dawg and cheese or something (I forgot what it was called, I stopped thinking after the first bite). It was a corn dog (no ordinary corn dog, this is something of home made quality). They sliced the corn dog the long way and opened it like a bun. For the toppings they put their made from scratch un-Mac and cheese topped with crispy bacon bits on the corn dog. Seeing as the corn dog was big enough to pick up and eat that way.. I did. Bring the kids. Bring the fam. Bring your Norwegian great great grandmother. This place will customize your wiener to the ends of the earth and back. There is something for everyone. Not sure about you vegetarians out there though.

I have eaten at this restraunt more times than I can count, and have had all the items on their menu. I still have a one word explanation of the food and service: SCRUMTRULESCENT. Between the Buns is so SCRUMTRULESCENT, that I can barely move! Go there. Do it now! Why are you still reading? GO GO GO!

    (5)
  • Emmalee S.

Not your average wiener is right! This place will knock you socks off. With so many different choices, I could eat here every day and be completely content. My favorite so far is the TriCity Special, which comes with cream cheese, grilled onions, bacon, and BBQ sauce.

  • Kim O.

"Hole in the Wall" kind of place that was pretty clean. The food was good (remember these are hotdogs, so nothing brilliant). Dogs had great flavor, lots of yummy toppings, and crinkle cut fries that were fried to perfection. So why the 5 stars? Price..... Fantastic prices. Owner.... I love seeing an owner working his/her own restaurant. He was super friendly, patient (while we ordered food for our six kiddos), and just made it a pleasant dining experience.

If you are looking for a unique food experience, check out Between the Buns! They have so many unique hot dogs/sausages! Where else can you find a bacon wrapped dog, in a bun filled with Mac & cheese? I have only tried three different ones, but they were all great!

I' visited this place based on my daughters recommendation. I wasn't disappointed. Their hot dogs are large. They have about 15or so kinds of hot dogs; some quite interesting. My daughter had the MacDaddy with bacon and loved it. First trip there I had the Tri-City with a side of Mac n Cheese and a water. The hot dog was excellent. However, I was disappointed with the mac n cheese. They said it was "homemade" but turns out it's Velveeta and macaroni noodles. Little kids might like that but not me. Was also a little disappointed by the price; $9. Not too bad but a little high for my preference. Second trip there was today during lunch rush. The place was pretty full and the tables filled up quickly. Several people in line. But they are pretty quick. Had the lunch special - Pork hot dog with spicy relish and mustard. Very, very tasty. The relish is slightly sweet but the heat definitely comes though. Not overpowering but a nice little burn. Not too bad for those that are not big spicy food fans. The fries were crinkle cut, ample quantity and a 16oz fountain drink for $5!!! Now that is my kind of meal. Excellent flavor, ample quantity and a fair price. I will be back. Thanks fellas. Love what you are doing.

I love this place. Whenever we can't agree on a place to eat, we automatically default to Between the Buns. The people are friendly, the food is good, and local places are always fun. Also, shout out to Willow. She's awesome.

Stopped here on the way to Cannon Beach. Super friendly staff . The hotdogs are huge, the buns so soft and chewy, and the toppings tremendous! This was well worth the visit! We were the first ones to put a pin on the map from Sioux Falls SD, I wish we had one of these back there!

1st visit, interesting. Waitstaff very friendly and guided us thru our visit. Had "The Texan" g-r-e-a-t. Decor is kinda ??, but it is a Hot Dog Stand. My wife and I will go back and sample more. Recommended!

The best there is when it comes to hot dogs. I have had several of their dogs, including the authentic Chicago dog today. The buns, and the rest of the fixings, are always fresh. I've had them catered at am event, too.

  • Sarah M.

Love the staff and the food is so good. Great portion size too. My favorite is just a plain chili cheese hot dog. Their veggie hot dog is very good too which is hard to come by.

Our office ordered lunch in for today. We placed the order yesterday afternoon and picked it up as soon as they opened. All the orders were correct and everyone enjoyed their food. Thanks for a lunch well done!

    (5)

As good of the dog as you can get. Over time I have tried six different ones and can't even consider giving these guys 4 stars. It is solid 5 star rating.

  • Phil A.

    (1)
  • Tim K.

Yummy! We took four adults and three kids and everyone was happy! Great menu, quality dogs and buns, and great price. We just moved to the area and will be coming back for more!

  • Brittany N.

    (5)

  • Cory G.

Amazing!

    (5)
  • DanandShelley T.

Any kind of hot dog you could possibly want, served by some of the friendliest folks in town. This would totally be a five star review were it not for the congested and cramped location. I hope that this business continues to succeed and moves to a bigger store!

    (4)
  • Todd T.

Always a great deal, cheap, fresh and delish

What an awesome selection of dogs and wieners. The Tri-city dog with its Riders spicy German sausage and the caramelized onions and a bit of BBQ sauce is so good. Very reasonably priced. This was my 1st visit, don't know how I've missed this the past few years.

Very good I have the pizza dog and my wife had Mac daddy dog. Good people good food. The only down side is they were so big and full u had to use a fork could not just pick it up..... Oh wait that's good too...:-) we will be back

My husband hates hot dogs and loved it here. We have tried tri city american, chicken bacon ranch and mac daddy and they all were amazing!

Really busy today! Still was greeted by the Boss man when we walked in. Pretty quick service and great food.

Absolutely love between the buns. Me and a few guys from work come hear at least every other week and chow down! There is something for everyone, from a GOOD Basic dog to one with peanut butter on it. Definitely a must in Kennewick!!

Just had lunch here.had the chili cheese sausage...great dog!! Tater tots were a little over done but still edible.prices a little high but worth it.definitly a place to go back to.too bad theyre not open on sundays

    (4)
  • Lauren G.

I tried the Rockie's Dog (sauerkraut, grilled onions and grilled bell peppers) and the Mac Daddy Dog (a bacon-wrapped dog topped with mac and cheese). Both were amazing!

What a dilemma!

ok I know a hot dog is a hot dog. This place rocks, has a dog for every ones liking! Polite fast staff. Can you say 1001 types of hot dogs?

Awesome! They had things I could only dream about. The servers were super friendly and helpful. I want to try every type of dog, but that will be hard because there's so many.

High-end hotdogs! Try the "Sean Dog" - all beef hotdog wrapped in bacon with pepperoni along the side. Topped with BBQ sauce if that's your thing. Sweet!

Small, cozy, and amazing! Service is best in Tri-Cities, food is delicious, and prices are awesome. If you want an extraordinary hot dog, this is the place. Funny how its the small places that remember how to give excellent customer service.
