I only get coffee and pastry here since my food experiences have been lackluster.

Just finished eating lunch at Red Twig with my husband. I wish I could say it was fantastic, but we were hugely disappointed. The decor and atmosphere are warm, but the food and service are absolutely terrible. I ordered the "Vineyard" salad, and my husband ordered the Reuben sandwich. With food and 2 iced teas, the bill came to almost $30, which is a lot for lunch. But I figured, well, we're in Edmonds, and I bet the food will be awesome. Not. After waiting almost 30 minutes (for just a salad and sandwich remember), our food finally came. My supposed gourmet salad was supposed to contain grilled chicken, apples, grapes, candied walnuts, etc. Instead, I got bagged lettuce, frozen chicken, plain unsalted walnuts, and no apples. The "toast" on the side was a piece of stale toasted bread. Had I paid $4.50 for this salad at the grocery store, I would have been happy with it. It's unimaginable that they can stay in business charging high prices for such crappy food. My husband's sandwich was also underwhelming, came with no sides (for $11, seriously?) and almost to the point of dry. The service was lazy and unapologetic. We sat right next to the kitchen and watched the staff since we had nothing else do do for the the 30 minutes we waited for our food. There were six employees, but only two of them seemed to be working at any given time, and they were in no hurry to get orders out. I sat and watched the two food prep people shoot the breeze like they had all day and nowhere to be. There were more customers waiting for their food than there were customers actually eating food, and almost every one of them had to come back to the counter to find out what the hold up was. The staff blamed the delay on an afternoon "rush," which was laughable because the place was only half full. We won't ever go back, and don't recommend you do either. There are plenty of other places in Edmonds to spend your money for good food and prompt service.

Red Twig is a cute cafe in Edmonds with upscale, modern, artistic decor inside. The cafe/bakery's charm comes with large windows allowing sunlight to pour into the cafe (if there is any), and it also helps there's a nice large outdoor seating space in front of the cafe, complete with many umbrella tables and a water fountain. I "created" my savory crepe (choice of 1 meat (chicken, turkey...) + sauce (pesto and... red?) + 2 sides. I thought I ordered chicken, mozzarella, mushroom, and pesto sauce in my crepe, but my order arrived without mushrooms :( I probably got too excited with the thought that I could customize my crepe, that I spaced on saying mushrooms. Of course when I started eating it, I began desiring mushrooms and almost requested to have a side order of it, just to satisfy my craving, but I didn't. I was too busy enjoying what I had in front of me. The crepe itself was incredibly thick and soft, the mozarella cheese was gooey, and the pesto sauce was basil based and smooth (not pine nutty or gritty). They have plenty of breakfast options and baked good offerings-- the berry cobbler, Apple Betty bar, and chocolate bars looked sinfully good. I'll have to come back and try out more on their menu next time!

I feel the need to update this review because we've hit this place for lunch a couple times in 2011 and our sandwiches were really good. I'm still not excited over the prices, but at least the food has improved!

This place was fantastic. I got the lemon crepe (amazingly delicious) and the barista special: white chocolate almond mocha (also amazingly delcious). My mocha did not taste of almond, but it was still really tasty. Located in a cute little area in downtown Edmonds. A little bit overpriced for the food, but it was tasty so I didn't really care.

The food is yummy, but the portions are small and pretty expensive. I was able to eat my breakfast outside deck and have my dogs at my side, but otherwise the place is alright.

It's in a great downtown location. The food and service are always good. I think it would be great if they were open a little later on weekends.

One of the better-than-Starbucks/Tullys coffee options in Edmonds (I still prefer the place that serves Illy around the corner) but really tasty baked goods. And I mean REALLY tasty baked goods. Man that raspberry-filled croissant slays me every time! Open early, and hard to get a seat on the weekends, but a good place to meet someone (likely you'll just be ordering to-go....I really mean tables are very rarely available on the weekends). Friendly staff, wish they made a better cup of coffee though (too bitter!!) :)

I don't normally love hollandaise (sp?) sauce, but when I saw the Twig Bennedict (regular bennedict with smoked salmon instead of ham) on the menu I had to try it. WOW! The hollandaise sauce was delicious! Such a great combo with the salmon. The breakfast was served with diced potatoes. I wish they had put a bigger scoop of spuds on mine for the $12 price tag. Lovely outdoor seating with nice plants and a fountain.

The food is local, fresh, and very fancy for what it is. It is pricey for a sandwich but the flavor made me forget that. The staff are very friendly and it is nice to go somewhere that has a younger urban feel.

This was my first time visiting this place. There was people sitting outside on their deck on a sunday in downtown Edmonds, which is why I chose to come here. This place was WAY overpriced, the food was half @ssed, and the waitress came off with a bit of an attitude. I had the eggs benedict, it came with a "hash browns" these were cold to the touch. The hollandaise sauce tasted like a mix of tobsaco and lemon juice. I did not finish my extremely small plate. I do not recommend this place to any breakfast lovers.

I occaisionally get breakfast or lunch here, and would do so more often if the prices were a bit more affordable. The food is very tasty - I always have a dessert style crepe for breakfast and theirs is quite nice. I feel the panini sandwiches have a bit more impact and the soup's always lovely (they have some alternative takes on the classic recipes which are quite refreshing). Their mocha's one of the best I've ever had - but they don't believe quite as strongly as I do in the power of whipped cream. I do wish the service were a little friendlier and swifter. Don't stop in at the last moment to get your meal on the run - they move at a much more relaxed pace here. However, if you're enjoying a relaxed afternoon the atmosphere indoors is great for conversation and in the summer their terrace allows you to take in the air and watch things move by at a slower "Edmonds" pace.

The people working there were nice, however, here's what we got for $20: a "grilled cheese sandwich" was two small pieces of DRY toast with two pieces of melted cheese in the middle - NO condiments, tomato, etc. This came with a "side of fresh fruit" that was a small, sliced tart apple. Looked like I'd ordered from the kiddie menu. My companion had a turkey and avocado, also small. Served with a "side salad" that was a bunch of Spring Mix greens and NOTHING else. No tomato, no carrot - nothing. He literally ate lunch again an hour later. Worst value I've ever experienced in a restaurant.

I expected Red Twig to be rated higher - I enjoyed my meal here the other night. Between my wife and I we had the blue cheese salad, croissant sandwich, and the meatloaf sandwich. We both thought the food was very tasty and the breads featured on each item were a highlight. The service was not super friendly but it was efficient and professional.

Lovely outdoor setting and relaxed inside atmosphere. Like the order at the counter, and choose your own table scenario Tasty grilled veggie panini and ice tea for $11 makes a light and affordable lunch. Quality hot tea and coffee. Will return to sample tempting pastry selection.

O.k. If you've gotta have your coffee and sun to warm your body, this is the place to hook up. Lovely patio with a huge Red Twig chair for accent. Large windows makes you still feel connected to the outdoors, even in winter. And...in case you haven't been there in the past year, downtown Edmonds is becoming more hip, yet still has that free, easy-to-find-a parking spot. As for the coffee, I also find it overpriced, but good. (Not great like the consistent Uptown in Belltown.) Yet, my husband has been going to Red Twig once a week for a few years now to meet friends, as he loves the coffee and the ....did I mention the sunshine!?

I go to the Red Twig every Monday for coffee and some breakfast item off the menu. Im slowly working my way down the list. There is also a full bakery selection to chose from. The cinnamon rolls are enormous! The hostess took a few times to warm up to us, favoring regulars, but hey, thats the way I am too. I tried the Eggs Benedict and they were fabulous! I then had the Salmon Benedict..Fabulous too. Blueberry pancakes were good, totally home made, and I'm not a pancake fan. I had the Fiesta Eggs. Yummy! Today I had the Steel Cut Oatmeal. with brown sugar, bananas and cream. Not over cooked, very good, VERY filling. I could only eat 1/2 the bowl. I love the inviting atmosphere. No rush to get out after your done. There is an outdoor deck as well, which catches the morning sun perfectly. My only draw back about the place is that I find its a little spendy.. Not overly so, but just a little. Not enough to keep me from going for my regular Monday splurge.

I love this place. I take my family there for brunch or lunch and we love the food and atmosphere! The patio is a great place to relax in the sun and enjoy an Edmonds day! We love the crepes and sandwiches, especially the meatloaf sandwich and barbeque pork which is smoked on site!

We visited Edmonds for the first time today, and had a great, relaxing stop at Red Twig. We shared a Mediterranean Salmon Salad, which was excellent. Just what I wanted to refresh on a hot day. Their coffee was also very good. Loved the cute interior and patio. Barista dude was very cute, too. We plan to go back the next time we visit.

Crepes for breakfast, panini for lunch and shade-grown coffee all day long. All the pastries are fresh baked daily...ask me if they're yummy...go ahead, ask! Why yes! The pastries are quite delicious, thanks for asking. Outdoor seating when the rain holds off and the perfect place to stop when you are strolling or biking around Edmonds. Can this town get any cuter?

Well, what a pleasant little (not so little) gem we landed upon one Sunday afternoon in search for a coffee place that wasn't Starbucks. I like the feel of this place, the staff was nice, quick service, and their menu looks to die for....CREPES! We'll have to come by here again to try them. But their coffee is organic which doesn't sit too well with me. I had my typical vanilla latte. Still good, I just couldn't drink it all. Just tasted like I was chewing on coffee beans straight. But they have a lot of seating space, including outside for the nicer weather days. I like Edmonds, particulary for places like this.

Had a very annoying experience at Red Twig. While standing in line waiting to order, we were being moved and crowded constantly by patrons and employees trying to get by us. The food was overpriced, small portions and just bad. One plus, the bread they use for every sandwich on the menu was very good but overused. Absolutely, the very worst reuben sandwich we have every experienced. There was two slices of pastrami on the whole sandwich, and the pathetic salad was old nasty and frozen. Very dissappointing, two thumbs down! I second everything AJ R. wrote as well!

Great architecture and dining area, diverse baked goods option and a solid, healthy short menu of meals that leave the kitchen with great presentation. I tend to go for the ham and corn muffins or morning glory muffins, cinnamon rolls, and berry scones. In terms of vibe and given its central location, it attracts a good crowd of locals, cyclists, tourists, and sound-bound yacht owners. It's less "fun" than Walnut Cafe, but right up there in terms of "best coffee shops that are more than a coffee shop" in Edmonds. I'm a little surprised to see the amount of negative reviews here, though I can't argue that it's a little pricey. If it's busy, the ordering area can be cramped. Given the dark wood interior and high ceilings, maybe it feels a little "cold" to people, I don't know. It's a regular weekend stop in our household, well worth the trip.

This is a cute, lil' place in downtown Edmonds. You order your meal at the counter and they'll come out and bring it to you. I ordered the smoked salmon benedict while the sis got the meatloaf sandwich & lemon bar. They also have an array of breakfast pastries which looked oh so tempting. They also have an outdoor seating area which is perfect when you wanna soak up some sun. I would have to say the prices are a little pricier and the only thing I didn't like so much was the coffee situation. They will give you a mug when you place your order at the counter but you fill it yourself at the station near the register which can be a hassle because I like to fill up mine high so you're super careful when you're walking so the coffee doesn't splash onto the side or spilling everywhere. Then you have to do a repeat of that again when you want a refill & it can be a pain when you're eating outside too. I dunno but I love me some coffee and it would seem much easier to just fill it at the table, right? Ok, that's the only con but I would def come here again if I was in the area.

I have visited the Red Twig at different times of day and each time have received unfriendly service! Thought it was just me, but everyone I talk to has the same experience. They recently added "happy hour" but if you're looking for a good deal, don't go - $4 bottled beers and $6 glasses of wine.

    (1)
  • Denise N.

just to clarify shannon's review - the panini is the only sandwich premade so it can't be modified. the daily panini is assembled on focaccia bread, on a sheet pan, all at once.

This was a disappointment for sure. My ten dollar wedge salad was missing something. I was hoping that as the meal went on things would improve but that wasn't the case. The dressing was good but for ingredients that cost about $2 I am not sure where the other 8 went but definitely not towards service. They were sold out of the first three things we tried to order so somebody must like this place. My friend liked his meatloaf sandwich, but again not worth $11. For three people for an order-at-the-counter kind of lunch, $30 was way not worth it.

Decor cute, ambience nice, close to Main St....all pluses. But the food is horrible. Went there today, ordered a veggie sandwich. Thought for $8.50 it would be a piled-high with fresh veggies kind of experience. Um, no. Lemme tell you what was on it, and I exaggerate not... 2-3 leaves of baby spinach, 5-6 small chunks of cubed tomato, one thinly sliced cucumber round per half sandwich, a tiny bit of shredded cheese (gross, shredded cheese on a sandwich). You almost couldn't even see the veggies, they really weren't even there. I ate a couple bites (flavor was okay but like I said there weren't any veggies on a veggie sandwich!) and then returned it to the counter and asked for my money back. They seemed a little annoyed and kind of shocked that someone who ordered a veggie sandwich would actually want some vegetables on it and not just 2 slices of thick grilled bread. My husband owns a restaurant in Seattle and he was with me....I asked him to estimate the food cost of the sandwich I got and he said $1 was generous. There was nothing there. Save your $$$.

My views haven't changed but I wanted to add that the crepes are still the same noodly-textured delights, but the lemon filling option has apparently been replaced by nutella and sliced banana. I recommend ordering these on the side too as the nutella overload inside the crepes would be as extreme as the lemon curd overload was in the past. As to the coffee, as before, the drip version is inconsistent and can be very weak, so I recommend ordering an Americano and asking the barista to go "easy on the water" if you like strong coffee.

Ordered the salmon wrap and the Mexican wrap for lunch, plus a soda and a cookie. We didn't have to wait long and enjoyed using the outside seating area. The food was just okay, but rather pricey. We spent almost $30 for lunch.

Aj R. Your review said the Red Twig hires less than reputable employees. Kinda scummy you said. So you did a background check on em or something? How do you know they're less than reputable? Are you a bigot who judges people without knowing anything about them? I go to the Red Twig almost every day and feel it's both clean and the employees are nice and friendly. Do you think they're scummy because some of them have long hair or something? People like you who judge others different than you are what's wrong with our country. I say this as a combat veteran who fought for all Americans to be free and equal. Look in the mirror and stop being bigoted.

I'm really surprised by the reviews at Red Twig - I was pleasantly surprised by this place! I LOVED the decor and atmosphere - it was trendy yet laid-back and a great space to catch up with friends. I was a little confused at first but you order at the counter and then sit down, they give you a plaque, and then bring you your food. I ordered the panini special of the day and my friend had the same with a bowl of salmon chowder. The panini was really good! It had feta, artichokes, peppers on focaccia bread and was *juicy.* (I'd use the word moist here but I HATE that word - juicy doesn't really convey the correct message but you get the idea.) I'd say the sandwich was a LITTLE bit greasy but not in a bad, distracting, disgusting way. My sandwich, plus a drink, was a little over $12. A little more expensive than what I'd expect to pay at a place like this but I can easily overlook it. They forgot to get me a drink but one of the people working there was SUPER friendly and apologetic and brought it right away. My food took a little longer to come out than my friend's but nowhere near as long as some of the other reviews that I read. There are so many great places to eat in Edmonds - this place poses some stiff competition. The Loft will forever be my favorite but Red Twig is perfect for a more casual meal with a couple of friends.

This place is more like 3.5 stars, but I rounded down. I guess I'm feeling half empty today. Anyway, what I enjoy most about this place is the ambiance. It's very cozy, cute and stylish. I enjoyed my lattes and breakfast burritos on the times I came here for an early, mellow weekend morning but It's looking as though it's going downhill judging by reviews. I want to come back soon to see for myself if it has gone downhill as much as they say it has. It seems to me that this place could benefit from sit-down service as opposed to ordering up front -- it might help the congestion that can happen near the register making it difficult for one to maneuver.

Generally, I like this place. Both indoor and outdoor spaces are nice and well kept. Small complaints: The customer service is pretty good and the staff seem friendly. However, they pretty much ignore you after you order your stuff. The food is expensive for the time of day (went around noon time) and there weren't any cheap meal options, unless you order JUST a drink or JUST a baked good. Maybe adding some specials during lunch would encourage customers to try different things? I dunno, just a thought. Overall, I wouldn't venture in everyday. That's why I say...you are A-OK.

The coffee tasted good but I would have liked it to be warmer. The cashier was very friendly but the staff needs to write names on the cups. People were taking each others drinks.

How have I not written a Red Twig review before now? Bad me. We've been going to the Red Twig for many years now - we live in Seattle but yes, it is indeed worth the drive up to Edmonds for delicious crepes and other lovely menu items on a Sunday morning. We bring the Sunday paper, grab a table, and sit down with our freshly-prepared latttes to wait for our brunch order. There are so many delectable menu items that I ALWAYS have a problem trying to decide what to order. ALWAYS. It's a great problem to have! Amazing crepe selection - both savory and sweet. Delicious benedicts. Yummy pancakes and scrambles. And oatmeal. Phenomenal panini. Wonderful salads. Are you getting the idea that I am here often? Good. It's great service and food, why the heck wouldn't I be here often? Good stuff.

Average coffee shop- the coffee was fine, service was average (mumbling girls behind the counter). I had an eggs benedict for breakfast and most of it was really good - the eggs were poached beautifully - but then the muffin was burnt beyond recognition and hard as a rock. It was one of those days I didn't feel like complaining so I didn't say anything. I have reason to be in Edmonds from time to time and I would probably go back here but just be careful to inspect my food before eating it.

I really like the Twig for breakfast or lunch. Fresh, quality ingredients; attractive space and great coffee. Love that breakfast is served until 1pm. I'm a fan of the Slim Jim breakfast and today had some great chicken veggie soup served with whole grain toast. My husband's tuna melt panini was mouth-watering!!

One of my absolute favorite places in Edmonds. I can't even begin to explain how delicious everything has been here. Great coffee and amazing Chai. I typically stick with Chai though. Something I really enjoy is the customizable crepes. I usually get one with fresh mozarella, fresh tomatos, and chicken. I suggest coming by on a weekday because weekends can get pretty busy. The outdoor seating in the summer is a delight.

Red Twig is a favorite stop of mine if I want to have a breakfast meeting, or meet a friend for an afternoon coffee. Coffee is well crafted. Breakfast items include both pastries and full plate items (my favorite is the benedict). Outdoor seating when it is sunny, and ample seating indoors for the rainy days.

I love the red twig! The people are always nice and upbeat. I love their coffee and have had a fair share of things on the menu. I was not a fan of their eggs benedict. The hollandaise tasted like it was not from scratch so I would advise staying away from that. However, the sandwiches that I've had are quite delicious. The sandwiches are pre-made and cannot be modified which might peeve some people. They are kind of pricey to be pre-made. I will keep coming back for the coffee and atmosphere. Love it!

Great little cafe! Food selection great and there's something for everyone...the staff is nice and helpful when ordering. The food menu is in a weird spot...Maybe swap it where the coffee menu is...since coffee drinkers already know their preferred coffee drink. Crepes are so good and you can't go wrong with the eggs Benedict. The outdoor seating is dog-friendly and always filled in the summer time.

I give Red Twig 5 stars because I love their coffee! I haven't actually tried their pastries, crepes, etc., but whenever I'm in Edmonds, I will stop by this cafe to grab a latte. I've met friends for coffee here before because we like the atmosphere of the place as well. The staff are also pretty friendly. This place is definitely one of my favorite cafes!

Now what totally grosses me out about this place is the staff is always taking smoke breaks right outside and it drifts over to the patio and inside. They dont hire the most reputable people here. Kinda scummy.

I enjoy coming here early weekend morning to sit with a laptop, and eat breakfast. Try to get here a little early. It can get a little "cozy". There's a variety of different menu items for breakfast. Fresh desserts, pastries, muffins. The multi-grain bread is sooo yummy. I wish they sold loaves there, but is only available at the Edmonds Farmer's Market. The only thing I'm really impressed with is the espresso machine. The baristas are old school, not the 1 button deal. It's actual espresso art at it's best. You're left with a beautiful swirled leaf made of foam. I would have given Red Twig 4 stars if the prices were lower.

The employees seem checked out and not really interested in getting your food/drinks to you. We ordered two sandwiches, an iced mocha, a coke and a dessert. The guy who took our order seemed uninterested/bored. I waited for awhile at the counter for my iced mocha but they never made it. I gave up and went back to the table as they seemed so uninterested in helping me. They also never gave us our coke, and when they brought our sandwiches out, we had to ask for our dessert because they didn't put that up on the front counter or bring it out with our sandwiches. The salad dressing has changed. Used to be a yummy creamy dill dressing. Now it's raspberry something. Just not as good. The sandwiches where OK but the bread was kind of hard on the ends and dry. Not as good as the older menu. The Nanaimo bar was all sweaty on the top and just not really that appealing to look at although it tasted pretty good. Overall just not as good as it used to be and we just left without bothering with our drinks. No one there seems to really look or act like they care too much so we probably won't be back.

I really really really wanna keep loving this place... really I do... but the price of the food and the sporadic good service is not enough to keep me coming back. When I first stumbled upon Red Twig I was like "finally a chic little bistro in downtown Edmonds!" I was a patron for a good while... then all of a sudden quality dropped. I don't know if it's the place, the management, or a cook, but food I loved (like the savory smoked salmon crepe) went from being fabulous to being fabulously bad. To make matters worse the service is so varied... I noticed that they sure do love their regulars and will chat up with Mr. Old Guy With a Hat or Ms. Stay At Home Mom for a good minute, but a guy like me who wasn't a regular nor a newb was made to wait for idle chatter... I was bloody hungry!! suffice it to say... Red Twig has lost my business, I may give it a shot again... but it'd be out of desperation or because I don't want to eat at some of the more unsavory restaurants in downtown Edmonds.

Great place for meetings. It's a bit swankier than most coffee shops that I've been to. The cost of food and coffee is a little bit more pricey as well, but the taste is great. You can tell that they care a lot about presentation.

I used to work a block away from here and went there a few times. The coffee is sub-par, even Tully's and Starbucks and higher quality coffee, and is overpriced. The food portions were very small, not very good, but extremely overpriced - I got a turkey avocado sandwich there once, which took nearly 20 minutes to make, it was small, not very good, and $9.50 (this was 2 or 3 years ago). If you're in Downtown Edmonds, go to Walnut Street Coffee or Waterfront Coffee - both have high-quality coffee, but avoid Red Twig.

Had a horrible experience here this past weekend. Have been to the Red Twig previously about a half dozen times and they are usually pretty good, which is why I decided to return. I enjoy the order-up counter, as well as both the indoor and outdoor seating space. This weekend it was far to cold to eat outside, so we found a table inside. The restaurant was busy but in no means was packed. Ordered 2 espresso beverages, two pastries, and a bowl of oatmeal with the toppings on the side. 33 minutes later (NO JOKE) we kindly asked if our oatmeal would be ready soon (seriously, over a half hour for oatmeal?!?) and the lady said yes. When she brought it out about 5 minutes later, it came out with the toppings on top/all mixed in! AHHHHHHHH. WE promptly told her that it wasn't how we ordered it, and she snatched the food from our table and gave us a menacing glare. Like it was our fault?!?! She was incredibly rude about the error that was infact hers, not ours! I was truly surprised about her attitude. (Brunette younger woman with a nose piercing and a chin/lower cheek piercing. If I was the manager/owner of this place, I would train this woman to be respectful to her paying customers). A family of four sitting near us had the same problem with two out of the four of their orders also being made wrong/not following their requests, and the lady was just as rude and unaccommodating to them. So bizarre.

Eh. Decent coffee and a nice location. There are better places out there, but this spot isn't bad. I was unimpressed by the staff. The food was tasty, the service blah, the location excellent.

I've been here twice now, because I had hoped that my first experience was a rare bad one. Alas not. The service at the counter was attentive and friendly. The wait to get my drinks and food was ridiculous. Both visits, my latte was bitter and lukewarm. My food was virtually flavorless, cold, and extremely overpriced. I had high hopes for a place with such cute decor, but now I advise people not to waste their money eating here (especially not when downtown Edmonds has so many other cute cafe places).

It's the ambiance that takes it from 3 to 4 stars for me, although we just ordered to go from the counter. I'd love to come back and eat on the patio this summer... I had a cappuccino and a raspberry croissant. Cap was fine (nothing spectacular, about average) and the croissant was full of raspberry filling almost to the point of explosion, which was yummy but somewhat hazardous as a to go meal.

I've been on the hunt for a good tomato basil soup ever since Cafe Minnie's closed a few years back. So I was visiting some fam in Edmonds and decided to stop in at Red Twig for a late lunch. I saw tomato basil soup on the menu board and thought I'd give it a try. It was good. Really, really, really good. So good that I decided to ask if they were willing to give me the recipe (I really felt like my mom at that moment). Unfortunately, they do not give out their recipes which just gives me a reason to go back. The hubby had a turkey and avocado sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed. My only complaint was the bread that came with my soup wasn't my favorite. I would've preferred a roll.

Absolutely one of the best coffee houses in Edmonds. The staff (I'm talking about you Nick) is very friendly and extremely talented with their tasty and artsy hot drinks. Check out the photos of Nick's artistic design of my latte. Now let's talk about their delectable treats. We have ordered the macaroons and also the beautiful cupcakes in the glass display. We are making our way through their bakery selections. Always fresh, always delicious. A wonderful, relaxing space to spend with your friends OR bringing your mate on a date OR enjoing company with yourself. A great locaton in the heart of downtown Edmonds.

Red Twig is the BEST! I usually order some sort of latte, but I've also tried their drip coffee, and it is all superb! Not only is the coffee great, but the baristas are really friendly and down to earth. I love Nick, he makes great coffee and conversation. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for great coffee in a cool environment!

Service was friendly and fast. I had the salmon wrap and it was delicious tasting. Fish and ingredients were fresh and food was nicely presented. Interiors are well designed and gives off comfortable ambiance.

I always walk past this cute spot, and wanted to give it a try... Unfortunately it was beyond disappointing! We will not go back! We waited a long time as it seemed like our waiter forgot and once we got our food it was cold!

RIght in the heart of downtown Edmonds, Red Twig is a charming little cafe. There's dark wood decor with mirrors on the walls. Outdoor seating if you wish. You can see lot of sky from the large windows. Hipster servers and baristas with plaid shirts and full beards. Breakfast served til 1. Anti-Starbucks cup sleeve on the register. If I had only got coffee, this would've been 5 stars. I ordered a short mocha and it was one of the best mochas I've had. It was chocolatey without being overly sweet and the latte art (so pretty!) stayed intact until I was almost done with it! Even the server spilling a little bit on his walk to my table didn't mar it. Unfortunately, my lunch was a different story. I ordered the tuna melt and it took at least 15 minutes before it came out. My coffee was out in about 5-7 minutes. Upon closer look, it wasn't tuna at all-- they had accidentally given me the turkey melt. I brought the food back to up the bar to talk to them. It turned out the cashier had accidentally charged me for a turkey panini instead of the tuna melt. Heartfelt apology aside, there was no offer to refund me the money they had charged for the turkey sandwich. (Granted, it would've been $1.25 before tax- but I probably could've gotten a pastry or cookie with it.) It was another 15 minutes before the tuna melt came out. I was pretty excited (i.e., hungry) to eat it, but sadly... it was pretty bland. The sandwich was warm, but there were no panini marks on top of the bread and no crunch when you bit into it. It didn't seem like it was pepperjack cheese-- it had no bite at all! The pico de gallo must have been mixed in with the tuna, but again, no bite and no flavor. The vinaigrette on the salad was really tasty but the shreds of romaine alongside big spinach leaves made for an awkward salad to eat. It was overpriced for what they served me. I would totally come back for the coffee. Maybe next time I'll try a crepe or a pastry.

Red Twig is the best!! My friend and I were instantly attracted to Red Twig and made the best decision eating there! The service was exceptionally friendly and the cafe had a very chill/happy vibe. I ordered the breakfast crepe and omg it was amazing! I couldn't stop eating it and devoured the whole thing. My friend ordered the eggs rancheros and enjoyed it, but also made a note of how delicious the crepe was. Amazing food! Great service! Overall, highly recommended!

Coffee: had a Vanilla Latte and it was delicious! Best vanilla latte I've ever had. 5 stars for that Food: I had an California Benedict. Definitely on the pricey side but was also delicious. 4 stars cause of price Over all, would give it a 4.5. Service was amazing but a little too pricey for the food.

Red twig is our favorite. I'll take you if you want. We had a slim Jim and Mochas. The coffee roaster is in the store. You'll not find a smoother coffee any where. And the home made goodies will stay in your memory as a taste from heaven. The slim Jim was tasty and healthy. The salmon eggs Benedict is a favorite of my husband. He won't order anything else. I cannot say I have order anything I didn't enjoy. Guess that's why this place is a favorite. In the warmer months (that's been all this winter) there is out door seating where your well controlled pup is welcome. You can people watch and have a pleasant meal all at the same time. I would recommend to any one who wants and enjoyable experience.

I don't even know what to say about this place. I can't say anything about their food, I can't say anything about their coffee, and I can't say anything about the ambiance of their establishment - but what I can say is that there is no point in trying to contact the manager or the event manager to try and organize a private event at this establishment (even if their website clearly states that they are clearly available for parties and events redtwig.com/parties.html ). I have been overly patient in the past 3 weeks by sending emails and calling Red Twig numerous times. Each time I have called, the boy that answers the phone tells me a different time the manager or the event manager will be in. So I have called during their "available" times to speak with them. They apparently come in for 5 minutes and leave. I have left messages for them to call me back. It obviously has not happened. I have asked the person who picks up the phone to see if he can answer any of my questions, i.e. is a certain date/time available?, he cannot answer. He simply tells me a different time that they may or may not be in that day or the following day for ME to call them to provide THEM business. Red Twig is obviously in some shape or form incompetent.

Ok, so the dishes and baked goods are overpriced which is why I have never ordered food from them, but the coffee is excellent. Best coffee in town! The employees are super nice and down to earth. If you like good coffee made by nice people, this is place.

Pricey. But the food is delicious and the service is good. A lot of young, hipster kids working here, but they are super friendly and work really hard. The coffee is superbly- made. The latte foam was just right. If you're not a coffee fan, go with the chai. I just wish they had a little more floor space. It's a popular place and pretty crowded.

Great breakfast and lunch food! I usually get the BLAT which is fantastic and a hazelnut late which is also perfection. My fiance loves the Eggs Benedict. They also serve mimosa's, wine, etc. Breakfast is served til noon and lunch til 3, so don't miss it!

Good coffee here. I've always been pleased with the espresso that's been served. Nice and sweet! Food is decent, but nothing spectacular. Still nice to be able to eat a meal at a place that also serves wonderful coffee! The real win for freelance workers is that the wi-fi here is RIDICULOUSLY fast for a coffee shop. Great for getting some work done online. Lots of good table space as well... another win for freelance workers. There's only a couple of places to plug in a laptop, but if you bring a power splitter, you can easily reach the outlets from several tables (and you'll make friends with all the other freelancers)! If you need somewhere to get work done, this is a good bet. Order a few coffees, plug in, use the wifi, and grab a bite if you need.

I LOVE this place! There aren't too many cafe's around and this place is great! We come here to get their delicious crepes! They are always very good... I seriously crave them often! The staff is always friendly and they have good coffee/hot chocolate! My friend and I always come here and get the same thing! haha Recently we did branch out and try other items for breakfast and it was delish! I do wish that they were open later so I could come in after work but that is OK and not a deal breaker :) If you do come... seriously make your own crepe! I get chicken with pesto, spinach, and goat cheese... to die for! :)

I've eaten here several times in the past 7 months. Each time the food was excellent. If you don't mind not having full table service, try this place. The menu is varied. I ordered the California eggs Benedict which was terrific. Consistent great food. Folks are friendly too.

California Eggs Benedict was delicious and cooked perfectly with a delightful hollandaise. Raspberry Almond Crepes were creamy, lightly sweet and filled with preserves and slivered toasted almonds. Our red-eye coffees did not disappoint! The service was friendly and engaging and the ambiance warm and inviting.

This is what a coffee shop should be!! It sets the standard for all other coffee shops. The coffee is roasted in the store--a definite plus. And it was excellent. I tried the coconut cream pie upon the recommendation of the barista. It was not something I would normally order, but it was so luscious and creamy--definitely something to order again. Their other pastries and deserts looked great and homemade. Not your fancy French deserts--but better. Also, nice menu when you want breakfast and lunch. The baristas were excellent and friendly. Well decorated, and comfortable. Definitely relaxing to sit and have coffee and desert. I just wished I lived closer so could go back more often.

Wow, Red Twig is an awesome place to eat pancakes! Best pancakes in the world!!!! Blueberry, Banana, plains, it doesn't matter and with coconut syrup. They also have regular egg breakfasts and great crepes. The coffee is really tasty and the staff friendly and helpful. There is also a wonderful outdoor seating area in good weather.

This place is a hidden treasure. I ordered a soy chai tea latte and a turkey pesto and cream cheese crepe. I had to split the crepe because is was so big! Best chai I have ever had, hands down. One of the best savory creeps I have had in a long time. I will definitely be back.

I really like the atmosphere, location, and food here. It's great that they have healthy options as well as the treats a typical coffee shop would have. It's also nice that they offer almond milk for your coffee however they make mistakes with my coffee often. I'd rather go here for lunch rather than my morning coffee.

I entered the cafe because i was attracted to the look of their sign. I really like the atmosphere of a cafe a lot. It's nice and cozy. I ordered soy cappucino and it was pretty good. I think the customer service can improve a bit better buy I think it's decent. The price for coffee isn't bad, I actually think it's a decent price...but the food...its pretty pricy :/ I mean I understand the cafe has to compete with other cafe...but maybe it could be a bit cheaper. One thing I would like to suggest is that when the worker clean the table...make sure to clean it completely. There was a small puddle of coffee still left on the table even after the guy cleaned it. I think that was a bit..meh to me. But I think I'll give it a try for second time! I really like the interior finishes of this cafe

I'm going to say it's just ok. It's cute, the coffee is good, the baked goods are yummy, and the service is fine. So it's exactly what you expect. Would I go here again? Sure. Is it the top of my list? Nah.

Great place!! Not an extensive menu--especially for breakfast, but they have some nice surprises. The corned beef hash is especially awesome!! Coffee is excellent as well. Opens earlier than other downtown places on weekends--so big plus in my book.

I am not in downtown Edmonds very often which is too bad, as it almost feels like another city and state over there. Among the cute stores and cafes is Red Twig, which is a modern, fairly large space. I loved the large windows and fresh baked goods. I tried a turnover and it tasted like the ones I used to have growing up in Iowa and Illinois. The coffee was also very good. They also serve a lunch menu, but I did not have a chance to try. I wouldn't mind coming here more often, but it's just out of the way from where I live/work.

A bit overpriced and shi-shi. For the money we spent here to have breakfast, I could go somewhere with better food, service, choice, and parking. Nothing we've had here is bad; it's just not memorable. That's what leaves me irritable about the price.

Let me start by saying I'm from Seattle. This place has a very downtown vibe. I loved that! The baristas/waiters are very chill & welcoming. But when it came down to the reason I was there, lunch, no bueno. The food was ehh. Definitely not anything to rave about & it was pretty over priced. This place has so much potential, I hope I can re-write a review soon!

Red Twig used to be my favorite spot in Edmonds to grab breakfast. They are located on the main street in Edmonds. There are a few parking spots, in front of the restaurant, and most times you will need to find street parking. They have an outdoor patio with umbrellas for great outside summer seating. The inside, there are not many tables for 3-4 people, and often times the loft style space can be cold. Unfortunately, the service is too slow for us to be going back. SERVICE: Poor However, if you order an entree, it can take a long time. We arrived today to a half empty restaurant and waited over 50 minutes for our food. Unfortunately we have had similar issues with prompt service on our last several visits. You pre-pay for your food, so there's no option to cancel your order and leave. FOOD: Inconsistent, but Mostly Good The made a few changes to their egg burrito not for the better, but the crepes are still fantastic. (It's a toss up favorite between the cinnamon and sugar and the jam and almonds.) The coffee is always delicious as are the pastries. I've enjoyed their scones and their chocolate chip cookies. PRICES: High for what you get. The prices are on the higher side versus the other options you will find in Edmonds, like the Rusty Pelican. If you want a quick breakfast, opt for coffee and a pastry. Otherwise, bring a paper and make sure you are not starving so you can survive the wait.

I've been coming to Red twig for a few years now. The coffee is usually very well made. The crepes on the other hand have been a thumbs down lately. They are pricey on top of it too! I got a Nutella crepe yesterday, and yet again the crepe is hardly filled with Nutella and I feel like all I was eating was a plain crepe. It's overly cooked too... Crepes aren't supposed to be crispy :/

Used to be my favorite restaurant -- would travel all the way from Kirkland for it. I don't know if it is under new management or what but it has gone completely downhill. They stopped carrying the only meal I loved. Smoked salmon crepes!!! Tried other meals and everything is just overpriced and mediocre. Not the mention the coffee. If you want good coffee, go somewhere else.

I came to the red twig for the first time today. I had fairly high expectations b/c of the cute modern decor and the amount of people that were there on a Tuesday morning. I ordered the classic eggs Benedict and while the eggs were very nicely poached the rest of the dish was very disappointing. The hollandaise sauce had WAY too much lemon in it and wasn't very creamy, honestly it was the worst hollandaise sauce I have ever had, and the english muffin was very dry. The potatoes on the side were also very dry and chewy. However the coffee was pretty good, the bite of my moms breakfast burrito that I had was tasty and I enjoyed the outdoor seating. Was ok, but don't think I would come back

I love this place for coffee/tea and pastries! Their food might not be my favorite (I think they're trying too hard to be edgy and different with their menu) but their latte art and yummy sweet treats make up for it!
