I recommend the Grange cheeseburger - fresh ingredients and juicy, good quality beef. This burger was scrumptious. They also had good helpings of homemade french fries and awesome coffee. The inside interior is rustic and very homey. It almost looks like at some point it was a house. Very charming. Wait staff was attentive and cordial. Ive been here a few times and I will continue to visit this amazing café.

Redeemed: When we first arrived at 9:50 on a Sunday morning The Grange was about 75% full. Busy, but not packed. There was no one at the podium taking down names. No big deal I thought - someone will be up shortly. For the next 10 minutes all of us in the waiting area watched as every single employee blatantly ignored us. Not one person came up to say "someone will be with you in a moment." Nada, nothing. We started to joke that we were literally invisible. I was going to go do a mime joke on the fake wall that was obviously separating us. I was already searching for the next closest breakfast place. My thought was if this is how we are treated at the beginning - what would the rest of the experience look like? Finally, someone came to the podium to start taking names. Keep in mind this is the first person to talk to the patrons in over 10 minutes. Not figuratively, literally 10 minutes. Once seated, our server was very gracious. Pancakes came out quick and were tasty. She stayed on top of our drinks and really turned around an extremely negative first impression.

I really wanted to like this place. We tried it for lunch on a Wednesday around 1:00 and chose it over our other Duvall options based on a 4-star rating from 80 reviews. Food was good, not spectacular. Service was painfully slow. The server was definitely more interested in tending the outside tables than she was in taking care of the inside customers. For me first impressions are a big deal and while our server was friendly and the food was tasty, I didn't feel well taken care of. I may consider visiting The Grange again sometime for dinner but won't be back for lunch.

I really only come here for one thing: their grass-fed burger, which is amazing! When I want a fantastic burger, this is my all-time favorite place to go. They have this garlic sauce for it, which is outstanding. My only beef (no pun intended) is that this burger can be really inconsistent, so I wish it would be more consistent (I'm still giving 5 stars since it's so amazing though, like my favorite burger in the world amazing!). Also, this place has mostly local organic food (we know the owners brother, who manages Oxbow farm down the street). I think it's wonderful that they try hard to have integrity with the food they serve! I know it's not cheap to source local and organic producers, but it makes me feel better to know that I'm not eating a bunch of corn-fed, pesticide-laden crap! Bravo to the owners for sourcing local/organic- that can't always be easy or cheap, especially in the PNW winters!

Still really like this place but had to drop a star because they just have such slow service! Most of the food is super good. I love the french toast, the BLT and the fresh, hand cut fries. The biscuits are straight up terrible and not even edible. The coffee is good and if you order a diet coke, you get it in a can which I like. Today I got there at noon and the waitress got us drinks right away. But then she took 20 minutes to come back and ask us what we wanted to eat. Took another 30 minutes to get my french toast and my husband's burger. We had our baby with us and it was almost 1.5 hours start to finish just to get lunch. Something to be mindful when you come here, food is good but service is SLOW. Today was the first time I ordered the aforementioned gross biscuit. I only ate one small bite of it, because it was so nasty. I think the waitress knew the biscuits are gross because when she was clearing up she didn't ask me if I wanted a to-go box for the biscuit. Normally a waitress if they notice you didn't eat something would ask if everything was okay. Not this one. Not getting that again.

Poor poor! Ate here once before. It was good. 2nd time horrible, food was cold for a hot sandwich, frys rightout of the fridge. Too bad. Server was indifferent. NEVER AGAIN.

How does this place get lower reviews than Pickle Time or Duvall Thai???!!! Yes they are a bit pricey and I could care less they are "organic" but the food is really good with great service and the best in town for small kids.

When I order eggs benedict, I pierce an egg. If the golden yoke flows silkily into rich hollandaise to create flavor-magic, I sigh with satisfaction. Usually, I hardly notice the ham, muffin or hash browns. Not so at The Grange. Yesterday, the silken yoke joined a rich hollandaise, flowing over a caramelized slice of ham extending generously over the sides of a flaky homemade biscuit. The hash browns, not to be outdone, were golden nuggets of seasoned potato with crisp outsides and tender centers. There were NO after-thoughts on my plate. Each treasure was to be savored. My husband and son enjoyed their selections equally - and we enjoyed each other, in a warm atmosphere surrounded by an eclection of antiques. Our server, Anna, was perfect. At the end, we shared a frozen concoction of huckleberries and coconut that beats any sorbet or gelato I've ever had. The Grange in Duvall, Wa. My new favorite hands-down.

DELICIOUS! We've been there twice for breakfast/brunch and both times the food was high quality and tasty. Service is a bit slow, but I guess that's how it is in a small town. I ordered take out one time and none of the staff would acknowledge me. They would see me then turn around and go back to drying silverware or cleaning menus rather than greet a customer or ask if they've been helped, at which time i had not. I'll give the teens a break, I worked at restaurants for 7 years starting at14 years old and I'm assuming they just didn't know what to do. Will return again.

May 2015. Charming, Cottage Home Style setting & decor. Light, Bright & Roomy. Inviting eclectic furniture to sit at, inside or outside. Casual dining. Good Menu choices. Really Good food. Generous portions. Service was not fast or slow; just an even relaxed pace. We weren't in a hurry & weren't rushed off. Had breakfast here with 5 other family members. All satisfied with this dining experience - we returned here on our way home from day's outing to have dessert & coffee. Recommend.

We really like this restaurant. It is so quaint...it reminds me of Nellys from Little House on the Prairie, lol. My husband loves the burgers here and I love the fries! There is not a lot of variety on the menu however and it is priced a bit high. The service is usually good and we have never been dissatisfied with our food. My favorite time to eat here is during the summer when the deck is open. With the trees all around and the little twinkle lights it reminds me of being in Disneyland at night in the summer.

Never disappointed at The Grange. Little upscale as restaurants go in our town. They especially use local organic produce and products from the valley here. Highly recommended.

Im giving this place a so so. The place was nice. I liked the outdoor seating. We came in on a saturday for breakfast. Breaksfast choices were very limited. There was only 1 option for an omlet. I asked if i could create my own omlet and was told no. For $10.50 i got the 2 egg breaksfast, wish potatoes, bacon and toast. First they gave me hardly any potatoes. My husbands dish had twice as many. The bacon was 2 thin strips that seemed like they were microwaved. The toast was one piece of bread cut in half. Our server was very nice. I just felt like for the price, there should have been more. Not having any other options for omlets really is dissapointing. I wish they would change that. I want to support local businesses, but i feel they are over priced.

I stopped in after a long drive with my husband. I ordered a Caesar salad with the flatbread with salmon as a meal. I ordered 2 cosmos which were $24! That was a little steep for the amount of alcohol! I guess I should of asked when happy hour started. Probably won't be back but the food was good just not for the price.

First time here with the family for brunch, we made reservations ahead since we heard it can be quite busy on the weekends. What a great spot in charming duvall. I can see why this place is busy on the weekends and in the summer time. We ordered a little of everything on the menu and everyone was very happy, especially the 3 yr old. The portions sizes are perfect and the bread is wonderful. We even spent a little time in the play area after breakfast which is nice. I read many previous experiences with slow service, but have to say we were in and out with in just an hour on a busy sunday; we will definately be back especially when the back deck opens up.

Since this place is featured in the Seattle best breakfasts magazine we thought we would take a peek. We LOVE breakfast food and all natural food so we thought this place was amazing. I ordered iced coffee & biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were cooked to perfection and the iced coffee was delicious. I was happy to see the iced coffee was brewed in duvall as well. I love supporting local companies. My bf ordered a grilled cheese & 2 mimosas. We split a mimosa because they're pretty strong. Which is a good thing. Not only was our food delicious, the atmosphere was so adorable and country styled (with a little more class). We sat on the patio with perfect not too cold and not too warm weather. We were disappointed to know they only serve my favorite dish (eggs Benedict) on the weekend. Although that was our only disappointment. We asked why it's only served on the weekends and our waiter explained it's too time consuming and wasteful due to this place being less popular during the week. Which made sense. Overall, we will definitely be back. Possibly tomorrow since it will be the weekend and I want that eggs Bennie!!

My husband and I have been here 3-4 times, once for brunch. It is wonderful! Fresh, local and organic fare that tastes incredible :) The mushroom pizza is my favorite followed by the wild greens salad. The staff is great and the restaurant is very family friendly!

Love the ambiance, but the food is sub par. Especially for the price. They were out of the salad I ordered. How do you run out of salad?? My husbands Reuben (which came highly recommended by the staff) was so tough it was nearly inedible. The server was the most unfriendly person I have ever been waited on by--and I was a server for years, so I know the ability to put on a show. This guy could not hack it. He had zero personality. Obviously the establishment had no control over their patrons actions, initially, but the woman who proceeded to change her baby's diaper on the empty table right next to us, thoroughly grossed me out. If I was the restaurant owner she would have been asked to leave--even for the health code issue alone would have been enough. The veggie sandwich--ugh. Even the most basic cook knows that you have to slice a portobello mushroom, because the cap becomes too tough to bite through after it's grilled/heated. It was the main ingredient in my sandwich and I had to remove it because I couldn't bite through it. Fifty bucks is WAY too much for a lunch--let alone a hugely disappointing one. One upside--the Bloody Mary was good. But it's pretty hard to botch a Bloody Mary.

We started visiting the Grange Cafe' almost 5 years ago when we discovered they were kid friendly and served a tasty brunch. Since then we have been back many times for both Sunday brunch and dinners. We appreciate that much of the menu is organic and/or locally sourced and the toddler play area means mom and dad get to actually have a conversation together for a few minutes while waiting for meals to arrive.

The Grange cafe is a very delightful and refreshing experience! Carlos, our server, was so enthusiastic; the food pleasing to all senses; and the ambiance was charming. The soup of the day, lentil vegetable, was superb as was the fresh spinach linguine. Little play area for my son was a bonus!

We stopped in on a Sunday evening. Not too crowded but only one waiter so service was a little slow to start. I expected it based on other Yelp reviews and the other guests appeared to need more time. No problem. Once we got started, the service was excellent! Carlos had perfect timing. We ordered a flatbread to share as a starter then ended up ordering the squash raviloi and the mac and cheese (both small plates) as entrees. Everything was excellent. Nothing was rushed nor did we wait long between courses. The wine was terrific as was the brownie sundae we shared for dessert. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a great experience in our new home town!

Neat and charming place, in the small town of Duvall. Stopped here twice now, once for breakfast in 2010 for breakfast and once for dinner, this past Sunday. Service is excellent, professional, and represents well. The theme of the restaurant is very farm like, with tons of cool decorations, mainly of cows. La Grange is a big supporter of their farms, that said, they ensure that they use fresh corn fed beef, fresh veggies and fruits. We were a party of 7, and ordered a variety of entrees. The majority ordered the pot roast, and the burger, both which were cooked well. Tender beef, cooked as requested, medium well, and still tasting the moist beef once bitten. The wine sauce used on the pot roast was light, flavorful, and not acidic as most places offer, which is a dead give away of marinating the wrong with vinegar. The bacon used on the burger, was crispy, and with a potent taste of apple wood, topped with a pretzel soft bun, simply delicious. This was a great pick, specially for a Sunday night. The feeling of a home meal, and small town charm was a plus. Looking forward to returning in a few months. Thanks La Grange! Excellent place to meet with family, or take the family when that holiday tensions gets to be too much!!!! If food does not do it, then ask about their wine, and beer, also wonderful!

I honestly don't know how anyone can give this place 4 or 5 stars. Third time was not a charm. I've held off reviewing this restaurant because I keep thinking I'm missing something, but that's not the case. The children's corner with toys and plushy animals strewn across the floor should have been a red flag. There are not many choices in Duvall and we often eat the the Duvall Grill and Pub (excellent food and not to be confused with The Duvall Tavern), but for some odd reason we decided to give this place another shot. First off, I love the idea of farm to table, even though I think the phrase is a bit exaggerated in it's use here. We started with the soup of the day, coconut curry garbanzo bean. It was not soup, it was a cup of bland garbanzo beans with no broth whatsoever. So not soup, just a cup of beans. We split a grilled cheese, it was bland and boring at best even though they use Beecher's cheese. Nothing special about it or the overcooked fries that were cold and hard. Speaking of hard, I've never had stiff greasy sausage links before. These were just unappetizing and tasted like they had been cooked a while ago and then warmed up in a microwave, I'm just speculating though. My one last gripe, I'd think a restaurant of this supposed caliber should have Campari in it's bar, not the case. I instead ordered a decent bloody Mary. Will not be going back, the food has been so-so every time we have patronized but this time it was truly blah.

Just had lunch at the grange NEVER AGAIN! There were 2 tables plus ours. It took OVER an hour to get our food. It was good...BUT no attention from the waiter I had requested a different bread with my breakfast, I was told it would be extra. Low class The fact I didn't want potatoes didn't warrant a refund. Poor training. Terrible! He was too busy talking with a table. We sat another half hour before we got the bill. I could unerstand it they were busy but they weren't. So disappointed Duvall needs good restaurants This isn't one of them!

We were babysitting for some friends who live in Duvall and wanted to grab a bite to eat for dinner. Positives: They have plastic sippy cups for kids drinks (awesome since we forgot one for the 19-month-old in our charge). The tempura-fried mushrooms were amazing, with a great balance of sweet and spicy seasoning. Negatives: The place wasn't very busy, but we had a hard time getting the attention of our waiter a few times. I ordered hot tea and the pot of hot water was enough for one cup, but I wasn't offered any more hot water and I struggled to get in that I wanted some when the waiter was at the table. My ice water was never refilled either. And dirty plates from our appetizer sat on the table for almost 10+ minutes, even as other staff walked by. We ordered The Grange pizza (sausage, bell peppers, olives, and arugula. We were brought a pepperoni pizza. When I asked if it was the right one, the waiter instantly realized his mistake and took it back. However, we had to wait for a new pizza to be cooked (another 15-20 minutes?). It came out barely done - the middle of the pizza still had very soggy dough. The outer crust was pretty good and mostly cooked and I could tell that under normal circumstances this might be a really good pizza, but ours was just okay.

We ate here for lunch and it was delicious! We all loved the decor and the service was awesome. They are very kid friendly and even have a play area. I did not eat out on the back porch but checked it out and it was adorable. Loved it and will definitely be back.

In a word, amazing! One of the best dining experiences I've had in a while (& I enjoy going out). The food was locally sourced, organic & prepared with obvious care & love. Our waiter was a joy & a delight! When we neared the end of our meal I didn't want to leave. A secret dining gem hiding in Duvall!

As a regular of the Grange I was disappointed to learn that things are changing in the kitchen. Most notably the signature chips aren't going to be part of dinner anymore, and the other items are no longer consistently good. We had the burgers the other night and the patties were dwarfed by the bun. For $14 you should be able to count on getting a great burger. We are hoping things settle down in the kitchen and get back to the consistently great food we have come to count on. On the plus side, the week night crew of Ashley and Charlie are terrific!

So I don't know much about Duvall.... this was pretty much my first trip (thru) here... but I had heard a lot about The Grange Cafe and their breakfast so we made a pit stop on the way to Baker Lake. Worth the stop! and PS, Duvall is actually kind of cute, who knew? Stopped in for a weirdly timed late lunch, yelp had their hours listed as closed between 2.30-5 during the week and we ran in at 2.25 fully intending to beg for a to-go order to just try something (anything) off the menu - and the server happily greeted us and offered us a table with no mention of closing time, so maybe that needs to be updated. In any case - cute & clean, friendly staff, and good food. We split the pea salad and the BLT (which they accommodated our request to swap the bread for focaccia, if focaccia is on a menu how does any other bread stand a chance?! even if the spelling does look weird) and both were yummy. Accompanying fries were tasty, and bonus points for the organic ketchup! All in all, very glad we stopped - and I still need to go back for breakfast.

Wow, how bad was this place. I should start with saying that the local, organic, Eco-friendly food was a huge plus. My wife and I cook next to every meal at home so when we eat out we prefer it's better done then our own cooking. However, the abilities of who ever put this food together was awful and feel free to reach out to me if you would like some help. I ordered a chicken and Brie sandwich off of the lunch menu. The chicken was so under seasoned and dry it tasted like it was seasoned with straight pepper and cooked a couple days ago then re-heated in the microwave. The bread was heavily buttered which I can only assume was done to over compensate that the bread was toasted on both sides which just tore up my palette. Finally, the fries were dry as a bone (which is hilarious since they are fried!). This all cost me $13.50. For that much I could eat at equally earth conscious places such as Homegrown or Tipsy Burger Bar, which are both much tastier for the price. I'll also mention my wife got some sort of hash, which was bland, and the potatoes were way too dry as well. If you are absolutely starving you may like this place. If not, go to Redmond...or anywhere else.

I was charged $2.50 extra to substitute fries to a salad with my club sandwich. That seemed quite high to me. I ordered my cherry pie (heated) and the crust was doughy, stale and very unappealing. I just ate the cherries out of it. What shocked me most was that my bill was $29.39 for a club sandwich, salad instead of fries, pie and ice cream and tap water. I wrote a letter to the manager about my poor experience and never heard from him.

Quick tip to fellow Duvallians (Duvallans???)...next pizza night, order here and get a better quality pie at a cheaper price. Since I've lived here, the Grange has the best pizza in town, and is by far the best bang for your pizza buck in Duvall. The crust is a thinner style with a nice chew to it. The cheese and ingredients are good quality too, especially the veggies. Oddly enough I've only been here a few times for dinner (I hear breakfast is where they shine). So I can only speak to that menu. They do comfort food and do it well. The pot roast, for example, is tender and tasty. The gravy complements nicely w/o taking away from the beef or veggies. Speaking of the veggies, they are not overly cooked and mushy like some lesser pot roasts. The mashed potatoes a good rustic vibe to them. And speaking of rustic vibe, it goes w/o saying that the building has the same vibe too. The tables are well set and the atmosphere is your typical charming cow-town decor...hanging farm tools, nostalgic tin signs...etc. the building itself has a nice touch of history so that adds. The service is efficient and friendly too. They know their menu well and genuinely speak highly of the, chefs, the taste, and quality of ingredients. All and all some good dining experiences here...can't wait to finally try the breakfast!

Here for a wedding in Duvall and needed a quick bite. This place was great! I had a burger, kids had Mac and cheese and father in law had French toast. All were awesome and service was great! Added bonus was a real sippy cup for the little ones and a great play are for them too. Recommended for anyone who has kids.

We came with some friends for brunch on a Sunday. The decor is cute and perfect for the setting. It doesn't feel forced, but perfect for a neighborhood brunch place. The prices seem a little high in comparison to the decor. The main courses are ok, because you do get a good bit of food, but certain things feel weird. For instance, the sides . . . $4 for a single sausage sitting sadly on an overly large plate? For the french toast . . . seasonal fruit that was listed with it was just 4 cherries. Not even Rainier cherries, just the regular Bing ones. I loved my omelette, though. The eggs were fluffy enough, even with all of the toppings in there. (It was the Joe one.) You can substitute the toast for a biscuit, which I recommend because it is yummy even without their vanilla butter. The potatoes that come with it are good, but a little greasy. Service . . . pathetic. We had people come back multiple times to see if we wanted something other than water, and then nothing. We hardly saw anyone, and the food took a long time to come out, even with many empty tables around. We would go back if in the area because, let's face it, there's not much around there, and the food was good. I just wish the prices and service were better.

Delicious, high quality food at not-unreasonable prices. There is a great kids' corner loaded with toys to entertain the little ones while waiting for food and the oh-so-slow grown ups to finish eating. Great service and lots of locally sourced options too.

This is a warm, inviting restaurant. I especially like it for breakfast and we've always enjoyed good meals and fine service. I dined here once for lunch out on the patio by myself and the staff were so nice, it wasn't a busy day and so they were happy to let me linger there for ages after I finished and offered to refill my coffee until I was completely awash in caffeine and couldn't drink any more :) We had dinner there once, it was a tad expensive but the food was well prepared. I was sort of dubious about the apple pie...I think everything there is homemade but the texture and taste was rather grocery-store-ish, didn't have that "grandma's apple pie" tang to it. But, everybody's recipe is different, I guess. All in all we like this restaurant very much indeed. I would gladly eat breakfast there every week if I could!

Since I was in the Duvall I decided to give this place a try. Now I wish I didn't go there in the first place. Service wasn't the best, and there was no taste in the food at all. They charged me $8 for 3 pancakes. The Original pancake house gives you three for about 3 or 4 dollars. Never coming back

The Grange Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants. It's especially great to go in the summer when the weather is warm and you can sit on the back patio. We've been many times since they opened, and have never had a bad meal there. My husband swears by the free-range roast chicken, and I love the mushroom and onion pizza and the vegetarian eggs benedict. The biscuits are amazing! The service and food have been great every time we went. My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is that it would be nice to see a little more variety on the menu, and more vegetarian options, but I understand that with a small staff it's hard to provide a big range of menu items. Also I still really miss the lavender French and lavender lemon drop cocktails they used to have. Other than that, A+!

  • Zach G.

The Grange Cafe is good, but it can be better and earn a fifth star. For breakfast, I usually eagerly order up the biscuits and gravy, but each time the side of meat (bacon or sausage) are really lacking, like two tiny slices of bacon, or one sausage. I'd like a bit more meat considering the price of the meal. I've only been here once for dinner. I had the pot roast and man, it's good. Service is okay. They could use 1-2 more people at times. To wrap it up, they've got delicious food on the menu but I think they can do a bit better.

Disappointed In Duvall We drove miles out to Duvall on a recent trip to Seattle, hoping to experience small town charm and local food at its best. While Duvall and the interior of the Grange Cafe itself are full of charm the food was a big disappointment. Undercooked eggs, dried out potatoes and choppy service left us underwhelmed and regretful of our choice. If The Grange Cafe wants people to come out of their way for breakfast, they need to make it remotely worth the trip.

I recently moved to Duvall and have found "the" place to dine in the area. The Grange is an unexpected treasure in a town this small. Atmosphere: quaint, country feel, with a touch of class. small, but open, you feel as if you have enough room to enjoy the company you are with but close enough to chat with a neighboring table. Service: there are usually 1-2 waitstaff and they run their bottoms off. the service is friendly and warm, with just the right amount of that small town charm. they are always there with a drink refill or an offer to help in any way. Food: YUM! I have been in for breakfast on the weekend and dinner during the week and on a weeknight (are you sensing an obsession here?). B Breakfast portions are huge and the food is amazingly fresh. Home made breads, crispy potatoes, and just enough options that you have hard time deciding. Dinner menu includes meat dishes, pasta, pizza, and the best burger around (confirmed by two separate sources). Their specials seem to hit the right note of comfort food meets innovation. Desert is something you should definitely save room for. One night when we were there, the chef made a deep fried bread pudding. It was a cross between bread pudding and deep fried ice cream. Brilliant! Noise level: have to say this is the one area that is hit or miss. there is a small play area in the corner. most parents keep their children at a decent decibel level. some clueless parents seem to think everyone in the place enjoys the glass shattering sounds coming from their offspring. Go a little later in the evening and it seems to die down. Give this place 2 thumbs up! Will keep going back for more.

We are new to the area and heard a lot of great things about this place. It didn't disappoint!!! I had the pancakes and a side of sausage. Most amazing breakfast in a long time. The service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend it! The fact that everything is local is a plus too. We will be trying dinner there really soon.

Husband and I split the challah French toast and the pulled beef sandwich and they were both outstanding. You can tell they use quality, local ingredients. Don't hesitate to check this place out for a breakfast head and shoulders above the average weekend breakfast joint. The only downside was the didn't split our check for us (Which is understandable. As a server myself that is ANNOYING) and I didn't realize until 3 days later waking from a dead sleep (seriously) that my friend who paid his portion of the check with card didn't tip enough. d'oh!

This is a charming place for breakfast. The food is from local farms, made fresh and quite delicious. It's a great place for children. They have a small corner where children can play or read books while they are waiting for their meal or while they are waiting for their grown up to finish their meals :) The only downer was the initial service. We went one Sunday and it wasn't busy but it still took 10-15 minutes to get seated. Once we were seated the waitress was very friendly and checked in on us a few times. The food took a bit longer than expected to get to us though. The prices are high for breakfast.

Recently visited with friends and it was really good. All fresh and delicious with excellent service. Will go back for sure.

Five stars for their bread pudding. When I crave bread pudding, this is my go to place! They top it off with homemade caramel sauce and ice cream. The bread pudding is simple (no raisins) and delish.

food is *pretty good*. liked the gravy breakfast. kids play area (toys need washing). attentive service. both times we went, the same server wasn't too flexible with order (eg: sandwich comes with fries, which we asked to omit only to hear, three times, that fries come with the sandwich. Yes, we know that and still don't want them. Seriously. No fries. But, if back in Duvall, I'd try it again.

This is our favorite "After Skiing at Steven Pass" restaurant. The kids love this place. Margot loves that it is very relaxed - a low key, quiet, small town restaurant and the food is probably the best you will find between Redmond and Steven's Pass. Kid friendly. In terms of food, it gets our vote for best Caesar Salad on the east side. Mains are typically great - although once in a while you may get something not up to the same level as the rest. Desserts are outstanding - we've sometimes made the trip to Duvall just for the bread pudding.

Stopped by for a piece of Marion berry pie a la mode and coffee and both were excellent. The pie was a generous wedge packed full of the freshest Marion berry filling accompanied by delicious Caffe Vita coffee.

. The place has a truly hometown local feel. Well appointed and clean. Decided to give the place another visit after a mediocre first visit. Menu is limited, which sometimes is a good thing; do less, better. But not the case here. They do everything 'just ok'. Service is 'ok'. Food prep, 'ok'. Food quality, 'ok'. Prices are higher than you would expect for the quality and the service. Not sure about revisiting.

The first time I ate at this place last spring I thought the food was awesome (and I mean AWESOME!) but the service was slow and the waitress seemed confused. The meal was so good that I didn't even care about the service (yes, that good). During the meal, I overheard the chef saying to another table that he was leaving to travel. I went a few weeks later and the food was awful, the service even worse and I thought maybe they were just making some adjustments. I went a third time in the Fall and it was one of the worst experiences I've had in terms of both service and food. No way will I go a fourth time.

The owner contacted us for another shot at this place. However, some experiences are so bad who would want another go-round? To add insult, by reading the owner's responses to the other recent negative feedback, she seems to think the negative reviews are due to something other than truly crappy experiences at her place. And therein lies the problem: She really doesn't believe her own customers when they tell her to her face that her restaurant's food, service, etc are awful. She insinuates that something more sinister is taking place. Sorry. Your place is just lame. Nothing more than that. When the last 3 reviews of your place are 1-star, you'd think you'd take note and wake up, rather than sling excuses. Get a clue.

Best meal we've had in years -- and we travel a lot. We had chipotle potato and corn soup, frenched pork chop, Summer vegetarian plate, and ginger mojito all were superior. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked -- tender and moist. The summer veggie dish (lentils, root vegetables, leeks) was perfection with nice garlic flavor. No room for dessert but were sorely tempted. Good local produce and good service. Will definitely return soon!

I love this place! It's so quaint and intimate. It has a lot of small town charm. Things I love about it: - Great atmosphere - Live music sometimes - Lots of local and organic foods - A great place for your little ones to play! They have a whole corner full of toys to keep them occupied while you converse with your guests. - Cute outdoor patio - AWESOME bread pudding! Never was a fan, but I have come back here several times just for this dish. You must try it! - Very friendly and personable staff. You really feel like they appreciate your business. Nothing to complain about here! I'm a fan.

I swore I would never come back to the Grange again, but I am SO glad that I gave it a second chance! While my first time was disappointing and bland, this time was perfection! I will only speak praise about this restaurant in the future! My dinner--made from fresh, seasonal produce and meat from local farms and ranches in the Snoqualmie Valley--was the BEST meal I've eaten at a restaurant in a long time. The flat iron steak was so tender it was like butter melting in my mouth and the butternut squash ravioli tasted exactly like the ideal version I have been trying to conjure up at home for the past year. We finished off our scrumptious meal with a homemade marionberry pie. I could not have made any of these dishes better myself!

Service is friendly but slow; food is AMAZING - wait? What wait? This food is delicious!! ...makes you forget about the wait once you taste it...

We thought this place was great. We had a baby and a 3-year-old in our group, and the wait staff were very accommodating and helpful with both. Plus, there was a giant play area that not only kept the 3-year-old happy, but allowed the adults to focus on eating together. Three of us split two of their specialty burgers, which were absolutely delicious, as were the fries that came alongside. A couple of others in our group weren't so thrilled with their entrees, but they said that their salads and pie a la mode for dessert were delicious. My only complaint was that the prices were a bit high. A single beer was $7, and the cobbler and pie dessert was $14!

The best thing about eating out at the Grange is the ambiance. Half country store, half farmhouse kitchen, it has really found its home in sleepy little Duvall. Just charming. My niece and nephew (8 and 6) want to add that they love the Grange because it has a real pizza oven, a good kids' menu, and the fries taste like real potatoes. (They're house cut). My only complaint is that the service really took way too long, especially with kids at the table. The owner(?) came over and apologized and explained that they were short staffed, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. The kids were pretty entertained with the rolling thunder, lightning and torrential downpour that accompanied our wait, anyway. My dad, brother in-law and I all had the Grange Burger and agreed that the beef was the best quailty we've all had in a long time. I know they use local beef (from Thundering Hooves I think?) that is hormone and anti-biotic free and grass fed. The patties were so thick it was hard to eat, but totally worth the mess and the steep pricetag ($14). We were too full for dessert but I would love to return and try out one of their homemade pies or a rootbeer float this summer when they open up their back garden patio. Can't wait to try more!

Been eating at the Grange every few months since they opened. Every time the food was excellent and most times the service was dreadful. Can't understand why the service is so slow. Takes forever to get a seat, coffee, the food, the bill when the place is empty. My friend ordered the worst martini he ever had. They don't have a bartender so I'd stick with wine or beer. The food really is yummy. It's a shame the service keeps me and others away. Last time the place was empty with a waitress running around doing who knows what while we waited for a table. Two other couples gave up and left.

This week in Duvall is support your local business week, so we decieded to try the Grange cafe again. We had given up on this place quite a while ago, the food was just ok and the food service was very slow, the frantic owner running around looking stressed made it hard to relax. Today was quite the opposite, the food was wonderful, the service was top notch and our food came out in a timely manner. It looks like they have hired a real manager to run things. The Grange seems to have really turned things around I will be back soon!!

Environment/Service: 4 Stars Food: 3 Stars Booze: 4 Stars Summary: A go-to spot for good (great?) food in an underserved Duvall area with local flavor and a great environment. Environment/Sevice: The environment is beautiful. A converted building from threequarters of a century ago, restyled into a quaint and attractive restaurant. A kids mini-play area in the rear and a wonderful shaded patio area in back for hot days with a great breeze. The wait staff is helpful but new, attentive but can be a bit forgetful, not a highlight, but give them a chance and they'll come through for you. Food: I struggled with rating this part, on some nights, we've had 4 star food, some nights, 2 star. They've gone through several head chefs and their menu is a bit predictable for repeat customers, but better than average for Duvall. They food quality is amazing, they source as much as possible from local producers in the valley, so their salads are coming from only a couple of miles away. Some veggie options, good fish options and usually a steak/pork special or two to lighten things. Booze: Their taps are local (the last time we went, all of their beers were from Georgetown Brewery, a south Seattle producer of great beers) and their winelist represents local choices with a good variety. They also can pour the harder stuff if that fits your fancy, but I would recommend a cold Manny's Pale Ale from SoDo or a cold Horse Heaven Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from Chateau St. Michelle instead.

I love the food here. It's all organic and they list on the wall all the local businesses and farms they get their products from. They make their own baked goods at the Greatful Bread Bakery in Seattle. Delicious breads! The service is rather slow here, but they are making healthy foods, not nuking frozen, wholesale restaraunt foods. Decor is very retro, down to earth and makes you feel like you're at Caroline's Restaraunt from Little House on the Prairie. I love this place except......(you knew this was coming).... quite a few of the chairs are very wobbly. I'm so afraid they are just going to collapse and that's very scary for someone my age. Also, they have a play area for kids and you know what a lot of parents are like; they let their kids go crazy in the play area, disrupting everyone's meal and having us swear we'll never go back. The food is too good at this restaraunt for them to resort to a play area to get families to come in. If your child is not able to sit at the table for the length of a meal, they should be left with Grandma or a sitter.

Most establishments would have responded with an apology, instead you try to have my review removed by accusing me of targeting your staff? Sorry to break it to you, but I have no personal vendettas and actually still hope the establishment does well. If I didnt why would I have optimistically come back 4 times? Im certainly not in the habit of spending $200+ over the course of 4 visits to justify a poor review. Im only sharing my opinion and experiences while dining there, if theres an issue with staffing at the Grange cafe then thats their problem to address proffesionally in house, not unproffessionally, online via scapegoat. Im not going to be vilified, guilted or bullied into withdrawing my post because you dont like what I have to say, thats the whole purpose of this site.

Born and raised in DTown (or Duvall), this is a place that feels reminiscent of how my little hometown used to be. It's crafty and lived in and feels like it's been there forever.. Oh wait, it has.. literally. The building that how holds the Grange is one of the oldest buildings in lovely little Duvall. It was built over 80 years ago. In fact, it used to house the Silver Spoon Restaurant for several years, more than 20 years ago, which at one point boasted THE BEST hamburger in the Seattle area! My parents used to frequent here when I was young, as did my grandmother, so the space is pretty special to most who've lived/ grown up out there. Enough with the history lesson already! On to the restaurant. The Grange is quintessential Duvall. It feels very country, but it doesn't feel over the top, which I really appreciated since there businesses in DTown that LOVE to play up the stereotype of 'small town'.. or what I call the 'Holstein factor.' The Grange does not. We sat in a front separate dining area, which was great. It was pretty private and was perfect for a gathering or 5 or 6 people. We were brought Caffe Vita coffee in a stainless carafe (you don't get this in Seattle!) cream and brown sugar in porcelain, and giant OJs for $2.95 (which would have easily been $5 in the city!). I opted for the Silver Spoon Breakfast: 2 eggs, with bacon or sausage, local roasted potatoes, and toast. All free range, btw. The potatoes were lovely. Crispy with onions. The toast was house made and reminded me of the stuff my dad used to make, pre bread machine days. The eggs were nice and the bacon was thick and cooked almost too much- which I totally prefer. A few of my family members had the same, and the french toast, which was 1 1/2" thick french toast (4 pieces of it!) and it looked absolutely bovine.. I mean divine. :) Fresh house made preserves. Decent service, although we did have to wait a while for them to get the credit card machine up and running again. Happens sometimes out there in the sticks... A hen or a cow can can get caught up in the phone lines out back sometimes and can screw up the electricity for days! I will definitely be back. Their dinner menu looks fantastic and I think that's probably where they're really going to shine. Places that pop up like this in Duvall make me happy. In a town that continues to become more commercial by the hour, it's nice to see great little independent places who understand the town really thrive.

Used to go to the Grange when it first opened and the food was great. My husband and I were dining here once a week for the next 3 months. Each time we entered the owner/greater/hostess would approach us like she was seeing us for the first time and was kind of sorry we showed up but because the food and the wait staff were wonderful we kept coming back. Then it all changed, we still had the not so welcoming owner and the food was aweful!! Each visit brought us new things for the kitchen to mess up. It seemed that the husband/owner left the kitchen and what was left was just not good. So disappointed to not have this restaraunt anymore. What a shame!!!

Eaten here about a dozen times. Dinner many times, breakfast only once and never again. For breakfast we took the kids down for a nice meal. Choices in Duvall for breakfast are VERY limited. The adult food was passible in a farm fresh kind of way. Not a huge fan of the style of breakfast. For the kids however they hated it. They are not used to that style of food at all and they dont tolerate alot of change. So unless I was going to take my kids there 50 times so they get used to it I dont think i will be taking them back. For dinner however things are well. I have tried several dishes and always got a good meal. Burgers are fantastic. Homemade chips are great. The ceaser salad is one of the best. I have had steaks there that are very good. If atmosphere is your thing than I suppose you will either love it or hate it. Very country and old feeling. I personally dont give a wit about the setting unless it interferes with the eating experience. This certainly does not. We have always recieved decent service. There seems to be a consistent feeling like the wait staff is understaffed. The kids play area is terrific. You just point the kids in that direction and let them have some fun. More restaurants should follow suit.

*UPDATE 4/21/08- We had brunch/lunch here yesterday, and yum! The menu is very different from last time we were here, so lots of new stuff to consider. I had tuna sashimi- served with a ginger/soy sauce instead of the typical wasabi and soy sauce. It was yummy! Better quality sashimi than I was expecting honestly, and the sauce was nice. My husband got the veggie pizza, which was AWESOME. Super super yummy. I said Sahara had the best pizza in Duvall, but nope, this beat it. I'm crazy about veggie pizza, and this one was AWESOME- red peppers, onions, olives, mushrooms, garlic... the crust was perfect... and I ate the last half of the pizza when we got home. I'll admit to that. =) The owner Judy is so nice, Kris our server was helpful, and the chef was cool- he came out and talked about the food with us. Very cool! We'll be back to check out the patio area. =) *UPDATE 12/10/07-This is an update on my review from before. My fiance and I visited the Grange Cafe a few weeks ago and were disappointed. Upon finding out about this, the owner requested that we come back in and give them a second try. And we went for it! After all, this place IS really new- I'm sure there are plenty of kinks to work out when starting an adventure like a new restaurant... plus, we'll take any excuse to eat out! =) We ate at the Cafe on 12/7/07- the place is so cute right now, with holiday lights and poinsettias and candles everywhere. The place looks really beautiful. We started with the pumpkin ravioli- WOW. Okay, I am a huge pumpkin fan to begin with- but this ravioli was just mouth-watering, a perfect combination of sweet and savory. Actually, my mouth is watering right now thinking about it, it was incredible. My fiance absolutely hates pumpkin, and has hated every single pumpkin-related dish he has ever tried- but he went crazy over this ravioli- THAT says a lot! For my entree I chose the Honey and Coriander-glazed Chicken Breast with Celery Root Gratin and Brussels Sprouts. I love honey and cilantro, so this sounded right up my alley- and it WAS. The chicken was great, the honey and coriander were so yummy on it. What surprised me the most though, were the sides- I have despised brussels sprouts since I was 5- this was the first time I have EVER enjoyed them. That took me by surprise, for sure! The celery root gratin was something I thought sounded strange- honestly I only ordered the dinner for the chicken. But the gratin ended up being my favorite part! Everything together was just so perfect, so delicious. My fiance ordered Braised Beef Short Ribs with Parsnip Puree. The meat was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth. Everything on the plate was really nice together- and he seemed VERY satisfied with it. =) Aaaand this brings us to dessert! We went overboard with this and were sugar-sick for the rest of the night, but it was SO worth it, haha. First up was pistachio ice cream on a cookie- both AWESOME. Next was a dark chocolate toffee bread pudding. I have actually never had bread pudding before, and I have to say I prefer sweeter desserts- but the chocolate was nice and dark, and the toffee was a nice complement. There was an Apple Tart Tatin with vanilla ice cream- YUM. I haven't had a dessert exactly like this one before, but it was fantastic- if you like ANY dessert with apple, you'll love this one! Last up (*phew!*) was a Cinnamon Stick Creme Brulee- this was as good as any creme brulee I've ever tasted, and the cinnamon in the sugar crust was strong- really nice. I'm so SO glad we gave this place another chance- they're really coming together. The staff is as friendly as anyone I've ever met, which just adds to the warm, inviting atmosphere the dining area creates. And this food was just amazing; honestly, we loved EVERY single thing we tasted. And that doesn't happen too often. :) This restaurant is also starting to have special dinners and classes- and I plan to check both of those out!

I've been going to the Grange since they opened. They did a major overhaul of their menu a few months ago, and are really doing a great job now. The service is attentive and pleasant, and the food is some of the best on the east side. I love how local they source too! On this trip there was nothing veg on the menu except a pizza, so I asked the chef what he could do. He offered me several options (they are very accomodating on diet!). And settled on the chicken-curry special without the chicken. I was impressed that he stopped back to point out that the salad I ordered had bacon fat in it and offered some options. The salad was quite nice, but the curry was really delicious. Spicy with depth of flavor and texture. Really great. My non-veg partner had the pot roast on mashed potatoes. He found it very taste and tender. A large portion too, he couldn't finish it.

One of the best meals I've had in a long time. I had the free-range chicken; my plate didn't even need to be cleaned as it was spotless after I finished. My wife had the crabcakes with an orange cream sauce, which was also outstanding. The Powers wine, which the waitress suggested, was excellent. The service was very good, and the water glasses were kept full. The pie and brownie/ice cream desserts were also perfect. This is one of those rare restaurants where the food is unpretentious and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Also, the atmosphere is very comforting and countryesque. At approx. $95 for two, which included salads, main course, a glass of wine and two desserts, I felt I got my money's worth. I also liked the way the chef went from table to table, asking everyone if they enjoyed the food. We're looking forward to returning soon. Duvall Grange is a special night out for us. How nice that we don't have to travel 30+ miles to Seattle for such great cuisine. The hardest part of our experience was deciding what to pick off the menu.

A rare find. Locally sourced produce from farms in the Snoqualmie Valley brought together in unexpectedly good dishes. After a rocky start the time to service is improving markedly. The dishes aren't as creative after a turn over in chefs, but the speed of the kitchen has improved. For harried parents who miss fine cuisine, The Grange provides a kid's play area and good kids menu side by side with inventive quality dishes for the rest of us. Tuesday night is live Irish music jam night. A corner of the restaurant is given over to local Irish musicians and lively music. The burgers are fantastic, the wood-fired pizza is great.

I have only been here for dinner but love the food, ambiance, and service. Ordering take out is also super convenient; love to have good food that is packaged in a way that makes it still look edible too! I've also worked with Judy in hosting an event upstairs and absolutely loved the experience. They have a perfect space for events!

For the price, better service is expected. I would also expect fresh flowers, candles, and less cobwebs at a restaurant in a quaint town. The staff doesn't appear to be well trained. When I inquired about selections of wine by the glass, the waiter responded, 'we have a red and a white.' Hmm....really?

An amazing restaurant, great food, all local focus which we really appreciate. I love to show the kids where the food comes from since we visit the local farms. Expensive but kid friendly and great service. Good for a date or a family meal. Love the atmosphere too. Makes me happy to eat there.

A friend took us to the Grange for a birthday dinner, the drinks & the food were fabulous - yes, it's pricey, but not more than I would expect to pay in Kirkland or Bellevue, especially for good, high quality food! I really appreciated that the food suppliers are local, whole & organic and that the kitchen was able to accomodate my friends gluten-free requests. We had two kids with us and there were good options for them too. We also tried them out for a Saturday breakfast that was very reasonably priced and the food was, again, fabulous! I love the local flavor, the casual, farmy atmosphere - this is a must do!
