We've been here a few times and always had a great experience! The My Generation pizza is our favorite that we've tried so far. Their house-made peppercorn ranch dressing is fantastic! An order of garlic bread with extra ranch for dipping... YUM! They have a fun décor, the location is always clean and well-maintained. The staff has always been fun, friendly, and outgoing. We'll definitely be going back. :)

Was ok. Was decent. Not the best but not the worst I've ever had. I wouldn't order again, but was alright. Not very BBQ. The mustard sauce they use overpowered it. Coleslaw was good though! I've only been here once so I cannot say much. Would be willing to try there pizza when I'm in the area. I've had pizza at a few and they're always different. So I don't know about the pizza here.

We finally took our daughter out to a restaurant that she has been asking to do for weeks and it started off ok... We got there and for a party of 3, the wait was 10-15 minutes. Not bad for a Friday night... The hostess even gave my daughter a little box of kid dough (little square of pizza dough) to play with. She loved that... We were seated fairly quickly and got our order in within 10 min... And then the waiting started. An hour past and nothing. No stop by from our waitress... Nothing. We were at one of the booths by the door and no one so much as looked in our direction. We finally got our food at 9:15 and it was...disgusting. That's the best word to describe it. I ordered the Rockin Chicken platter and the server didn't offer any dipping sauces. In fact, we had to flag down a different employee just because our server had disappeared right after dropping off our food. I want to say that the slow service and the BAD food was the case of an extremely busy establishment... But they weren't THAT busy. There were empty tables all around us. The only good thing about the night was that my Bucket and jello shot were the bomb! And it's a good thing too because it's the only thing that helped me swallow this bad experience. But it will be a looooonnnng time before I go back...or recommend it to anyone looking for anything more than a couple tasty drinks.

Haylee was the best server I've ever had. Her ability to get food fast and efficiently made my experience at the rock so special that I will remember my first time there forever. I will continue to come back because of her amazing service. She is awesome, if you eat here I recommend her as your server.

What's there not to like about the Rock? With every check-in on Yelp, you get free mozzarella bread! The Rock has happy hour every week day from 3-6pm and 9-close. Draft beers, house wines, and well drinks are $3.25 during HH. Plus multiple food specials! We love this location because the waitstaff are amazing! As regulars, the waitstaff (especially the awesome Shauna) know your drinks and food orders right away as you come in!

I tried this place a few times if u don't eat in the bar I find that u have to wait awhile to get a table even if visually there's tables open I don't know if the hostess was just be rude or what but the last two times we have tried to eat here I have waiting 20 min for a table even when there's like 10 tables open and just ended up walking out I'm not sure if they only open up certain tables or what but I'm done with this place the pizza isn't that good anyway

This is, by far, my favorite location. It's in the perfect spot and I've always loved their choices. I feel like my family and I can always get a pizza we can all agree on which isn't easy. Haylee has helped us a couple of times and she's great! I never feel rushed or ignored. If you live in the area and haven't checked out Rock pizza you definitely should. P.s. The White Christmas is my go-to. Simple and so good.

This is the most delicious pizza in the area!! Really great for people who like spicy red sauced pizzas, as I feel like those are their best! The only complaints I have are that they're food is pretty expensive and the environment is kind of generic. The pizza really is great though!

Gross, gross, GROSS. I'm giving one star because A) I have to, B) our waitress was really nice and my Bucket was great. It was my first time having one, and yum yum! But the food? Oh no. I will give them props for the Mozz Bread - that shit was good. AND if you check-in on Yelp, you get one for free! My boyfriend's mom got a burger and asked for it cooked medium.... It was cooked RARE. Very rare. Like... It was still mooing. My boyfriend got the "Money" and it was SOAKED in oil/grease. I got the Get Back Mac and Cheese... So bland. Literally no flavor whatsoever. The food here is below subpar. I probably won't be back unless it's for some buckets. Bleck.

Went to take my son there for dinner but after sitting in waiting area for about 20 min without anyone even attempting to talk to me decided to go somewhere else.

This location is my primary for the lunch buffet. They will make any of the menu pizzas that you ask. They will even do adjustments. My favorite is the Meaty Beaty with pineapple. I lime the facj that you can try pies that you normally wouldnt order. They will also do stromboli and dessert pizzas.

When people tell you that you should have greasy/fatty food before drinking alcohol in order to prevent a hangover, this is the food I would think of. This location of The Rock in Covington is quite a popular one. Even on a typical weekday night there might be a small wait before being seated. We waited about 10 minutes on a Thursday night. The place has decently loud music so it's not a place to have a quiet sit down. The buckets are things you will probably only see at the Rock. They are literally mini buckets with shovels that are filled with liquor and alcohol. For $11 it's actually quite a good deal for the amount of alcohol you are getting. My brother got the one that comes with a rock star. If you like the taste of energy drinks and the fizziness, you might want to try this one. However, you can only order two buckets per table. They do have a happy hour although we didn't come during HH time. We started with the Yelp check in of free moz bread (choose between garlic/mozzarella or brown sugar), sweet potato fries and cajun wings. We then ordered the biggest size of their Bad to the Bone pizza. (They offer three sizes, the smallest one being more of an individual sized pizza). The first thing to come were the sweet potato fries and oh my goodness they are DELICIOUS. These are the BEST sweet potato fries I have ever tasted. At first they look like sweet potato versions of cringles but they are so much more. They are perfectly crisp on the outside, not overly salty, smooth on the inside and the horseradish sauce that comes with it is amazing! The reason this place is getting it's two stars is because of these fries, seriously. It took a very, very long time for the next appetizer to come out. I think we finished the fries and then had to wait more before more food came out. It was disappointing since it would have been nice to get appetizers either together or relatively within short time intervals. The moz bread came next along with the wings. The moz bread (garlic/mozzarella) was a definite no-no. It comes on what appears to be flat bread and it is so oily and greasy. It lacks a lot of flavor and I'm not even sure the sauces mask up what it's lacking. Thankfully it's free cause those were not tickling my tongue. The cajun wings come out on a piping hot skillet (do NOT touch the skillet you will burn yourself). They are slightly burnt from what I saw. By the way, 1 lb of wings is about 7 wings total. The cajun sauce was okay but it definitely lacked a little something. It definitely had a good kick of spice but something just didn't taste right (the missing flavor...). Furthermore, the wings are just drowning in oil. Not my favorite. Our pizza finally came out on a large silver tray that they put next to the table. If you want utensils then you're going to have to ask for utensils in the beginning when they take your order. It was a hefty sized pizza, definitely could feed more than a party of two. The bad to the bone is a white sauced pizza with ham, red onions and bacon. It tasted fine but I could see so much grease, oil and fat just oozing out. That in itself made the pizza less enjoyable. However, the ingredients did taste fresh and the crust was fluffy and chewy. The crust isn't really a thin crust but not your average typical crust either. It's somewhere in between. I like the wood fired taste though. Service was a bit slow and lacking. We were checked up on which was nice but our server did not refill my water when it was empty. There were a few times where it took her a bit too long to bring the things we requested as well. What we ordered was way too much food and we took the moz bread and half the pizza back home. Without the alcohol, the food itself was around $40 or so. Slightly on the pricier side. As stated early, if you're looking for greasy food to prevent that hangover, this might be your stop.

Finally after all the years Rock has been in Covington, my husband and I tried them out today for lunch. We had heard they really are a fantastic place to get pizza and pasta. But I also heard criticism they are expensive. My verdict. What can I say? Their food is as fantastic as all my friends have said! The prices may seem a bit high but honestly I think they are fair for the amount of food and quality of food that you receive. We had the skillet shrooms for an appetizer and they were delicious! We also had the tortellini with pesto sauce and The Founders Pie which consists of Sweet Italian Sausage, pepperoni, tomato sauce, Mozzarella and Ricotta cheese. YUM! The service and atmosphere was absolutely awesome. The app did take awhile to arrive, but the entrees were prompt, and everything tasted so good it was worth a little extra wait for the app. Rock has managed to knock our previous favorite Italian restaurant off its perch.

Horrible service!! I've been here several times before always had great food and service. We were seated at a dirty sticky table. I asked for a wet rag the server brought over a wet rag and half assed wiped the table off. I then took the rag and moved the items on the table and wiped it myself. I didn't know wiping off a table could be that difficult. I asked our server a question about an item on the menu she had no clue what I was talking about, she gave me that deer in the headlight look. We ordered fish and chips for lunch the fish was over cooked had to ask for tartar sauce for our fish and who puts ranch dressing on coleslaw?? We won't be back!! It makes me sad that the quality and service has done so far down hill.

This is the second time I've had a horrible experience here. The first time was eat in, and this time it was to-go... The gal on the phone taking orders said 15 minutes, so I rushed over because that's exactly how far away we are... I had to wait 15 MORE minutes AFTER I got there for a total of 30 minutes to get a pizza that had an undercooked doughy crust and I had to go back in and grab the managers attention to get hot peppers after I had asked for them specifically... The place has really gone downhill in the last couple months. We have been coming here almost 2 years and lately it's really been bad. Reconsidering our patronage here for sure... Cool atmosphere but to have cold food as well? Ummm no...

Came in for some pizza on a busy Friday night. We sat in the bar and were waited on by the friendly bar staff. Even though it was busy our food and drinks came out promptly and everything tasted great!! Make sure you try their signature Bucket if you want something delicious to drink (and strong to boot!) All of their pizzas are hand tossed by their talented pizza tossing specialists! We tried the Crazy Train and it was to die for! We'll definitely be back for more sometime very soon!

The lunch buffet is good, it use to be awesome. The size of the Ceasar salad is a joke, they went from unlimited to 1 good size bowl to a tiny bowl. It also seems every time we come here lately the staff is new except for the cook Benny. Service has gone down. We use to come here almost weekly not anymore.

This location is where I fell in love with the original bucket! I have never had a bad experience here. Recently came her for lunch with a friend and my young daughter. And it was a great, just like I had expected! The waitress was super sweet and kind! And didn't seem upset when my daughter flung a thing of ranch on the ground. She cleaned it up and told me not to worry it was nothing(which means a lot to me). Got the Can't stop rocking, love the added pineapple!! Have a pretty good kids menu. Got the pasta and was surprised at the portion. My daughter loved it. I love that I can come here with my daughter and order a drink with a friend! And if you have a backstage pass you can still get happy hour not in the bar!! Which is great when you have a child and cant get in the bar!!

I love the rock as a restaurant, this one seems to be poorly run. I'll give it a star because the servers were extremely nice and apologetic...they also seemed to be working hard. But if you end up there for an hour and twenty minutes with no food, there needs to be a change in the restaurant. We were there for that long and had ordered within ten minutes of arriving. When our waitress came to our table to let us know that it would be about another ten minutes or so, we had to get up and leave. We totally understand that things happen and don't always go as planned, but you would think they would offer a plate of fries or appetizer to hold us over until we finally got our food. Instead, the waitress said she understood if we needed to leave to go to another restaurant. I don't think we will be going back...

Only thing is the bartender..Lance. Worst singing voice ever!!!! But an amazing server and bartender. Just tell him not to sing. Food is great, Bang a Gong is the best pizza :)

Waited between eight and 10 minutes before anyone showed up at the bar to pour my friend and I a drink.we both ordered soup and salad. My friends soup was cold the salad was OK. My salad came with the wrong dressing and I had to ask for the soup again. While we were eating our meal another waitress continued to talk to her friends that were sitting next to us completely ignoring our needs. We believe the management of this restaurant seriously needs to evaluate the staff and a hire some good servers. Until then we will not be going back or recommending this restaurant and bar. 3 PM July 14

Not recommended during lunch time. It took 7 minutes for our server to greet us after we were seated. Our brown sugar mozzarella bread wasn't baked long enough and was still doughy when we got it. We would have asked our server to have it cooked more if he had come and checked on us. We waited with empty glasses and not full bellies.

This location is ridiculous. I've tried contacting a manager a couple of times regarding horrible service and unacceptable food. Weeks later and I've yet to get a reply.. I refuse to go here and it sucks because every Thursday night, my niece wants to come here for pizza.. instead we drive half an hour away to a different restaurant and it's not a Rock location! It's a toss up between corporate, health department and liquor board as to whom I contact next..

The boyfriend and I were very disappointed! We've been here before and the service and food wasn't as bad. For coming here on a Saturday night The Rock should be better prepared as a restaurant. We had to wait 25 minutes which for a Saturday is not bad but when we were being seated there were tables left and right opened and not cleaned. The food was horrible. My boyfriend had the nanchos and said they were the worst nanchos he has ever had. There was barely any steak and for having to pay extra for guac and steak there should of been more. The guac was brown when it came with the nanchos. I had the steak salad and it was not great at all. It was like they took leaves and slapped in on the plate with the steak. I like my steak rare but this steak they might as well not have even seared it and given it to me completely raw. Overall a bad experience.

My experience at the rock, was more then pleasant. My server Audra was very sweet and personable. She helped me pick out the perfect dish along with a great brew to compliment the meal. I will definitely be dining at the rock again very soon. Thanks Audra!

Pro's · Ambiance · Great and friendly servers · Awesome pizza · Served perfect (the way we order) and Hot · Music, just the right volume · Bathrooms clean · Servers attentive · Price always consistent Con's Smaller location- not as decorative as the other locations Not able to keep shirts and jackets in stock for customers as employees get to buy them first. Slow to seat our party even though there wasn't anyone waiting and the dining room was empty. Summary- This was my first visit to this location and we met up with friends for Pizza and drinks. Even though there weren't many people in the restaurant, I had to wait about 5 minutes for seating. Not a big deal, but when there is no one waiting, you shouldn't have to wait for seating, especially when there were 3 waitresses and a manager running around. The pizza was okay, but not as good/hot as Auburn's location. I still maintain that the Auburn location is my favorite, although this location was a close second. I recommend this location if you are in the area, but no special trip.

WHY IS OUR ORDER WRONG EVERY TIME?!! Have been coming here for years, only because we knew someone who had worked at this particular location. Now that they are not, we rarely come. But after all these years, they still get our orders wrong! Ordered my steak medium well...came out medium rare. My salad was all brown, didn't eat that. My meal comes with salad, steak, AND potatoes topped with cheese. When we picked up our food the girl claimed it was either or. Um no read the menu. No way my meal should have been over $17. I don't know why I put myself through this experience when I know what the outcome will be. Over it!

It was just OK not a show stopper on the food for sure... average bar food. Kids did not eat much of the appetizers but enjoyed the pizza. I like the bucket the original not sure if I will drive the distance just to visit this place but the inside is very cool

I just wanted to give an updated review. We have just recently started visiting Here again and have to say we are so pleased that Jonah has returned as the Gm. We have been back 3 times now and he has always gone out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. The service has improved tremendously and we can now add this place back to one our favorite go-to spots to eat! :)

If i could give a zero I would! I have been a little under the weather so I thought I would place a to go order. First mistake. First guy answers I tell him i want to place a to go order. He asks me to hold so he can find a pen. No problem. A few sec later a girl picks up the phone. I tell her i would like to place a to go order she also asks me to hold so she can find a pen. After a few min she comes back to take my order. We both order steak, and by the description it comes with house Frys and starts with salad. I had to mention the salad. So finally get the order in. 2 steaks med well 1 ceaser salad 1 garden no onions or tomatoes. Get to the car and we have meat and salad no potatoes. Go back in and they try and tell me either or. Finally they agree to give us potatoes. Go home open boxes and the salad is brown WITH onions and tomatoes and the steak is not only dry but obviously med well means burned on the outside and rare in the middle. Needless to say I threw away more or less 45.00 away! No flavor horrible. Worst food I have had in a while! I will not be back and if I felt better I would be back only for a refund. Next time I want steak I'll leave it to the pros and go to black angus or outback! At least the food there is edible

Always love going to the Rock. I love the atmosphere and I love the pizza. I frequent the ones in Olympia and downtown Tacoma. I know I can count on a good experience, food, drinks, service. I stopped at the one in Covington and was very happy. Sarah provided great friendly service and Jonah the manager was very friendly, nice, and made sure my meal was fabulous. Clean, quick and friendly service, hot pizza, cool atmosphere. Everyone made sure I had a great dinner. I used to be an international trainer and opened restaurants and also management. (For another big chain restaurant) I was so impressed with everything. I can be judge mental sometimes because I expect it. Now looking at some of the reviews I was quite surprised anyone could even write anything bad. I guess sometimes you just can not please anyone. From experience (8 years) in the biz sometimes there's nothing you will ever do that will be good enough. All I have to say is the Pizza is worth being fat over lol and I have always had amazing service every single time I have been at the Rock. Thank you Jonah and Sarah for the great service and hope I make it back again soon.

We went there for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. We decided to go early in case it was busy. We waited for 10 min to get a table in an almost empty restaurant There were others that came in after us. After waiting in a line, the man that came to get the next customers immediately asked a group of girls how many in their party to seat them next. Needless to say, my husband was very upset. After getting seated, the only thing that kept us there was the waiter, Adam. He was very attentive. The pizza was very good as well. First impressions are important. I think that they need a little work where that is concerned. There needs to be a better system in place for the host/hostess.

Used to be our go to place for late night eats then one horrible experience after another. Slow service, bad food, cold food, no service. Not worth wasting our time and money when we know what it should be. Pretty sad to think a place can get this bad within just a matter of months.

  • Regina C.

Service was slow, like the slowest service ever!!! Onion rings were doughy and tasteless. The rock chicken sandwich was ok. Caesar salad with chicken was basic nothing to write about. Kids Mac n cheese basic. I wouldn't go back.

Decided to try this place despite the bad service reviews. You guys weren't kidding....HORRIBLE customer service! The food was ok, but not worth the time to get it. Our waitress spent more time outside in her cell phone than inside serving her customers. I would say I won't be going there again.

Been coming to the Rock for Years. I have switched up my locations as to where I travel, but have found this store to be very welcoming. Covington is a small town, not much to see, but the service has always been friendly and prompt. They are always reinventing themselves with new menu items and the quality of the product has only furthered my regular patronage. I'm always met with smiling faces throughout, and I couldn't live without the Brown Sugar Mozz Bread, the most sinful creation ever. Not to mention the happy hour is amazing.

This place like it's other chain locations are all the same to me. I've never been a big fan of the rock overall - it's not a terrible place by any means but it's far from great. Everything on the menu is pretty mediocre however I do enjoy a good beer every now and then and this place has at least got that.

The best item is the fried calamari! The burgers can be good, but it's a 50/50 each time I go in. The pizza...it can be good too. Your server just has to remember to bring it to you be for it is cold, that would be 30% chance.

    (3)
  • Lee K.

The food is sub par. And the daily specials/happy hour are non existent. This was surprising considering the place was empty when I came in. Their happy hour specials consisted of 20% of a 9 inch pizza (written in fine print of course)... I ordered a large, drinks and appetizers and they refused to honor the special!! Will never go back!

  • HK J.

We've had so many great experiences here since my last review. We haven't sat in the dining area since but the phone-in orders have all been right and some how the bar staff has risen above it's already super rad status.

I was really excited about this place and I was so sad it wasn't what I was expecting. The pizza I got was the wild child and it wasn't good at all. I asked for it well done and they didn't make it that way. I took one bite and knew it was not for me. It was taken off the table and bill. The service was friendly and their Onion Rings are VERY good. Their drinks are HUGE but over priced. I also didn't like I had to get a "Back Stage Pass" to get the Happy Hour special but it didn't say that on the menu. It was only after I said something when I looked at the check. That for me was taking their "Theme" too far.

My husband requested ONE thing during my spring break from work (I work at a school). . . he wanted to go to The ROCK for the buffet. Most people I know, liked the buffet, as we do. Most comments I get from friends and I agree with is, that it should be five days a week, instead of W-F. Well, the only day it worked out for us this week was Thursday. Good thing that I suggested going right when they opened. I get there, only to learn that *dun, dun, dun* They now only serve the buffet on Friday. Yes folks, that's it. . . only FRIDAYS. Unless you are the Rock that is across the way from Boeing in Renton, they are scaling back the hours of the Pizza buffet. Perhaps this will improve the speed of service at the ROCK, because I've got a feeling that it will be decisively less busy at this location. I left after they suggested we come back tomorrow or check out their new lunch menu. Nah. . . rather drive the 18 miles to the Renton location. If that was going to fall through, we would have gone to Five Guys.

Pretty disappointed with the lack of customer service. We sat down and waited for 20 mins, it was dead at the time and not busy at all. Three different servers passed our table without making any eye contact or even to say, "sorry we'll be with you." We were the only minority party of two there and after seeing two other families (whom were Caucasian) sit down after us 10 mins after we've sat, they get their orders and foods right away. It would be nice if we had even gotten waters at least, but after they sat us down, there was no acknowledgment of our existence. Why is that? Beats me.

My parents bring me here when I'm in town. Always happy with the pizza- cooked perfectly. I suggest sitting in the bar and hopefully Lance is bartending. He's the happiest, most outgoing bartender I've had and makes sure his customers are taken care of. Excellent service!

the covington rock is a joke, i have never had a problem at their other locations. everytime i have walked in i see waitresses standing on their cellphones while people are waiting to be served. i waited way to long for service because the waitress was up front chatting. im very upset with the service. i was not taken care of and i dont consider this a nice resturaunt to dine at.. . CONSIDER ANOTHER LOCATION for better service and a great experience.

Atmosphere is great! Pizza is good, nothing too special. Good choice of side order items. They have their own brews which aren't bad. Prices a bit high, I think your paying for the atmosphere.

The wait was terrible on a Tuesday. We were told the wait was 30 min even though they had tables available. And then after we are seated...it takes forever to get your food. If you want pizza head to Pizza Hut across the street. It isn't that great for the wait. .

Great late night dinner spot and terrific take out. We have never had a bad meal or bad service here. They handle large parties with ease and they get LOTS of 10+ parties come in late. This trip we decided to beat the heat and start with a salad and they cheerfully split the entree pear, blue cheese, and candied walnut salad at no extra cost. We each even got a roll and butter - score! We choose the bat out of hell pizza, but toned it down... bat out of purgatory? Hold the spinach and the hot peppers and you are left with a white pizza, light dusting of cajun spices, chicken, and dollops of herbed cream cheese. Really light and flavorful, and spicier the next day.

I've been here a few times and I find the pizza to be very good, but incredibly expensive. They also insist upon serving it on well-used (and cold) baking pans. Are you too damn cheap to buy real pizza plates? There is no excuse for that, considering a 16" pie is over $20. The service is also slow and mediocre. I guess if you stick to the buffet you can't really go wrong, but this place is too gimmicky for my taste.

This is a tough review to write, because I have a love/hate relationship with "The Rock." The love: when the pizza is good, it is really good. They use good ingredients and some of their ingredient combinations really work, and the crust is very good. The hate: this place is very poorly managed, the food is inconsistent, and the service is a game of Russian Roulette. The bar caters to a very childish demographic, with a signature line of big sweet drinks served in little plastic buckets, the sort a child would use for digging beach sand. I have found that my best shot at happiness here is to order the pizza for take-out and to place the order for pick-up just a little before the restaurant gets into its evening rush and everything starts to fall apart. If I wait much later, I risk getting a poorly assembled pie, or it not being ready at the promised time. Eating in, I have had EVERY bad service experience one can imagine, from endless waits, to appetizers that never arrive, to completely inattentive wait staff. But I have also had some perfect experiences too. Like I said, it is Russian Roulette. I have never been at any of the other Rock locations, so I wonder if the issues are unique to Covington. It is too bad, because the food is good (when prepared correctly) and if you can put up with the corny classic rock theme and the low brow bar crowd, it is just a matter of getting better management and supervision and all the problems could be fixed. Unless and until that happens, handle The Rock with extreme caution.

Love The Rock! Brown sugar cheese bread with a side of ranch and marinara is my favorite thing here. If you can sit in the bar area, it's a little more intimate especially if you want a kid-free dining experience, but during prime dinner times, the bar area is pretty tough to get. Any pizza I have tried here is good, but the ones with bacon are better without it (sorry!) because their bacon is too fatty and needs to be crispier. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Covington/Maple Valley.

HORRIBLE service! I'd give this place zero stars if I could. The food is just OK, but $90 for a few drinks, 2 pizzas, an appetizer and a kids meal is a bit steep for the service they provide. We debated between this place and Red Robin for an early New Year's Eve dinner and it was definitely the wrong choice! Our server was dismissive and made us feel like we were bothering her when we had a request. She offered happy hour drinks then charged full price and when I questioned it she wanted to know if I had a Backstage Pass. She then brought me a Backstage Pass but left the charges the same. We never saw her again after that so I wasn't able to ask her for further clarification. She didn't come by to see if we needed any more drinks and nobody cleared our table when we were finished eating so we sat there with piles of dirty dishes and glasses and finished our drinks. It was one of the worse experiences I've ever had and we will NEVER step foot in there again. They can't use New Year's Eve as an excuse because it was early and it wasn't that busy, they had empty tables.

It is good... but not great. I really don't care for their beer at all. Any other drink in there is great as the bartenders are seasoned. Their pizza of course is good. The healthier options are lacking. I realize that it is a pizza joint, but I would love to see something more than just a salad for those who are health conscious. I have tried to give these guys a chance. I have gone here 3 times in the last 5 months and each time I leave feeling like something was lacking. Their servers are great and friendly. I have absolutely no complaints in that category. The music is at an appropriate level - loud enough to sing to if you want, but quiet enough to have a conversation with the rest of your party. It is not as big as some of their other locations either. I would go here if my group wanted to go, but it would not be my choice of venue.

  • Chariya S.

The service was EXCELLENT! The foods were OK. I had the pasta dish. Nothing special or over the top about it. Everyone else from the group seemed to enjoyed their burger. I will be back to try a burger or pizza next time.

Very good bar style food, featuring their signature pizzas in a very casual relaxed atmosphere. The service is always very good to excellent. My wife and I dine here at least once every other month. We normally tip at least 20 percent because of the excellent service we receive.

I would recommend staying away during the dinner hour. I have been here before during lunch and never had an issue. Tonights service seemed chaotic and unorganized. Checked in at around 530 pm just getting our appetizer 35 minutes later. Had to get our food to go. They still have good food.

Classic rock, rough and ready 'decor' and O so tasty pizza options. The classic rock theme is carried throughout the menu, the 'frequent diner' card as well as the decor. Also a decent mid-day meal options, but the best is saved for Fridays. Their crust is american style but different from (and better than) any other crust I have had aside from Florence. Not in the mood for pizza? Try the meatball sandwich which comes with their beer battered fries. I nearly always bring home half the sandwich! The greens in their mixed greens salad have always been fresh, grape tomatoes, raspberry vinaigrette dressing on the side.

Had a really poor dining experience here. Took over an hour for our pizzas to come and when they did, the kid's food wasn't brought out. They just forgot the kids. Service was slow in part to the fact the waiter came out a half hour after we placed our order to ask one person in our party what kind of pizza he ordered. Got one star, because at least the food that came was good and we had good company with us so the time passed by fine.

The Rock is a great place for pizza and drinks with friends. Recommend the Meaty Beat Big and Bouncy pizza above all else. All of their appetizers are great. Even the Rock chips. Encourage you to get them ranch flavored. Great stuff. One of their big draws is the Rum Bucket. However, that thing is mostly filler. They say it's a mix of five rums, but there's maybe three shots at the most in there. Half the drink is ice. It's okay, but you're getting robbed on alcohol content thanks to all that filler and ice. And it really dampens things that there is a 2 bucket limit. Fortunately, they have other Bucket drinks! Like the energetic Reaper Bucket. Get it! They serve it with Rockstar or Diet Rockstar. Not as much ice, and a lot more alcohol. The major downside to The Rock depends on who the bartender is in the bar area. In the restaurant you have no problem. Servers are great and helpful. But the bartender can either make or break your night in the bar. If you're a guy and your bartender/server is Benny, you are going to have an awful time. He doesn't listen to your full order. He won't remember what everyone at the table asked. He does not admit mistakes, but rather blames someone else for losing part of your order. You order a certain bucket and he'll assume he knows what you want better than you and bring you a beer. He rarely checks ID's. And never checks ID's if you're a girl. And he does not know how to split a freaking tab. Only person I ever met working at the Rock that can't accomodate that. If you see a rotund guy with short black hair working the bar, get a table on the dining side. Your servers will get your drinks faster and won't forget or mix up your orders. Benny is the worst.

My Wife, our two kids, and I visited for dinner, and simply confirmed what we felt from a prior visit. The best part of our visit was the service, and I'd rate it as okay, not great. We ordered a chicken basket for appetizer, and it didn't arrive until just before the pizza. The waitress came by to ask how it was, after we had just asked for but not yet received silverware. How was the chicken? The breading was a little under cooked, and very greasy. That's just about how the pizza was to. The crust looked like it had sat in a vat of the stuff, soaking it up. Didn't look "Wood Fired", the crust was soggy with grease. A new Farrellis Pizza opened in Maple Valley that from our experience is a lot better.

We arrived at your covington restaurant at about 830pm when it wasn't too crowded. We typically go to the bar, but my girlfriend forgot her ID so we had to go to the restaurant side. As we walked in, the hostess (Sarah), did not greet us. Another hostess came up and started talking to Sarah as we stood there waiting. After a few minutes of still not being greeted, my girlfriend had to greet ourselves to the other hostess. She apologized for us not being taken care of, and said we'd be seated in a few minutes. Sarah showed us to our seats with no greeting, and sat us upstairs in the corner. The restaurant was HALF empty downstairs, but they sat us upstairs in the corner. Talk about segregation. We decided it was time to leave and we will not be back.

Not much to say. Its the rock. Mass produce pizza. I like the small, Ma and Pa places, but for a Big company they make a good pizza. Always love the music, and it's ok priced for what you get. Our waitress was very nice and did her job well. Oh but they do have this dessert there you have to try. Its a cookie, with ice cream and chocolate sauce. MAN! Talk about feeling your heart stop, but its soooo worth it. And what I really liked about this rock is its a little bit different with its set up then others. A smaller upper and A lot more open on the floor. So for me if I'm out with friends and we want pizza, and theres no Ma and Pa place I'll chose The Rock.

I love the food here!! I can never decide on what to order because they have so many good dishes. My complaints are, even when they don't seem all that busy it takes WAY too long to get our food. We usually end up waiting at least 30-45 minutes after the order has been taken before we get our food. And this has happened on more than 5 occasions. Other than that, my only other complaint is their appetizers. For the money, they aren't that good. The calamari is the worst I've ever had at a restaurant and same with the buffalo chicken fingers.

This is an update to my previous review. I contacted The Rock directly as I think it is good form to let businesses know when something goes wrong. They were prompt in writing me back and have assured me they have talked to the staff to make sure this doesn't happen again. They usually tell large parties to come before 5 or after 9. They were very apologetic about how it was handled when we were in the restaurant. They are sending a gift card as compensation for our trouble which I will be forwarding to the party coordinator. I am appreciative of their positive response and will definitely give them another chance in the future.

Very Happy with them. I went last week for their lunch Buffet. Sat in the Bar and they were slammed. The poor bartender was running her butt off. She forgot some sides and a drink. Came back this week for some more pizza and she remembered us. Offered a free appetizer or discounted lunch for the inconvenience of our previous visit. Top Notch customer service. I am very Happy and will keep going here to get my pizza fix!

Not my first time at the rock. However this rock is amazing! The view inside from the 'stairway to heaven' is epic. The bar has amazing decor and display of the bar itself is extraordinary. It seems that this establishment uses professional decorating. Like always, order a 'bucket' and try the bad to the bone pizza. Enjoy the music and atmosphere while you dine like a rockstar!

This only reviews the bar, which is the only part I've experienced. The calzone was meh. The crust was a bit on the hard side, like it had been left in the oven a little too long. The guts of it was good, though, and the quantity was enough to feed two people, so it was a good value. But nothing special in terms of quality. The atmosphere was confusing. I think The Rock is trying to be a fun, hip sports-bar, but I'm not really sure. There's so much fake brick that I felt like I was on the set of Little Shop of Horrors. All it needed was a guy in a leather jacket to come riding through the place on a vintage harley to complete the "vibe." The bartender, who doubled as my server, was nice enough and the food came fast. There appeared to be a waitress, but she spent the whole time B.S.-ing with some guys at the bar, who appeared to be regulars or possibly ex/future boyfriends. Those guys really laid on the cursing, which reminded me never to take my kids to a bar in Covington. I would love to give The Rock another try--in the main dining room.

Yummy! I am a diehard Chicago Pizza Fan who was looking for something a little closer to home. The za was crispy and buttery and the meats were high quality and not chinzy on the proportions! The Black Jack on tap was bitter but tasty and paired well with the Crazy Train!

Yup. I like this place. The pizza was super good, they obviously have that down. Many selections. I even think they brew their own brand of beers which were delicious. Roughly one of each major style of beer, IPA, Hef, Ale, Lager, etc. I forget the name but I got a drink that came in a kids 32 oz. plastic bucket complete with a shovel. My 5 yo will dig that when we get home, Literally LOL. Inside the lighting is low, bricks line every wall which were two stories tall at least, The wait staff was fresh out of high school but we were served fast and friendly luckily. I only ordered an extra large meat specialty pizza, salad, and two liquor buckets, and two beers and I think it came to $70. I did have a party of 4 people with me but 2 were kids. I'll have to recheck my receipt but ya, it floored me for a sec. Else it would be 5 stars all the way for me. You should try it! ~TZ

Get the Founder's Pie - it's great. It's a pepperoni and sausage pizza with ricotta dolloped generously amongst the pie. One of my favorite pizzas in the city. I've tried others, and they've been good, but this one is special. I'm split on what to think about the aesthetics of the place. On the one hand, it's an American pizza place, so it's obviously not fine dining. It's basically what I think The Men's Room on KISW would come up with if they wanted to make a pizza joint - kinda a Hard Rock Cafe / Harley Davidson vibe - kinda white trashy. They do have decent beer.

We've going to this place since they first opened. They had a few issues (long food waits, MIA servers) at the start but that is to be expected a few weeks after opening. Since then they have worked everything out. Food is good. I love their burgers (I know, it's a pizza place and I get the burger but...) and the wife generally gets the calzone. The wife says the calzone is pretty good most of the time but sometimes it seems to be overcooked which causes issues with trying to cut through it. A small issue. The kids have always enjoyed their food as well. They have their own beer on tap, which I really enjoy but I tend to stick to the hoppy/bitter Sledgehammer (an IPA). The wife gets their hefeweizen. Portions are pretty good but I think lately they cut back a little on the amount of side they give you. Maybe it was too much for most and was causing waste. I know I couldn't always finish everything. The place is themed in rock & roll with walls that appears to be the results of nuclear strike. I think the whole look is very cool. Although the look says, "Hard Rock/Metal", the piped in music is more classic rock. Waits aren't too long but we tend to go early to beat the crowds. If you bring the kids, ask for some pizza dough. The server will give each kid a small ball to play with.

I'd give this place 10 stars just for the Brown Sugar Mozzarella bread. I could just eat a basket of that for dinner! Delicious. We've always had good service here. The pizzas are Delicious. Went for the lunch buffet today, even though there was no brown sugar mozzarella bread it was still satisfying and a great value. The lighting was a little strange - not used to eating in red lighting but whatever, the food was good whether you could see it or not!

My first trip to The Rock, any of them, occured Tuesday, the 22nd of this month. It was a spur of the moment with my 13 yr old son and I after picking him up at his dad's house and both being hungry for pizza. We opted for the pizza buffet, which included choice of a caesar or garden salad and a drink. The buffet includes a soup, choices of 2 pastas, a pasta salad, rolls and whatever pizza is available. I tried several, but the favorites were Crazy Train (Pepperoni, hot Italian sausage, peppered bacon, caramelized onions, garlic, oregano and hot cherry peppers) and Founders Pie (sweet Italian sausage, pepperoni, tomato sauce, mozzarella & ricotta cheese). The boy, of course, his fave was plain pepperoni, although he loved the lasagna, the cheesy bread and the dessert pizza. I love that the salads are made to order as well, no limp greens. I will be back!

This review only covers the restaurant, not the bar. I have only actually eaten inside The Rock twice I think, but we get the pizza to go and eat it at home often. I have never been disappointed with the food. I usually don't like thin crust pizza, but they definitely do it right at The Rock.

I frequent The Rock 1 or 2 times a week. The best time to go down is Mon-Thurs night. Kurt is by far the best bar tender there. He is friendly and up beat and you can tell he is always working hard. I have had experiences with the bar tenders on the weekends there being somewhat slow. The pizza is good and so are some of the other dishes. I would have given them a 5 star but the food is inconsistent. Sometimes the pizza comes out over cooked and the crust can be crunchy. 1 time we even had our 'buffalo wing' appetizer come out still frozen. That was over a year ago but the consistency in the food isn't quite there yet. I have faith though, the atmosphere is great and the beer on tap is excellent. I enjoy a good pint of the blond they have and would highly recommend you try it.

My favorite thing here is the brown sugar mozzarella bread. Never would have thought of that in a million years! I really enjoy getting a pizza with white sauce, bacon, chicken, and black olives. I've gotten a few of their specialty pizzas but have forgotten the names. Next time we go... I'm getting one of those bucket drinks!

The food was alright, not memorable. I liked the "bucket" drink. It was a mix of rums in a kids bucket with a shovel. Very tasty!! Also my kids were given doe to play with, a lot better than crayons! It was a great family experience so thats what made it a good place to go! There's one going in at The Landing in Renton. We will definitely be trying it out!

Pizza is awesome - try the Walkin Blues or My Generation. If you go at a quiet time, you're okay. If you go at a busy time, expect to wait before being seated, before being helped, before being served, before getting refills, etc. You get the drill. Great pizza and we don't have many places to eat out here, but the wait is annoying. Or do take-out!

  • Levi G.

Been here twice now and the pizza is great, but the service is NOT. On my most recent trip, myself and my friends were appalled at the customer service we received during our meal. My friend requested a side of limes with her drink, shouldn't be a problem, right? It did not take only another two separate requests for the limes after the initial order...but THREE requests!!! Each time we asked the server for them again he would respond with the typical "Sure, okay", and then he would just wander around the restaurant aimlessly. It was odd to say the least. So, finally the limes came and we put in our order. We didn't wait too long for food which was fortunate. Food came and some of us had asked for a side of ranch with our pizza. Again, not one time, not two, but three times for him to go and get some ranch. At this point we began to question how sober he was by his body language and overall demeanor! Something was off! And to add to that, waters for our table never even came. I work in a restaurant and if I even exhibited 10% of this kind of behavior I would definitely be written up. At this point, we were all so frustrated and we were here for a birthday dinner. Really disappointing! Maybe the server will get the message that was reflected in his tip, or lack there of. This place has great food, but I don't know if I can come back only to leave annoyed!

Amazing! I absolutely love this restaurant. Whenever I am back in town I make it a point to go because I can't get enough of their pizza, cheese bread, and most importantly "The Buckets". I do not think the design of the restaurant is an inconvenience or distracting because of where the bar is. Most restaurants today have the bar right in the middle of the establishment so this place is actually better than the standards of today. I have never had any problems going here and thoroughly enjoy going with my family. Every time I have gone to The Rock it has been busy with a bit of a wait but that is only because it is so popular and has great food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone; you won't be disappointed.

The Buckets are great and so is the Cheese Bread but that is about it. I use to love The Rock but I have been underwhelmed the last few times I have been there. They have gone down hill a bit.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Burgers

Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.

Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States.
