The food is awesome and my hats off to the chefs. The service is amazing in fact Rachelle and Kyle are the best and will not let you down. This is the best home-cooked meal restaurants in the Puget Sound and is a must try.

I recently went to Nikki's and had a Cheeseburger and fries. It was good to very good. The Waitress was very quick and alert. I recommend Nikki's and will visit again soon!

Five stars for food and service. Kyle was great, firiendly, and an excellent server. We have always had great food and service. But i give zero stars for HOT environment. It is hotter than the devil in Washington state, but you won't escape from the heat and humidity here. My hubby, mother and i agreed it felt like there was no air conditioning. We asked our server and he said it was running but takes awhile to kick in. Kick in? That sounds like they just turned it on and this is at six pm. They also serve lunch so you would think on a 95 degree day they would turn it on at lunch time. We were all sweating by the time we left and i boxed up most of my meal to take home. It was so hot, someone could pass out from overheating. I really feel for the workers rushing around in such hot conditions. I'm writing this review to inform management while my family and I love this restaurant, you SERIOUSLY need to get your air conditioning fixed. We will definitely return, it just won't be until October, unless we are informed the air conditioning is fixed before that time.

Always had good fresh food and support friendly staff. Prices are more than fair for their serving sizes. Excellent.

Decided to go back and was even more disappointed. Food is mediocre and overpriced. Had half of the chicken ceasar which was just under $12 plus kids chicken nuggets. Nuggets were overcooked. Chicken ceasar was just okay. Both plates were unnecessarily overloaded with garnish. Best thing I can say is that the servers are good. Won't be going back anytime soon, if ever

BEWARE OF NIKKI'S.... Terrible food, even worse service. I don't normally say bad things about small businesses, as I would love to see most businesses succeed, but the experience I had here at NIKKI'S is something that everyone needs to beware of!! I Went here for lunch, I asked the waitress to check with the cook to see if the soup was gluten free, as I have SEVERE celiac disease. The waitress Judy assured me that clam chowder was indeed gluten free, I was shocked and even made her double check! She brought the clam chowder out and it was so salty and could hardly eat it because it was so terrible!! Then I me and my friend ordered a salads because the chowder was SOO bad, and when they brought it out the salad was soggy and brown because the lettuce was so old.... The waitress never checked on us. 20 minutes later when I got home I was so sick and throwing up for hours! For someone with celiac, it can be very dangerous to consume gluten and cause many complications... I decided to call NIKKIS to double check that the chowder was gluten free, and when I called i asked what soups they were serving, they said chowder and split pea.. I asked are any of these gluten free?! And she came back and said "NO"...... Then I told her the story of what had happened to me earlier while I was there and the lady on the phone says "what do you want me to do about it"..... I explained to her how sick it made me and how I may need to go to the hospital..... She then says "WELL HAVE FUN AT THE HOSPITAL".... I told her to give my phone number to the owner Jeff and have him call me...... He never called, surprise surprise.... I had to drive down there and hunt down the owner Jeff, and when I explained what happened... His explanation was that the chef did not understand what the waitress was asking him..................... SERIOUSLY?!?!? You are going to risk the health of your customers by hiring such incompetent people that they can not communicate properly, or at least ACT concerned that they had made a mistake that caused me to be terribly ill... I have NEVER had such terrible service EVER.... And with such terrible food AND customer service, I don't suspect Nikkis will be around much longer......

Dont even think about it...!! This place is horrible..the only thing worse than there food, is the servers...rude and nasty..the only thing they did right was....they burnt the toast...lucky for me it probably got hot enough to kill the bacteria from the kitchen...and I actually like burnt toast..way beyond the worst of anything ive come across that didnt have plywood over the windows...!!"

Food poisoning!!! My daughter got food poisoning here and she called to let the manager know. She was treated with disrespect and rudeness. The owner would not even say she would look into it. All she had to do was so she was sorry and shed check their procedures. Instead she was rude. We loved this place. I would not eat here. If they won't even double check their food safety. That's an issue.

People everywhere: do not eat or drink here. Bad food, bad service, bad bar and hidden charges everywhere! What do you expect from the people who owned "Gloria's" in Maple Valley?

Well, I just paid $16 for a marginal club sandwich and a sour attitude. As a local diner, we thought this seemed like a nice place for lunch. We noticed the portions were large, and ordered a club sandwich and told the server we would just share it. Without any further ado, she brought two plates and had split the order. When the bill came, it had an extra $2 charge for splitting the order. We would have been just as happy to share one plate (we didn't ask her to give us two plates) and the waitress told us "it's on the menu" ... and there is a small reference at the bottom of the menu saying "split charge $2." Added to that, the use of any debit or credit card invokes an additional fee from the restaurant, which they say is posted "on their door" (obviously others have complained about this, too, which is why they feel they need to post it). We spoke with the owner, a rather sour woman who made no apologies for the extra prices, basically said they have to cover their costs because of their large portions, and essentially could have been a poster child for poor customer service. Essentially, the diner is more expensive than what you get in food quality or service. It's unfortunate that the friendly servers are hampered by an owner/manager who obviates the good work they are doing with ridiculous policies and an unfriendly, unwelcoming attitude towards her customers. Shame on you. Learn something about customer service, make life easier for your employees, be gracious to your customers, or find another career where you don't have to work with the public or manage people. Not cool.

I would have given zero stars if I could! Why have we tried this place 4 times is beyond me. We just kept hoping it wasn't the norm..terrible is putting it mildly. Boxed, packaged lifeless food. But here is the kicker... watched a child turn around, stand up in a booth and sneeze several times all over an area where the place settings and child's seats are kept. He then started blowing his nose from an obvious cold. I promptly informed our waitress who stated it probably didn't reach. The next waitress I informed just acknowledged what I said and went back to what she was doing. The first waitress then took the wet towels from that area and wiped down a table and seats and placed the dirty rags back in the same place but draped them over the high chairs. Upon leaving I asked for the manager and was told she wasn't there yet but that they were aware not to use that stock. So why did the first waitress use the towels?? Come to Nikki's for bad food and a cold on the side.

This was our first time here and we are impressed! You guys have to try their cinnamon roll its homemade. Best cinnamon roll I've had in a long time.

I only gave this place three stars since I have mixed feelings on this place. I have been there a few times. The staff working the breakfast/lunch is incredible. The food has been tasty with spot on service. The night shift is a different story. I've been there 3 times for dinner and will not be back. We went last night and the waitress got our order wrong, followed up by an hour wait for food in an empty restaurant followed by over cooked food and a non existence waitress. My review for the breakfast lunch staff and cooks would be a 5. The dinner crew a 1

Terrible mashed potatoes. Everything else was of great quality, tasted fantastic until you got to the mashed potatoes. They are powdered mashed potatoes that came from a box. Was grainy and you could see the flakes.

Great breakfast place was traveling and stopped in. The service was quick and friendly. The omelettes are big 4 eggs plus fillings, only disappointment was I couldn't get a Greek omelette but I survived

  • Steve C.

Good amount of food at great prices. The happy hour nachos was a lot for a little price. The service was fast and my server Cindy was very informative. It feel like "Cheers" kind of place as everyone seemed to know everyone as they walked through the door. I will come back.

I ordered hot wings and they were cold on the inside and so I asked if they were pre-cooked, she said yes (at least it was not raw). Then was served a pre-made frozen burger patty and it tasted like shit. Gave me a lot of fries that was cool. Forgot my mushrooms. And she didn't say sorry for any of this. Yuck! OH and my tummy...don't ask.

I like it friendly staff and pretty good food for the price Their steaks are pretty good for a restaurant. Lets face it if you want the best fillet you have ever had in your life then go to a steak house. Drinks from the bar a great as well. I recomend this place.

  • Mathew M.

The breakfast buffet is like a complimentary buffet at a hotel. Dennys has higher quality food on their value menus this is not a place to go to enjoy the tastes of a small local business. Service started ok then when we finished it took over 10 min to get the check and our coffees were empty. I give 2 stars because the place was mostly clean and nothing really awful happened.

    (2)
  • Bry M.

Had dinner here last Sunday. Kyle, my waiter, was the best. The food was alright, but I will most definitely return because of the great service. It looked like there was only one server working, but I was still very pleased. He did a great job. Also, the host was very nice, and the restaurant is very clean.

    (5)
  • Peter A.

Look. They serve drinks and give you food...anything more shouldn't be expected from this very bland place. If you only want a burger and fries with a beer, there should be no complaints. But if you order a pasta with a mixed drink...expect the drink to be mostly soda and the pasta to be covered in a flavorless cream sauce. If you have to go here, just get really drunk and order a burger. Problem solved.

I just walked out for the second time in 8 months due to a nasty bartender. She was rude and ignored me again. I thought maybe she was having a bad day the last time, apparently not. There were two tables and 3 people sitting at the bar including myself. Not what would be considered busy. The only thing any good there is the steaks, which is what I went there for. I will never go back again and plan to tell everyone I know not to bother. Owners should reconsider the people they have as help. And maybe read these reviews.

Food was ok. Unfortunately it's not scratch made. Portions were crazy big... Too big. The only thing I really liked was our server Bobbie. She was great.

I have visited Nikki's many times for various occasions! Big group breakfasts, small lunch with my mom and son, a quick nightcap (drinks and fries) at the bar with a friend... from every angle, the place is great on service, and "okay" on food. There are some dishes that are yummy, and others that are lacking. I will say this, avoid the chicken fried steak (more greasy than crispy, and way too thick). Go for the scramble or a sandwich. Breakfast buffet is usually a good bet. I will keep coming back because all the waitresses are wonderful and it's so close to home.

    (4)
  • Lisa T.

The service was excellent he was very attentive! I order the chicken fried steak with calm chowder and my daughter had the kids fish chips. The portion size is what you get for little pricey meal. The soup was good but the chicken steak was mediocre along with mashed potatoes.

  • Cindi B.

Just had the worst meal of my life! The restaurant is dirty. The both seat was ripped with duct tape on it. The food was easy over priced and awful. The portions ate enormous. My granddaughters ordered fish and chips while holding the child menu (one is 4 years old) and was brought adult entrees. The server said she didn't knew they wanted kids entrees. The fettuccine had raw various and cauliflower in it. The baked patio my grandson had was fine. Service was awful. Never again!

I've come here a bunch of times, sit down and ordered to go. Every time the service has been horrible!! That staff totally unfriendly, never ever greeted with a smile. Always act like it's annoying I came in for food. Today I have sat for 30 minutes already on take out order. A couple was told to wait and another person sat before them who walked in after. I gave two stars because I have watched the kitchen be totally on it! There were six orders up in the window and the servers just standing around not taking people their food!!! I get food to go because the service is sooooo horrible when I come to eat. Not to mention the food is over priced for what you get! I think this will be my last time at Nikki's.

Bar is great I had there waffle fries loaded it was great , drinks are ok kinda $$$ but good I wish they could of expand there bar. Bartender is nice but I got looky loos cuz I'm at this type of bar. IM FROM ALASKA I was raised on the music playing it did not bother me. I had a great time will come again

We ate breakfast here and although the food was good, it was high priced for the same thing you could get at Denny's for half the price. The staff was very nice and the restaurant was pleasant and clean.

  • Regina C.

Service was ok. Food was gross. BLT- was slathered in mayo. So much mayo the toast was soggy. Yuck. Turkey club was the same. My daughters got the Sunday buffet...we will not be back.

  • Robert G.

We have had lunch here several times and have been VERY happy. The food is good, fresh and there's lots of it. This morning however we decided to try there buffet, BIG mistake. The "food" was BAD. The French toast is microwaved, the gravy came from a can and the "cheese" on the omelettes tasted just like cheese wiz. The food was all at room temperature. This was the worst brunch I have ever had. I would have given a 5 star if I hadn't had made the decision to try their brunch. Never again.

  • Annalee D.

The salads are out of this world! Not too much dressing, fresh and crispy just like it like it. The pasta dishes are okay but the sauce tastes a little canned. What I will say is they treat their regulars like gold. My elderly parents visit Nikki's once a week and always come back and tell me a sweet story about their server. I have never been in the bar but have heard from friends it is fun and serves good drinks. It may be a little pricey but loyalty is worth something.

So, I was in a hurry this morning and thought I would give this place another try. I have been here twice before. The first time service was horrible and the food mediocre. On the second, the service was horrible and the food worse. I mean half frozen and uncooked. They STILL insisted on charging me for the whole meal. On this visit I was guardedly hopeful. I came in and had to wait for a table even though the placee was over half empty. I looked at the menu and decided to just go for their buffet. I mean, how bad could it be? It was inedible. Lets start from the beginning. The bacon was thin food service dripping with grease. It had almost no flavor and was slimy with oil. Instant heartburn. Next came the sausage. How the HELL do you cook ALL flavor out of sausage? Again, food service garbage. I honestly think that the Great Chef of the Universe should send down fire from heaven to save us all from this sausage. Finally we reach the eggs or rather I did and it was the final straw. The "omelets" were rubber and the only flavor was from the processed cheese on top which was bad anyway. The scrambled eggs were not even that tasty. They were dry and lacking in anything that tasted like it could come from a chicken. I have had better army surplus powdered eggs. I am a big, huge even, fan of hashbrowns and I couldn't bring myself to try their little morsels of horror. Bottomeline...it is a good thing they have a bar. As a matter of fact they should stop trying to fool the world and themselves and close the restaurant and just go with booze. This places food is only fit for drunks and skid road.

Looking for a big menu and plenty of seating...Nikki's! My family of 3 probably took 20 minutes to look at the menu our 1st time. It's a lot to choose from and great food. On a Friday night, no wait. Will be back again, and again. Ooh, and PIES!

What a nice place to dine. The servers and host were very pleasant and the streak was very tender and juicy. The Sunday breakfast buffet was a bit pricy but very good food. There was a band on Saturday night and the crowd in the bar was really diverse. Cute old couples and thirty somethings all out on the dance floor together.

Stopped in for Breakfast this moning. Got the Biskeits and gravy. Not impressed. Way too much flower in everything. The gravy tasted like flower, the biscuit tasted like flower, I couldn't finish it. I got a doggie bag to do and my dog wouldn't eat it either.

I love the Cesar salad (any salad) the lettuce is so crisp and fresh! Their bar steak cooked just the way you want it and the staff is so friendly and attentive you can't ask for more.

I was here on Saturday night with the fam for one of my husband's friend's birthday dinner. The staff was really accomodating to a large group. We were given our own section and ended up using 4 separate tables. We did run into a few problems because of the size of the group. First - our table was only given a children's menu even though it was a check of 3 "adults" and 1 child. Anytime the waitress came into the area while everyone was deciding what to eat and drink she hurried off before we could ask for a few more so we ended up using a couple of our friend's menus from the next table over. The next - we were never offered refills on our waters or sodas. That wouldn't be such a huge deal if one of the kids didn't just want water. I will say they were on top of our bar orders and kept those coming! Also, when the check came no one ever picked it up. Thankfully we paid in cash and didn't need change but had we not we would have been there forever! The good: -The salads - my husband and step-daughter really liked their Caesars (even though they came with tomato, that's a little strange) and I enjoyed my side salad. Their Thousand Island was really good! -The butter that came with the bread - it wasn't freezing cold! Easy to spread. Nice. - Our waitress was very sweet and answered any questions we had nicely and quickly. -Our food came out quickly once we ordered it. -$80 check for 3 "adults" and 1 child (one of the adults is 13) - I had 2 drinks and my husband had 2 or 3 beers. Can't beat that. The bad: -Hubby and I both ordered steaks. His medium rare and mine medium. His came out rare and mine medium rare. Gross!! -Food came out cold (weird since it came out pretty fast, too) -My "Oscar" topping for my steak smelled reaaaaaaalllly fishy. It made me really suspicious so I didn't eat much of it. -The mashed potatoes definitely came from a mix - It's so easy to make real mashed potatoes!!! -No one was offered refills on sodas and water came way late in the meal. I get that liquor has a larger profit margin but we had kids with us. I would be willing to try breakfast here. I imagine they would be pretty good. But dinner? No. We don't end up down this way very often so I'll find someplace else!

Horrible service!!!!! Our waitress was to busy talking to her co-workers. The food (breakfast) was good! Large portions! We will try again but not if we have the same waitress. :(

Nikki's Cocktail Lounge Live Music Gets 5 Stars in My Book The Restaurant gets a 3.5 Star though and the drink prices get 3 stars [5 stars with Fri/Sat no cover live music]. I've eaten at the Sunday brunch buffet.....the 4 star way to eat there. The regular menu is a 3.5 star; but lack of BOGOs or Restaurant.com make it 3 star in comparison with places with decent coupons.

When we finally visited this restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised! :) It was clean and well lit. The service was very good. We were both surprised at the variety offered in the menu. The staff was accommodating when it came to special requests. The portion sizes were generous and the prices reasonable. We'll be heading back to try more of their menu!

This place has the biggest employee turn around I have ever seen, and once witnessing how the owner treats her employees, I can see why. I've always heard horror stories about this place, but we just kept going in because we loved the bar tenders and the food. Over the past year, we could see the morale of all of the waitresses and bar tenders dwindle away from bubbly and outgoing to miserable. We finally had enough of watching it happen, we (and several others) have decided to follow their ex employees to other businesses. In order to keep good help, you need to treat them with respect. I do not know how much longer this place is going to be open. It's a shame, because the location and food were great. We just didn't want to watch it anymore.

A bit over priced but the portions were big. Salad was not very good the next day though.

Was looking for a place to have a beer and kick back for a few, while in the area and this place was the best I can find. The bar was having live entertainment, a plus in my book. I enjoyed that the people in the area were mature. So this is a huge plus. There bread is good. The butter when you put it on is amazing. Pros: Service is above average Friendliness is good Atmosphere very welcoming. Wait staff very knowledgeable on drink selections! Cons: Prices are a little high, but well worth it. Definitely worth coming to for a quiet evening, a drink or listen to live music. Check this place out people! And enjoy

Haven't been in the bar, but the restaurant we tried twice. The first time we barely go service, the food was tasteless and over cooked and we almost had to walk out without getting anything, then the waitress showed, then we almost had to walk out because she wouldn't give us our check, let along refill our drinks that we placed at the end of the table to make it obvious. The second time the service was slightly better, the food okay. Wouldn't go back.

better than IHOP or Sharis, but a bit more expensive. Great food. Good service. Would have given 4 stars for better prices. I've only eaten breakfast there and it was good, but its hard to mess up breakfast.

This was our 3rd or 4th visit here. Food has always been decent and a good value. We stopped into the bar with friends and ordered drinks on a Saturday afternoon. After looking at the menu I ordered a salad to share with my husband. The other couple also split a chicken dinner. The problem I had was when the bill arrived we were each charged $2.00 extra for split meals. The menu stated there were no splits on salads, so I ordered it and my husband didn't order anything. It came out on one big plate which we set between us to share. The other couple were given an extra plate to split their own food. If they are going to charge to split meals then they should take the time to split the food in the kitchen and bring it out on 2 plates. Setting an extra plate on the table and tacking extra on the bill is ridiculous. We split meals all the time, and I don't mind paying an extra charge for it. But put it on a plate if you're going to charge me for it. This was no fault of the waitress who had just started work that day. Perhaps she should have had more training before waiting on tables. (poor training is not the servers fault).

This place is GREAT! I have been here a few times, and enjoyed every visit. They serve BIG portions. So come hungry. Had there hot beef sandwich, with waffle fries, last time. Served up just like mom made it(ask for gravy poured over your fries). Great beer on tap, food, and, live music, on weekends. You will have a good time. Cheers!

The drinks are decent but the price is a little out there. Food is ok... Definitely good for portions... But Seems like Denny's quality. Service.... Now that's a joke. Sat in the bar but unless you are a regular you can forget about good service. So, if you want to commit and make sure you're here on a daily.. This place isn't worth it.

    (3)
  • Sierra F.

Great breakfast, they have a $5 special everyday and the portions are large. Usually places that put things are special seem to skimp on the portions but not here! We've been back a few times and the waitresses are super friendly, definitely not somewhere that forgets about their customers as soon as they seat them. Also it's very clean inside the restaurant, altogether it's awesome!

There isn't really anything special or different about this place. Cold mashed potatoes. Nice staff though.

Me and my partner had dinner here the other night . We were told about it from some friends . We drove from North Seattle for dinner and we will do it again . Nikkis is quite and romantic. It also has a warm and family friendly atmosphere . The service was over the top you don't find service like this even at upscale restaurants! Not to many restaurants have the manager come by and also check how everything is going. I wish more restaurants would do this. Food was very reasonable and delicious. They also were not pushy to get us in and out which is very nice to be able to relax and take your time . Will be back soon! See you soon , Nikki's

The staff was extremely welcoming & helpful. I had the Chicken Sinatra, which was even better than anticipated. The sauce was something I could not pinpoint ingredients for, which I like - the flavors meld well. The portions are huge, even the included dinner salad. The steak my husband ordered was cooked exactly as ordered, which is unusual. The only thing he complained about is he didn't care for the sautéed mushrooms, but I liked them. We are vegetable lovers, of which they served an extensive variety of fresh, perfectly cooked veggies.

  • Nikki M.

Let me start by saying that Nikki's is substantially better than 272 grill. That being said I think there are a few things that could make this place much better. We were seated right away. Service was friendly albeit a little spacey (she kept forgetting things and coming back to the table). The salads were brought out and they were iceberg lettuce with way too much dressing on it. I ordered the Cajun chicken tortellini and my husband had the almond chicken. The tortellini was WAY too much food. I could've eaten it for 3 meals. It was also saturated with sauce. The flavor of the meal was really good though and the chicken was tasty. My husband liked his meal. The best part of the meal was the vanilla bean cheesecake!! One of the best I've had. I will definitely eat here again. Will probably be trying breakfast next time

  • Pat M.

Like its sister restaurant (Gloria's in Maple Valley), Nikki's menu seems to be stuck decades into the past, and their menu items seem pitched to patrons who are of a certain age where a soggy iceberg lettuce salad is considered desirable fare for a night out. Even accepting the dated approach, Nikki's fails on the quality and consistency of its food, and the surprisingly high pricing. It feels like a perfect candidate for the "Restaurant Impossible" show on the Food Network. Nikki's has a Facebook page but does not post its menu online, which tells us something. If they are turning a profit, it is probably coming from their bar, although there are now many other options for cocktails in Covington and Maple Valley. This space was originally a Godfather's Pizza, and for a while it became a steakhouse (of sorts) called 2-7-2. I'd be a lot happier if it became a pizza parlor again.

We have ate here on several occasion and each time the service was getting worse. I decided to eat breakfast their today and found out the service was not much better than for dinner. The breakfast was good when it came. I kept looking around the trying to find out names on some of the server but no one had a name tag and even if I wanted to discuss with the manager I would not have a name. Every one of the server did not look like they was happy. The hostess was not friendly and she watch people like they was going to sneak out of the restaurant. The mens restroom was dirty and I was uncomfortable even to wash my hands. I think Covington health department is not doing the job. When niki first open up they was good server and the owner was always around. We ate there about 2 month ago for dinner and both of us got sick the next day. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that would like friendly service and would not recommend this for any type of dinner.

This use to be My wife and I's favorite lunch date spot. But today when we went in it changed. My wife had a huge black hair in her salad. After our sever took the salad she brought a new one and her lunch. My wife had told our server she was not hungry and she felt sick to her stomach. before she brought us our bill she made sure my wife did not eat any of her lunch or she would have to "Charge us" for her food. The young man that was a host was amazing in his actions. He must have said sorry at least 5 times and made us feel as we where appreciated as a customer. It will be a while before we come back and wish you had a better way to train your servers on how to treat unhappy costumers!

Great Fish and chips. Big portions, i posted a previous picture of them previously. They give you 3-4 Huge pieces of fish, and the tartar sauce is homemade, and done well. Great for fish and chip lovers!

Have been here twice; once for dinner and once for breakfast. Dinner was horrible and fairly pricey so I swore I wouldn't go back. Over a year later, I wanted to go out for breakfast but didn't want to go to IHOP or Shari's so thought I'd give Nikki's a shot again. Glad I did. I was greeted and seated right away. Coffee came right away after sitting down and while not the best, served its purpose. I ordered the Country Grill, hash browns with peppers, onions, and sausage with two eggs and english muffin. I also ordered a side of country gravy as I love it over my hash browns and thought it would be a good addition. Food came in a good amount of time and was hot. It needed some salt but for me that's not a horrible thing as I like my things less salty than you usually get at a restaurant. I like my hash browns a little more crispy than what they were but it was still tasty. The gravy tasted like a packaged mix but was okay on the breakfast. My english muffin was unbuttered. I thought that was odd. I don't care much for jelly/jam on my toast but really had no choice short of asking for her to bring me butter. The eggs were cooked perfectly (over easy) and served on top of the hash browns. My server was Renee and she was great; checked back often, kept my coffee cup and water filled and was attentive. The portion was HUGE and I had enough left over to have another breakfast for tomorrow (and I'm not a small eater) and my total bill came to $12.50 (only .50 for a small bowl of country gravy! I was surprised and pleased.) I could easily go back again for breakfast but likely not for dinner.

Enjoyed a very nice breakfast at Nikki's today and I look forward to returning. We were greeted and seated immediately. The environment is clean and modern but not fussy. Our server recommended a breakfast special, cinnamon and almond french toast with eggs and bacon or sausage, for $5.50. Menu options for breakfast averaged around $9. The special was too good of a value to pass up. Service was very friendly, and our coffee cups were never even half empty before being refilled. Very pleasant and attentive. Our specials arrived with five pieces of bacon each, eggs nicely cooked, and four half slices of french toast. It was a great value for a very tasty breakfast. We took a peek at the dinner menu to find burgers around $10, pasta and salads around $12, other entrees around $15, and steaks and prime rib around $20. A little pricey for an everyday casual menu, but reasonable enough to bring the family for dinner. If they have dinner specials with the same value as our breakfast today, that would be nice. I'm very happy to have a reasonable dining option in Covington after the debacle of the 272.

I had a wonderful meal at Nikki's! Ordered sirloin steak off the senior menu and was delighted they offered vegetables as a side. Very nice decor, good service, great food. I will be back!

My husband and I ate here the day after Christmas for lunch. I ate there when it was 272 and never had been back. We were seated immediately and the restaurant was probably 2/3 full. A good sign to start! My husband had a beer, nice...but $4.85? We split a reuben and he ordered a dinner salad to go with his side. His salad arrived quickly and the dressing was good, but the salad was average...lettuce, tomatoes, purchased croutons and sunflower seeds. The reuben was great, though. Lots of pastrami and a good ratio of cheese, dressing and sauerkraut on marbled rye bread. The fries were large steak fries, with a good amount of seasoning on them. A little note...the ketchup bottle we received had never been opened. I like that...usually I think restaurants just refill old ones, I'm never sure how old they are...just a little quirk of mine:) Lunch for two for about $20 works for me. The food arriving around us looked excellent as well. They offer waffle fries and sweet potato fries, which I'll have to try next time.

All that I can say is this will go into FILTERED or be deleted but YUUUCK! Stay away. I am not going to bother with details except the people that are writing the reviews giving this place a thumbs up are not what they appear to be. Yelp, you need to do a better job at managing these out of control issues. And Nikki's clean your act up. When you respond to a customer - they are always right, when someone writes a thumbs down, try to learn from it rather than intimidation, poor spelling and insults you can't back up. All people want is good food, good service, mistakes to be corrected, to be valued as a customer that puts money in your pocket and at least try NOT responding rather than hurling insults at people that didn't have a great experience. You'll run your restaurant into the ground, after all - only so many friends can keep you afloat.

Stopped here a couple of nights ago and will certainly be back! Bring your appetite here! Looking at the menu I thought the prices were a little high but when our plates came they were piled high with good! I had the Reuben Sandwich and sweet potato fries and it was fabulous! My daughter had fish and chips and the fish filets were huge not to mention they were laid on a huge pile of fries! We brought half our meals home for another meal! The service was fast and very good! Like I said, we will be back soon!

My husband and I had Brunch here today. It was terrible. The pre-made omlets were over cooked and burnt on the bottom. The french toast crust was so hard I couldn't cut with my fork. Again, they were either over cooked or sat too long. cube potatoes were dry. Sausages were overcooked on the ends. We only got one coffee refill and that way shortly after we got our coffee so she really only topped it off. Dessert selection was terrible, also. One item tasted like day old cinnamon rolls with whipped Cream on top to make it look better.....gross. Restaurant was hot and muggy inside indicating there was no air conditioning. Had to ask for our bill so we could get out of there. We will never ever go here again.

My husband and I love Nikki's! We've enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner there and have never had a disappointing meal. The food is really good, simple, and delicious--which can be harder to find than one would think! The waitstaff is very friendly, and we've already come to feel like regulars. I would most definitely recommend Nikki's! The nachos in particular are amazing; again just simple and good packed in a big portion. :)

12-22-11 Def worth checking out !! After hearing good things about the new Restaurant Nikki's that had opened up in the old 272 location in covington, I was excited to give it a try, the Covington area is really building up and Applebees is just not doing it for me. My girlfriend and I decided to stop in for lunch after doing some volunteer work with a Christmas toy drive, and boy am I glad we did ! We arrived around 2 since we had a busy morning, not your typical lunch hour, but the place was still pretty full of customers (good sign). We were seated quickly and our waitress was very prompt in giving us our menus and getting our drink orders started, always a plus ! Food I ordered the French Dip, personal favorite of mine and it was prepared exactly how I like it. The meat was sliced thin and was not fatty the Au Jus was hot and full of flavor. I appreciate it when a place serves things the way they are suppose to be prepared and don't try to hard to "put their own twist" on classic meals. My meal came with fries, I had the option for steak, waffle, sweet potato or onion rings ! I went with the waffle fries which were particularly good dipped in the BBQ sauce. My Girlfriend ordered the "half order" of a Chicken salad and she def got my monies worth, it looked a lot like a full size to me. The chicken was grilled nicely and all of the ingredients were fresh, she always asks for her dressing on the side, and they were not stingy giving her ample. Her salad also came with hot dinner rolls which was a nice touch. Overall- We will definitely be going back to Nikki's in the future to try out more of their menu. The food was very good and the prices were very reasonable for what you get. Our waitress was very pleasant and was able to tell us about all the different dishes, also we were informed that they plan to begin serving Breakfast there soon which is a big plus since I work shift work and look forward to a good place to eat breakfast when I get off. Check it out.

Nice place with a classy interior. Friendly service, and their eggs benedict are to die for. Particularly recommended as a breakfast place; lunch and dinner are so-so in comparison. The little cream jugs on each table are a fun and unusual touch.

We ordered four meals plus a kid's meal. Everything was absolutely wonderful. I will certainly be going again. The atmosphere was a bit dressier than compeltely casual. I came casually dressed and didn't feel out of place, but there were a few dressed up more than myself. While it seems like a bit nicer place, my toddler was ok. I didn't think to ask, but we were not automatically offered crayons or something to color on. Kid's meal - My son got a grilled cheese with french fries and jello. He ate everything very quickly, so I assume it must have been great. I would have liked an option to sub out the fries for something healthier like fruit. He doesn't usually get fried food. I ordered teriyaki chicken breast with mashed potatoes. The potatoes automatically came with gravy which I don't usually enjoy, but it was the best! Two smaller chicken breasts seemed like a perfect size too. I really enjoyed it. At $15 for the dish I was hesitant to order it, but was worth the money. FYI - They do not accept AMEX.

Looked so forward, but was so disappointed........ Hubby & I had eaten at the 272. While good, prices were too high. I told husband, "this place will never survive in Covington". We are pretty down to earth in this part of the county. Give us good food, at a good price, delivered with love, and we are yours. I hate to say it, but I'm predicting the same fate for Nikki's. The sign is inviting, and from all outward indications, one would think it's a perfect fit for Covington. I felt unwelcome, and the food was just average. We both were wishing we'd headed to Renton or Southcenter area for dinner. I do believe Nikki's can turn around, so if any owners happen to read this, please make me feel welcome when I come in the door. Customers want to feel welcome and embraced as soon as they come in; it's their first impression. Smile at us, say hello, ask us how we're doing, make us feel like we matter. If you take a look at successful companies, Costco, Amazon, Starbucks, etc, they provide top notch service at great prices. In the airline industry, look at Alaska Airlines. They keep winning award after award for their customer service. Alaska can sometimes be higher than other fares, so why do people fly them? Because passengers feel warm, embraced, and like they matter. You're only as good as the people you hire, whether that is front of the house or back. The weakest link in the chain can break you. Hire strong links, and support them. Employees of the above named companies are loyal and long term, because they feel they have the support of management. Please remember that trickle down effect. I will give Nikki's one more chance. I hope the experience is much better. If it's not, I will never visit again; and poison to businesses, I will tell all my friends and family to steer clear as well.

Great service and tasty food. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas which were pretty good. I then decided to ruin my little diet I was trying to keep and order dessert. $2.99 got me a huge piece of chocolate cake with a lot of vanilla ice cream! I shared it with my cousin and we both had enough. The food here is a cut above Denny's or Shari's Maybe a little better than Applebee's. But, the dessert was fantastic and not very expensive. I would go back for sure.

Tonight my husband, daughter and I looked forward to trying the new restaurant in town verses going to the same places we always go to. We were seated and given water right away. The waitress came to our table quickly and told us the specials and took our drink order. We each decided to try something different to get a variety. I had the bar steak, that was a special, figuring if it's the special it must be good. My husband had the Chicken Oscar and my daughter a plain cheeseburger. We were given a basket with two rolls (obviously store bought) for three people to share and were never asked if we wanted/needed more. My husband ordered the blue cheese dressing on his salad and said it tasted like ranch and lacked blue cheese chunks. My tomato tortellini soup had a good flavor, but looked like it was made in a blender as i couldn't identify a single tortellini and ther was zero broth. When our meals came they looked good, but I was a little taken aback when asked if there were any other steak sauces I wanted as the waitress had already set down three different bottles. My loaded baked potato was very good; the steak, although a perfect medium rare, had zero flavor, no spice at all, not even salt and pepper. I salt and peppered it but it still lacked flavor. After eating about 5 bites I brought the rest home for my dogs. My husband's Chicken Oscar was also completely devoid of flavor as was the rice that he ordered with it. Surprise, my daughter's cheeseburger was also completely without a single spice. The waitress recommended the 7 layer chocolate cake so still being hungry I ordered it to go. This cake was the best part of the night, although it was also obviously store bought, but very good. I continue to be floored by the lack of anything resembling good customer service at most establishment in covington and Nikki's is no exception. They were nice enough (water and beverages were refilled without us asking), but never tried to interact beyond the basics (we would have left a far more generous tip if they had). We also paid steak house prices for Denny's quality. I'd love for Nikki's to take the feedback and make some changes. It would be nice to have another good restaurant in Covington. We will not be back unless we see tons of positive reviews from satisfied customers as we hate throwing away money. Good Luck.

My husband and I went here this afternoon for lunch because I love their Chinese Chicken Salad. Not feeling very hungry, but knowing we needed something for lunch, we ordered a full size and planned to share it. We did notice the option to order the half size and thought about ordering two, but I clearly remembered the "half" I ordered the previous time being very large, only slightly smaller than the full size. Once we ordered and informed the waitress that we'd be sharing, her attitude automatically turned from warm and friendly to cold and annoyed. After getting our bill and noticing that they charged us $1 for the extra plate, the waitress proceeded to scold us about how they aren't supposed to allow us to share a full salad because they have the half salads on the menu (which is more than half the price of a full). I can cope with the $1 fee for the extra plate, as that is common practice, but I don't appreciate being told what I can do with the meal I purchased with my money. The concept of telling your customers what they can do with the food they purchased is absolutely ridiculous. What if I had ordered the salad to go? Would they tell me that I can't share with anyone in my household? It only makes sense to dictate what a person can do with their food when that food is coming from a buffet.

Nikki's is a good place to go for a good meal. The Breakfast's are large, the coffee is good and the "all you can eat" buffett is awesome. The service is improving each week.

Rubbery Prime Rib, Uncooked Chicken Fried Steak, took 1 1/2 hours to receive the meal, 2 mixed drinks (Long Island and Mojito) that were not mixed correct at all and then the manager never came to the table after requested. Very sad. The salad and rolls were the only good part of the meal.

Meh - not good. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger. Buns are straight out of the bag, burger looks like it came from the freezer at Costco. a little greasy, and neither the burger nor the fries were up to temp. They really need to press and season their own burgers, and grill the buns. Waitress was great. I sincerely hope their other food is better.

We were looking forward to checking out the Restaurant but were sadly disappointed in the service. We walked in, waited for 15 minutes and two other couples received menus and drinks without anyone acknowledging us. We do know people are busy but there are too many places not to receive stellar customer service. Bad customer service. We won't return.

I like all kinds of foods and all kinds of dining experiences, and to be honest I'm spoiled by the time I spend in Seattle. But I live close to Nikki's. Man, I so wanted to love Nikki's... but I don't. But I don't hate it either. It probably helps to clarify what kind of place this is: Nikki's is neither a diner nor fine dining. Not inventive, it falls into what I call the "basic restaurant food" category. They are a local business and they win points with me for that. Prices are not a bargain, but it's no soulless chain and I want them to succeed. Some of the servers seemed overwhelmed and under-experienced when I was there, but that doesn't bother me. My kid was fine. Personally I've never liked the decor, but I like the evening lighting. If you're reading this review, here is my take-away: it's worth it for the top sirloin and fettuccine. I'm not a big steak-eater, and I'm not a fan of fettuccine, but the staff recommended both... and won me over. They hand-cut the sirloin, and the cream sauce on the pasta is serious. I've eaten several things on the menu, both lunch and dinner. The cooked veggies were perfectly tender-crisp and never overcooked (plus!) but the salads were mostly iceberg (minus!). I've never eaten breakfast there, but I will. And I'll try other stuff too. But if they changed the name to "Nikki's Top Sirloin and Fettuccine" I think that would be all I need to know.

this place serves food that would have been served in a 1950s greasy spoon. stuff I haven't seen in ages but unfortunately not even as good as the old greasy spoon. service is not good, decor poor, and definitely too expensive for the awful food. Why can't Covington get an upscale restaurant with a good chef.

We were very optimistic about coming back here after 272 went away. What a let-down. I try to not review after only two visits, but this place went south after our first horrible visit. Our first time we had a party of four and waited for a long time to be waited on after being seated. That time we had horrible food. Tasteless meats with only one round of drinks. We would have for sure ordered more of our waitress would have been around to ask. The second time was worse. We waited forever to be seen by our waitress. And the place only had about three more tables than ours with customers at them. We each ordered ice teas that were only filled once. When the waitress finally came and took our order she kept all the place settings and menus on the table. We were a party of two and she had piled everything for 4 people. I walked up to the hostess station and returned our menus to get them out of our way. We had to ask two times where our salads were only to receive them 3 minutes before our meals. Had our meals been warm, I would have been happy to leave another star. Both meat dishes were stone cold and our potatoes weren't any warmer and one wasn't even cooked all the way through. (a baked potato should never be crunchy no matter how you spin it) After having to flag our waitress down for the second time for our bill, she waited another 15 minutes to run them. When she came back with our checks, she stood over us to watch us sign. (breaking rule #1 of customer service 101) and she asked for our signed copies before we put our pens down because she was "going on break." The food is bad, but the service is worse. There is an air of rudeness over the whole building. You can even hear the kitchen staff complaining about customers from where you sit. (along the half-wall opposite from the windows) Take your meals elsewhere in Covington where your meal will be hot and service will be warm.

Stay Away!!! Last night we decided to check this place out it just opened a couples weeks ago I read 2 reviews on another site that clearly the owner much have wrote because they were glowing and this place is horrible! We get there the hostess sat us and didn't even give us a menu HELLO! Our waitress was fine I actually felt bad for her that she was working at such a crappy place. We get our food mine was very greasy and not hot at all and my boyfriend was ok however not even a 1/3 of the way into it he chomped down on a piece of plastic. After the waitress tried to get the owner to comp his dinner and she refused saying that he ate some of the dinner. I called her over and told her we don't want anything else just take it off she refused again "saying he ate some of it". I tried to explain that this is not how you treat customer especially when you are a new restaurant and she laughed saying "this is our second restaurant and we have been doing this for 20 years I don't care about your review" and just walked away. I posted my thoughts last night on Facebook and several people replied saying they had tried it too and it was bad and would never go back. I would have given this place 0 stars but I had to pick something for the rating. Food is bad and too expensive yes you get a big portion but you pay for and its nasty! I can't wait for this place to shut down Covington will not tolerate a place like this in our city! P.S. here is the private message the owner sent me after reading my review ""Just wanted to let you know of your a ugly fat , sorry excuse me I ment, gehto, ugly fat ..... well you know !" I guess I'm ghetto because we are a bi-racial couple hmmm sorry to hear you're racist it almost 2012 get over it! And that perfectly round little belly that you are calling fat is a baby I'm 6 months pregnant and we both have great jobs and don't need a free meal we paid for mine and left a tip for our waitress who felt bad that you were acting that way. You can have all your friends write all the glowing reviews you want but at the end of the day you better hope they come eat there because we are not the only mixed couple and there are not just white people here in Covington so you might want to watch your racial comments. Your business will never last here.

Decided to write a review for Nikkis after seeing a couple dine and ditch. I was seated nearby and overheard their conversation with the owner. The girl who rated everything with 1 star was obviously out to get a free meal. The owner personally re made the meal and was very apologetic for the mis-Hap. (plastic was actually a piece of crab shell). While they claim to have had an awful experience I rather enjoyed my time there. Good food, good appetizers and great drinks. The crew at Nikkis were very friendly and fun to chat with! I will return again and highly recommend everyone stops by wether for a nice relaxing dinner or a delicious drink in the sleek bar! Check em out! You won't be disappointed!
