High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Great traditional breakfast joint in town in Chelan! They have a very broad menu - ranging from classics (bacon/sausage, eggs, and hash), to baked goods (crepes, waffles, pancakes), omelets and house specialties. They must have just hired a new chef that has a background cooking hispanic/mexican food because huevos rancheros and a ranchero omelet were *new* and looked delicious!! Not your standard greasy spoon, portions were appropriate, served quickly and accurately, good variety of options.

Although the service here was good, the food leaves a lot to be desired. The food I make at home is more tasty than what we ordered here to be honest. The broccoli that comes as a side was overcooked and puke green. For a party of four someone ordered the liver and onions and the meat was burnt, I ordered the chicken fried steak and it lacked seasoning, the gravy tasted like it was from a can. Biscuits and gravy were pretty mediocre. Don't know if the cook was having a bad day or if it's always like this, but it definitely wasn't great.

This place was not good. We ordered the chicken fried steak and the food was less than average. It lacked any salt and the beef just tasted like rubberized Swiss beef. The pancakes were less than average too. Coffee was really bad. Joyce the waitress was terrific and was a great server. But because the food was really not good I will not be going back. Is it just me or Chelan lacks great eats?!

Great diner in downtown Chelan. This is the type of place with big portions and warm service. I got a waffle and pancake special (subbed sausage for a pancake), and slathered everything in their delicious berry syrup. Yum. My wife got the cottage cheese pancakes. There was plenty leftover, because they give you so much food for your money (consider splitting one entree). The coffee wasn't so great -- not worth the two dollars it cost. Overall, this is a homey, nice place to grab breakfast or brunch while in Chelan. I would eat here again.

It is a must when you visit Chelan. Best little breakfast ace around. Not fancy but good food. And every dish comes with their peach and raspberry sauce...yum! We go here for breakfast every time we come to Chelan!

You don't come here to be 'wowed' by the ambience, so get over it. Now that said if you want the traditional "Sunday morning breakfast experience" this place has it in spades. The food comes hot and it comes quickly after it's ordered. The off the menu blueberry pancakes are a particular delight, ask for the berry syrup, hog heaven. Please tell Joyce we said "hey" enjoy!

A group of us came here for marathon and half marathon one weekend. We came here before we headed back to Seattle. Hm... I am not sure why we picked this but sure, the restaurant did take care of us, hungry runners! Well, I would love to order their half price bloody mary but I was heading to a crazy bike ride after lunch and I couldn't really consume alcohol or stuff myself too much. I had two eggs with hashbrown. All the food we ordered around the group seemed pretty good! They had fun with those bloody mary challenge. I love the hospitality. They not only accommodated our big group and separate check, but also refilled my water bottles for my crazy bike ride! Love it! I hope to come back again and take on that bloody mary challenge one of those days!

After a long day trouncing around Lake Chelan, we wanted to stop somewhere to get some dessert. This was one of the few places still open a little later in the evening so after a quick Yelp search, we stopped here. The place wasn't too busy in the evening. They had quite a few items, on the menu for dessert and every one of them was homemade which really helped out the diner feel of this joint. As we were only going for dessert, I can't comment on the regular breakfast, lunch, dinner menus. I will say though, as I sat with my two friends chatting about our journey to Chelan through the snow covered pass of Snoqualmie and the ice and the rain & about life, it was another one of those moments when you just realized how fun & humbling life can be. It was just three people sharing a moment on a short day-cation with not a care in the world. We were just sitting in a diner at 8 o'clock at night, having good conversation over a warm slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream. It kind of reminded me of a "Golden Girls" moment without the "Golden" and the cheesecake and sans one member of the gang......Sophia! So I guess not so much Golden Girls, but you get the point. Anyway, I'm really glad they were open somewhat late. We even thought about going back for breakfast because they had some really great combo deals for a breakfast menu and their breakfast I believe started at 5 or 6 a.m. We ended up going down the street to Campbell's for breakfast but this Apple Cup Café is definitely on my list of places to eat the next time I come to Chelan. Perfect homemade diner style food, in a country style diner setting.

Loved the place. Its a cute little diner with amazing food. I had the chicken salad sandwich and honestly have never had anything like that before. Its a cold sandwich which disappointed me in the beginning as I like my burgers and sandwiches hot. But oh man as I ate the first bite, I was a fan. The celery, walnut and grapes with the house dressing and chicken was just like a meal from heaven. Every bite is savory, the crunch of celery and walnut with the taste of grapes to balance it out. It comes with a side of grapes which i thought was weird in the beginning but that side was just the perfect addition which made the burger feel light. Will definitely visit the place and have it again if I am in the area

Ok all you fancy pants reviewers. This is a diner. In a small town in Eastern Washington. And voted Evening Magazine Best Diner. For a reason. Good home cooking. A staff that is welcoming and makes the patron feel welcome. We've had breakfast hers 3 or 4 times. Great plate every time. Today I had the eggs béarnaise. One of the more interesting béarnaise sauces I've had. In a good way. My husband gets various omelettes and raves every time. It's good old fashioned hard working food.

They have very good food and a good size senior menu and I usually have the steak plate that's always good!!

We had lunch here on a Saturday in June and it was packed but they got us in quickly. The waitress was super friendly and our food was quick. I had a BLT and my husband had a ham on rye with ham&navy bean soup. Mmmmm! Good diner experience!

This food is amazing. If you stop by you have to have the breakfast on a biscuit! It's an entire breakfast platter served biscuits and gravy style it's amazing!

This mom and pop shop get 4 stars. Host was down to earth, funny and chill. My family loved the atmosphere and seriously loved the food. I have picky eaters and they were all satisfied. Coming back again and I had to thank them!

Food was decent. Ambiance is a dive. They serve breakfast all day which is cool. I would come back again if I needed breakfast later in the day. Had the breakfast burrito. All of us asked for crispy bacon but they only figured that out for one person in our party. Food came out fast!

We love this dinner. Spent a week in Chelan and had breakfast here more times then one should mention. The food was awesome and the service was grwat. They also own a coffee shop in the same parking lot - the mocha are wonderful and you can order them when are in the restaurant. Want to go back to Chelan just for The Apple Cups food!

I recently moved to Chelan and this place was our second home when we arrived. We hadn't made any friends yet and were so lonely all winter. If it wasn't for the kind staff at this restaurant (especially Robin) we may have packed it up and moved back to California. Within a couple visits, they were greeting us by name and the regulars were stopping at our table to say hi and tell jokes. We always go for the bar specials which are an insanely good deal. My favorites are Cheeseburger night, Chicken Fried Steak Slider night, and the Steak Dinner night. Where else can you get a decent steak (cooked properly) baked potato, and salad for less than $10? We recently tried their bingo night which is free and hosted by the funniest guy. They definitely go out of their way to provide the locals and tourists with a good time. Good food, good people, and great deals!

Super quality food, generous portions and a great server! we had breakfast in the nondescript little cafe on a Tuesday morning about 9A. When we left an hour later the lobby was packed with folks waiting for a table. There is a drive thru espresso stand we hit on our way out of the parking lot for lattes to go as the local Starbucks had received such poor reviews. The coffee was good there, but the restaurant coffee was even better1

Great place overall and delicious food. It did seem a little dirty with windowsills needing a clean but the service was great and the food was fantastic. Any place where they come by and ask how things are going is usually a place that has good service. They were friendly and asked if we needed more drinks. There were three of us and we had the chicken fried steak, the fish and chips and the eggs bearnaise. The chicken fried steak was tender and had a nice white sauce on it. The fish from the fish and chips was great. We asked to replace the chips with a salad which was no problem. The eggs bearnaise was yummy too. Big portions.

Good breakfast at Apple Cup Cafe - prices bring this review down from 4 star. The food was solid with good portions sizes. Each breakfast platter was around $10 or more which can get pricey for a family outing. Adding meat to breakfast really stretches the budget. All of the servers were very friendly and kept our coffees full and hot! The pancakes were tasty. Per the waitress they size them proportionally as a side vs a main dish. Food came out very quick would definitely recommend as long as you aren't picking up the check for a lot of people!

This is a great diner. I was looking for a hot meal on a road trip and the Apple Cup Cafe had a pretty full parking lot so that was a sign some good foods were inside. I had a mushroom burger with fries...the fries were awesome. This is a very good traditional diner, I'll happily eat here again next time I'm in the area looking for diner food.

Used to be our family's go to place for Sunday morning breakfast but not anymore. The prices have gone up. And when the prices go up for four meals it really adds up. And what is with this no free refills on lemonade nonsense? Come on...

I love this place. I grew up in the area and it has always been a comforting place to go. The staff is always so nice. The food is pretty good too. The pies are amazing. So is the hot chocolate. Yum. Craving them now.

Whenever I'm in Chelan I'll have at least one meal here - an excellent American diner! Left Seattle early May for a couple days exploring in dry country. Had dinner here one evening after all day riding the Lady of the Lake. I had chicken fried steak with appropriate sides; it was excellent, very tasty but not at all greasy. They serve breakfast - lunch - dinner and everything looked good. Apple Cup has different "chef's specials" every evening plus a selection of fresh, homemade pies. Umm umm good... This isn't a gourmet French place, it's an American diner. If you have a big hunger, want to quash it with some outstanding diner food, this is the place!

The best egg benedict with double shot bloody mary, and just $1 for a well drink Perfect!!! They also have a nice bar.

This place was popping with lots of families--tourists mostly I think. There was enough staff to provide prompt and efficient service. I ordered a small meal to be followed by their famous pie. The senior cheeseburger was good, though the onions were strong. Thankfully there was no ranch dressing on the burger. (The ranch dressing fad is not for me.) Good coleslaw and very good (in-house made apple crisp. The waitress put soft ice-cream on it that cut some of the sweetness.

I understand its a small town restaurant but come on when it says voted best diner by evening magazine I expected better..my food was bland no flavor with a group of 8 people maybe I could understand one maybe but all of our food was horrible don't eat there I honestly want my money back for that shit food.

Absolutely a must for a diner home cooked style big breakfast! You can't go wrong! Inexpensive & very generous portions. Delicious breakfast and great experienced servers. The lunch & dinner however does not meet the same expectations. I have never enjoyed a lunch/dinner here. Very family friendly!

Came here for breakfast and it was delicious! I got the apple cup skillet which had A LOT of mushrooms, I love mushrooms so I was in heaven. My husband had the country fried steak and loved his as well. We also shared the hazelnut crepes minus the banana and they were AMAZING! Fresh hazelnut is sprinkled on top.

Our server was a doll, she was friendly and sweet. She was on top of our order and brought drink refills often. She did a great job. The food and the rest of the staff however left me not wanting to return. Food was not good. I got a chicken sandwich that tasted like it had a layer of rubber around the chicken breast. The thing that bothered me most was: when we left there was a van in the parking lot with a small dog inside scratching at the window. There were no windows cracked!! It was only about 60 degrees outside, but they say that vehicles can heat up 20-40 degrees hotter than outdoor temp. It was about 11am, so bound to only get hotter. I went inside and told one of the ladies inside what I saw and asked if she cIould try to find the owner. She said she would look into it. (who knows how long they would be in the restaurant). I decided to wait in the lot to see if anyone actually came out to check on the dog. After 15min no one came out so I went back in. I talked to the 18-30 year old gal (maybe a hostess?) who responded with a very attitude-y "I don't know whose dog it is". I asked if she could maybe ask around at some of the tables. And she just stared at me like I was crazy. I will admit that I have a soft spot for animals and maybe this animal wasn't in critical danger at only 60 degrees BUT I do think that she could have gone around to various tables and diplomatically said "we are hoping to find the owner of a white van that is parked outside. Another patron was concerned that the windows aren't cracked for the dog inside, so we just wanted to be sure that the owner knows". I realize that it is not the employees responsibility to protect animals outside, however I would think that with the small-town family atmosphere of this place that they would want to look out for their patrons in a way that is congruent with that family atmosphere. In the end I waited a little longer, left a note on the windshield and left. I am guessing the little dog was okay this time, but I hate to think about what might happen the next time when it is warmer outside...

A diner with good food and great service. The steak sandwich was cooked perfectly as we requested for medium rare. It came with crispy fries and fresh salad. It was lots of food. The Mexicali chicken sandwich was pretty good but a little messy as it had sour cream and guacamole. The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. The waitress was attentive and checked on us a few times.

OMG!!! Four of us girls were on our way home to Seattle and stopped at the Apple Cup Cafe in Chelan. We were greeted by a sassy server named Kathy aka Grumpy. She was fantastic and has a great knack of 'telling you how it is' with quick wit and dry humor. She had us in stitches and now is our new best friend. And then we ordered breakfast and the food was great. And who knew they had just won Evening Magazine's Best of Award...what?!?! We were all thrilled for the experience and will returned when we can.

Their food is great the last two times we've been, and it's great that they serve breakfast lunch and dinner all day because I was really craving some breakfast food at noon! But both times we've been, we've had some service problems! The first time we had a larger party and waited forever to get out bill, and after waiting around for about a half an hour after repeatedly asking, we just walked up to the front and they looked at us weird when they asked for our check and we replied saying we didn't get one. This last time, just two of us went and the waitress was extremely impatient when we weren't ready to order right away and came back and demanded we chose that time. So we did. She was kind to the older couple next to us (I'm guessing regulars), and she asked "how are you!?" And knowing she was talking to them, I replied "very good thank you!" And she gave me a look that she was weirded out and said "not you". I was so shocked! She was a grown woman too! The list goes on but you get the point! Such a bummer.

Good old-fashioned greasy spoon breakfasts. . . with a twist. Service is awesome, and the food is terrific! Lines are long on the weekends, but that's the worst of it. We always eat here on our trips to Chelan!

This restaurant is a must when you visit Chelan. It's diner done right. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always top notch. We always try to find a place where the locals frequent and it is obvious that in Chelan this is it.

Pretty standard breakfast place here. In my opinion nothing too special, typical breakfast variety and quality. I come from an area loaded with awesome breakfast places, but for Chelan this fits the bill for the first morning when we haven't bought groceries. It's a very homey type of restaurant, clean interior and friendly staff. The food is nothing worth writing home about, but it's typically pretty quick and hot.

I had the pleasure of eating breakfast at Apple Cup Cafe while I was having a Labor Day girls weekend in Chelan. First of all, our server was kind, friendly, attentive and made great recommendations. The place is low-key and simple with a good variety of menu choices. Secondly, breakfast was great! I had the homemade cottage cheese pancakes with homemade orange buttermilk syrup and it was DELICIOUS!!! The syrup is so tasty I wanted to lick it right off the plate! I highly recommend this for pancake fans of all stripes. I originally thought four pancakes was going to be way too much for me, but I ended up happily devouring the whole batch! Next time I'm in the area I want to try the Eggs Bearnaise, Swedish Pancakes Chelan Style, or the Chocolate Hazelnut Banana Crepes--so many good options! As for the folks on here complaining about this place, I'm not sure why they're expecting fine dining and perfect steak dinners at a homey joint like this. It's obviously a chill, casual establishment that doesn't take itself too seriously, which I think is a plus, esp. when I'm vacationing. However, know that I'm from the South, where places like this RULE.

We just ate at this little spot, mostly because of the reviews and when we arrived there was a "buy local" sticker in the window. While I don't doubt the sincerity of the staff, our experience left much to be desired. In short: mediocre service, bland food not fresh, flies, bad coffee, food comes out very fast after placing order (this could be a good thing for families with kids). The waitress was nice enough, though didn't crack much of a smile or attempt to make even the briefest of pleasantries. She just got the job done. The good news, in our case, was that the food came super fast! Like so fast I would normally see this as a negative but we have young kids, so today this was a huge positive. But the bad news... Coffee was so watered down and had little flavor. Worst "diner" coffee I have ever had. The cream was milk, not 1/2 and 1/2. I had the banana hazelnut creeps. The bananas were so over ripe I could not finish the one crepe. My 9 month old son who loves bananas kept spitting them out and finally started batting my spoon away if I tried to feed him more. My husband ordered eggs Benedict and he said his food tasted fine but it was luke warm. His plate also came with a peach and strawberry garnish. The strawberry was close to rotten. No one ate it. The peach was from a can. My daughters ordered chocolate chip pancakes and they were a hit. I tried them too and they were really good. And then there were the flies... One kept flying around my face and one landed on my food... Ick. When my husband and I left we just looked at each other with frowns wishing we could could ask for a refund or even more so wish we would have chosen a different place to eat. For a family with 5 eaters we paid 45 plus a tip for our meals and two coffees. Not worth the price for what we ate. I will not eat here again.

Cottage cheese pancakes + orange buttermilk syrup = fan-to-the-TASTIC. This is a nice, casual little diner with fast, friendly service and yummy food. If you order tea, they'll bring you boiling water and a million different kinds of tea to choose from, ranging from cheap generic stuff to Tazo. One star off for all the flies buzzing around. That was a little gross.

3.5 Stars. Each day they have a special and Monday's special was the Meatloaf. Ordered that along with their Chicken Fried Steak (CFS). Both plates were served with corn and mashed potatoes and a roll. Also got a beef stew type soup that came with the CFS that was very delicious with tender beef. Meatloaf was the gravy based variety and not the tomato based one (the one I don't like) and worked well with the creamy mashed potatoes and corn. Same for the CFS. Diner style food, good service and overall decent value in Chelan.

Good food, good service, great BREAKFAST! German sausage with eggs over easy, wheat toast and perfectly cooked hash browns. The hash browns surprised me. Crunchy outside, soft inside, not greasy at all... perfectly golden brown. Wonderful. The German sausage was sliced length-ways and grilled. A tad spicy and very delicious. Hometown atmosphere and basic decor. Very clean with polite servers. Easy to find on the main drag of Chelan near the Les Schwab. We'll be back!

Great family atmosphere, cute little cafe serving mostly American fare. Friendly staff, good service.

Holy moly! The food is soooo good. We rolled in with 11 girls as part of a bachlorette party and we were starving. The waitress handled our large party with ease. The service was quick, the food was good, and the price was right. The decor was classic old school. It reminded of me of eating at your grandma's house. This should be your number one choice for breakfast restaurants in Chelan.

We so love this place! We cone every summer during our stay at Wapato Point in Manson & have good memories from coming here. Great, friendly service in an old homey diner. We usually have breakfast here (no matter the time of day) and we've always enjoyed everything we've tried. Versatile menu & specials each day, especially good if you're a meat-n-potatoes kind of person. We went in the afternoon this time and were seated immediately! (party of 3). Food came out quickly; the kids ordered breakfast (one from the kids menu) & I got the Club Sandwich on wheat. Very good, including the fries, but a bit dry. Solution: dipped it in my ranch dressing! (I know, NOT low-cal) We appreciate this place and will be coming back year after year!

Coffee grounds floating IN the coffee. Burnt toast. (other people's toast was fine) "skillet" breakfasts not in skillets so they got cold quickly potatoes boiled then fried - not a good flavor, tasted boiled instead of fried over cooked bacon milk instead of cream for coffee funny smell in back room where we were seated, chairs mismatched and the one i got super uncomfortable. will NOT be returning.

Always make it a point to come to Apple Cup every time I come to Chelan. It never disappoints. I am pretty sure that all I have had here is breakfast, even for dinner. I hate having limitations, so cafes that serve breakfast all day, always have a special place in my heart! 2 meals for $22 is the cheapest we have paid for a meal in Chelan all week. Next year when his family suggests Troys, I will insist we drive 20 mins in town to eat here!

Always good food & great service. We love coming here for breakfast. Away from downtown, but a fav with the locals!

I thought Apple Cup looked a little dumpy from the outside, but it was really cute when we sat down. The servers are down to earth, the omelets are tasty, and the hash browns are to die for. From the chalkboard, it looks like they have dinner specials every weeknight.

THE breakfast spot in Chelan. Expect long lines on the weekends, but don't despair, the food is for sure worth the wait. Stick around and enjoy a GREAT meal!! I have a summer place on the lake, and when I'm in town, every breakfast will take place here. Does that say enough?

We got back from Chelan this afternoon and I'm so glad we stopped by this place before riding home! We had a group of 10 so they had to split us up but they managed to seat us right next to each other which was great. The service here is amazing and the waitresses are super friendly. Coffee is free here too! I shared the chicken country fried steak meal and that was so filling and satisfying! I also ordered a side of sausages, that was kind of greasy but still good. Our friends really enjoyed their breakfast burrito too. The food came to us in record time, I was so amazed and impressed. Overall, this place is sooo welcoming to tourists so I highly recommend stopping by this joint for breakfast, lunch or dinner, because they serve everything all day long!

Again, never had a bad meal here. Today they were super busy, but it still didn't take long to get seated and served. Last time we were here we all thought how funny our server was distracted with my little niece as she was taking our order. We thought she wasn't catching anything we were saying or noting our changes, but she didn't miss a beat. She kept saying 'go ahead, honey' and back to making funny faces at my niece. Pretty funny, but she was a great server and got all our orders out quick and correct. So we all thought she just loved kids, right? Nope, she ignored all other kiddos, even the ones I thought were cuter than my niece. Back to the food. Food is always solid. They gave me scrambled today and even when I said it was okay, they brought over easy. Good stuff. Pancakes are super soft and bloody marys are stiff. The end.

We stopped in here while on vacation hoping they'd have chicken fried steak. Not only did they but it was the best we've ever had! Unlike most chicken fried steaks that are hard and crusty, Apple Cafe's were moist and flavorful. The portions were also very generous and for a good price. The service was also cheerful and pleasant. We also suggest trying the bloody Mary specials. The only reason I'm not giving Apple 5 stars is they didn't melt the cheese on our hash browns, which should've been a given. However, if you're looking for a delicious, hearty breakfast in Chelan, Apple Cafe should be your destination.

Super friendly and professional staff who are efficient and helpful, unbeatable selection, delicious food, and to seal the deal: very reasonable prices! In our 2 night stay there in Chelan, we ate here twice. Something must have changed in the last several months when they were receiving so-so reviews. This place is great!! My partner and I were in and out of there within 45min flat. We'll be back :)

We initially went here because it was right across the street from where we were staying in Chelan. Service was outstanding. Food was outstanding too. I'm only taking off one star because the coffee wasn't very good (and being a coffee snob, this is important to me).

Wonderful customer service and the food came out real quick, but it was not all that great. I ordered the Country Skillet... I think my toast was the best part.

If this place was in Seattle it would for sure be a 3 star joint. But here in Chelan... 4 easy! Basic diner fare. Pretty institutional really. I have to say nothing was wrong with the food at all and we all grubbed out. Service was crazy quick and kind. The absolute high point which really bumps it up to a 4 star status is the giant and delicious bloody mary. Spicy, chunky, green olive and pickled green bean! Make it a double for a buck extra are you kidding me?!?! Does that mean i can make it a quadruple for 4 extra dollars!?!? I dont know the answer to that, but next time I go I will surely try and find out!

Fine cafe/diner food and friendly staff. Did the Tuesday special of Beef Stroganoff and the Turkey Melt. Both were good. Very reasonably priced. We would stop and eat here again.

We were quite pleased with the quality of food and service and would definitely return to this restaurant the next time we pass through Chelan. For dinner, the Café offers quite a nice range of breakfast, sandwich and dinner entrée options, including daily specials. Our group ordered breakfast entrees, sandwiches, and dinner specials. The kids loved the selection from their menu as well. I noticed that the other reviewers did not mention much about dinner and wanted to alert others to this Cafe's great options for families.

The three of us had dinner there on Wednesday night around the 7 o'clock hour. We ordered 2 Chef Specials which were the T-bone french dip sandwich meals, and a Rib steak dinner, a milkshake, the trio dessert sampler, 2 apple cobblers, and 2 beers. The check came to about $75. The portions were well sized. We took home left overs. The Chef Specials came with auj jus and french fries and were really good. When I first looked at my plate the steak was accompanied with the mashed potatoes that I requested and a veggie which was zucchini and squash. I normally don't like the bitter taste of zucchini and squash blend, but I gave it a go and I was quite surprised. It was DELICIOUS, well seasoned, no bitter taste. It was the best thing on the plate. The mashed potatoes were good too. The steak that I requested medium rare was extremely fatty, quite bland. It was not a rib steak and had no bone. It was an undercooked prime rib cut. Salt and pepper didn't really do much to flavor it, and A-1 was too heavy. Aus jus brought out the flavor, but what it really needed was to be cooked on a flame just a few minutes more. I had to microwave the leftover meat about 3 minutes to become a normal edible consistency. My daughter and I were debating what milkshake flavor to get. I wanted peanut butter chocolate and she wanted Oreo. Instead of a never-ending back and forth stalemate we decided to give our compromise a try: peanut butter chocolate oreo. Wow, what a yummy invention! They also have homemade desserts displayed in the desert case. The apple cobblers were good. The trio sampler with the chocolate pudding cake, meyer lemon cake, and the blueberry cheesecake were rich and yummy. Definitely brought it as leftovers to our hotel room to snack on repeatedly. We had two different waitresses- one to seat us and get our drinks. When we walked in it was a full dining room with people finishing their meals so the dining area we were in dwindled down just to one other table when we had ordered another beer half way through the meal. After 10 minutes or so we realized she forgot about us. We tried to flag her attention but she remained oblivious. The other waitress who was kind enough to check on us, who i believe is the head waitress, seemed more experienced and knowledgeable than the younger, previous waitress who failed to inform us of the beer choices on tap, so ended up with a Bud Light... I discovered this diner a few years back and am a repeat customer here when I visit Chelan. This is a very quaint, homey, cozy, friendly diner that I would recommend. They seem to have the weeks' specials posted and it appears they have a special every day. They also have the Fireside Lounge on the other side of the restaurant.

Remember the classic "Truck Stop" restaurant ? Apple Cup isn't a truck stop, but the food, the service, the decor are like the best Truck Stop you've ever been to. You get seated and served quickly - waitresses make you feel like one of the family. Menu offers an incredible variety - have eaten here dozens of times and Never had a bad meal. And they offer a reduced-price menu page just for Seniors and Kids - a bit smaller portions which is Perfect!! You'll be missing the best if you don't end the meal with my favorite: Apple Crisp with ice cream on top. Absolutely incredible!!

first time in chelan and we were staying across the street from this place and quickly realized there aren't very many choices for breakfast, so decided to walk across the street and check this place out. it was standard breakfast. nothing spectacular, just average. the waitress, who was an older lady, seemed to be paying attention to everything but us when she was taking our order. she was writing everything down but there was no eye contact. food was decent, very reasonably priced, and came out extremely quick though - so can't complain!

Good breakfast, but they tend to rush the food out...my hash browns weren't done. However, eggs were perfectly cooked, biscuit that I subbed for toast was de licious, and my husband LOVED the eggs benedict one of the best he's had! Overall, I'd recommend it, just make sure you order your hash browns "well done". Server was very nice.

Our family loves the Apple Cup! Fast, friendly service and mouth watering menu. The BEST breakfast in town! I My favorite is the Red Eye Special. Each year the Apple Cup holds their Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner. A time for the community members and visitors to count their blessing that we have the Apple Cup and each other.

Apple Cup Cafe is the hang out where all the locals go! It sits about 6-7 blocks from the downtown area. It is your friendly, basic American style diner. Breakfast is served, sandwiches/salads/burgers are your standard fare. I had the Reuben with fries. It was really good. Service is really friendly, and you can tell that they are used to treating both locals and strangers very well.

Our waiter was really helpful with our big group with children and rolled with it when we had spilled water. Food came in big portions and they served us quickly. Went again the next day for breakfast and had another good experience. A good local cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day. The meat seems like good quality for a diner. Not the greatest at refilling water though.

I've been here everytime I've been in Chelan (probably about half-a-dozen times), and it is consistently a good experience. My most recent visit, I had the clubhouse on sourdough with fries and a strawberry shake. The clubhouse was solid and the strawberry shake was in the top 3 shakes I've ever had. She had french toast and coffee. Also very good. Our server was Donna, who was very friendly, very fast, and very attentive. Great place for breakfast or lunch, and a staple in Chelan!

I'm not sure if we ate at the bizzaro world version of this place but it was horrible. We went for dinner and it took over a 1/2 hour to cook our meal with a nearly empty restaurant. Food tasted below average and looked worse. The vegetables were soaked in oil or butter...couldn't tell. The fish I ordered tasted dry and I had to cut it with knife. The people behind me left 3/4 of their meal behind. The worst part was listening to another table complain about the dry meat and the waiter laughing and saying "of course it's dry..it was cooked at 11 am this morning...I never order the daily special". He offered them gravy to moisten the pork roast. The desserts are microwaved to warm up and are below average. They use soft serve ice cream on your dessert which doesn't taste good either. The waiter ended up comping two meals of "dry meat" to the other table and I contemplated asking for the same but didn't. I don't understand where the good reviews come from. The kicker was when he brought me the clam chowder and asked me if it was too cold as they had "just put it out"...it was 7 pm...what time do they open the can and microwave the soup...I wonder? It tasted worse than Progresso canned soup.

I grew up in Chelan and loved eating here. Over the past few years, the food has gone downhill and an alarming speed. It is officially dive status. I have eaten here with terrible food 3 times in the last year. I hoped each time that the time before was a fluke. Nope. Everyone's food was bad each time. It makes me so sad.

My husband is mildly allergic to some food chemicals. Usually, we can go to a restaurant without a problem, unless it's some place like Denny's where he reacts within a few bites of the food because it's so laden with preservatives and chemicals. There are only a few sit-down restaurants that are like that for him. This is one of them.

  • Meg L.

This is a standard diner-like breakfast place. The service, when you get it, is very nice and friendly. Sometimes you have to sit and wait for a while though. The food is typical hearty breakfast (and lunch) food. We never seem to be very hungry when we go here, so we always get something small, like the english muffin breakfast sandwich (which is actually quite good). We will have to go for the gusto next time and stuff ourselves silly. My favorite thing about this place is that if you want a latte, they will walk over to the latte stand in the parking lot and get it for you. And they're good latte's too! Ya gotta love a place that goes out of their way for you like that. Give 'em a try.

This is the best place to eat in Chelan. It's a classic 50s diner style place that serves hearty American fried food. Everything is delicious! All of the other places in Chelan are really weird or Mexican. Except for Campbells, they are good.

My wife and I stayed at Wapato Point and found this place on Restaurant.com Read the reviews here and thought we give it a go. We went 3 times in the week we stayed, twice for breakfast and once for dinner. The breakfast portions were large and well priced. My wife got the build your own Omelette and it was huge! With the order she got pancakes. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs with toast. Delicious! My wife wanted shrimp for dinner and we checked the menu of the "seafood restaurant" downtown and I thought I was going to have a heart attack looking at the prices. Almost 26 bucks for shrimp dinner. So I thought we'd give the Apple Cup Cafe a go for dinner. She got the popcorn shrimp and chips and I got the fish and chips. Normally popcorn shrimp means small, but these were anything but, and the portion was larger than most places I've eaten, the price was under 10 bucks! The fish was Halibut not cod or even cheap pollock you find in other joints, and again under 10 bucks. We came back on Thursday for our last breakfast in town. You know when all the locals are hitting this place up, it's the place to be for good food. We had the same waitress for the 1st breakfast and dinner, and a different one for the last breakfast. Service was quick, we did have to wait a little for breakfast on Sunday, but given how many people were in there, it was understandable. Quick to fill coffee, I use this as a gauge for service, if my cup never goes empty, it's a plus, but they were filling me up at the half cup mark. Overall a great place! Will definitely be back again!

It has potential but not for us...I guess it's been around since 1957 and I would assume that was when they purchased the cereal that they gave to my daughter. The box was dust covered and a bit faded. The cereal was stale and the other food was pretty bland. However, the staff were fantastic...they get the star on the ratings...

superb! we tried the breakfast and lunch here and both were awesome!! my husband actually said this was the "best omlette he ever ate". The place has a very comfortable, family-run feel to it and the service is friendly. We had the pasta for lunch and the portions were huge!

Your traditional local greasey spoon diner. Get a decent comfort food breakfast. Lunches are also good. I like that they feed the poor a free meal on Thanksgiving, donation only. Nice community spirit.

Great local breakfast and lunch place. Stop for a late breakfast and the food was great. Place was packed and it appeared to have a rather large following. Service was good, portions large and prices reasonable. If you are in the area and need a place to have breakfast I would recommend it.

Get there early in the summer or you'll wait for a seat. Food is generally very good all around, though the seating is a bit crowded and it can get pretty loud.
