Went to Remlinger for a company event not to pick berries, so my review of this place should be based on that assumption. My family arrived in the afternoon and found plenty of parking and helpful staff in the lot that directed us in the general direction where we could check in. This is where our trouble started when we were "greeted" (I use the term very loosely) by a younger gal who oozed a "I'd much rather be somewhere else today" attitude that left us a little disenchanted. After our company spent almost $10K I would expect a little more energy and possibly a "Welcome to Remlinger" or "Hope you have a great time", instead it was "here's your wrist band and some coupons." Not to be deterred, we made our way down to the picnic area which was nicely decorated and laid out. BBQ'd burgers, veggie burgers, and hotdogs, steamed corn, coleslaw, and baked beans was on the menu. All the food was "Meh" (pretty average) for a picnic, the burgers were grilled over charcoal but lacked flavor, the beans were terrible - overcooked, mushy and overly sweet, one bite and the rest went to the bin, luckily the corn was fresh and cooked perfectly, but if I was to collectively rank the overall experience I'd have to say I've had better at my daughters elementary school cafeteria. Started thinking about heading into the amusement park area but was surprised that we were only offered a $2 off coupon. For my crew that would have been $30, not the end of the world but I seem to remember my wife bought a Groupon that provided 50% off, so was a little miffed - again remembering the $10K already spent and the lackluster energy of the staff - so decided to cut our losses and left early. Overall, it's a beautiful place but the aloof energy from the staff definitely has room for improvement.
Wife dragged me from my computer to come here and pick berries. I ended up having a lot of fun. I imagine this is what Knott's Berry Farm in southern California used to be before it turned into a year round theme park. For me, I've been loving the Remlinger Farm coffee I sometimes get in the store and this was a great opportunity to see the place firsthand. We drove up, went into the store and grabbed some coffee and a sandwich to keep us fueled for picking berries. They have so much delicious looking food and jarred preserves and vegetables it's impossible NOT finding something to buy. We were going to go into the park proper but two adults in with a lot of children when the wife and I were only interested in riding the train...not so much. BUT...not unreasonable in terms of cost. In any case, we were there to pick berries so we got to it. Strawberries were first on the list and we went out to the field and picked away filling a flat with a few pounds of tiny, flavor packed strawberries. We then repeated the process for raspberries. Equally as delicious. After picking several pounds of fruit which happened a lot faster than I thought it would we cropped out, and headed back to the blueberry field we saw on the drive in located away from the main fields tied to the store and park. Blueberries are delicious here and the field was fairly empty of people so we ended up spending more time as there was less competition. Overall, this was a fun trip and great for a family. The berries are so sweet they will be dessert all by themselves. Super fun and I love when farms open themselves to the public at large. Makes for such a great life experience.
Took our 18month old for an august visit to Remlinger. We arrived at 10 and were first into the park for a train ride, 2 car rides, 2 pony rides. 2 hours seemed to be the right amount of time. Yes it is pricey and the bathrooms and parking lot, entrance/exit is a long walk away. However it's a fraction of the price and cost of disney, so we had a good time without any hassle. There are signs posted everywhere about not bringing outside food inside. Toddlers get hungry on demand, so we were discreet when passing our little one some snacks at a picnic table. Seems to be an unreasonable/unfriendly policy since small kids can't necessarily eat things from the market and/or the food stands.
